Mon premier post sur ce forum mais je le parcours attentivement depuis un certain temps. Comme vous tous, je suis un grand amoureux de la Thaïlande depuis maintenant 2 ans (oui, encore un).
Tout d’abord, je tiens à préciser que j’ai pas mal fureté sur ce forum et sur d’autres avant de poser ces quelques questions ; rien de plus pénible que celui qui veut des infos sans se donner la peine de lever le petit doigt. Par ailleurs, je pense que ce post pourrait en intéresser plus d’un.
Maintenant, j’en suis à un stade où il faut un peu plus individualiser mes recherches donc je fais appel à ce forum d’érudits.
J’envisage de passer un an à Bangkok, ceci dit, je comptais donner un peu de consistance à ma démarche vis-à-vis de mes financiers (papa, maman :-/) en décrochant un diplôme par la même occasion ; socialement, je pense également qu’il s’agit d’un super moyen pour m’insérer dans la vie des Thaïs de ma génération.
Je pose le décor, j’ai actuellement un bac+3 en Droit. Mon université n’offre aucun échange avec une fac Thaïe (et même asiatique) ni les autres uni en Belgique francophone. J’ai donc dû regarder ce qui s’offrait à moi en tant que particulier.
Tout d’abord quelle université choisir ? J’ai l’impression qu’il y a une dichotomie assez marquée entre le top (chula, thammassat, mahidol, abac) et le reste ; cette différence se marque pas mal au niveau du minerval : ça passe du simple au quintuple -- > Une année à Chula 10000€ et à ramkhamhaeng 2000€.
Je ne doute pas qu’au sein de la société Thaïe, cette différence soit importante mais est-ce que Chula est réputée au niveau international, vaut-elle son prix ? Ce n’est pas une petite somme, pour quelques euros en plus, je pourrais avoir accès à des écoles de standing en Europe et en Belgique, pour 1000€, j’ai un enseignement renommé et de qualité (ma fac est mieux classée que Chula et coûte 15 fois moins, pas de vantardise, c’est juste pour la comparaison).
L’envie du voyage et de la découverte étant plus importante que l’envie d’étudier, que me conseilleriez-vous ? L’investissement est-il intéressant pour travailler en Europe ou choisir une université de seconde zone est préférable ?
Pour ceux qui ont déjà tenté l’expérience, avez-vous des pistes à faire connaître dans le domaine juridique ou politique au niveau de l’enseignement en Thaï ou alors une formation utile pour le farang ?

En ce qui concerne les sciences dures, les étudiants thaïs les plus brillants (et les plus aisés) vont au Japon et aux USA.

Mon projet est plutôt simple mais les données sont nombreuses, le projet dans sa substance : passer un an à Bangkok mais ne pas me retrouver comme un touriste à la dérive, avoir une vie sociale, un réseau, vivre comme un véritable citadin. Je connais un peu la ville, en tous cas fort bien son côté touristique et je suis bien renseigné sur les coûts de la vie, du prix d'un khao pad au prix de la bouteille sur RCA, du prix d'un condo en périph au coût d'un hôtel de luxe sur sukhum. La véritable question est comment meubler intelligemment cette année. Ne pas passer mes journées à boire de la léo beer en regardant les camions passés.
Je pense qu'une année d'étude peut être un très bon moyen et voilà ma sous-question : le prix est-il justifié dans une perspective "mondiale" ? Je doute pas que pour un Thaï Chula soit la voie royale. Vu le coût d'une année, similaire aux très bonnes écoles chez nous, je me pose la question. Bosser en Thaï serait un rêve mais je ne me nourris pas que d'espoir et j'aurais voulu connaître la valeur d'un diplôme d'une top unif thaïe sur le marché extrêmement concurrentiel en Europe.
J'ai encore parcouru pas mal de forums anglophones, je pense m'orienter vers une unif "faible" en raison de la différence astronomique de prix. A forciori, si les diplômes se valent sur le marché européen, apparemment, ils ne "valent" (sans aucune moquerie) pas grand chose mais j'aurais dû m'en douter. (apparement, c le même quant à nos diplômes made in europe là-bas, pas beaucoup de distinction entre grandes écoles ou écoles moyennes; parfait c mon cas :-P)
Oui fred, je me doute que l'enseignement en français n'est pas la norme :-P. Je compte bien passer les test requis genre toefl mais avant de m'investir plus avant dans le projet, je veux assurer un peu ma démarche.
Quelqu'un a-t-il une expérience au sein des unifs Thaïes de manière plus générale ?
Les études sont une piste. Je pense qu'il s'agit de la piste la plus aisée à suivre. Les stages non-rémunérés sont déjà difficiles à trouver pour des gens compétents alors avec ma formation de bac3 et mon absence d'expérience, je compte pas trop sur ça. Idem pour les ong, étant donné, que je voudrais rester sur bkk et non en province.
De avis sur la piste des études ? D'autres pistes ?

Passer un an à Bkk et apprendre le thaï pourrait peut-être te permettre d'allier l'utile à l'agréable, à moindre coût, sans te poser de questions sur la suite de ton cursus universitaire?
Si tu intègres une fac pour poursuivre ton cursus de Droit, je ne sais pas à quoi tu peux prétendre par la suite en ce qui concerne la valorisation CV, mais 1 année en milieu étudiant international pourrait peut-être t'offrir des opportunités par la suite, bien que ça me semble très hypothétique.
En tout cas ce sera une année d'ouverture et d'enrichissement formidable, et c'est peut-être le plus important?🙂
J'en suis arrivé à cette conclusion aussi. Définitivement, le milieux étudiant me semble le plus propice à la découverte et à l'échange.
Des cours de thaï, j'en prendrai certainement, c'est le minimum pour s'intégrer, ne serait-ce que les rudiments. Je ne veux pas me cantonner à ça parce que les autres étudiants sont aussi des expats. Bien que ce soit tout aussi intéressant d'avoir des gens d'horizons divers, il n'y a pas la côté local.
Je vais essayer de conjuguer ça avec un programme international dans une fac financièrement abordable.

Euh... Je pourrais personnellement plus facilement me renseigner sur Khon Kaen University😉, donc je peux juste vous conseiller de vous renseigner très précisément sur les programmes internationaux proposés par chacune, ces filières ne couvrant pas tous les domaines ouverts aux Thaïs.
