Je commencerai une formation professionnelle en sept 2011 à Laval, à l école Paul-Émile Dufresne.Les cours durent 1 an.J ai hésité entre ca et le d.e.c(3ANS ) mais selon les quelques infos reçus, je ne trouvais pas plus avantageux le dec....
Je voulais avoir quelques conseils et infos sur le métier...
Je sais que le salaire n est pas super attrayant mais je préfère faire un métier passionnant plûtot qu un métier payant!!!
- Je voulais savoir dans quel genre d agence il serait bon pour moi de commencer en sortant de l école sachant que je veux éviter autant que possible les agences qui ne vendent que du tout inclus dans le sud....(loin de m interesser!!)

c'est une expression employée ici au Canada c'est la traduction de "all-inclusive".
Cela veut dire un forfait de vacances tout est inclus dans le prix les nuits en hôtel , le transport aérien et les repas.
Cela se fait essentiellement à partir d'ici au Québec vers les Caraïbes.

en Afrique exception faite du Club Med ( et encore je ne suis pas certain qu'ils aient des clubs sauf peut-être au Sénégal) il n'y a pas de formule "tout-inclus"

Il n y a que tres peu d agence de ce genre...J aimerais sensibiliser les gens à mon projet et ensuite, par l intermediaire de mes clients, apporter un peu d aide la ou on peut!!!

Une agence de voyage c'est avant tout une entreprise commerciale.
Donc le but c'est avant tout de gagner de l'argent comme tout entreprise commerciale pour que tu fasses tourner ton entreprise..
Et "vendre" des voyages humanitaires je doute que cela soit vendeur.
Parce que les gens soient ils veulent partir dans des "tout-inclus" comme tu écris soient avec des voyages organisés.

J'aimerais savoir où vous en êtes avec votre cheminement, plus de 2 ans ont passé depuis vos commentaires et souhait comme celles-ci, avez-vous réalisé votre rêve pour ce type de voyage (humanitaire)?
Je vais suivre un cours à April-Fortier pour les même raisons que vous, et j'ai sensiblement les mêmes attentes envers ma prochaine vocation. Suis-je trop utopiste???
J'ai terminé mon DEP il y a quelques mois mais comme je partais pour 6 semaines en Asie, je n ai pas cherché d emploi dans le domaine.
J'ai adoré ma formation, j'ai appris énormément.
Par curiosité, pourquoi avoir opté pour April Fortier plutôt qu'un DEP la formation est plus longue mais bien plus complète...Ce n'est que mon point de vue, vous devez avoir vos propres raisons..
Je ferai un certificat en coopération internationale en janvier prochain parce que sinon, je ne crois pas que j aurais pu postuler pour une ONG ou participer à des projets humanitaires...
Par contre, si votre projet est de proposer des voyages humanitaires à des client, après quelques années d expérience, il vous sera possible d ouvrir une agence de ce genre. Il faut savoir, selon tous les gens rencontrés dans le milieu ainsi que mes enseignants, que le milieu du tourisme est souvent peu rémunéré il est donc nécessaire que ce soit une passion, une vocation. Il faut travailler dans le milieu par plaisir et non dans le but d'en tirer beaucoup de profits...Je trouve que ceci est un bla bla inutile puisque chacun fais son chemin et s'en sort différemment alors il ne faut pas du tout vous laisser décourager par cet aspect. Le milieu du tourisme est très stimulant..
J'ai réalisé que le travail en agence ne serait pas pour moi alors j ai décidé de poursuivre mes études mais il y a beaucoup de portes qui s ouvriront à vous après votre formation. Nul doute.
Ce sera à vous de voir ce qui peut vous stimuler.

Hey! Très content de lire ta réponse!!! Pourquoi j'ai choisi AF: le temps! J'ai 47 ans, je fais un changement de carrière, alors, je ne peux pas attendre 3 ans. J'ai parlé avec un conseillé de chez Uniktour aujourd'hui et, en agence, c'est beaucoup de temps en agence, plus de 90% du temps! Je ne sais pas si ça me plaira, peut-être ajouterai-je guide accompagnateur, on verra bien.
Tu dois aussi avoir l'âme de la vocation pour approcher les ONG, ça non plus c'est pas très lucratif, en argent, mais côté humain, wow!
Je te tiendrai au courant, et même des questions viendront certainement...:)

À l'heure où j'écris ces mots, je ne suis pas encore inscris, mais ça ne va pas tarder! J'ai déjà un métier de pigiste, en commencant maintenant je finirai en décembre, comme ça je ne manquerai pas trop de travail à cause des cours à 3j semaine.
Voilà pourquoi!
Ça fait longtemps de ça (13 ans déjà) mais oui, j'ai été satisfaite des cours, que j'ai tous beaucoup aimé. La formation est très intéressante, stimulante, les profs étaient tous de l'industrie du tourisme et ma classe était super.
Presque tout le monde trouvait un emploi très rapidement après les 5 mois et demi de formation. (Par contre, l'année suivante il y a eu le 9/11, l'industrie s'est effondrée et plusieurs ont perdu leur emploi. heureusement, ça a repris par la suite).
Quant à moi, j'avais trouvé un emploi chez le grossiste Holiday Network/Tours Maison comme agent de réservation, département de la Floride. Mais j'ai quitté assez rapidement. Salaire faible, aucune commission sur les ventes faites aux agences, et sincèrement je me sentais exploitée par cet employeur, le salaire étant vraiment bas et chaque joue je voyais leurs bénéfices énormes...Maintenant je suis devenue fonctionnaire, et j'ai pu voyager énormément depuis.
J'ai une amie qui a fait une belle carrière, elle a travaillé pour plusieurs agences et aujourd'hui elle vend des croisières chez Vacances Transat. Une autre amie est devenu représentante des ventes chez Tours-Mont Royal. Mais côté salaire, c'est pas mirobolant, cependant elle voyage souvent. On ne fait pas ce métier là pour faire de l'argent, à moins de devenir proprio d'une chaîne d'agences, par exemple. Il faut aimer la vente, car peu importe où tu bosseras dans ce domaine, tu seras appelé à vendre. Tu peux aussi devenir représentant à destination, tu es logé, nourri, au soleil, mais il te faut travailler énormément et parfois vendre les excursions aux touristes. Il faut adorer le contact avec les gens aussi. Donc ça dépend vraiment de ce que tu recherches...
Attention, A-F c'est très cher $$$ c'est un gros invesstissement par rapport à ce que rapporte les emplois, sache que n'importe quelle école de tourisme te permettra de trouver du travail si tu es bilingue, motivé et passionné!

If anyone knows the rates charged by movers for a crate to French Polynesia, or what pitfalls to avoid (I know you can get quotes directly from movers, but I’d love insights from actual customers😉).
