Dans la préparation d’un voyage « en individuel » l’obtention du Visa pour le Mali par correspondance ( lorsqu’on ne peut pas faire autrement ) n’est pas sans risque du fait de l’expédition obligatoire des passeports au consulat à Paris.
En outre cette démarche est un peu stressante du fait de la difficulté à obtenir les bonnes informations pour constituer un dossier recevable. Tout le monde se pose les mêmes questions sur le sujet (les forums en témoignent) et chacun peine à obtenir les informations adéquates, un peu désarçonné par le fait qu’il n’existe pas de support assez « clair » pour mener à bien sa demande. Il faut donc aller à la pêche aux renseignements.
Certains prestataires peuvent vous décharger, mais payer double pour de toutes manières utiliser quasiment les mêmes modes d’expéditions, ça fait réfléchir. Quelle différence y’a-t-il à faire partir un recommandé à destination du consulat ou à l’attention d’un prestataire ? les risques sont les mêmes. Certes ces prestataires vous greffent au choix, des « assurances» qui verseraient des indemnités plus conséquentes que celles de la poste, en cas de perte…mais tout le monde sait comment les assurances fonctionnent…🤪
En faisant appel à un sous-traitant, avec la plus petite assurance « perte » incluse, mon visa de simple entrée, me serait revenu à 80 euros.
J’ai donc pris la décision, motivé par quelques témoignages positifs sur ce forum, d’expédier en recommandé mon dossier au consulat du MALI à Paris ; comprenant :
- le formulaire de demande de visa (téléchargé via le site du consulat) complété, daté et signé.
- On vous demande 2 photos d’identités – (mais une photo m’a été restituée…)
- Le passeport, comprenant une page vierge de toute inscription (attention à la date de validité du passeport > à 6 mois, à la date du départ)
- Un chèque de 28 euros à l’ordre du consulat du Mali (toujours valable en 2009)
- Une copie du justificatif de réservation des billets d’avion
- Une enveloppe timbrée
- Un imprimé de la poste pré-rempli, pour le retour des pièces, en recommandé
Le visa « simple entrée » est valable 3 mois à compter de sa date d’obtention. La date d’entrée de votre voyage doit être comprise dans ce délai. Vous pouvez restez 1 mois dans le pays « en règle ». Il existe bien entendu d'autres types de Visas selon vos besoins.
Sachez qu’une fois que vous avez envoyé votre dossier au consulat, il n’y a aucune information descendante même si vous laissez vos coordonnées. Silence radio total. Comme on dit « pas de nouvelle, bonne nouvelle »…
Pourtant le service est efficace est très rapide : J’ai effectué l’envoie de mon dossier en recommandé le lundi 20/07, j’ai reçu mon Visas le vendredi 24 !
Coût de l’opération : 28 euros de visa + 10 euros de recommandé… et un peu de stress qui se termine en grand soulagement en moins d’une semaine. ...Si ça peut vous aidez dans vos démarches, alors je suis content de vous faire part de mon témoignage.😉

Je pense que ça va être compliqué pour prendre un coli: Je passe avant par le Niger et le Burkina et j'ai déja pas mal de chose à emporter (surtout que je n'ai droit qu'à 20 kg je crois).
Mais s'il est vraiment petit et léger alors faut voir...

bonjour, je vous réponds tardivement car là où j'étais durant 15 jours je n'avais aucune possibilité d'utiliser le net.
L'enveloppe timbrée est bien destinée au retour des pièces. Si vous y joignez un formulaire de recommandé pré-rempli c'est mieux. Attention, il ne faut pas le coller sur l'enveloppe cette opération doit se faire au guichet car le formulaire doit être validé dans une machine en amont.
Le consulat n'accepte visiblement pas les recommandés avec avis de réception, il faut donc le formulaire spécifique de recommandé "sans avis de réception". Vous pouvez cocher la case de l'assurance qui vous indemnisera au mieux en cas de perte.
Bien sur que c'est risqué, mais justement le recommandé vous garanti une traçabilité. Vous savez, j'ai discuté avec une amie qui bosse dans une enseigne d'agence de voyage française très connue au sujet des visas. Dans cette agence, ils ont connu tellement de difficultés avec certaines ambassades (Cameroun, côte d'ivoire entre autres) qu'ils se sont totalement déchargés de l'obtention des visas. Pour ces destinations, l'obtention des visas reste à la charge du voyageur...pour dire que quand un dossier foire, même les agences de voyages ne parviendraient pas à démêler certaines situations...

finalement tout est allé tres vite...recommandé posté lundi (demande de visa + 1 photo + enveloppe pré remplie) et jai reçu mon visa vendredi...après qq jours de stress, un passeport se baladant ds la nature!!

Dossier envoyé complet au consulat général le vendredi 8/1 (2010) malheureusement avec accusé de réception par erreur de la guichetière.
Courrier reçu par le consulat seulement le jeudi 14/1 !!!!!
ce retard n'est pas dû au consulat mais à la poste, le suivi de la lettre m'indique qu'il a fallu 5 jours pour que ma lettre passe de Paris 18e à Paris 20e, et je ne m'étais pas trompée dans l'adresse !!
A ce jour (dimanche 31 janvier), je n'ai toujours pas reçu mon passeport.
Je n'ai reçu le carton d'accusé de réception uniquement le mercredi 27/1 !
Le chèque a bien été encaissé par le consulat (lundi 25/1), je suis sûre qu'ils ont traité correctement mon dossier et suis même convaincue que le courrier a été envoyé il y a déjà plusieurs jours !

J'ai re-réussi à joindre le consulat de Paris (j'avais déjà réussi lundi pour m'entendre dire que tous les passeports étaient partis), comme quoi ils répondent quand même au téléphone.
Après quelques minutes de conversation polie, souriante mais acharnée, on a retrouvé mon enveloppe et mon passeport.
Le problème ?
celui que je pressentais dès le départ, la guichetière a glissé à l'intérieur en guise d'affranchissement retour un formulaire lettre recommandée avec AR prépayé..
il est impossible de faire ensuite quelque chose avec ça, étant donné qu'il est daté à la date du paiement !!!
donc il faut bien veiller que l'enveloppe retour soit affranchie au tarif lettre recommandé AR, je m'étais pourtant bataillée avec la guichetière pour que ce soit timbré, mais elle m'a dit que c'était exactement pareil et plus rapide avec le formulaire !!
bref, je vais aller le récupérer directement au consulat (ou envoyer quelqu'un demain) mais je peux partir (soulagée) dimanche..
En conclusion:
ça marche vraiment par la poste et c'est normalement très rapide, n'hésitez pas avec l'éclairage actuel de ma mauvaise expérience .. je sais maintenant comment être sûre de récupérer un courrier !
et en plus, au consulat, ils répondent et sont serviables !
Voici mon expéreince toute récente et positive d'obtention du Visa d'entrée au Mali par courrier avec le Consultat de Paris.
Lundi 1 fév : j'appelle le consultat 01.48.07.85.85, qui me confirme que la démarche est possible par courrier recommandé et me liste les documents attendus.
Mardi 2 fév, j'envoie :
- le passeport,
- formulaire de demande de visa, complété et signé (on peut trouver le formulaire sur le site web de n'importe quelle société qui fait les démarches de visa).
- deux photos d'identité,
- un justificatif de réservation de voyage (= photocopie de la confirmation d'inscription au voyage),
- une copie de justificatif de vaccination contre la fièvre jaune (demandée lors de la conversation tél avec le consultat),
- un chèque de 28 eur (séjour <1 mois) à l'ordre du Consulat du Mali,
- une enveloppe pour le retour, avec mon adresse et affranchie à 3.70 eur,
- un formulaire lettre recommandée sans accusé réception, avec mon adresse en destinataire et l'adresse du consulat comme expéditeur, non colé sur l'enveloppe retour.
J'ai envoyé le tout en recommandé avec accusé réception.
Astuce : noter le numéro du recommandé de retour, vous pourrez suivre la lettre retour sur laposte.fr.
Samedi 6 fév matin : j'ai reçu la lettre retour avec le visa sur le passeport (rem: aucun autre document n'a été renvoyé).
La démarche est rapide et efficace, et le stress limité (suivi du courrier sur le site de Laposte).

Si vous avez votre Visa, il n'y a aucune raison que vous vous fassiez refouler... le problème est de savoir si vous pouvez l'obtenir en justifiant seulement d'un aller simple... Je n'ai pas toutes les réponses...😉
Il existe plusieurs types de visas en fonction de la durée de votre séjours... Combien de temps comptez-vous rester au Mali ??
Pour le visa "courte durée" j'ai bien peur qu'un justificatif de votre vol retour vous soit demandé... pour ma part j'ai du le fournir.
Une seule solution : Avant d'envoyer vos documents, téléphonez-leur c'est plus prudent.

Tout compte fait je n'ai acheté qu'un billet allé et je n'ai eu aucun problème à avoir mon visa. Ils ne demandent pas à voir le billet d'avion donc aucune raison qu'il refuse de donner un visa même pour une courte durée! 😉

Tu vois, la personne que j'avais eu au tel m'avait dit qu'il était impératif de fournir les justificatifs des vols pour un Visa d'un mois, simple entrée... les procédures ont surement évolué... tant mieux si les démarches sont facilité avec la fourniture d'un dossier plus "léger".
Au fait, tu as pris un Visa pour quelle durée ?
J'ai pris un visa d'un mois (que je renouvèlerai sur place). Par contre à la question "destination à la sortie du Mali" j'ai répondu Sénégal et non France. Je ne sais pas si ça a changé quelque chose mais je me suis dit que de cette façon s'il me demandait un justificatif pour le retour ça me donnait une excuse pour ne pas en avoir pris...

Je suis sur le point d'aller de Londres à Paris pour obtenir un visa pour le Mali; mais est-ce que j'ai bien compris que si je vais au Consulat le 29 octobre, j'obtiendrai un visa qui est valable jusque'au 29 Janvier 2011? (3 mois). J'ai appelé le Consulat mais il n'étais pas clair (le français n'est pas ma première langue et j'avais un peu du mal a comprendre ce qu'elle me disait). Et est-ce que vous savez si le 'visa rapide' existe toujours - celui qui est delivré le même jour? Il est assez important parce que j'ai déja un voyage prevu à Paris le 29-31 octobre donc il serait bien si je peux aussi obtenir le visa au même temps.

Je viens de rentrer de Paris avec mon visa pour le Mali... Mais ce n'est pas pour 3 mois; c'est valable 1 mois une fois entré au Mali - qui est suffisant pour moi parce que je n'y resterai que 2 semaines. Il faut l'utiliser d'ici avant la fin du janvier 2011 (i.e. il faut entrer au Mali dans 3 mois de la date du visa - le 29 Oct). C'était 48 euros pour le 'visa urgent' (j'ai attendu vers 1 heure). On ne m'a demandé aucun billet, mais pour un visa valable pour y rester 3 mois, je ne suis pas sur si le processus est pareil - désolé! Probablement le meilleur est d'appeler le consulat: 0148 0785 85.

I bought a one-way flight (Ryanair) and a return flight (EasyJet) to spend a week in Morocco in April.
My passport expires 3 weeks after the return date.
Some websites say the passport must be valid for 3 months at the time of entry.
However, it will still be valid both on entry and return, but its validity will only be 1 month at the time of entry (and 3 weeks on the return date, everything prepaid).
It's an individual family trip.
The consulate can't give me an answer—they're still looking into it (really!)
Last year, we stayed for 3 months in Thailand, north of Khao Lak, and were able to benefit from the 2-month visa exemption, renewable for one month by going to Takua Pa to validate a 1-month extension (1,900 baht).
This year, it’s a disaster for us—not only were we planning a 4-month stay, adding a visa run in between (which some say is quite risky), but the law is apparently changing in the coming months with the return of the 1-month exemption (plus the usual 1-month option). So, we looked into applying for a 6-month multiple-entry visa, allowing a maximum of 60 consecutive days in Thailand. However, I can’t find anywhere the minimum time required outside Thailand between two stays—do any of you have an idea?

As a French national, I need to obtain a short-stay visa that can be converted to a long-stay one. To do this, I have to send the required documents to the Madagascar embassy in Paris.
No issues with that procedure so far.
If I get this visa, once I arrive in Madagascar, I’ll need to provide the same documents to the Ministry of the Interior in Anosy. I’m trying to find an email address or website for the Ministry to check which documents I need to submit (I think they ask for additional ones).

I’d like to know if anyone has already applied for a private visa to Russia with an invitation from a Russian resident.
I traveled earlier this year with an e-visa, but since I want to stay longer, I’ll be visiting my friend who lives in eastern Russia.
For the visa application, does the invitation need to be on an official paper form issued by the Russian ministry? And most importantly, do I need to present the original for the application, or is there an electronic version that can be sent directly to the consulate in France?

I filled out the B2 form to apply for a visa, created an account on Atvis to pay the visa fees and schedule a meet-up, but every time I try to pay with my Boursobank Visa 1st card, they refuse the payment with a message telling me to check my details (address), even though everything is correct. Does anyone know why this is happening, or maybe they don’t accept Visa cards? Are you aware of this?

On her passport, it’s written as Martine DUPOND épouse AVRY.
No issues for travel, I hope I did the right thing with the ticket?
Then for the ESTA, is just Martine DUPOND enough, or do I need to include the "épouse AVRY" part like on the passport?

I saw on the French Embassy in Peru’s website and the Peruvian Consulate in Paris’s site that the rule is to have a passport valid for 6 months *after the arrival date* (not the return date).
I arrive in Peru on August 13, 2019 (for about twelve days), and my passport is valid until February 16, 2020.
That’s 6 months and 3 days after my arrival date in Peru. In my opinion, I’m good to go.

My departure is slowly approaching, and now that I’ve got my Russian visa sorted, I’m fine-tuning the rest of my trip to Tajikistan. Since the Tajik visa is no longer required for stays under 30 days (for French nationals), I’ll need to visit the Ministry of Interior (OVIR) to register within 10 days of entering the country. No big deal, though, since I had to go there anyway to apply for my GBAO permit. 😉 However, I’ve *seen* several reports from travelers (mostly motorized) mentioning that you need an entry permit for Kyrgyzstan, which has to be arranged in advance at the Kyrgyz Ministry (consulate?) in Dushanbe. Otherwise, you’re *stuck* at the Kyzyl-Art border (with no Wi-Fi, of course, to try and sort it out). The most recent report was from a year ago, so I’d love to know if this is still the case and if it’s indeed at the Kyrgyz Ministry (consulate?) where you need to go for this pre-authorization.

I’m leaving for almost 3 months in the Philippines (11 weeks total) starting in early May.
I already have my round-trip ticket.
The problem is, I don’t have time to get a 2-month visa because the process takes nearly a month.
From what I’ve read here and there, I need a return ticket valid for less than a month when I arrive in the Philippines to prove my good faith.
After that, I can apply for a 30-day extension at the immigration office.
I’m planning to either buy a fully refundable ticket to the nearest country or a fake ticket.
For 3 months, I’ll need to extend my visa two more times before my return date to France.
My question is this:
Will immigration ask me each time I extend my visa by one month to show proof of an exit ticket matching the new visa extension date?
Is it possible to extend directly by 2 months before the initial 30 days expire?

My partner (Mexican) entered France on January 21st as a tourist. She was therefore entitled to stay for 90 days in the Schengen Area. She’ll be leaving for Mexico on April 16th, so she’ll have “used up” 86 days.
She plans to return to France on July 18th. According to the European Commission’s Schengen calculator, this new stay “may be authorized for a maximum of 90 days.” That’s not very clear ("may be," "for a maximum of").
The text of Article 6 of the European regulation (2016/399) states that for a stay planned in the territory of the Member States, not exceeding 90 days in any 180-day period, one must examine "the 180-day period preceding each day of the stay." That’s not very clear either.
My partner wants to return to France for a 90-day period starting on July 18th. Is this possible?
There are two ways to look at it:
1) The first day she spent in the Schengen Area was January 21st. That day will drop out of the calculation 180 days later, on July 20th.
From July 20th, she’ll get back 1 day of possible stay; on July 22nd, 2 days; and so on. All the days from her previous stay (January 21st–April 16th) need to be outside the 180-day rolling window.
The last day of her stay was April 16th. Looking 180 days ahead, that brings us to October 13th. From that date, she’ll be able to return for a full 90 days.
2) The number of allowed days is calculated for each day of the new stay. In other words: the 180-day window is recalculated every day, not fixed at the entry date.
If she re-enters France on July 18th, she’ll only have a “credit” of 4 days. But with each day of her new stay, one day from the previous stay (January–April) will drop out of the calculation. The rolling window allows her to “replace” days from the previous stay with those of the new stay, without ever exceeding 90 days in any 180-day period.
In this case, my partner could stay in France for 90 days starting on July 18th.
The Prefecture doesn’t provide any information, nor does Air France, and in the forums I’ve checked, opinions are divided. Thanks for any insights you can share!

We’re planning to travel to Indonesia (Sulawesi with family) next July and August for a stay longer than a month (about 6 weeks).
I’ve seen that it’s possible to get a 60-day visa before departure, but I’ve also read about people having a lot of trouble getting it (some even didn’t manage and had to leave without it).
We absolutely need to have these 4 visas BEFORE leaving because once we’re in Sulawesi, I’m not sure we’ll be able to go to an embassy to request a visa extension after 30 days.
In short, how can we **100% guarantee** that we’ll get our 4 60-day visas before our trip this summer?

We’re heading back in October for a trip through Botswana, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
I have a question: for our route, we’ll need to cross the Zambia and Zimbabwe borders twice each. From experience, I know we won’t have any issues with Botswana.
