J’ai déjà posté une discussion sur le forum car je souhaite m’installer en Guadeloupe en septembre. J’ai trouvé un poste à Saint-Claude (en attente de confirmation) et j’aimerais avoir des conseils supplémentaires plutôt d’ordre pratique.
J’arrive seule et ne connais personne.
Est-il facile de relier Pointe à Pitre et Saint-Claude en arrivant ? en bus ?
Existe-il des auberges de jeunesse ou loyer bon marché pour qq jours avant de trouver une location ou colocation?
Est-il préférable de chercher une location sur Saint Claude, quels quartiers ? ou les environs ?
Est-ce qu’il vaut mieux acheter une voiture sur place ou faire venir la mienne de métropole par ferry ?
Est-il facile de faire des connaissances ?

Mmm…Si tu parles de ton arrivé de l’aéroport, et donc avec toutes tes valises, je te conseillerais de privilégier le taxi. Le trajet est aussi possible en bus mais dans ces conditions…à bannir !
En revanche je ne connais pas les prix en taxi, mais ça restera de loin beaucoup plus intéressant, car moins de contraintes.

Et ben j’aimerais aussi le savoir lol, parce que je suis en attente des résultats du bac, et je compte intégrer le campus du Camps Jacob qui se trouve à St-Claude.
Mais je pense quand même qu’il y a certains propriétaires qui louent leur appartement.
Des auberges de jeunesses, je crois mais plutôt sur la basse terre, (ce n’est pas très loin de St-Claude).
Enfin en tout cas, si j’ai l’occasion d’avoir des renseignements à ce sujet je t’en ferais part.

Apres si tu trouves un logement sur Basse-Terre, accepte, sachant que ces deux villes sont assez proches l’un de l’autre.

Alors la, la question ne se pose même pas. A moins que ta voiture te pose beaucoup de problèmes et que de toute façon tu avais l’intention de la changer, je te conseille vivement de faire venir la tienne quitte à prendre les transports en commun le temps qu’elle arrive.

La, c’est le même principe dans tous les pays du monde, être sociable, et puis sortir aussi de temps en temps, quoi que sur St-Claude je ne sais pas si il y a beaucoup d’animation (je parle surtout pour le soir).
Et puis, si ya une bonne entente entre tes collègues et toi, quand ils feront des sorties entre eux t’y seras, et puis tu connaîtras des amis a eux ect.

Je suivrai ton conseil pour le taxi, bien plus pratique effectivement.
Par contre, après m'être renseignée pour faire venir ma voiture, ça me semble bien compliqué et je pense plutôt chercher une occasion sur place..
Je veux bien que tu me tiennes au courant si tu as plus d'info sur les logements.

L'aéroport Saint claude en taxi? n'y pense même pas! à moins d'être bien friquée! essaie de voir s'il n'existe pas de navette entre l'airport et la Basse-terre.. au pire location de voiture.
Si tu préfères le bus, entre point à pitre et Basse terre tu peux trouver des bus plutôt confortables je te conseille d'arriver en semaine car le week end les bus se font très rares.
Il n'existe pas d'auberge de jeunesse ni de camping en Guadeloupe, à la limite des maisons d'hôtes. Pour information Saint-claude à des résidences étudiantes...
Sociabilisation? à moins de tomber sur des Guadeloupéens qui ont passé une partie de leur vie ailleurs, après le boulot, c'est rentrer chez soi. Les Guadeloupéens ne sont pas forcement fans de bar etc, après il ne faut pas généraliser. Je connais mal la Basse-terre mais vu que l'essentielles des soirées, bars etc sont en Grande-terre... ça risque d'être plus compliqué à St Claude.
Pour la voiture.. ben tu peux l'acheter sur place... c'est à toi de voire ce qui te reviendra le moins cher.

Eh non, ca n'a pas marché pour moi et j'ai un peu stoppé mes recherches car j'ai d'autres projets en tête... mais apparement il y a pas mal de gens qui partent s'installer là-bas et qui pourraient te donner des conseils.

If anyone knows the rates charged by movers for a crate to French Polynesia, or what pitfalls to avoid (I know you can get quotes directly from movers, but I’d love insights from actual customers😉).
