Nous sommes un couple avec 3 enfants (12,10,4 ans) qui souhaitons nous installer à Djibouti, on cherche toutes infos concernant la vie en famille à Djibouti avec des enfants : Sécurité, logement, loyers, écoles, couts de la vie, transports, loisirs, climat etc....
- le climat : excepté en hiver où il fait relativement chaud évidemment il y fait très chaud tout l'année souvent plus de 40degrés.
Il y a parfois en décembre quelques pluies peut-être 3 ou 4 jours.
- la sécurité : éviter un quartier qui s'appelle Balbala ( Ambouli ) sur la route de Khor Ambado et les quartiers après "les caisses".
De toute façon localement on vous dira où ne pas aller.
Sinon pas de problèmes particuliers d'insécurité particulier.
Pour une ballade la fin de semaine si on veut aller loin , il faut s'enregistrer auprès de la gendarmerie.
Tout autour de Djibouti c'est le désert il n'y a absolument rien donc vaut mieux pas avoir de pépin mécanique
- les transports sont assez restreints.
Il y a un train pour l'Ethiopie très lent sinon des bus qui vont partout ( je n'en ai jamais pris ).
- pour les loisirs: les îles Musha et Maskali, les plages de Khor Ambado excellentissimes pour la plongée, la "forêt" du Day, les lacs de sels d'Assal et Abbé.
Il y a aussi "l'ile du Diable" près du lac Abbé ; Cousteau y aurait vu un monstre marin.
Sinon la ville de Djibouti regorge de tas de petits restaurants , de discothéques c'est animé la nuit.
La nuit tombée il faut se déplacer en taxi
- le coût de la vie : assez élevé compter 25% de plus qu'en France.Les revues françaises coutent cher.
Ceci dit si on vit localement alors évidemment c'est moins cher.
Je crois que la viande coûte cher par contre le poisson est moins onéreux
Peut être que les produits importés d'occident sont chers, mais pour le reste, qu'il s'agisse de nourriture (marché, magasin, restaurants...), de vêtements, de transports... les prix m'ont semblés ridiculement bas !
Juste une petite bémol, comme sa été souligne, je peux confirmer que le cout de la vie est moindre comparer a la France; ceux ci dit, la plupart des expatrier (généralement les francais ) vont approvisionner dans les grandes surfaces (casino, leader price ), ce qui fait que la facture grimpe vite avec les produits qui viennent de France...
Sinon, y'a pas mal de commerce, locaux avec des produits plutôt orientale, et assez abordable, et franchement sa vaut le détour.....

Y'a pas mal de villa, dans les quartier proche ds bases françaises, avec un standing assez correcte mais cependant il faudra mettre la main aux porte monnaie, pour info une villa de 5 chambre avec jardin et gardien coute a peu pres 1000 euro, sans charge comprises, et penser aussi j'oubliai l'électricité a Djibouti coute plus cher que en France (envi 18cEuro/Kwh , en france ss 10cEuro), alors penser a faire des économies dans ce sens, et ss bon pour la planète.....
Cote loisir /// déplacement dans le pays
Je dois dire que Djibouti est très sécuriser, pas de grande banditisme connue pas de quartier chaud, sinon comme tous pays prendre des mesures de précautions dans les quartier populaires...
En ville y'a pas mal de resto avec plein de spécialité de la région, et aussi plein de resto proposant des variétés culinaires françaises (le Francolin, l'historil, le longchamps, etcccc)...tous les gourmands sont de sortit....
Sinon visite les différentes région du pays, et pour sa le 4x4 sera impeccable dans les piste sableuses de l'arrière pays, trekking et sensation forte garantie....
- Région du Sud (Faire du char a voile sur une plaine désertique du BARA)
- Region du Nord, Voir les foret du day (nature extraordinaire), la foret de mangrove , les iles ou ya moyen de nager avec les requin baleine....
Et la région la plus chaude de l'Afrique ''le lac assal ", un lac situe a -150m au dessous du niveau de la mer, dans un paysage extraordinairement brulée, (éviter sa la période chaude).....

J'ai cependant beaucoup de mal à me faire une idée en ce qui concerne un peu l'ambiance qui règne à Djibouti; j'ai eu des nouvelles directement de certains collègues qui y travaillent et ça n'a pas l'air top du tout mais là ça dépend de ce que chacun recherche...Toujours est-il que les collègues me disent que l'ambiance n'est pas toujours bonne, ni entre les expats, ni entre français et locaux; les choses restent très cloisonnées; les sorties et les loisirs aussi surtout lorsqu'on sort de la ville.
