Faut t'il payer la famille américaine, etc. Si on pouvait partir à plusieurs (2) dans une famille ? Si on devait obligatoirement avoir le bac ou si on pouvait partir pendant la terminal ? je suis allée comme fille au pair en caroline du Nord et c'était super même si je travaillais 45 heures par semaines mais tout dépend dans quelle famille tu tombes et les besoins qu'ils ont.
Moi j'avais deux enfants de 2 et 4 ans c'était dur des fois mais c'est devenu comme mes propres enfants.
J'avais les matinées de libre pour suivre des cours d'anglais. En plus en me suis fait des amis mexicains, ce qui m'a permis d'aller au Mexique leur rendre visite.
Pour tes questions, tu es payés chaque mois environ 500 CHF, ce n'est pas possible d'être deux filles au pair dans la même famille. Besoins de aucun diplôme seulement d'un bon niveau d'anglais et je te conseille d'avoir 21 ans ou plus sinon tu vas t'embêter...
Pour être au pair aux USA il te faut un visa, et pour cela il faut passer par un organisme. Il en existe plusieurs. Ma fille est partie avec CALVIN THOMAS, mais il y a aussi STS, APIA.....

Il faut avoir entre 18 et 26 ans inclus, être titulaire d’un baccalauréat ou d’un certificat de fin d’études secondaires, et souvent on te demandera le permis de conduire (de toute façon tu ne fais rien aux Etats Unis sans voiture….).
Tu passeras un entretien en anglais et des tests psychologiques.
Pour le niveau d'anglais, il faut savoir se débrouiller, c'est tout.
Si ton dossier est accepté, il te faudra les références de 3 familles où tu as gardé des enfants, et pour t'occuper d'enfants de moins de 2 ans, il faut en avoir gardé pendant un certain nombre d'heures (il me semble que c'est 200 heures mini).
Les frais à ta charge (pour Calvin Thomas):
Frais d'inscription : 49 E (à retourner avec le coupon d'inscription)
Frais de recherche de famille : 180 E (à verser après l'acceptation)
Caution : un dépôt de garantie équivalent à 500 $ est versé avant le départ. Ce dépôt de garantie est remboursé au terme du contrat. Certains organismes ne demandent plus de caution.
Si tu pars aux USA, la famille paye les billets d'avion aller-retour, et tu seras payée 176, 85 $ la semaine (montant fixé par le gouvernement américain). Tu travailleras 45 heures maxi par semaine, et tu auras
2 semaines de congés payés pendant ton année. Si tu ne travailles que 30 heures, tu toucheras la même paye.....
Si tu t'occupes d'enfants scolarisés, tu auras du temps de libre pendant tes journées, mais la famille pourra te demander de travailler le WE. Si tu t'occupes de petits, tu feras tes 45 heures pendant la semaine, mais en principe tu seras tranquille les WE.
Tu auras un visa pour une durée d'1 an, mais tu pourras prolonger ton séjour d'un mois, le 13ème mois, pour voyager aux USA.
Ton année d'au pair peut être prolongée de 2 périodes de 6 mois, donc 2 ans au total.

Si tu veux faire des études aux Etats Unis, il y a d'autres programmes, mais comme tu le dis toi-même, c'est pas le même prix!

Avec Calvin Thomas, tu ne peux pas choisir la ville.
C'est les familles qui te contactent. Tu ne peux pas aller à NY (par ex) si tu n'as que des familles de Denver qui te contactent...
D'autres part, la crise a passé par là. Une au pair coute cher.
Les au pairs mettent plus longtemps pour trouver une famille (3 mois en moyenne il y a 2-3 ans; 6 mois actuellement).
Alors si en plus de ça tu as une destination précise, ce sera très, très dur.

Même si l’article date un peu, les conditions sont toujours les mêmes pour être au pair aux USA (mon message de décembre 2008).
L’argent de poche a passé de 176,85$ la semaine à 195,75$ la semaine.
Pour Calvin Thomas les frais d'inscription sont actuellement de 59E et les frais de recherche de famille de 170E.
Dans ton cas (si tu n’as pas le Bac) il faudrait demander aux organismes (Calvin Thomas, STS, APIA, Cultural Care….) si un CAP petite enfance en formation pour adulte équivaut à un certificat de fin d’études secondaires.
Si ton diplôme est accepté, que tu as de l’expérience avec les enfants (3 références autres que ta famille), que tu as ton permis et que tu te débrouilles en anglais (entretien en anglais, mais on ne te demande pas d’être bilingue) aucun problème pour être au pair aux USA.

Je ne sais pas si les frais de recherche de famille sont négociables si tu trouves ta famille par toi-même.
Mais de toute façon, même si tu as une famille, tu es obligée de passer par un organisme officiel, le même organisme que ta famille. Car pour être au pair aux USA il te faut un visa J1 que tu ne peux obtenir qu’en passant par un organisme officiel (le programme au pair est entièrement géré par le gouvernement américain). Et la famille que tu trouveras sera également obligée de s’inscrire dans un organisme (le même que toi). Prendre une au pair coute cher aux familles…
Si tu veux partir l’été prochain, tu peux t’inscrire en début d’année prochaine.

If anyone knows the rates charged by movers for a crate to French Polynesia, or what pitfalls to avoid (I know you can get quotes directly from movers, but I’d love insights from actual customers😉).
