Finding a job as a foreigner in Japan

Hi there,

I’d love to go to Japan to travel, and if things go well, work there too. Has anyone tried finding a job there? Is it even possible without speaking Japanese? I’m thinking of starting out in restaurants (dishwashing or serving) and then moving into my field, IT.

Hi there, I live and work in Japan. If you don’t speak Japanese, it’s going to be really tough, and a work visa won’t be possible for jobs like dishwashing or restaurant service. I can only advise you to work on your Japanese as much as possible—it’s the best way to live and integrate in Japan. Good luck!

Thanks for the message. However, learning Japanese seems completely out of reach for me. I thought it was possible to get a working holiday visa. Has anyone already left with this visa?
