J'aimerais savoir si a l'aéroport de Santa Clara ( Cuba), a l'arrivée, a quelle moment il y a une pesée pour appliquer le tarif sur l'excédent de 30 kg. Bagages de soute seulement ou bagages de soute + bagage a main combinés? Ceux qui voyagent en classe Club de Transat et qui ont un total de 40 kg (soute) + 15 kg (bagage a main ) = 55 kg. Savent-t-il qu'il sont 25 kg over selon les lois douanieres de Cuba ? Et combien ca leur coute ?

La limite de 30kg de bagage à l'arrivée à Cuba s'applique uniquement pour les Cubains qui reviennent au pays. Les touristes n'ont pas de taxes à payer, peu importe le poids de leur bagage...
Vous pouvez donc partir l'esprit en paix et la valise pesante!!!😉
Une petite précision... Un douanier un peu zélé peut décider de vous demander la valeur des cadeaux que vous compter laisser à Cuba... Leur loi prévoit que vous avez droit à une valeur 50CUC sans taxes, puis une taxe de 100% si les cadeaux valent entre 51 et 250CUC, 150% entre 251 et 500CUC et 200% entre 501 et 1000CUC...
En pratique, les douaniers vérifient surtout l'équipement électronique (dvd, radio, ordinateur etc) et vous taxerons sur ces objets s'ils ne croient pas que c'est pour votre usage personnel ou pourront vous demander de les enregistrer à votre arrivée. Pour ce qui est des vêtements, souliers, produits de soins personnels, etc, ils passent souvent comme pour votre usage personnel et ne sont pas taxés. Si vous avez des choses qui risquent d'être taxés, je vous conseille d'amener les factures pour prouver leur valeur, mais ils peuvent aussi décider de leur accorder la valeur qu'ils croient juste et qui est souvent bien plus élevés que le prix payé...
tout le personnel de l'aéroport a pour consigne de faciliter les formalités pour les touristes (il faut qu'ils reviennent !)
la valise passe aux rayons avant le tapis roulant, si quelque chose de suspect est repéré l'étiquette de la valise est marquée
dans ce cas et seulement dans ce cas la valise est fouillée

Je suis désolée Poux, mais il n'y a rien à cet effet sur le site des douanes Cubaines... Et je me suis fait confirmer par un officier de l'immigration à Cuba lors d'un précédent séjour que ça s'applique aux Cubains qui reviennent au pays. Ils paient l'excédent en monnaie nationale (CUP). Toutefois, si un Cubain est accompagné par un étranger, son conjoint par exemple, les douaniers pourraient appliquer le tarif aux bagages de l'étranger en allégant que les bagages sont tous à l, usage du Cubains.
Si cela a changé dernièrement, pourriez-vous nous référer au site du gouvernement cubain où l'on pourrait voir cette réglementation? Merci!
En janvier dernier nous sommes allées mon conjoint cubain et moi à cuba. au total 3 valises et un sac sport les 2 valises de mon conjoint avait un total de près de 100 lbs. la seule chose qui lui a été demander c'est si il était seul car je marchait derrière lui, après avoir répondu a la question il s'est écarté et nous a laisser passer. A lire l'information que vous venez de donner, je constate que nous avons été chanceux ...😛

C'est justement à Camagüey que ceux que je connais on dû payer. Deux québécoises et un cubain qui a payé en CUC et non en CUP....
Je sais très bien qu'il n'y a rien là dessus sur le site de la douane cubaine. Il n'y a rien non plus à propos que les cubains doivent payer en pesos cubains s'ils arrivent avec plus de 30kg. Il n'y a rien non plus à propos du 60 cuc à payer lorsque les gens apportent un dvd. Le site de la douane cubaine dit seulement ce qu'on a droit et ce qu'on a pas le droit d'apporter à Cuba.
Voilà! Elles étaient avec un Cubain!!! J, ai mentionné que les touristes qui accompagnent un Cubain revenant au pays vont parfois se faire peser et cherger la taxe, le motif officiel donné étant que ce qu'elle transporte est en fait à l'intention du Cubain. Ils font donc entrer ça dans la limite de 30kg du Cubain et les touristes sont traitées comme des "complices"...
Pour le dvd, oui, il y a quelque chose là-dessus sur le sit, mais pas dans ces mots là. Il est prévu que une taxe de 100% s'applique pour tous les cadeaux dont la valeur excède 50CUC. dans le cas des dvd, s, il n, est pas portatif, les douaniers peuvent prendre pour acquis que c'est un cadeau et que ça ne sert pas à un usage personnel. Quand à la valeur de l, équipement, ils peuvent se fier sur la facture qui sera donnée (si le touriste en a une) mais ils peuvent aussi choisir d'établir un peu la valeur qu'ils veulent, souvent entre 50-60CUC. DOnc dans le cas que vous mentionnez, les douaniers ont décidé que le dvd était un cadeau et qu'il avait une valeur de 60CUC, d'où la taxe du même montant.
Je maintiens ce que je dis (et qui m'a été confirmé par un agent des douanes à Cuba): il n'y a pas de taxes pour plus de 30kg pour les touristes, juste pour les Cubains.
Et en passant, s'il n, avait aps son PRE, il aurait pu payer en CUP. Mais s'il avait son PRE, il devait payer en CUC car il est considéré comme résident étranger. seul les résidents Cubains paient en CUP.
J'ai écrit deux québécoises et un cubains que je connais, j'ai jamais dit qu'ils étaient ensemble. C'est trois situations différentes, trois personnes différentes, trois journées différentes. Tous ont dû payer en CUC. Une des filles en question, va plusieurs fois par année à Camagüey, elle a toujours plus de 30 kg à chaque fois et elle doit toujours payer.
Pour les dvd, même en apportant la facture (29.99$+tx chez Wal-Mart) la taxe de 60 cuc est chargée car supposément que c'est la taxe pour apporter un dvd à Cuba. Ça n'a aucun lien avec le 50$ de cadeaux qu'on peut apporter sans payer de taxes.
Si tu connais Cuba aussi bien que tu le prétends, tu dois bien savoir que ce n'est jamais pareil partout et tu n'auras jamais la même information d'une personne à une autre. Le Consulat va te dire quelque chose, le site de la douane cubaine dit autre chose, l'agent des douanes aussi te dira autre chose. Et si tu demandes à deux ou trois agents des douanes dans la même aéroport, tu auras deux ou trois informations différentes. Qui dit vrai? Probablement personne.
La seule chose que j'ai dit c'est que oui la taxe peut être chargée à des touristes s'ils apportent plus de 30 kg de bagages. Ça ne veut pas dire que tout le monde vont la payer cette taxe, mais c'est possible que des touristes doivent la payer. Plus souvent que tu vas au même endroit, plus sévères ils sont.
La taxe si on a plus de 30 kgs elle est pour tout le monde normalement, mais les touristes sont soignés (il faut qu'ils reviennent)donc ils ne passent pas à la pesée

elle a encore moins le droit d'exister maintenant que les dvd sont autorisés à la vente à cuba
le nombre de voyages n'a rien à voir car le douanier ne sait pas si c 'est un 1er voyage ou le 20ème
Voilà, j'ai trouvé la résolution du gouverenement sur l'importation à des fins non commerciale. peut-être avant cette résolution, il y avait une limite de 30kg, je n'en sais rien. Ce que je sais, c'est que depuis le 1 juin 2007, voici coment cela fonctionne:
Tout le monde à le droit à un maximum de 1000CUC d'importation. POur toute importation de moins de 50.99CUC, il n'y a pas de taxe, après, c'est taxé graduellement. Voici l'extrait:
Primero: Eximir del pago de los derechos arancelarios a los pasajeros que importen productos por un valor total de hasta cincuenta pesos con noventa y nueve centavos ($ 50.99) en cada viaje. Segundo: Los artículos que importen los pasajeros en exceso de los cincuenta pesos con noventa y nueve centavos ($50.99) a que se refiere el Resuelvo Primero y hasta un valor de mil pesos ($1 000.00), pagarán una tarifa progresiva en correspondencia con el valor de la importación, como se establece a continuación: a) de $ 51.00 hasta $ 250.99 100 % b) de $ 251.00 hasta $ 500.99 150 %
c) de $ 501.00 hasta $ 1000.00 200 %
Les Cubains qui ne sont pas résidents étrangers et les étrangers résidents de Cuba paient en CUP, tous les autres en CUC:
Tercero: El pago de los derechos arancelarios, que se establece en esta Resolución, será abonado en pesos cubanos (CUP) por los siguientes pasajeros: a) cubanos residentes permanentes en el territorio nacional, y b) los extranjeros residentes permanentes en el territorio nacional. en las monedas extranjeras autorizadas por el Banco Central de Cuba.
Alors c'est ce que dit la loi. Toutefois, ça ne veut pas dire que les agents de la douane ne vont pas essayer de vous en passer une en vous disant que c'est une limite de 30kg, car ça doit être beaucoup plus facile pour eux de peser une valise que d'établir quels biens servent à votre usage personnel et quels sont pour l'importation... En plus, établir la valeur de chaque biens, ça doit être la galère...
Mais si on vous dit 30kg, battez-vous, demandez à voir le chez, montrez-leur la résolution, ça marche bien. Les Cubains en autorité (aux douanes ou ailleurs) font parfois leur dur à cuire comme ça, mais quand on leur montre qu'on sait de quoi on parle, ils deviennent très compréhensifs...Pour moi en tout cas, mais c'est vrai que c'est plus facile quand on est capable d'argumenter en espagnol...😉
Et comme le dit Mariecris, les agents favorisent le tourisme et ont comme instruction de ne pas trop nous déranger, alors la très grande majorité des gens n'auront jamais, mais alors jamais aucun problème avec ça. Je suis allée très souvent à Cuba, dont 12 fois dans les 3 dernières années, et je n'ai jamais eu aucun problème avec les douanes. Ce n'est pas une garantie, mais il ne faut pas s'en faire pour des choses peu probables...

Je crois qu'il faut certaines prende précautions en ce qui concerne Cuba car les choses peuvent tourner au vinaigre à tout moment. Il est clair que les gens qui vont là-bas sont surtout des touristes, on supose qu'ils n'auront pas beaucoup de cadeau à apporter donc, on les a pas vraiment dans la mire des douaniers. C'est pourquoi ce sont les cubains où des étrangers qui viennent avec des cubains qui se font vérifer les bagages. Mais attention, si on remarque que vous avez trop ils peuvent vous passez aux peignes fins. Il faut croire en tant que touriste que vous avez le droit de tout amener et qu'on vpus laissera passer sans problème.
J'ai dejà vu en Juin dernier un touriste qui avait amené un portable neuf (ordi) passer deux heures au bureau des douanes pour qu'on puisse notifier son ordinateur de façon à qu'à la fin de son sejour s'il veut retourner chez lui il doit avoir son ordi. Et on lui a même dit s'il s, est fait volé c'est son problème il paiera les mêmes taxes prévues.
Une suisse a dû aussi se debrouiller pour expliquer aux douaniers pourquoi elle avait deux appareils numériques.
Moi, je crois que Cuba reste et demeure Cuba on peut avoir des surprises alors si on peut faire ce qui est inscrit c'est tant mieux.

I bought a one-way flight (Ryanair) and a return flight (EasyJet) to spend a week in Morocco in April.
My passport expires 3 weeks after the return date.
Some websites say the passport must be valid for 3 months at the time of entry.
However, it will still be valid both on entry and return, but its validity will only be 1 month at the time of entry (and 3 weeks on the return date, everything prepaid).
It's an individual family trip.
The consulate can't give me an answer—they're still looking into it (really!)
Last year, we stayed for 3 months in Thailand, north of Khao Lak, and were able to benefit from the 2-month visa exemption, renewable for one month by going to Takua Pa to validate a 1-month extension (1,900 baht).
This year, it’s a disaster for us—not only were we planning a 4-month stay, adding a visa run in between (which some say is quite risky), but the law is apparently changing in the coming months with the return of the 1-month exemption (plus the usual 1-month option). So, we looked into applying for a 6-month multiple-entry visa, allowing a maximum of 60 consecutive days in Thailand. However, I can’t find anywhere the minimum time required outside Thailand between two stays—do any of you have an idea?

If I get this visa, once I arrive in Madagascar, I’ll need to provide the same documents to the Ministry of the Interior in Anosy. I’m trying to find an email address or website for the Ministry to check which documents I need to submit (I think they ask for additional ones).

I’d like to know if anyone has already applied for a private visa to Russia with an invitation from a Russian resident.
I traveled earlier this year with an e-visa, but since I want to stay longer, I’ll be visiting my friend who lives in eastern Russia.
For the visa application, does the invitation need to be on an official paper form issued by the Russian ministry? And most importantly, do I need to present the original for the application, or is there an electronic version that can be sent directly to the consulate in France?

I filled out the B2 form to apply for a visa, created an account on Atvis to pay the visa fees and schedule a meet-up, but every time I try to pay with my Boursobank Visa 1st card, they refuse the payment with a message telling me to check my details (address), even though everything is correct. Does anyone know why this is happening, or maybe they don’t accept Visa cards? Are you aware of this?

On her passport, it’s written as Martine DUPOND épouse AVRY.
No issues for travel, I hope I did the right thing with the ticket?
Then for the ESTA, is just Martine DUPOND enough, or do I need to include the "épouse AVRY" part like on the passport?

I saw on the French Embassy in Peru’s website and the Peruvian Consulate in Paris’s site that the rule is to have a passport valid for 6 months *after the arrival date* (not the return date).
I arrive in Peru on August 13, 2019 (for about twelve days), and my passport is valid until February 16, 2020.
That’s 6 months and 3 days after my arrival date in Peru. In my opinion, I’m good to go.
But could I still be denied entry if they say I don’t cover the return date or that I’m too close to the 6-month mark?

My departure is slowly approaching, and now that I’ve got my Russian visa sorted, I’m fine-tuning the rest of my trip to Tajikistan. Since the Tajik visa is no longer required for stays under 30 days (for French nationals), I’ll need to visit the Ministry of Interior (OVIR) to register within 10 days of entering the country. No big deal, though, since I had to go there anyway to apply for my GBAO permit. 😉 However, I’ve *seen* several reports from travelers (mostly motorized) mentioning that you need an entry permit for Kyrgyzstan, which has to be arranged in advance at the Kyrgyz Ministry (consulate?) in Dushanbe. Otherwise, you’re *stuck* at the Kyzyl-Art border (with no Wi-Fi, of course, to try and sort it out). The most recent report was from a year ago, so I’d love to know if this is still the case and if it’s indeed at the Kyrgyz Ministry (consulate?) where you need to go for this pre-authorization.

I already have my round-trip ticket.
The problem is, I don’t have time to get a 2-month visa because the process takes nearly a month.
From what I’ve read here and there, I need a return ticket valid for less than a month when I arrive in the Philippines to prove my good faith.
After that, I can apply for a 30-day extension at the immigration office.
I’m planning to either buy a fully refundable ticket to the nearest country or a fake ticket.
For 3 months, I’ll need to extend my visa two more times before my return date to France.
My question is this:
Will immigration ask me each time I extend my visa by one month to show proof of an exit ticket matching the new visa extension date?
Is it possible to extend directly by 2 months before the initial 30 days expire?

My partner (Mexican) entered France on January 21st as a tourist. She was therefore entitled to stay for 90 days in the Schengen Area. She’ll be leaving for Mexico on April 16th, so she’ll have “used up” 86 days.
She plans to return to France on July 18th. According to the European Commission’s Schengen calculator, this new stay “may be authorized for a maximum of 90 days.” That’s not very clear ("may be," "for a maximum of").
The text of Article 6 of the European regulation (2016/399) states that for a stay planned in the territory of the Member States, not exceeding 90 days in any 180-day period, one must examine "the 180-day period preceding each day of the stay." That’s not very clear either.
My partner wants to return to France for a 90-day period starting on July 18th. Is this possible?
There are two ways to look at it:
1) The first day she spent in the Schengen Area was January 21st. That day will drop out of the calculation 180 days later, on July 20th.
From July 20th, she’ll get back 1 day of possible stay; on July 22nd, 2 days; and so on. All the days from her previous stay (January 21st–April 16th) need to be outside the 180-day rolling window.
The last day of her stay was April 16th. Looking 180 days ahead, that brings us to October 13th. From that date, she’ll be able to return for a full 90 days.
2) The number of allowed days is calculated for each day of the new stay. In other words: the 180-day window is recalculated every day, not fixed at the entry date.
If she re-enters France on July 18th, she’ll only have a “credit” of 4 days. But with each day of her new stay, one day from the previous stay (January–April) will drop out of the calculation. The rolling window allows her to “replace” days from the previous stay with those of the new stay, without ever exceeding 90 days in any 180-day period.
In this case, my partner could stay in France for 90 days starting on July 18th.
The Prefecture doesn’t provide any information, nor does Air France, and in the forums I’ve checked, opinions are divided. Thanks for any insights you can share!

We’re planning to travel to Indonesia (Sulawesi with family) next July and August for a stay longer than a month (about 6 weeks).
I’ve seen that it’s possible to get a 60-day visa before departure, but I’ve also read about people having a lot of trouble getting it (some even didn’t manage and had to leave without it).
We absolutely need to have these 4 visas BEFORE leaving because once we’re in Sulawesi, I’m not sure we’ll be able to go to an embassy to request a visa extension after 30 days.
In short, how can we **100% guarantee** that we’ll get our 4 60-day visas before our trip this summer?

We’re heading back in October for a trip through Botswana, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
I have a question: for our route, we’ll need to cross the Zambia and Zimbabwe borders twice each. From experience, I know we won’t have any issues with Botswana.
But for the other two countries, I can’t find a clear answer.

I’m currently a student on a gap year, and I don’t plan to go back to school right away. That said, traveling really interests me. But I’ve been wondering: does being a student come with any perks when you decide to go abroad? The real question is whether I should re-enroll in a program just to keep that status without actually attending.

I’m French and live in France, and my Thai girlfriend just told me she’s pregnant—she lives in Thailand. First step, a paternity test to set my mind at ease. What steps do I need to take to recognize the child? Can I do it before the birth or only after? Where do I need to go, and what paperwork is required?
Just to clarify, I want him to stay in Thailand but be able to come to France anytime without any issues!
