hi there we’re planning a 4-week trip in March— have any of you been to one of these three regions in March? Any feedback on weather, prices, or other tips?

We’re used to renting a scooter in Asia to explore for 3 or 4 days at a time— is it possible to rent a scooter in these regions?

Thanks so much for your advice!

hi there March is a really nice time to travel in these regions.

Yunnan (Dali, Lijiang, Shangri-La): mild weather, often clear skies, around 20 °C during the day but cooler in the evening.

Guilin: more humid, sometimes a bit of light rain, but the karst landscapes are stunning this time of year.

Sichuan: Chengdu stays temperate, but mountain areas (Jiuzhaigou, Emeishan) can still be cold, sometimes snowy.

Renting a scooter is doable, especially in tourist spots like Yangshuo (Guangxi) or around Dali (Yunnan)—it’s even really easy there. In Sichuan and other cities, it’s trickier because of the terrain and long distances.

Price-wise, March is a shoulder season: good deals and fewer crowds than in the summer.
