Pour vous expliquer ma situation, j'ai effectué un internship à Dublin pendant 2 mois et demi grâce à un organisme très bon marché de France.
Mais voilà: l'internship vient à sa fin (1 semaine) et je ne souhaite pas revenir dans l'immediat en France!
Etant partie avec un anglais très basic, les premieres semaines ont vraiment été pour me familiariser un peu mieux avec la langue, prendre mes reperes, découvrir la ville, les bons plans, faire des rencontres, profiter etc etc..
Mon anglais s'est bien sûr un peu amélioré au cours de cette experience, sans le parler tres bien que je le comprends bien mieux. Je peux également avoir une discussion avec un anglais basic pendant plusieurs heures. Mon niveau est intérmediaire, situé quelque part entre le B1-B2
Mes 3 dernieres semaines ici ont été uniquement pour distribution de CV, que ce soit en main propres ou sur internet. Coffee shop, hotel, restauration. (Je précise qu'en France, j'etais vendeuse, donc pas tellement d'experience en restau)
Mais voilà: Aucune réponse suite à mes candidatures spontanées. Pourtant je me bouge le cul. Le probleme est aussi qu'à force, imprimer des CV à un coût...
J'aimerai donc savoir à ceux qui ont déjà tenté l'experience si avec un anglais basic, vous avez réussi à décrocher quelque chose.
Beaucoup me parlent également des calls center, mais ceux-ci demandent souvent un bon niveau en anglais, d'autant plus que l'anglais au télephone est bien plus difficile qu'en face à face. C'est simple: je ne comprends presque rien!
Autre point: je vais bientôt devoir quitter ma famille d'accueil, puisque mon internship se termine, je ne suis plus pris en charge. Je cherche donc soit un appart' à partager, soit une auberge de jeunesse dans l'immédiat absolu. Simplement, je suis passée dans une qui est relativement cheap, Generator, mais voilà: le weekend, les prix explosent, et avoisinent les 50 euros. 50 euros la nuit (ou le weekend, j'ai oublié), c'est quand même tres cher. Comment font les habitués des auberges de jeunesse? Parce qu'à la semaine, ca avoisine les 130 euros, plus cher qu'un appart', et sans compter la bouffe..
Voilà. Je commence aussi à me demander si l'ideal ne serait pas de bouger un peu. Tenter à Cork, peut-être?
Financièrement, je peux tenir un mois sans job, mais apres je vais etre vraiment raide, et devrait surement revenir en France si la situation ne se décante pas..
Bref. Des avis, des conseils, des astuces, des impressions, des anecdotes, des blagues, n'importe quoi, tout est bienvenu.
Je précise, ca sera ma premiere experience internship-qui-se-fini-avec-un-sac-à-dos donc c'est peut-être pour ça que je ne sais pas trop comment m'y prendre..

Certes, c'est un métier, avec ses codes, ses horaires, ses reglementations... mais comment trouver quoi que ce soit dans ces conditions..
anecdote : quand j’étais a Londres, j'en avais tellement marre de claquer du fric (notamment dans l'hostel et les photocopies) et d'attendre les réponses de mes entretiens que j'ai envoyé une et une seule candidature a une entreprise en Asie. Et bien j'ai reçu mon contrat et visa de travail (tout a la charge de l'entreprise) avant même d'avoir reçu la moindre réponse de Londres.
En Asie, j'étais résident permanent, j'avais des coups de fils d'autres entreprises tous les jours, je suis revenu en Europe croyant que ça aller être la fête question travail et bien c'est le néant total, tous mes contacts en Angleterre (domaine de la pub) se sont fait licencier et sont en situation précaire avec des statuts autoentrepreneur bidon, et il n'y a rien a part des proposions payées de 500 euros par mois en Allemagne.
Tout ça pour dire que la recherche de job en Europe si tu n'as pas de piston c'est du foutage de g. (sauf si tu y vit déjà a Dublin par exemple en tant qu’étudiant ou que tu peux gratuit loger dans ta famille/chez des amis). Ça devient tres tres cher de se loger sur place (j'ai fait le calcul que dans certaines villes les prix des chambres en dortoirs ont augmenté de 150% en 10 ans)
A ta place je rentrerai en France et je ferais un Working Holiday Visa pour me casser ailleurs.

Malheureusement, le monde du travail est bien pourri et pas qu'en Irlande. En France, on voit beaucoup d'offres genre "cherche serveur stagiaire avec expérience exigée et nombreuses qualités, pour la saison d'été" Ou comment détourner la loi pour payer quelqu'un 436 euros/mois. 😠

Vous prendriez des appels en français. Cependant toute la communication et la formation est en anglais, donc un minimum de compréhension est requis. L'entretien d'embauche est en anglais avec des tests en anglais et français. Le salaire de base est interessant et possibilité d'avoir un bonus tous les trimestres. Nous demandons un minimum de 6 mois dans un service clientele (call centre ou autre).

If anyone knows the rates charged by movers for a crate to French Polynesia, or what pitfalls to avoid (I know you can get quotes directly from movers, but I’d love insights from actual customers😉).
