Je souhaite partir l'été 2011 deux mois aux USA. Pour cela j'aurai besoin de trouver un job aux Etats-Unis. Etant étudiant et n'ayant aucune qualification je recherche un emploi saisonnier. J'attend des conseils pour trouver un travail ainsi que des conseils administratifs étant donner de la complexité du système américain pour moi. 😉
Mon secteur de recherche serai plutôt le Nord Ouest des Etats-Unis si possible en dehors des grandes villes.

Tout d'abord, il faut savoir que pour travailler aux États-Unis, il faut un visa même si l'on ne perçoit pas de rémunération.
Pour les jobs d'étés, les stages, le bénévolat et le travail en tant que "au pair", il faut obtenir un visa J1 qui coute aux alentours de 1000 euros au total pour 2/3 mois. Il faut avoir obtenu le job avant de partir.
Pour obtenir ce visa, il faut passer par un organisme sponsor obligatoirement (c'est malheureusement ce qui coûte le plus cher). Parenthèse Paris est un de ces organismes: http://www.parenthese-paris.com/
Pour trouver des offres, tu peux t'adresser au Club TELI, ils sont sérieux et ils ont beaucoup d'offres à proposer notamment aux États-Unis.

On ne peut pas se faire sponsoriser pour un visa J1.
Cela ne fonctionne que dans le cadre de visas de travail longue durée et pour des gens qui ont au minimum un "Bachelor Degree" (Bac+3 en France).
Les frais à payer à l'organisme oscillent entre 500 et 800 euros donc si tu ajoutes le prix du visa (environ 100 euros actuellement) + le cout de l'appel à l'ambassade pour le RDV (14,50 euros) + les autres frais divers (déplacement jusqu'à et depuis l'ambassade, frais SEVIS...etc.) tu arrives bien aux alentours de 1000 euros.
85 euros c'était les frais de demande de visa uniquement (donc organisme + frais divers non inclus) il y a quelques mois.
Le passage par un organisme est inévitable.
Pas besoin de passer par un organisme pour nous, nous étions en université; donc cette dernière se porte garante.
En revanche pour bosser, à moins d'avoir un piston dans une entreprise, quasi obligé de passer par un organisme tiers.

Par contre, si tu veux partir en tant que "au pair" (= vivre dans une famille et s'occuper de leur(s) enfant(s) en échange d'argent ou pas), il y a moyen de ne pas payer au moins une partie des frais liés au visa si tu passes par un organisme de placement (ex: Cultural Care....).
Encore faut-il aimer s'occuper d'enfants, avoir un peu d'expérience dans ce domaine et le permis de conduire...
si tu veux partir en tant que "au pair" ......il y a moyen de ne pas payer au moins une partie des frais liés au visa si tu passes par un organisme de placement (ex: Cultural Care....)
Au pair, c'est pas gratuit non plus. Avec Cultural Care, ça te revient à 664,50€ + 200€ de caution, restituée à l'issue des 12 mois de séjour d’au pair (Frais de dossier : 550 €, Appel à l'ambassade américaine : 14,50€, Visa pour les Etats-Unis : 100€) et tu t'engages pour 1 an.
Oui, c'est d'ailleurs pour ça que je n'ai dit nulle part qu'on ne paie rien pour être au pair. 😛
Mais j'ai cité Cultural Care car c'était le 1er qui me venait à l'esprit. Je crois bien qu'il ya des organismes moins chers mais je peux me tromper.

J'ai beau me relire, je ne vois pas où est le "mépris dans mes propos". D'autant plus que je n'affirmais rien, je m'interrogeais seulement sur ce que tu avais fait aux EU étant donné que tu as juste dit: "Pas besoin de passer par un organisme pour nous, nous étions en université" ce qui ne dit pas ce que tu faisais dans cette université (job, stage...etc) ni même si c'était une fac française ou américaine qui se portait garante, d'ailleurs.
Autant pour moi alors je n'ai pas lu ton message avec la bonne intonation disons, tant mieux si le mépris n'y était pas.
J'ai bossé en tant que stagiaire (research assistanhip) au MIT dans le département d'electrical engineering, et l'an prochain normalement je pars en double diplôme à Georgia Tech à Atlanta.
Et pour tout ça je n'ai besoin que du J1.
Enfin c'est bien entendu l'université qui m'accueille qui se porte garante à chaque fois.

After living for many years in the West (Belgium, Italy, Switzerland),
I’ve decided to return and settle in Cameroon, my home country.
Currently an entrepreneur in real estate and transport, I’m looking for a partner / partners / foundation to collaborate on an agriculture project, as I own 10 hectares of land.
The hectares have remained unused for years due to a lack of financial means, since the project requires what I’d call a considerable investment. As the main stakeholder, I have a minimal contribution to offer.
