avant hier soir j'etais inviter pour l'annif de la soeur de Mayeree avec ses freres et soeurs......
Evidemment s'etais pas tous a fait ce que j'avais imaginer....En fait s'etais bien un karaoke, pratiquement en face de chez elle....Dans des petites rues sans touristes...Vraiment traditionelle...Effectivement sa mere et ses soeurs etais la...Toutes ces soeurs accompagner d'un Farengs🤪🤪Et oui.....C'est comme ca....
Donc je me suis retrouver avec des Amerlocs, un Allemand .....Super....S'etais vachement moins tradiotionnel que le matin....Apres nous sommes allez voire d'autres soeurs a elle et un de ces freres qui ont des echoppes alimentaires.....Hier matin, nous nous sommes reveiller et j'ai ete voir pour acheter mon billet pour Ko Chang....Evidementje l'ai rater...Donc deux solutions, premier je reste encore une nuit a Pattaya ou je par pour Ko Shamet, j'ai donc decider de partir sur Ko Shamet.300baht, pour le bus(environ 2h00)et le bateau(environ 55 min)bien entendu, ils ont oublier de nous preciser qu'il falais rajouter 400 baht de taxes😕....Arriver a Ko Samet, le prix du taxi est de 200 baht, je decide donc de louer ilico une mobylette, comme ca j'evite le taxi...Le loueur me demmande 400 bath, je negocie et l'ai pour 300 bath, content de moi je m'envais sans verifier la mob, evidement pourie avec des vitesse dur a changer et mon gros sac a dos a porter...Premierre Guest, full, deuxieme, full, troisiemme, full, j'arrive desesperer a la quatrieme, il leur en reste une a 300 bath....Evidement aussi pourrie que la mob, pas de clim, pas de toilette ni d'eau....Je la prend quand meme...Apres je pars me promener en mob pourrie, je m'eloigne, apres tous le ressort, je passe les rues ou les locaux habites, puis plus rien et j'arrive tout au bout du chemin, pas moyen d'aller plus loin....Je fais demi tour, une petite epicerie, je m'arrette pour acheter un coca et la je vois un petit bungalow en travaux et derriere deux autres juste au bord de l'eau...Entre le dernier bungalow et l'eau, meme pas dix metres....Je demande quand meme, et le premier est en travaux, le second est occuper par celui qui fait les travaux, mais il reste celui au bord de l'eau....Equiper de salle de bain, clim, frigo et tv avec satelite...Je reve....Et pour 650 bath....Evidement je le prend et tant pis pour les 300 bath.....Vraiment il est super...Apres je m'arrette un peu plus loin dans un bar ou la fille qui y travaille me renseigne la seul discotheque de l'ile....Oui oui une discotheque plein air, une vrai...Pas un bars a filles....En fait ca ne change pas grand choses, ca reviens a la meme chose mais fait differement et beaucoup beaucoup moins chere, ici une bouteille d'alcool est a 300 bath, 7.5 euros....Soit passons les details de la soirees.....
Le reveil fut superbe, se reveiller sur la plage, c'est bien.....Une vue imprenable...Je decide donc de biens continer la journee et je vais changer de mob...Elle bien maintenant😉....
Vers 13 h00 j'ai ete manger dans le rue ou il y a les locaux, toujours aussi bon la nourriture....Et apres arriver a mon bungalow, j'ai decider d'aller nager, je suis la dans cette mer ou l'eau est chaude, j'ai une vue fantastique, des iles en face, la jungle derriere moi et moi seul dans l'eau....Oui seul, personne de ce coter ni sur la plage ni dans l'eau...A cette instant je suis le roi du monde et je me dis......Non alors non, demain je ne pars pas, je reste ici...

je te confirme la bière corse est une réalité, elle s'appelle " Piétra", elle est faite a partir de farine de chataigne, et elle est excellente, et j'avoue que pour moi c'est une des meilleures !!

Juste un petit à coté au post initial de Davdevil...la fête d'anniversaire avec les frères et les soeurs en grosse quantité. Il n'est pas certain que tous ces frères et soeurs l'aient été au sens familial du terme. En Thailande, suivant des règles pas toujurs simples à comprendre on est toujours "Nong" petit frère ou "Pi" grand frère de quelqu'un. Cela dépend de l'age, du statut social, du degré d'intimité, etc... Souvent quand ils ne matrisent pas assez l'nglais, ou quand cela les arrange, on va vous présenter un ou une amie comme Nong ou Pi, et la traduction en anglais va devenir sister ou brother... C'est un des charmes de la Thailande de décrypter tout cela, mais ce n'est rien à coté des règles qui régissent le Wai, le salut que les Thais échangent. les règles qui le régissent doivent pouvoir faire un bouquin équivalant en pages au dernier Goncourt. Donc Mayuree avait beaucoup de frères et de soeurs...mais pas forcément du même père et de la même mère...

je suis toujours a Ko Samet mais demain je part pour Bangkok car la personne qui a l'origine devais partir avec moi et qui ma plante une semaine avant de partir, qui est en fait ma concubine a changer d'avis et arrive le premier a Bangkok.....Je verrais donc la Thaillande d'un tout autre oeil que seul....C'est sur🙂....Ce qui n'est peut etre pas plus mal....
J'avais zaper les details de ma premiere soiree, en me disant que s'etais sans interret, du rechauffer....En fait j'ai fais une nouvelle rencontre cette soiree, la fille du bar qui m'avais rensigner la discotheque, ben oui elle est arriver....Nous avons donc passer le soiree ensemble, ses parents sont les patrons du bar, du salon de coiffure, du resto et du magasin de vetement qui se trouve a coter du bar....Pas mal....Nous avons beaucoup bu et j'etais mao(saoul), nous sommes donc rentrer ensemble, je la trouve tres sympa Moin...Le matin apres avoir quitter le cyber apres le conte rendu du 26, je devais la rejoindre au bar, ce que j'ai fait....Et la la premiere chose qu'elle me dis, c'est ce matin mama a travailler a ma place donc il faut payer mama....Ouais, evidemment, ca aurais ete trop beau....Je fais semblant de pas tout comprendre, donc elle me dis cash one night, one duizen🤪🏴☠️boum....Ben vi, je veux lui donner, non non, c'est a maman qu'il faut payer🤪🏴☠️.....J'y crois pas!!Heben ouais j'ai du donner les sous a sa mere, c'est comme ca, c'est normal....Apres ca j'ai ete faire du jet ski 1200 baht la demi heure, super, jlai fait decoler grave, sauf un sault que je n'ai pas amortis🤪, j'ai dechirer mon short a 150 baht en plein, de devant a derriere, il me restais que le filet interieur, vous imaginez....J'ai encore trouver le moyen de bien les faire rire....Le soir j'ai ete manger dans un resto normal, mon repas a peine terminer, j'entend une douce voix....Hello wa you from....Alors celle la si jlai pas entendu 10000 fois....Et oui je me fais racoler au resto...Je m'envais boire un bagets au San, evidement Moin arrive, je lui explique que je ne veux pas rentrer avec elle, scandale....Je veux une nouvelle fille ect ect ect...Elle part facher, au moins 4 personne qui sont la, que je ne connais pas arrive me passe leur tel ou au bout il y a Moin, donc je suis surveiller....Super...Le landemain je me reveille, la premiere chose que je fais est d'aller me baigner et me coucher sur ma plage....Ca c'est le bonheur.....

Soit, hier soir je retourne au San et la c'est la fille du resto qui s'installe a coter de moi, je boit de nouveau un peu trop et d'un coup je me fais prendre a partis par un katoys qui me reproche que j'ai laisser tomber sa soeur ect ect....Je l'envois chier, ca degenere et je me retrouve avec 3 katoys sur le dos....Et chaud...avec tabouret et compagnie....J'en fracasse un assez violament, ca les calmes, mais la fille me dis go, go y en a 10 qui vont arriver, je me casse vite fais, merde j'avais enlever mes Nike, je veux les recuperer, evidemment on me les a piquer....Je me casse sans shoes...Super....Ce matin je me leve, chance qu'il y a ma plage et ma mer, eux c'est le bonheur, Et ce qui est particulier ici, c'est qu'il peut arriver n'importe quoi, je suis toujours heureux....Apres je decide de partir en ville, evidemment je tombe sur mes copains, je m'arrette, je m'assie a leur table, et je leur demande ces quoi leur souccis...Celui que j'ai fracasse, il etais mao et les autres on vu la dispute et croyais que je l'agressais ect ect....Ca va, sont nez est de travers, sa levre aussi, mais chance il a toute ses dents....Ca me coute donc 4 Chang large et on redeviens copains....Tout est bien qui finis bien....Demain je part et ce soir, je dort....
Tout est particulier ici....Nous n'avons pas les meme valeurs ni les meme aproches....Pour moi certaine choses sont vraiment dur a comprendre....

Tu ne crois pas si bien dire. La semaine fut très chaude, mais pas seulement sur ce post. Promène toi un peu (mais pas trop) et tu vas découvrir des choses intéressantes, mais d'autres nettement moins, genre réglement de comptes.

I’d love to get some feedback on our itinerary—it’s probably pretty basic! This is our second trip to Asia and our first to Indonesia. We have three kids aged 20, 18, and 12. We land in Jakarta at 4 PM, spend 3 nights/2 days there, then take the train to Yogyakarta for 3 nights/2 days, followed by the train to Surabaya for 2 nights/1 day, then the train to Bromo for 1 day/1 night, a private driver to Ijen for 2 nights/2 days, then on to Bali (Ubud) for 4 nights/3 days, followed by Gili Air for 3 nights/2 days, Senggigi (Lombok) for 2 nights, and finally 5 nights in Kuta. I’m considering cutting the 2 nights in Senggigi to just keep Kuta and extend it to 7 nights. In Lombok, I’m not sure how to get around since I’m not comfortable with scooters... Your thoughts on all of this, and any advice, are more than welcome—don’t hesitate!
For those wondering why cities like Jakarta and Surabaya: we don’t often get the chance to visit big Asian cities, so we wanted to include that discovery in our trip. The trains between Jakarta and Yogyakarta, Surabaya and Probolinggo are booked. The return flight from Lombok to Jakarta is also set. Accommodations are booked but flexible (same for the trains).

I didn’t plan to return to Thailand this year, but my health conditions mean it’ll be the best place for me to stay between two trips to India. The tourism setup there is so well-organized that it’s the most "comfortable" country for a short visit. Thailand feels too sanitized for my taste, and there’s too much religion, Buddha, and the King, but it’s still the best option given how my health has been evolving. I’d considered two weeks in ThaTon for hiking, but I got too sick from the burn-offs during my trips to the mountains around Chiang Rai. So I’m not sure where to go this year. Definitely not the sea, touristy spots, or the mountains with burn-offs...

In 1996, we crossed Vietnam from Saigon to Hanoi by motorbike—Minsk bikes we bought in Saigon. I haven’t been back since, and it seems like a lot has changed.
- We’re heading to the south (well, the north and center) with the family in July-August (3 people).
- Is the road network more developed now? Back then, there was only National Route 1 from south to north. I’m thinking of renting a car this time (no motorbike with the family—though in ’96, they had a Jawa sidecar for sale, and we hesitated… maybe it’s for the best).
- Is Halong Bay really something to avoid because of overtourism? Even back then, it was pretty crowded. Is there a less touristy alternative?
- We’ll be traveling from Hanoi down to Danang (the only city we didn’t stop in back in ’96). Even though it’s a bit overhyped in a Chinese-tourist kind of way (from what I’ve read), we’re only going for the beach—pure relaxation for 7 days. The beaches are stunning, and I know the South China Sea is warm like coffee.
- Then, we’ll visit Hoi An, where I stopped in ’96. It was already popular with backpackers back then, but no glowing boats or all the touristy fuss!
- After that, Hue, where I have great memories—it’s a beautiful city.
- And also the nature around Ninh Binh, followed by 2-3 days in Hanoi.
That’s the plan. I’d love to hear any tips to avoid mass tourism, and if anyone’s done this before:
- Is it possible to rent a car in Danang and drop it off in Hanoi?

I’m struggling to wrap up the end of my itinerary, even though it’s pretty straightforward (long but simple).
Last year, we did Malaysia (KL and the mainland + around Kuching).
Day 1 – Arrive in Kota Kinabalu early, stroll around town and hit the must-sees.
Day 2 – Excursion to Tunku Abdul Rahman Park, snorkeling at 3 islands.
Day 3 – Hike around Mount Kinabalu without summiting (450 per person, no way).
Day 4 – Poring Hot Springs + evening flight to Sandakan.
Day 5-6-7 – Kinabatangan River (still looking for the right guide).
Day 8 – Sepilok for the orangutans, the Sun Bear Centre, and Rainforest Discovery Centre.
Day 9 – Selingan, turtle island.
Day 10 – Head to Semporna.
Day 11-12-13-14 – Sipadan, Mabul, Kapalai.
Day 15 – Bohey Dulang.
Day 16 to Day 25: I’M STUCK.
I looked into Danum Valley, but for 3 days/2 nights, they’re quoting 650 € per person—come on, that’s ridiculous.
I checked out a detour into Indonesia (still East Borneo), but I’m having trouble deciding what would be amazing.
I read about Sangalaki + Kakaban (2 islands, 1 base) / Mahakam Delta - Kutai (orangutans and river) / Sungai Boh (Dayak Kayan) – jungle & culture.
But honestly, I’m struggling to finalize this itinerary.
If we venture that way, we’d head back to KK from Balikpapan.
For a 4-month stay in Egypt, I had ENORMOUS problems. The regulations are very bureaucratic and extremely nitpicky there. For a 4-month stay in the Philippines, I was wondering if the procedures are just as complicated? I’m bringing my cell phone with an eSIM. Should I choose a plan from Canada for use in the Philippines, or should I get a plan only once I arrive? After 30 days, do I renew with the Canadian provider I chose before leaving, or do I switch to a local company? Do I need to register my phone with the authorities in the Philippines? (That was the case in Egypt.) For the 3rd and 4th months, will it be just as simple—renewing with a Canadian or local provider—or should I expect problems?

We like to decide things on the spot and go with the flow, without rushing everywhere. But I’m still a bit unsure: when heading down to the center (Hue), is it better to book the overnight trains in advance? We don’t want to take any flights while we’re there—just use the overnight train for the long trips. But I’m worried we won’t get seats if we buy the tickets on the spot, say, 2 days before. My trip’s coming up, and I’m having a bit of trouble with three bus/minivan routes. Usually, I find everything at this time of year, but this time—yikes!
Sandakan → Sepilok:
No app for this one—you just hop on bus #14 at the local terminal (pay cash on board). But where do I catch it, and where’s the stop??
Sandakan → Semporna:
From what I’ve heard, it’s the Sida Express company (great name, right? 😄).
Can’t book online, but apparently, you *have* to because there’s only one bus at 8 AM.
Where do I board, and where does it drop me off?

My girlfriend and I booked our tickets with Saudia Airlines for a trip to Thailand this summer, from July 5th to August 3rd. Given the geopolitical situation in the Middle East, we’re keeping a close eye on the news.

• Have you heard anything about possible mass cancellations or if the airline is still maintaining its routes to Asia?
• Are there any travelers who’ve recently returned who could tell us if air corridors have been changed (longer flight times)?
