Ko phi phi, l'entrée au port est de 20b, les gesthouses ou hôtels sont faciles à trouver car près du port mais ne réserver qu'une nuit pour chercher ailleurs si ça ne vous convient pas.Les prix sont de 600 à 1600b environ.. Le centre est exigue voir trop étroit.
Pour les excursions snorkelling demander un guide car personne sur le bâteau pour vous expliquer le circuit d'île en île.
Pour la plongée aussi demander le bon cd car mes amies sont parties avec un autre cd à 1600b.

ko lanta, dans le nord très familiale voir en couple et dans le sud plus d'animation car vous avez accès au centre plus facilement.
Pour le trekking à ko lanta, faites attention car ma soeur et moi allions tomber car le gars n'a pas bien attaché le siège. soyez vigilants!!!
Les massages à ko lanta sont à déconseiller pas sérieux du tout!!!!!

La mer est sale, tee-shirt, basket, plastique, bouteilles etccc.... dégueulasse à pataya beach...Le centre est minuscule et entouré de mangrove, le tour de lîlese fait à pied en 10mn, des chiens errants le long de la plage, des morceaux de verre partout sur le sable et vue horrible avec tous ces bâteaux parkés...
Je déconseille vivement ko lipe car ça ne mérite pas d'y mettre un bath et en plus c cher. sinon moonlight bungalow à 700b et tonsai massage au centre car sérieux.... Aussi j'allais oublier aucune animation à ko lipe, 3 bars ouverts avec des bières qui datent de 2006....Passez votre chemin, c vraiment moche!!!! si vous avez besoin d'infos nh'ésitez pas!!!!

Je réponds à ton message. Ayant le diplome de massage, je n'ai pas trouvé très sérieux les massages à ko lanta, alors peut-être un coup de pas de chances mais j'ai eu mieux et j'ai vu mieux(plusieurs massages)!!!! Ko lipe pour moi est équivalent à une décharge publique, même si je ne connais pas ko tao.
Le bateau entre ko lanta et ko lipe avec 6h de traversée, 2 changements de bateaux et aucune possibilité sur le 2ème bateau de prendre l'air, à l'intérieur jusqu'au bout du voyage avec l'odeur du carburant. On nous a fait descendre "je ne sais ou" pendant 1h30 avant de reprendre la route. Ok je suis en vacances donc pas préssée, mais à l'agence il faudrait dire la vérité et ne pas mentir sur le temps de trajet surtout à 1500b le voyage. Alors avec 400b de différence autant prendre le speed boat à 1900b. C'est la 10ème fois que je pars en thailande, et je trouve que la thailande s'est dégradée de manière considérable, hausse des prix, qualité de service laisse à désirer. Ce n'est plus ce que c'était!!!!

Si tu cherches à te faire des ami(es) et fumer autre que la cigarette, bienvenue à ko lipe, direction le reggay bar ou seuls les fêtards du soir se rencontrent sur des tapis qui sentent le moisi et infectés de puces!!Apparemment c'était une île magique, il ya 4 ou 5 ans ou tout le monde se cotoyait et ou la mer était transparente. Toutes les personnes que j'aii rencontré se sont barré illico presto et ne reconnaissait plus cette île. Pattaya beach c'est l'horreur, du jamais vu! C bien fini le kolipe des maldives!!!! Laisse tomber ça vaut pas le coup de dépenser un bath pour une île super dégueu!!! Bref, je te suggère de passer ta route et d'aller ailleurs. Sinon au moonlight bungalow, 700 b la nuit avec ventilo et moustiquaire(sur cette île 700b c'est trop pour ce que c'est).... et tu as fais le tour rapido. En face, il ya l'île adang ou faire du snorkelling est sympa ou en apnée. G eu aussi des échos sur ko muk, qui s'est dégradé également...

Effectivement pour la plongée c super sympa, mais étant avec des personnes qui ont peur de la plongée, nous avons fait juste masque et tuba. Me too, ya bien longtemps que je cours plus les chichons bars!!😏
Je suis allée deux fois à Koh lipeh, la dernière remonte à février 2009, soit deux ans après ma première visite et le changement était déjà très notable, surtout en ce qui concerne la grande plage, appelée Pataya. Par contre après le village Chao leh, vers Andaman resort et Mountain view, l'endroit était toujours aussi beau et tranquille.J'espère qu'il en est toujours de même car j'y retourne bientôt pour y passer quelques jours, au Mountain view.Les bungalows les moins chers, 1300 baths petit déjeuner buffet inclus, sont OK et ce que j'apprécie beaucoup c'est pouvoir faire du snorkelling en partant de la plage. Possibilité aussi d'affréter un longtail boat pour la journée pour environ 500 baths si je me souviens bien et aller "snorkeller" sur les petites îles autour de Koh lipeh.
Quand aux 50 baths pour rejoindre les plages depuis le ferry, c'est la rémunération du pêcheur qui n'est pas payé par la compagnie du Ferry. Normal qu'il gagne sa vie non? Vous avez déjà vu un taxi qui vous dépose gratuitement à votre hôtel depuis une gare ou un aéroport?😇
Mais peut-être que l'île s'est tellement dégradée en deux ans que je serai déçue!🤪 Je vous en reparle à mon retour début mars!😎

Bien sur pour ceux qui la connaissait il y a 4/5 ans elle a surement bien changee et c est regrettable.
Neanmoins, la plage n est pas degeulasse ( pour moi pas autant qu a ko phi phi par exemple en janvier 2011) et du cote d andaman resort (on peut planter la tente) quand la mer est calme l eau est absolument trans-lu-cide ! Le snorkeling entre les 2 iles en face de sunrise beach est tres sympa.
Il y a des chiens mais pas mechants du tout ... par contre pour les bout de verre je confirme il y en a quelques un ...
Le centre est petit, mais c est pas plus mal ( et qu il reste ainsi) de facon a ne pas ressembler encore plus a Ko Phi Phi ...
En face, il y a Adang ou l on peut camper aussi, un resort est en train d y pousser ( meme si les traveau sont arrete pour le moment) mais l ile reste un endroit tres reposant.
Voila, ma remarque juste pour nuancer, j ai failli ne pas aller sur Ko lipe parce que j avais lu ... je ne regrette pas, mais alors pas du tout d y etre reste 1 semaine et demi ( avec ko adang).

Oui alors bon... Là je suis larguée... je sais ce que peuvent être les arrières des îles, plastic etc... en Malaisie les perenthian ou ko Chang la grande.
Suis allée à ko phayam (en face de ranong) et c'était le rêve et je voulais poursuivre ce rêve sur Lipe... je fais quoi je reste sur Ko phangan???En fait, j'aime pas trop faire de km. mais envie avec ma ptite fille de bouger on est là un mois que proposez-vous comme alternative? ah m'en fout des bars techno moi c'est plus tôt village thai tranquille, reggae et petit feu on the beach!!!! voilà merci les voyageurs🙂
Koh Lipe a deconseiller ? Je crois que tu devais pas etre la -bas ... C est pas possible on y a passe 5 jours des plus formidable avec des prix a 300 Baht la nuit dans des Bungalows propre et tres confortable ... Pas de dechet dans l eau et des murraines a 25m au large et des coraux dans l ensemble plus vivant que sur la plupart des autres iles ... Incroyable se que tu marques LOL !
comme promis voici un commentaire sur Koh lipe où j'ai passé 10 jours en janvier avec mon mari et un couple dont c'était le premier voyage en Thaïlande.Nous avions déjà été à koh Lipe, une première fois il y a 5 ans puis 2 ans plus tard. Nous avions trouvé de nombreux changements pas pour le mieux mais le séjour fut cependant très sympa, nous étions d'abord à Andaman resort puis à mountain view, poissons et fonds coralliens très beaux à nos pieds et poissons grillés le soir à des prix dérisoires! Les commentaires très négatifs que j'ai lu en décembre dernier, postés par certains internautes m'ont fait craindre le pire😕. En effet nous allons en Thaïlande tous les ans depuis plus de 10 ans pour des séjours d'environ 5 à 8 semaines et nous savons combien d'une année sur l'autre parfois un paradis peut se transformer en enfer! (bon j'exagère un peu!)😇
Finalement nous avons passé un merveilleux séjour du 2 au 12 janvier à koh Lipe. Les fonds marins étaient superbes et je confirme, bien mieux que beaucoup d'autres endroits "réputés" (dont koh pi pi, une horreur!🤪). Le séjour au mountain view très sympa pour 1200 baths le bungalow, petit déjeuner buffet compris. Sur la grande plage , où il ne faut pas mettre les pieds dans la journée (invasion de tout: tail boat, touristes, chiens errants, parasols etc...), il est bon de s'y rendre le soir pour y déguster un poisson grillé les pieds dans le sable et le clapotis des vagues , encore faut-il choisir LE bon endroit!(troisième BBQ sur la plage en venant de la rue commerçante)😉
Je vous recommande aussi un petit séjour sur l'île de Koh adang, juste en face, un petit paradis calme et tranquille à 600 bath le bungalow.
Voilà, maintenant à chacun ses envies et préférences. Comme j'adore le snorkelling je pense que je retournerai sur cette petite plage pour des moments inoubliables de beauté et de surprises ( ah! le ballet incessant de centaines de poissons clown dans leurs "anémones" quel spectacle !!!).
Et si je déconseille fortement Kao Lak, si vous passez par là, allez pour la journée sur l'île de Banta shrei (pas sûre de l'orthographe). Cette île n'est ouverte au public que depuis décembre et les fonds sont merveilleux. Peu, très peu de monde (nous étions 2 bâteaux de 12 personnes en tout), et excellente organisation du tour opérateur.
Bonnes vacances à ceux qui partent pour ce merveilleux pays et profitez encore d'endroits privilégiés car en effet le tourisme de masse se développe à vitesse grand V et le résultat est loin d'être sympathique, du moins en ce qui concerne mes goûts.😎

I didn’t plan to return to Thailand this year, but my health conditions mean it’ll be the best place for me to stay between two trips to India. The tourism setup there is so well-organized that it’s the most "comfortable" country for a short visit. Thailand feels too sanitized for my taste, and there’s too much religion, Buddha, and the King, but it’s still the best option given how my health has been evolving. I’d considered two weeks in ThaTon for hiking, but I got too sick from the burn-offs during my trips to the mountains around Chiang Rai. So I’m not sure where to go this year. Definitely not the sea, touristy spots, or the mountains with burn-offs...

In 1996, we crossed Vietnam from Saigon to Hanoi by motorbike—Minsk bikes we bought in Saigon. I haven’t been back since, and it seems like a lot has changed.
- We’re heading to the south (well, the north and center) with the family in July-August (3 people).
- Is the road network more developed now? Back then, there was only National Route 1 from south to north. I’m thinking of renting a car this time (no motorbike with the family—though in ’96, they had a Jawa sidecar for sale, and we hesitated… maybe it’s for the best).
- Is Halong Bay really something to avoid because of overtourism? Even back then, it was pretty crowded. Is there a less touristy alternative?
- We’ll be traveling from Hanoi down to Danang (the only city we didn’t stop in back in ’96). Even though it’s a bit overhyped in a Chinese-tourist kind of way (from what I’ve read), we’re only going for the beach—pure relaxation for 7 days. The beaches are stunning, and I know the South China Sea is warm like coffee.
- Then, we’ll visit Hoi An, where I stopped in ’96. It was already popular with backpackers back then, but no glowing boats or all the touristy fuss!
- After that, Hue, where I have great memories—it’s a beautiful city.
- And also the nature around Ninh Binh, followed by 2-3 days in Hanoi.
That’s the plan. I’d love to hear any tips to avoid mass tourism, and if anyone’s done this before:
- Is it possible to rent a car in Danang and drop it off in Hanoi?

I’m struggling to wrap up the end of my itinerary, even though it’s pretty straightforward (long but simple).
Last year, we did Malaysia (KL and the mainland + around Kuching).
Day 1 – Arrive in Kota Kinabalu early, stroll around town and hit the must-sees.
Day 2 – Excursion to Tunku Abdul Rahman Park, snorkeling at 3 islands.
Day 3 – Hike around Mount Kinabalu without summiting (450 per person, no way).
Day 4 – Poring Hot Springs + evening flight to Sandakan.
Day 5-6-7 – Kinabatangan River (still looking for the right guide).
Day 8 – Sepilok for the orangutans, the Sun Bear Centre, and Rainforest Discovery Centre.
Day 9 – Selingan, turtle island.
Day 10 – Head to Semporna.
Day 11-12-13-14 – Sipadan, Mabul, Kapalai.
Day 15 – Bohey Dulang.
Day 16 to Day 25: I’M STUCK.
I looked into Danum Valley, but for 3 days/2 nights, they’re quoting 650 € per person—come on, that’s ridiculous.
I checked out a detour into Indonesia (still East Borneo), but I’m having trouble deciding what would be amazing.
I read about Sangalaki + Kakaban (2 islands, 1 base) / Mahakam Delta - Kutai (orangutans and river) / Sungai Boh (Dayak Kayan) – jungle & culture.
But honestly, I’m struggling to finalize this itinerary.
If we venture that way, we’d head back to KK from Balikpapan.
For a 4-month stay in Egypt, I had ENORMOUS problems. The regulations are very bureaucratic and extremely nitpicky there. For a 4-month stay in the Philippines, I was wondering if the procedures are just as complicated? I’m bringing my cell phone with an eSIM. Should I choose a plan from Canada for use in the Philippines, or should I get a plan only once I arrive? After 30 days, do I renew with the Canadian provider I chose before leaving, or do I switch to a local company? Do I need to register my phone with the authorities in the Philippines? (That was the case in Egypt.) For the 3rd and 4th months, will it be just as simple—renewing with a Canadian or local provider—or should I expect problems?

We like to decide things on the spot and go with the flow, without rushing everywhere. But I’m still a bit unsure: when heading down to the center (Hue), is it better to book the overnight trains in advance? We don’t want to take any flights while we’re there—just use the overnight train for the long trips. But I’m worried we won’t get seats if we buy the tickets on the spot, say, 2 days before. I’d love to get some feedback on our itinerary—it’s probably pretty basic! This is our second trip to Asia and our first to Indonesia. We have three kids aged 20, 18, and 12. We land in Jakarta at 4 PM, spend 3 nights/2 days there, then take the train to Yogyakarta for 3 nights/2 days, followed by the train to Surabaya for 2 nights/1 day, then the train to Bromo for 1 day/1 night, a private driver to Ijen for 2 nights/2 days, then on to Bali (Ubud) for 4 nights/3 days, followed by Gili Air for 3 nights/2 days, Senggigi (Lombok) for 2 nights, and finally 5 nights in Kuta. I’m considering cutting the 2 nights in Senggigi to just keep Kuta and extend it to 7 nights. In Lombok, I’m not sure how to get around since I’m not comfortable with scooters... Your thoughts on all of this, and any advice, are more than welcome—don’t hesitate!
For those wondering why cities like Jakarta and Surabaya: we don’t often get the chance to visit big Asian cities, so we wanted to include that discovery in our trip. The trains between Jakarta and Yogyakarta, Surabaya and Probolinggo are booked. The return flight from Lombok to Jakarta is also set. Accommodations are booked but flexible (same for the trains).

Any advice? I was thinking of Malaysia or Indonesia, like Sulawesi, for example (all countries and islands in Southeast Asia interest me except Bali).

My girlfriend and I booked our tickets with Saudia Airlines for a trip to Thailand this summer, from July 5th to August 3rd. Given the geopolitical situation in the Middle East, we’re keeping a close eye on the news.
I was wondering if anyone here is in the same situation as us?
• Have you heard anything about possible mass cancellations or if the airline is still maintaining its routes to Asia?
• Are there any travelers who’ve recently returned who could tell us if air corridors have been changed (longer flight times)?

July 30: Makassar – sightseeing
July 31: Makassar – sightseeing + overnight bus to Rantepao
August 1–7: Tana Toraja with a guide
August 7: Tana Toraja to Tentena + visit Tentena
August 8: Early departure with a private driver to Ampana, then ferry to the Togian Islands
August 9–15: Togian Islands (2 different resorts)
August 15: Depart Togian Islands for Luwuk
August 16: Flight Luwuk to Makassar
August 17: Rammang Rammang
August 18: Stroll in Makassar, then return home
Overall, what do you think?
I also have a question about the connection between Tentena and the Togian Islands: Is it doable to leave early in the morning as planned and still be sure not to miss the ferry?

I’m currently working on a 30-day itinerary for May/June 2027.
10 days in eastern Java (Malang, Bromo, waterfalls, Meru Beriti Park, Banyuwangi, and Ijen), a short transit in Ubud for a few days, then Flores before heading back to Jakarta.
We’ll spend 15 days in Flores (the classic route: Moni, Bajawa, Riung, Ruteng, ending in Labuan Bajo).
I’d love some firsthand feedback on flights to Maumere or Ende from Bali Denpasar. I know there are no direct routes and that you have to connect through Labuan Bajo or Timor (I think), which isn’t an issue in itself.
But I’ve read here and there that flights to these destinations can be delayed—or worse, canceled—and that it’s better to fly in and out of Labuan Bajo, which isn’t exactly ideal...

Family of 4—2 adults and 2 kids (11 and 15) who are well-traveled.
We’re planning a 15-day trip to Indonesia and would love your thoughts on our itinerary.
We love discovering local culture, food (!!), seeing beautiful landscapes, and keeping an active pace. We’re not the type to lounge on the beach for 5 hours or spend ages by the pool when we’re halfway across the world. Also, we try to avoid places "ruined" by mass tourism (like Holbox in Mexico, which we loved 10 years ago but not at all on our last visit, or Phi Phi in Thailand, completely destroyed by mass tourism).
Special note: we love traveling by train :)

Borobudur in the morning, then exploring nearby villages.
**Day 3**
Prambanan in the morning, followed by culinary discovery / market / local vibe in Yogyakarta.

Train to Jombang, then driver/bus to the Bromo area. Overnight stay.
**Day 5**
Sunrise at Bromo, exploring the volcano and sea of sand. Relax in the afternoon.
**Day 6**
Travel to eastern Java, then train, ferry, and road to reach Sidemen in Bali.
**Day 7**
