Hello

Out of all my travels, I haven’t been to Vietnam yet. Does anyone have plans to visit the country?

Looking forward to hearing from you, Christine

Hi Christine, I recently posted a proposal for a shared trip to Vietnam. I’d love for you to check it out. Looking forward to hearing from you, Fabienne

Hi Christine, I’m planning a trip to Vietnam in January/February 2026... if you can wait, we could travel part of the way together instead of the whole trip (I often go for 6 weeks). Claude

Hi Claude, If your search is still current, I’d be up for considering a full or partial trip together. If you want, you can tell me more in a DM. See you soon

Hi, I'm heading to Vietnam for 45 days in February
CL Clau51 ·
I’ll be traveling for 5 weeks in Vietnam or Thailand in February and March 2026—I’m still undecided. But I can’t really plan with a travel buddy without at least some info, and your profile is, uh 🤔😅 how to put it… surprising… 17 years old 😊
CL Clau51 ·
Hi Regine, I’m so sorry—I just saw your message now! My flight ticket is already booked: I’ll be in Vietnam from January 27 to February 15 only. My itinerary is Ho Chi Minh City, Dalat, and the Central Highlands (Kon Tum, Hoi An, Hue), then back to Ho Chi Minh City on February 12. Right now, I’m looking for a guide to explore the Central Highlands (3 to 5 days) and possibly a travel companion. Claude

Hi Claude, thanks for your reply. Personally, for this time of year and distance, I prefer longer stays. Safe travels to you! Régine

and also, in case you don’t know about this blog https://worldwildbrice.net/ a goldmine of relevant and up-to-date info 😏
CL Clau51 ·
Yeah, I went through Brice’s blog—it’s a goldmine of info where you can pick and choose based on what you’re into. I’m also a fan of longer trips, but my cat’s making pet-sitting a hassle right now 🙁 I’m leaving for 4 weeks, but after southern and central Vietnam, I’m heading to Singapore (I really love big cities). See you around!
TC Tchao Veteran ·
For pet sitting at their home, I recommend the site Nomador. I use it as a home sitter, and it lets you travel while doing a good deed—even abroad. For short or long stays. Unlike you, I’m not a big fan of big cities, even though Singapore is still pretty nice. I also really liked Hanoi with its village vibe and lots of artists, but that was a good 15 years ago…

Hi Claude, I just read your message, and it really caught my attention because it might match what I’m looking for. I’ve already been to Vietnam twice—once in the north and once in the central and southern regions. In 2026, I’ll be meeting my daughter in Thailand from February 17 to March 4, and I’m considering adding Vietnam to the start of that trip, among other options. I haven’t explored the central highlands yet, and here’s what I was thinking: Ho Chi Minh City, Mui Ne, Da Lat, Buon Ma Thuot, Pleiku, Kon Tum, Hoi An. It’s very similar to your plan, and of course, mine is flexible. I was also considering (especially if I were traveling solo) hiring a guide or going through an agency for the central highlands. I’m happy to connect if you’re interested. Hope to hear from you soon.

Hi Robert, with only 4 days for the Central Highlands and given the travel times, I have to revise my plans and will stick to Dalat. For one of the days, I’ll book a tour with the Easy Rider association to explore the surrounding countryside, and for another day, I’m in touch with a French-speaking guide.

I’ll come back to the Central Highlands another time.

But I’m still hesitating and might give up 2 of the 5 days I’d planned in Ho Chi Minh City to spend 6 days in the Central Highlands instead.

Either way, it’s totally possible to spend a few days together. Let’s see!
MA MadouPadou ·
Hi Claude, I understand you're hesitant about the itinerary, and I don’t want to push you into something you’re not comfortable with. For the Central Highlands area, if I were traveling solo, I would have started looking into organized tours. Here are a few examples of tours that can be modified or shortened upon request: https://vietnamoriginal.com/excursion-au-vietnam/les-hauts-plateaux-vietnam.html https://www.asiatica-travel.fr/circuit-vietnam/hauts-plateaux-vietnam.html https://www.asiakingtravel.fr/tour/itineraire-une-semaine-centre-hauts-plateaux-vietnam https://aventure-vietnam.com/circuit-hauts-plateaux-vietnam-10-jours/ https://vietnamevasion.com/hauts-plateaux/ But I’m also open to independent travel, or going with the Easy Rider association, or even with a French-speaking guide... I’ve only been to Ho Chi Minh City, Huế, and Hội An once, and I’d happily go back (especially Hội An!) I’m here if you’d like to get to know each other better. Take your time to think it over, and talk soon.

Hi Robert. I just saw your message before posting mine. I’m planning to go to Hanoi from February 10th to 17th, 2026, to visit Halong Bay for 3 days—by motorbike or scooter. I already have the address of a small hotel in Ninh Binh, about 90 km south of Hanoi. Interested? If so, reply to me in a DM. Olivier from Pézenas. We’re neighbors! !

Hello! I’m newly retired and looking at a project in Asia for Autumn 2026—or 2027. Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, and Sri Lanka are all catching my interest. Wishing you all wonderful adventures.
