alors voila, je pars m' installer a montreal quelques temps avec mon mari. Nous attendons impatiemment les visas . on espere etre partis avant la fin de l' annee, avant que le froid nous saisisse!
Nous aimerions connaitre les coins de montreal a ne pas rater et ceux a eviter, les bons plans pour trouver des logements a louer au depart de france et des contacts pour les jobs. Et oui, on part un peu a l' aventure.

Pour ce qui est des quartiers à Montréal, le plus branché est le Plateau Mont-Royal, les logements y sont maintenant hors de prix (de mon point de vue de montréalaise). Il y a aussi le Mile-End que je placerais dans cette catégorie. Sinon, les quartiers accueillants et moins chers sont Rosemont-La Petite Patrie, Villeray, Ahuntsic (du plus près au plus loin du Centre-Ville). Les quartiers ouvriers comme Centre-Sud, Hochelaga-Maisonneuve et St-Henri peuvent aussi être une alternative peu coûteuse. Cela dépend de vos moyens et de ce que vous recherchez.

Alors pour l'appartement, je crois qu'il vous faudrait compter entre 450$ et 650$ par mois. Attention, on spécifie toujours si le loyer inclut le chauffage car cela fait une bonne différence au bout du compte. Si l'appart est dit "pas chauffé" cela veut dire que le chauffage (généralement à l'électricité) est au frais des locataires. On peut contacter le fournisseur québécois d'électricité, Hydro-Québec, qui nous informe du coût mensuel moyen de la facture d'électricité lorsqu'on fournit l'adresse exacte de l'appart. Donc lorsqu'un appart est annoncé "chauffé et éclairé", les frais de chauffage et d'électricité sont inclus dans le loyer.
Pour les vêtements d'hiver adéquats et à un coût raisonnable, je vous suggère d'aller dans une grande surface comme Simons, La Baie ou Sears (ces derniers vendent aussi par catalogue comme 3Suisses et sont en ligne à www.sears.ca ). Cela fera l'affaire pour acheter -par exemple- une canadienne. Si vous cherchez un manteau de style "plein air", fait de matériaux qui respirent et/ou sèchent rapidement, il faudra aller dans un magasin de plein air comme La Cordée ou Mountain Coop Equipment ou dans un magasin de sport comme Excellence Sport ou André Lalonde Sport. Le prix sera alors plus élevé. (En passant, la plupart de ces commerces ont un site internet, que l'on peut généralement trouver en cherchant sur Google Canada.
Bien que ça ne rentre pas dans ma catégorie "pas trop cher", je ne peux aborder ce sujet sans vous parler de Kanuk, car vous identifierez rapidement leurs manteaux qui sont très répandus chez les Bobos de chez nous www.kanuk.ca . Ces manteaux sont vraiments chauds et peuvent constituer un bon investissement pour une personne qui a beaucoup de marche à faire en hiver et qui pourra amortir son coût élevé sur plusieurs années.

Si c' est vers janvier fevrier, est-ce que ça vaut le coup d' attendre un peu, et garder des vetements que je possede deja, (version française, donc sûrement pas d' aussi bonne qualité que les votres)ou faut il necessairement avoir des vetements ultra chauds des l' arrivée des premiers froids. Les soldes sur les vêtements d'hiver ont lieu après les Fêtes. Ici, le "Boxing Day", le 26 décembre, est devenu une vraie folie. Les gens campent presque devant les magasins pour profiter des soldes, mais ceux-ci se prolongent les semaines suivantes. Les mois les plus froids sont janvier et février. Je crois que ça vaut le coût d'essayer de porter ton manteau français. Au pire, si tu n'en peux plus, tu en achètes un autre, soldes ou pas. Nous n'avons pas parler des bottes, mais si tu te déplaces à pied, des bottes chaudes et anti-dérapantes sont un bon achat. Tu peux en trouver autour de 100$. Pour ce qui est de la tolérance aux grands froids, je ne sais pas si -30 degrés se supportent mieux qu'on ne le croit. Ça dépend jusqu'à quel point tu anticipes de telles températures. Disons que c'est désagréable, mais on fait avec.
Autour du solstice d'hiver (fin décembre), le soleil se couche vers 16h et se lève (hum... je ne suis plus certaine) vers 7h. Pour ce qui est de la ville souterraine, il s'agit de galeries communiquant avec les métros du Centre-Ville, les principaux centres commerciaux et certaines tours à bureaux. Personnellement, je l'emprunte surtout pour mon magasinage (je veux dire shopping 😉) des Fêtes.

Nous partons avec un visa de résidence permanente, mais nous devons encore envoyer des papiers a l' ambassade du canada, ensuite, visite médicale et enfin les visas, donc on en a encore pour quelques temps, j' espère 3-4 mois pas plus.
Donc pour le moment je me renseigne surtout pour le logement et le boulot, sachant qu' on ne recherche pas dans un domaine ultra précis.
Ce qui m' interresse aussi, ce sont les premieres choses a faire, par ex: ouvrir un compte, papiers pour avoir une sécurité sociale...
Vous serez arrivés avant moi, donc si tu pouvais donner tes premieres impressions, des petites astuces...

After living for many years in the West (Belgium, Italy, Switzerland),
I’ve decided to return and settle in Cameroon, my home country.
Currently an entrepreneur in real estate and transport, I’m looking for a partner / partners / foundation to collaborate on an agriculture project, as I own 10 hectares of land.
