J'ai enfin le courage et le temps surtout de pouvoir vous raconter mon expèrience de 10 semaines à San Diego. J'étais sur le forum car j'avais beaucoup de questions et j'ai surtout eu beaucoup de réponses alors pour ceux que cela intèresse de partir, je prend le temps de voux expliquer un peu mon séjour.
Aussi veuillez m'excuser pour les fautes que je vais pouvoir faire, j'écris vite et je ne me relis pas forcèmenet, je sais c'est mal ^^ !
Tout d'abord je voulais partir aux USA parce que c'était mon rêve depuis toujours, j'ai préparé ce voyage pendant de long mois pour enfin partir le 27 août 2012 et revenir le 4 novembre 2012. C'était evidement pour apprendre l'anglais aussi, et découvrir la culture des Américains.
Au tout début je voulais faire Los Angeles mais sans voiture apparement c'est galère et c'est super grand, alors j'ai regardé San Francisco parce que c'était une ville culturelle et qui me plaisait bien, voyant le prix j'ai regardé une autre ville qui serait aussi agréable que SF est moins cher alors je suis tombée sur San Diego, j'ai fais des recherches et j'ai finalisé mon inscription. J'ai 20 ans et c'est la première fois que je partais aussi loin de ma famille et mes amis, à l'autre bout du monde, j'arrive pas à y croire et j'étais surtout très contente de pouvoir partir et voir autre chose :)
L'Ecole :
J'ai choisis une école "Converse International" pour suivre des cours le matin de 9h à 12h40 avec une pause de 20 minutes. Le reste du temps j'étais libre.
Si vous voulez partir à SD je la conseille, c'était tout simplement GENIAL ! Le premier jour vous faite un test avec 100 questions en 1h30 ensuite vous êtes libre et le lendemain on vous donne votre niveau, on vous dépose ensuite à votre classe. Je suis arrivée au niveau 3. on est 8 maximum par classe et c'est vraiment bien cela nous permet de nous exprimer plus facilement surtout pour les gens timide, d'avoir plus de temps. On avait une partie Grammaire, oral, lecture, ecriture et jeux, le professeur était compétent et drôle et surtout parfois il parlait des américains, d'Obama, des villes aux usa etc. Tous les matins on devait dire ce qu'on avait fait la veille, ce qu'on avait mangé... ce qu'on allait faire l'après midi et avec qui. J'ai fais beaucoup de progrès, nous sommes passé au niveau 4, un mois après mon arrivé et avant de partir je pouvais partir dans le niveau 5. Alors oui le fait de partir aux usa aide vraiment beaucoup, j'ai l'impression d'avoir beaucoup plus progressé en partant 10 semaines que toutes mes années scolaires en France... c'est pour dire ! Ils organisaient aussi beaucoup beaucoup d'activités, des sorties, des acitivités pour Halloween, et ils étaient en contact avec des organismes pour des voyages comme Vegas, Los Angeles ou encore San Francisco.
La Résidence :
La résidence Vantaggio se situe dans le quartier de Little Italy c'est le logement le moins cher et c'est vraiment bien situé. à Côté du Trolley, il y a des restaurants et nous sommes à 20 minutes à pieds de l'école il y avait souvent des évènements dans le quartier c'était bien animé. Il faut savoir qu'il n'y avait pas beaucoup d'Américains dedans plus des etrangers, beaucoup de Suisse, de Brésiliens mais pas beaucoup de français. J'étais dans une chambre double avec une roomate, j'ai eu de la chance lle était sympa même si à la fin parfois elle me tapé sur les nerfs mais elle était très gentille tout de même, puis tous les soirs quasiment il y avait des soirées en bas, j'étais au deuxième étage, juste côté fenêtre, vue sur l'entrée alors parfois je n'arrivais pas à dormir a cause de la musique à fond mais après on fini par s'y faire puis au moins mon wi-fi marché bien, si vous êtes au 4eme c'est plus compliqué. Le week end pareil c'était des grosses fiesta, mais il y avait un couvre feu pour le bruit maximum minuit, je ne sais pas vous dire si c'était bien ou pas je ne faisais n'y allée pas ce n'était pas trop mon délire :). Niveau confor on avait une salle de bain que je trouve grande, avec baignoire, wc et armoire un coin cuisine avec un evirer des armoires, une armoire à vêtement pour deux (la notre elle était grande), deux lits un bureau entre les deux lits, une armoire avec une télé plus une armoire au dessus.
Rencontres :
Au début étant timide, j'avais du mal la première semaine j'allais à la résidence après les cours et je resté devant mon pc. Après j'ai sympathisé avec tous les gens de ma classe plus des gens en dehors et surtout après un mois à SD j'ai vu une fille que je connaissais grâce a mes contacts alors je faisais pas mal de chose avec eux, plages, magasins, week end. C'était vraiment génial parce que tous les jours on mangeait ensemble, on prevoyait ce qu'on allait faire.
San Diego :
Il y a beaucoup de chose à faire à San Diego, déjà les plages qui ne sont pas loin, suffisait de prendre le trolley et le bus et c'est comme dans les films, j'ai fais Pacific Beach, Coronado (que je recommande à tous si vous allez à San Diego obligatoire d'y aller), Mission Beach, Ocean Beach et Mission Bay. il y a aussi le parc aquatic Sea Wolrd que je n'ai pas fait, le Balboa Parc, Le Zoo, et si vous êtes attirés par les magasins il faut fait un tour juste à la frontière méxicaine à Las America un outlet avec beaucoup de magasins et de bons prix dans certains magasins (par exemple deux tee shirt converse pour 25$), il y a aussi juste un peu plus bas que l'école un centre commercial avec boutiques et restaurants, beaucoup de restaurant dans Downtown, et le port... Pour faire les courses il y avait un magasins ou on pouvait trouver de tout pour manger, par contre fallait pas prendre 10l de boissons parce que c'était quand même a 25 min environs à pieds. Par semaines on va dire que j'en avais environs pour 25/30$ mais avec la carte j'avais des réduction à chaque fois entre 4 et 6$ immédiates ! Pour le transport une carte au moisn coûte 72$ mais on pouvait utiliser le train, le bus et le trolley !
en dehors de San diego.
J'ai pu faire Las Vegas, Los angeles, Universal Studio (+ la soirée Horror pour Halloween, moi qui adore Halloween c'était énorme) , Disneyland et Six flags... ce genre de parc qu'on a pas en France c'est incroyable leurs coasters...
Maintenant j'aimerais vraiment y retourner, je prévois 9 jours à New York, mais San Diego maintenant à mes yeux est ma deuxième ville, je veux y retourner le plus vite possible.

C'était une formule oui, j'ai fais ça avec un organisme : AILS.
donc en gros pour l'école + le logement (chambre double donc) j'ai payé un peu prêt 3.800 pour dix semaines.
+ le billet d'avion que tu peux avoir pour 600e avec les offres et evidement ton budget sortie, nourriture, vêtements etc :)

Oui parce que j'avais bien regardé et c'était les moins cher en plus de ça, j'ai pas eu de problèmes donc ça va !
Pour les amis au début je faisais ma timidie, mais à la deuxième semaines je sortais avec les élèves, ma collocataire et les amis des amis :P !
Les locaux étaient bien pour moi, propre, assez d'espace pour une classe, la climatisation au maximum haha. Pareil pour la résidence c'était propre mais c'est à toi de nettoyer ta chambre enfin de faire la vaisselle tout ça, sinon une femme de ménage passait 1 fois pour 2 semaines donc de toute façon c'était toujours propre. Les sorties j'ai pas eu trop de problèmes, le truc assez chiant la bas c'est que parfois je pouvais pas manger à l'étage d'un restaurant par exemple parce que il y avait un bar... (alors qu'une fois je suis rentré dans un bar on ma rien dit rien demandé m'enfin...) ce genre de chose mais ne buvant pas d'alcool c'était pas un problème pour moi, le moins pour moi c'était qu'adorant les concerts je ne pouvais pas y aller parfois parce que encore une fois il y avait un bar. Enfin c'est pas pour ça que je ne pouvais pas sortie avec mes amis, parce que certains aussi ne sont pas majeurs donc tu n'est jamais tout seul de toute façon.
Oui des soirées quasiment tous les soirs, et surtout les week ends, avec alcool si les gens buvaient, étant à côté de la fenêtre j'avais droit à tous les bourrés parfois haha, mais la nuit au moins c'était calme il y avait un couvre feu pour le calme des voisins.
Je pense aussi à partir avec AILS ça me rassure! Par contre j'hésite à partir cette année ou à attendre l'an prochain car j'aurais 21ans et aimant sortir ça serait plus pratique

Ton anglais s'est rapidement amélioré? Tu partais de quel niveau?
Stevhen : de rien, c'est clair que si tu aimes sortir tu risques d'être un peu déçu, parce que tu ne pourras pas faire grand chose niveau bar, discothèque et cie...
Non dans une résidence pour voyageurs et étudiant du monde entier pour justement prendre des cours, c'était dans le quartier Little Italy, super sympa d'ailleurs, avec pas mal de petits restaurant, tu vois le port au loin (pas enormément loin, mais je ne suis pas allée, c'est très bête je sais :P) et il y a souvent des manifestations (festival de la bière a quelques rues, rassemblement de voitures de luxe, festival Italien avec petit concert et degustations, un petit marché tous les mardis, etc)
Pas facile de me faire des amis américains, plus ceux de l'école, les amis de mes amis et ma colloc'. Après les américains sont super sociales donc si tu es à l'aise ça peut venir, par exemple dans le trolley, dans la rue, dans les magasins c'est fou comme ils ont une facilité de venir te parler.
Oui franchement j'avais un anglais de base mais j'arrivais pas à m'exprimer, a avoir une discussion "complète", en arrivant j'étais au niveau 3, 1 mois après je suis passée au niveau 4 et juste avant de partir je pouvez passer au niveau 5. Par exemple j'ai beaucoup plus de facilité maintenant je connais mes verbes, je sais conjuguais, j'ai fais beaucoup de grammaire en France j'étais une vrais catastrophe maintenant je connais ça, je pouvais sortir avec des amis et suivre une discussion, y participer et me sentir bien et pas mise de côté :) Enfin j'en avais vraiment besoin, le truc en revenant en France c'est de continuer ce que je ne fais pas pour le moment par faute de temps mais j'aimerais vraiment m'y remettre pour ne rien perdre. Un jour à mon travail j'ai du parler à quelqu'un en anglais je me suis surprise à répondre correctement, pour moi c'est la preuve que maintenant je suis plus à l'aise avec la langue
