I’m arriving at Trang Airport in mid-November. What’s the going rate for Pakmeng Pier and then for Koh Mook? Also, what’s the cheapest way to get from Koh Mook to Noppharat Thara (Ao Nang)? After that, I’ll be heading from Railay to Koh Yao Noi. Should I buy tickets from a local agency or at the pier?

Thanks also for your great tips! What are the must-see spots during 5 nights on Koh Mook, 3 around Ao Nang, and 3 on Koh Yao Noi? After that, I’m planning to visit Phuket City, Khao Lak, Surat Thani, Ao Khanom, maybe Koh Samui... and Bangkok for 4 nights. We have the opportunity to get away for a little two-week trip at the very beginning of January, just the two of us, without our kids. Because of the kids, we haven’t traveled much in Asia, so we’d love to take advantage of their absence to explore Thailand. Even though I’m used to planning our trips, I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed this time.

We’d like to visit Bangkok and head south by renting a car (we have an international driver’s license, and my husband has driven on the left before). I’ve managed to sketch out a rough itinerary that might work for us, and I’d love to hear your thoughts.

To set the scene: we haven’t booked anything yet, we don’t like spending hours on the beach (though a little time at the end of the day is fine), we love walking and sightseeing, and what we enjoy most is being independent (so if we can avoid group tours, that’s ideal).

After that intro, here’s the rough outline of our itinerary: Day 0: Paris-Bangkok flight Days 1, 2, and 3: Bangkok (Wat Pho, Grand Palace, Wat Arun, markets, boat ride through the khlongs, Jim Thompson House) Day 4: Ayutthaya Day 5: Pick up a rental car and head to Sam Roi Yot Day 6: Sam Roi Yot and Prachuap Khiri Khan Day 7: Drive south – overnight near Surat Thani Day 8: Uthayan Tham Khao Na Nai, then drive to Ao Nang (staying near Tubkaek) Days 9 and 10: Boat trips (Railay, Ko Hong, etc.) Day 11: Drive to Phang Nga with a few stops along the way Day 12: Boat tour (mangroves and Ko Tapu) Day 13: Drive to Phuket Airport and return flight

A few questions and doubts: - I’d considered Cheow Lan Lake but read some not-so-great reviews (crowds, just 3 viewpoints, and the rest was meh). What do you think? - Can we start from Ao Thalane Pier for trips to Ko Hong and Ko Tapu? - I’m not thrilled about driving through Bangkok, but I’m not sure where to rent a car west of the city (since we won’t return it to the same place, I assume it’s best to target rental companies at airports).

Hi there, My questions might be repetitive, but I’d love to find a hotel close to a beach where we can swim without having to travel too far. The teens would stay at the beach while we go on excursions.

Salut la communauté, Le rêve de mon épouse est de passer Noël et nouvel an au soleil... Je pense que 40 ans , c'est le moment ;-). Nous sommes des habitués des clubs mexicains, cubains etc en all in. Je remarque que a Khao lak, Patong, et autres , les hôtels sont uniquement logement petit dej . Je suppose que ma question trouvera peut-être difficilement réponse mais manger midi et soir à l'hôtel est il fort onéreux ? Ou alors faut il trouver un hotel proche de restaurants et bars de rue ? J'ai peur de me retrouver avec 2000€ de note en boissons et repas a la fin du séjour.

Suite à un premier message posté en décembre et vos précieux avis et conseils (notamment Jungletroll ! merci), j'ai revu notre itinéraire pour le simplifier un peu car premier voyage en Asie...

Je pense également laisser tomber l'idée de louer une voiture de location 🤪 mais plutôt voyager avec un chauffeur privé (sauf Koh Phanga) pour plus de confort et sécurité .... Donc la question est comment organiser cela ? Par une agence ? Connaissez vous Evaneos que je viens de découvrir et qui semble organiser tout sur mesure avec des agents sur place... Je ne me sens pas vraiment capable de tout organiser par moi même et je n'aime pas partir à l'aventure...

Alors voici le nouvel itinéraire prévu sur janvier / février 2021 (avec des dates à la limite "décalable" d'une semaine plus tôt) - Samedi 16/01 : Vol Lyon Dubai (Emirates) - Dimanche 17 et lundi 18/01 : escale Dubai puis vol le 18/01 au soir - Mardi 19/01 : Arrivée aéroport Bangkok le matin - Transfert à Kanchanaburi. au passage : Wat Tham Suea. Fin de journée découverte de la ville et repos - Mercredi 20/01 : Départ pour Sai Yok, arrêt au viaduc de Wang Pho, grotte de Krasae (?) et si possible installation au Krit House au pied de Sai Yok Hai et Lek Waterfal. Fin de journée sur place Jeudi 21/01 : matin Hin Bad Hot Spring ? et route vers Erawan OU monter jusqu'à Sangkhla Buri puis retour à Erawan (mais beaucoup de route il me semble) Vendredi 22/01 : Visite des cascades Erawan le matin et route vers Amphawa pour 2 nuits (si possible installation au bord du Mae Klong pas trop loin du marché flottant. Samedi 23/01 : marché sur les rails de Mae Klong le matin et après-midi, et soirée sur Amphawa Dimanche 24/01 : Départ en direction de Prachuap KK. 3 jours pour visiter cette partie : l'objectif est de prendre un bateau de Chumpon à Koh Phanga le mercredi 27/01 (possiblité via Lomprayah d'un catamaran de Tung Makham à Koh Phanga pour 30 €/pers environ) Sur cette côte, nous voudrions visiter : Sam Roi Yot ( Bang Pu, Grotte de Phraya Nakhon...) , Prachuap KK (Khan Kra Dai Cave, Ao Manao Bay Beach et les singes langurs), Bang Saphan : Phra Mahathat Chedi Phakdee Prakat...

Arrivée mercredi 27/01 à Koh Phanga pour 4 nuits / pas encore regardé ce que nous pouvons organiser sur l'île mais un peu de farniente... jeudi 28 - vendredi 29 et samedi 30/01 : Koh Phangan...Bon je viens de voir qu'il y a une full moon party le 28/01/21 alors que c'est pas du tout ce qui nous intéresse mais je suppose que c'est pas trop génant pour une soirée...

Dimanche 31/01 - Transfert sur Surat Thani et Phang Nga / nuit directement sur ce secteur pour faire une excursion privée dans la baie le lendemain assez tôt pour éviter la foule ! Donc lundi 01/02 : baie de Phang na et installation en fin de journée sur Krabi / Ao Nang ou ailleurs... Installation pour 5 nuits : du mardi au vendredi, visite du secteur Samedi 06/02 : Transfert pour l'aeroport de Phuket et vol retour

Voilà, voilà, en gros avec certains endroits plus détaillés que d'autres en fonction de mes recherches.... La question se pose sur la fin du séjour, après Koh Phangan : chauffeur ou location de voiture car moins de route donc peut-être faisable... D'autre part, comment ça se passe avec un chauffeur privé ? Est-il en mesure de nous emmener voir des endroits auxquels nous n'avons pas forcément connaissance ? Sans être vraiment un guide, va-t-il quand même être en mesure de nous donner quelques infos essentiels ? Nous n'avons pas du tout l'habitude de ce mode de déplacement et avons peu de connaissance sur la culture et les habitudes de la Thailande (mis à part les mises en garde sur la façon de conduire, lol !)

Avez-vous des adresses à nous indiquer qui pourrait nous organiser cet itinéraire ? : je voudrais juste réserver les vols internationaux, voire les hébergements moi-même, mais c'est la partie, tranferts, déplacements, visite qui me posent énormément d'interrogation..

Just a quick question—I wanted to know, excluding accommodation and flight tickets, just for leisure activities and food on the spot, I go out a lot so I’d like to know what the costs are for a budget that includes some outings, drinks, eating (local food), and a few massages (local massages). Could those of you who know share some prices, please? Do you think a budget of 100 € per day is reasonable? I’ve read in some places that it’s more than enough, and in others that it’s really tight 😕 I hope I won’t have to watch every penny 😅 I’m staying for two months, from May 27th to the end of July.

My husband and I are heading to Thailand with our two boys on July 8th. We’ll be moving around: Bangkok (3 nights), Ayutthaya (1 night), Chiang Mai (4 nights), Koh Samui (4 nights), and Koh Phangan (3 nights). We have a flight from Koh Samui to Bangkok in the afternoon the day before our return to France, arriving around 5 PM in Bangkok (it’ll be a Friday). I’m still wondering where to stay in Bangkok for this last night in Thailand. Initially, I thought about booking a hotel near the international airport, but I figured there might not be much to do there... maybe we’ll want one last crowd-filled night at a food market? So, I considered booking a hotel near the metro instead, for easy access to the airport the next morning, while still being central enough to go out for our last evening before heading back to France.

I’d love to hear your thoughts on this :-) And if you lean toward the second option, which neighborhood/hotel would you recommend?

Il y a beaucoup de questions sur les prix des taxis , mais j'aimerais des renseignements sur la durée des trajets. 1. du Lamphu Tree Hotel à l'aéroport Don Muang. Air Asia nous demande d'y être 3h avant (??) pour un vol un samedi à 10h55. On devrait donc y être vers 8h. Rome2rio annonce 20 min de trajet. Au vu des embouteillages de Bangkok j'ai un doute... 2. du Lamphu Tree Hotel pour Suvannabhumi un vendredi matin, pour un vol international à 13h, donc je pense être à l'aéroport vers 10h. Il nous serait aussi possible de prendre un taxi jusqu'à la City line. C'est juste pour avoir les éléments de choix le moment venu.

Autre petite question: les infos du post https://voyageforum.com/discussion/thailande-bien-prendre-taxi-arrivee-bangkok-d4314049/ datant de 2011 sur le taxi quand on arrive à Suvannabhumi sont elles toujours d'actualité? J'ai suivi ces indications lors d'un séjour en 2012, mais les années ont passé, et l'organisation pourrait avoir changé. Merci d'avance.

I’ve got a question about buses, which we love using in Bangkok, but it’s always a bit of a challenge to figure out how to get around. We always (eventually) reach our destination because there’s always someone willing to help us find our way, but this year, I’d like us to be a bit more independent. We’re a bit old-school—we like traveling without phones for a real digital detox (no judgment, everyone travels how they like! :) ), so ideally, we’d find an up-to-date map of Bangkok’s bus network, but we don’t know where to buy one... We managed to get one back in 2015, but I think it’s outdated now, and during our last trips, we couldn’t find any...

And if traveling like this is really outdated, could you recommend a reliable app for buses? That way, we could plan our routes using the hotel’s Wi-Fi before heading out.

So happy to discover by chance that VoyageForum is back! We’re leaving in a few days for Thailand with our two kids, aged 12 and 15. We’re considering stopping by Khao Sok but don’t want to do a typical 2D/1N or 3D/2N excursion with an overnight stay on the lake—it’s way out of our budget 🤪. Still, the place seems worth the detour. We’ve planned to spend 2 nights there (arriving in the late afternoon on the first day) and I’d love to do a full-day private boat tour on the lake and a hike (half-day or full-day). Do you think it’s doable to book on the spot if we arrive a bit late on the first day? Or is it better to book in advance? None of the websites for booking these services inspire confidence—I get the feeling it’s a real lottery afterward for getting an interesting and friendly guide. But I’m worried it’ll be the same on-site since everything seems so standardized. Do you have any firsthand experience? Maybe even a Facebook contact or something for a guide? Are the prices still really that expensive if we don’t stay overnight on the lake? I’ll admit I’m not sure if we should even stop there anymore...

Bonjour, je vais passer 3 semaines en Thaïlande en mars, avec mon mari c’est notre premier voyage dans ce pays, nous organisons tout nous-mêmes. Avant de réserver des hôtels, j’aimerais bien savoir si notre projet est réaliste. J’ai déjà réservé la 1e nuit à Bangkok et les 5 nuits suivantes dont 3 nuits à Hua Hin pour se remettre du décalage horaire et pour faire quand même un peu de plage et 2 nuits à Phetchaburi pour voir le parc national Kaeng Krachan. Voilà ce que j’imagine pour la suite et où j’ai besoin de vos lumières : revenir à Bangkok et y rester 3-4 jours, puis le pont de la rivière Kwai (1 nuit), ensuite 2 nuits à Ayuttaya, 2 à Sukhotai, 1 à Lampang, 3 à Chiang Rai pour voir le triangle d’or, et pour finir 3 à Chiang Mai d’où nous prenons l’avion pour le Laos. Ce qui fait en tout 15 nuitées à prévoir. Ma question aux connaisseurs : faut-il rester plus longtemps à certaines places et moins à d’autres ? Comment se déplacer d’un endroit à l’autre? D’ores et déjà merci pour les réponses à venir.

Le projet est encore assez vague mais j'essaie de collecter le maximum d'infos et d'avis sur le sujet.

Concrètement je souhaiterais sur un ou deux jours organiser une cérémonie sur la plage, puis une soirée avec tout les gens que nous avons invité.

Il n'est pas question de mariage legal, toute cette partie la sera faite en France.

Est de que vous auriez des suggestions de lieu, d'endroit pour se loger, de recommandations ou d'expérience personnelle à partager?

L'idée globale est de pouvoir loger un certain nombre de personne au même endroit dans un cadre sympa et d'organiser une cérémonie + fête le soir.

Bonjour, dans un but collaboratif et à destination des non connaisseurs, je me permets un petit compte rendu de notre voyage en Thaïlande du 8/07 au 25/07. Au programme, Ayutthaya - Sukhothai - Chiang Mai - Ko Kood - Bangkok. Nous étions 7 personnes, 4 adultes et 3 ados.

Pour commencer, nous nous sommes aperçus trop tard que les passeports de nos filles n'avaient pas 6 mois de validité comme exigé. Après beaucoup de stress, on est passé sans problème, je relate cette expérience dans un autre post. Vol avec Swiss air et Thai airways, courte escale à Zurich (1h), ne pas trainer dans l’aéroport car c'est grand ! Arrivé Bangkok tôt le matin, une valise était manquante, elle a été livrée à notre hôtel le surlendemain. Pour le trajet jusqu’à Ayutthaya, nous avions réservé un minivan pour plus de confort et moins de stress. Sur le site 12go, cela coute approximativement 70e, soit 10e par tête. Arrivée à Ayutthaya, hôtel : Ruen Tubtim, très bel hôtel situé à 10min du centre ville en bateau privatif. La ville : sans grand intérêt à part bien sûr les très beaux temples et le marché de nuit. Une journée de visite suffit. Trajet Ayutthaya -Sukhothai en bus 3 étoiles, pensez à réserver 2 jours avant ! 5 heures de trajet mais pause repas sympa comprise dans le prix. Sukhothai : logé au Foresto, hôtel très sympa en plus centre ville. La ville : une rue principale mais l’intérêt se trouve à une dizaine de km de là avec les temples. Je précise que l'on a souvent utilisé les songthaews, très pratiques à 7 ! Les temples se font à vélo, magnifiques et belle expérience.

Hi everyone, I’m starting to plan my next trip to Southeast Asia this winter (2.5 months, leaving in early December), and here’s a rough outline of my route—I’d love to share it with you and hear your thoughts and tips.

- I’ll start in Bangkok and already have three spots I’ve marked: Ayutthaya, Kanchanaburi, and Uthai Thani (I haven’t been to any of these places yet). - Next, I’d like to cross the country from west to east to reach the Laos border. I’d love suggestions for any interesting stops along this route—I don’t know this part of Thailand at all... - Then I’ll head into Laos, probably at Savannakhet (you can usually get a visa at the border). - > I’m tempted to spend a week in Hoi An, Vietnam, since I loved that city and the area when I visited two years ago. No visa needed for Vietnam now, so it could be a nice little detour. On the map, it doesn’t look too far, but I know you’ve got to be careful with these things, and I’m not sure if it’s a good idea. Any opinions on this? - Back to Laos (maybe via Dakta), and I’ll head south along the Mekong, probably doing the Bolaven Plateau loop that I missed last time. Then Paksé, the 4,000 Islands... I’ve been before, but I’d happily go back. - Crossing into Cambodia, I’ll follow the Mekong down to Phnom Penh (I know this area and love how untouristy it is). From there, I’ll probably spend a few days in Kep (quieter than Kampot). Still undecided, though. - Then back to Thailand (BKK), likely by plane from Phnom Penh since the borders between the two countries are currently closed (plus, let’s be honest, Cambodian roads... ;-). We’ll see how things look when the time comes. - After that, I’d like to explore southern Thailand, taking it slow with short hops. I’ve got my eye on Khao Sok National Park, and I’ve heard good things about Krabi... Again, I don’t know this region well, so any info or tips would be great.

So, I think this should be doable in 2.5 months, especially since I prefer short hops of 300 km max to avoid getting too tired, and I like staying 2-3 days in each place to explore. Plus, I’ll take a week off to relax if I find a spot I love—maybe by the sea for some real downtime.

Hi everyone, I’m a die-hard fan of India, but it’s time I discovered Thailand too to broaden my Asian horizons. I’m heading there on January 19, 2025, for a 46-day trip (no visa needed as I’m French). I’ve pored over a few guidebooks and travel blogs. Based on what caught my interest, I’ve put together a rough itinerary and list of sights. But since I know absolutely nothing about Thailand, I’m kind of flying blind here. Since I’m not exactly a spring chicken anymore, I’ve opted for a few bases where I’ll stay several days in the same place. That way, I won’t have to change locations and hotels every day or so, packing and unpacking my suitcase constantly. Instead, I plan to explore the surrounding area each day, within a maximum radius of 50 to 70 km. So, first question: Is that kind of round-trip distance manageable in a day in Thailand? In India, renting a car for a day—with a driver—currently costs around 35 to 40 € per day. Knowing that 1,300 to 1,500 THB would be my absolute max, and even then, only if I don’t rent a car every single day. Which brings me to my second question: Am I being unrealistic? Otherwise—third question—once I’m settled in the city I’ve chosen as my base, can I get around within that 50–70 km radius using public transport? I’ve already booked all my hotels—with free cancellation—on booking.com at an average price of 950/1,000 THB per night. Does that put me in a good range for value for money? Or am I dreaming?

Here’s my plan:

BANGKOK (13 days, 14 nights): 1 week for exploring Bangkok – Kanchanaburi/Erawan National Park? – Ayutthaya/Lopburi? – Muang Boran – Samut – Songkram/Amphawa

Bangkok -> Chiang Mai by overnight train in first-class sleeper

CHIANG MAI (6 days/6 nights): Mae Hong Son – Hot springs – Chiang Dao – caves – Lamphun – other places to be decided on the spot based on what’s worth seeing and transport options

Chiang Mai -> Chiang Rai

CHIANG RAI (7 days/8 nights): Fang – Tha Ton – Chiang Saen – Doi Tung – Chiang Khong – Doi Ang Khang, Phu Chi Fah, etc.

Chiang Rai -> Phrae

PHRAE (4 days/5 nights): Lampang and surrounding areas, depending on what’s interesting to see

Phrae -> Loei

LOEI (4 days/5 nights): Phu Kradung – Chiang Khan and surrounding areas, depending on what’s worth seeing

Loei -> Buriram

PHIMAI (Nakhon Ratchasima/Khorat) (5 days/6 nights): Phimai – Prasat Muang Tam – Phanom Rung – Prasat Phanom Wan

Plus les mois passent, plus je commence à me faire à l'idée qu'il y aura décidément un avant et un après pour ce pays que nous aimons tous. J'avoue humblement que je suis passé d'optimiste à pessimiste.

Aujourd'hui le gouvernement Thaï change les règles, et pour combien de temps

Nous savons maintenant avec certitude que ce sera le parcours du combattant pour y retourner cette année , sans parler du nerf de la guerre ce coût financier qui se dessine . (Assurance , quarantaine, test, bulle j'en passe etc ... )

Vais-je accepter payer une assurance la peau des fesses pour rester enfermé 14 jours dans un hôtel à 64€ par nuit. Ensuite on ne sait pas à quelle sauce on nous mettra sur des rails.

Suis-je le seul à penser cela ?

Enfermé depuis Mars , j'ai vraiment pas envie de rester en France cet hiver . ...

Mais pour aller ou ? Quel est le pays qui se rapproche le plus de la Thaïlande ?

Nous avons choisi de faire les visites dans ce sens pour varier les visites culturelles pour les enfants. Nous hésitons à prendre un vol pour aller visiter les temples d'Angkor pendant 3 jours mais cela voudrait dire qu'il faut tout modifier. Est ce bien raisonnable ?

Given the geopolitical situation in the Middle East, we’re keeping a close eye on the news. I was wondering if anyone here is in the same situation as us? • Have you heard anything about possible mass cancellations or if the airline is still maintaining its routes to Asia? • Are there any travelers who’ve recently returned who could tell us if air corridors have been changed (longer flight times)? After a successful first trip in 2025, with the help of forum members, we’d love to return to this amazing cultural melting pot in 2026 for three weeks (2 adults, 2 kids aged 13 and 16).

We’d like to explore new places in the Northeast: fly into Khon Kaen and explore the region—Loei, Nong Khai, perhaps? A detour to the center to visit Sukhothai would be a great addition.

I’ll admit, planning this itinerary is a bit trickier for me since I’m less familiar with these areas and what they have to offer. The distances also seem longer than our previous transfers (BKK-Kanchanaburi-Kaeng Krachan-Sam Roi Yot...).

Do you have any suggestions or hidden gems to explore in the Northeast and Central regions that keep travel time between stops reasonable (3-4 hours)?

Our family trip (2 kids, boys aged 6 and 9) is coming up fast, and I have a few questions. I’ve seen that quite a few people on this forum are active about Thailand, so I hope you can help me out :-)

- I have a Free mobile plan with a good amount of data abroad (35GB). Do you know if the Bolt or Grab apps work well with a French SIM? I’ve read that the app might not work if the SIM isn’t Thai, but I’ve also seen French travelers using their SIMs in Thailand, so I’m not sure what to think.

- What tips do you have to avoid traveler’s diarrhea (especially for our 6- and 9-year-olds)? I’m already preparing them to wash their hands often and not put their hands in their mouths or brush their teeth with tap water (they’re still little and might not control the water well in their mouths). Are there certain dishes or food stands to avoid? Are ice cubes really off-limits too?

- We arrive in Bangkok at 9 AM, and we have a French-speaking guided tour scheduled for the next morning (all day). The itinerary isn’t finalized yet with the guide—I need to get back in touch soon. What do you recommend doing on that first day, which might be tiring after the long flight and jet lag? Our hotel has a nice pool, but I’d love for us to get out and explore a bit :-)

- Is the Grand Palace really best visited early in the morning to avoid crowds?

- I’d love to visit a night or floating market, but they’re all on weekends. Unfortunately, we’re in Bangkok from Wednesday to Saturday morning (then we take the train to Ayutthaya in the morning). Is there a market on Friday night? I saw Chatuchak, but Friday night doesn’t seem like the best time—is it still worth going?

I’ve looked for answers to these questions, but I’m either not finding a definitive answer or I’m overwhelmed by all the things to do/see in Bangkok. So, I’m hoping your advice or experiences can help me out!

Hi there, As mentioned earlier, we're heading off for a month to explore some parts of Thailand in July/August, and I’ve got a few practical questions I’m hoping you can help with based on your experiences. Thanks in advance!

- Can you choose the denominations at exchange bureaus/ATMs? How do you avoid ending up with only 1000-baht notes when exchanging large sums? - If not, is there an easy way to get change? Any alternatives to buying stuff at 7-Eleven? - Can you buy train tickets from Thonburi to Kanchanaburi in advance? Is there usually space available, considering some people do the Death Railway day trip from Bangkok to Sai Yok Noi? - Is there room for luggage on the trains to Kanchanaburi? We’ll be traveling as a group of four with two large checked-baggage-sized suitcases (25 kg each). - Kanchanaburi: Most day tours allow around 3 hours at Erawan Falls. Is that enough, or is it worth spending the whole day there, especially at the start of the rainy season when it’s a bit greener? - In Sam Roi Yot, are there taxis/Grab/Bolt available for exploring the surrounding areas? I’d appreciate any numbers or addresses. - Does True (7-Eleven) have good coverage across Thailand, from Sam Roi Yot to Chiang Rai, or should we go with AIS? - In Bangkok, if you need to switch BTS lines, do you need a new ticket, or can you change lines as long as you don’t exit the station?

I really loved Thailand, but it was too touristy for my taste. So I'm hesitating about going back and wondering if Cambodia or Vietnam would be less crowded with tourists...

Bonjour, Nous partons à 2 en Thaïlande en janvier 2020 pour un mois, et j'envisage de partager mon séjour en : 2/3 en Issan et 1/3 de plage. Et j'aurai besoin de vos conseils et avis. Nous sommes allés souvent en Thaïlande, mais jamais en janvier....

-En arrivant à Bangkok de France, j'ai déjà réservé un vol Bangkok/ Loeï afin de rejoindre Chiang Khan le même jour. Je compte rester 5 nuits à Chiang Khan, est ce que c'est correct ou est ce que ce n'est pas trop long ? Y-a-t-il des balades aux alentours( à pied ou en scooter)

-Par la suite je prévois de rejoindre Nong Khaï( que je connais déjà) par la route en longeant le Mékong. Est ce que le transport est facile entre Chiang Khan et Nong Khaï? Bus ? Mini van ? Combien de temps de transport en moyenne ?Est ce que ça vaut le coup de faire une halte d'une nuit quelque part entre ces 2 villes ?

-De Nong Khaï, je veux aller et loger à Bueng Khan pour être assez proche du Wat Phu Tuk. Même question que précédemment...Est ce que les moyens de transport sont faciles et fréquents entre ces 2 villes et combien de temps.. ? Pour rejoindre le site du Wat Phu Tuk je suppose qu'il faut passer par une agence ou un guide ? Doit-on prendre obligatoirement un taxi ?

-De Bueng Khan je prévois de rejoindre Udon Thani en bus ou mini van, Est ce faisable ? J'ai lu qu'il fallait environ 3heures... ? A Udon Thani, est ce que le lac aux lotus rouges vaut le déplacement ? Car j'ai vu qu'il n'est pas tout près.

-D'Udon Thani je voulais aller directement vers Krabi par avion, mais il n'y a que le vol vers Phuket qui arrive à 19h. Donc je dois obligatoirement dormir à Phuket. Quel endroit est le mieux pour passer une nuit afin de rejoindre facilement Ko Lanta par le ferry ? J'ai vu qu'il avait plusieurs compagnies, donc quel ferry est le mieux ? Ou bien vaut-il mieux rejoindre Krabi plutôt que Kho Lanta? Ou rester quelques jours sur Phuket... ?

J'ai lu pas mal d'avis mais je suis encore très indécis pour ces destinations plages de Phuket, Krabi, Kho Lanta et quel serait le meilleur «circuit» sur 10 jours, en arrivant par l'aéroport de Phuket et en repartant de Krabi en sachant que je ne veux pas speeder?

J'avais l'habitude de voyager en Thaïlande en juillet, et pour ceux qui connaissent, ma plage préférée pour juillet , était Thong Nai Pan Noï à Kho Phangan, mais c'est la première fois que je voyage en janvier et donc je ne connais pas du tout Phuket ou Krabi. Est ce qu'il est intéressant de rester quelques jours sur Phuket et si oui, quelle plage.... ? Hors Patong ou Kata... et surtout pas pour faire la fête mais un endroit cool( j'ai compris que janvier était la haute saison.....). J'ai entendu parler de Railey ? Freedom beach ? ou d'autres?

Et pour Kho Lanta et Krabi quel est votre plage préférée....?( qui ressemblerait à Tong Naï Pan Noï...!lol).

Hi there, I’m arriving in Thailand with my family on February 9th (2026). We land at BKK that day and then take a direct flight to Krabi.

My first little question is this: We’ve booked a hotel 4 km from the airport (B2Krabi). Should I reserve a taxi through an app (which one?) to get there, or do you think I’ll easily find a taxi/tuk-tuk on the spot, considering we’ll arrive around 8/9 PM? Any idea of the expected price (for three people) for this short trip?

For the Krabi/Ko Phi Phi route, I’m not entirely sure where the departure point is—I’ve attached a photo of the map. Which company is the most affordable? Do you think I can buy my ticket the day before departure and still be sure to get seats? Is it better to book in advance (and if so, on which site)? Same question for the return trip from Ko Phi Phi to Krabi!

I’m heading to Thailand in February 2025 with my family (my partner and two kids), and we’ll be spending a few days in Khao Sok.

I plan to fly into Surat Thani Airport from Bangkok, but I haven’t booked the flight yet because I can’t find clear, up-to-date info on transportation between the airport and Khao Sok village (we’re staying at Green Mountain View).

If possible, I’d love to find a direct transfer that doesn’t require going through Surat Thani city.

The site https://12go.asia/ has a lot of options, but I’ll admit it’s pretty confusing—especially since I’m not sure which arrival time to pick:



Then there’s a mix of taxi and minivan offers, some with schedules, some without, and some that don’t even match the destination I chose. It’s all a bit overwhelming!

I’ve also read that Phantip Travel offers cheap transfers, but their website doesn’t list Khao Sok as a destination when you select Surat Thani Airport.

Basically, I just want to play it safe—book the right flight with a schedule that makes it easy to get to Khao Sok without any hassle...
