Je pars seule (pour des raisons logistique et financière mon mari ne me suit pas) pendant 15 jours du 3 au 17 décembre avec Leclerc voyage pour TUI , le circuit Sourire Thaï avec extension à Jomtien, Y a t il des personnes parmis ce forum qui ferait ce même circuit au même date ?
J'ai un peu peur d'être seule mais je souhaite vraiment faire ce voyage, besoin phsyique et psychique !!
Tout est organisé, avion, hôtel sauf 4 repas je crois et les repas de midi pendant l'extension à Jomtien mais je ne me fais pas de soucis sur le fait que je puisse me nourrir, sauf une question, faut il vraiment se méfier des repas dans la rue ? (je me suis fais vacciné contre l'hépatite A au cas où), ayant une sclérose en plaque je ne veux prendre aucun risque enfin même si je n'avais pas de SEP en fait !!
Puis je boire un de leur jus de fruit frais sans risque ?
Autres questions
- si je prend environ 600 ou 700 euros d'argent de poche ça vous parrait correcte ou trop ?
je compte me faire plaisir avec du shopping (dans la limite de ma valise) plus des souvenirs pour ma famille ( 4 freres et soeurs, autant de beau frere et belle soeur et surtout 11 neveu et nièce) sans compter mon mari et mon fils, bref tout eune tribu
- Je dois faire un peu de change avant de partir ou vaut mieux à Bangkok ?
- je voudrais acheter une carte sim assez rapidement pour donner de mes nouvelles, donc achat à l'aeroport ou centre ville ? je sais que je peux chez AIS à l'aeroport mais si c'est en ville que me conseillez vous ?
Sinon je sais qu'il ne faut pas laisser son passeport (toujours photocopie), ne pas boire l'eau du robinet ou bouteille ouverte, mais si vous avez d'autres conseils je suis preneuse.
Ah et les insectes et autres bêtes !! je risque d'en rencontrer beaucoup ? (phobie des guêpes, abeilles, bourdon et toute cette famille)

Where can we find accommodation close to a pretty beach that's not too touristy but not isolated either, near a small town or village? We've already been to Surin Beach on Phuket Island. Nous serons en Thaïlande pour tout le mois de mars 2020, en famille avec un pti bout de 3 ans. Ce voyage s'inscrit dans un voyage de plusieurs mois en Asie, qui nous verra arriver à Bangkok en provenance du Sri Lanka (début mars), et repartir de Krabi (fin mars) pour nous diriger vers Kuala Lumpur et la Malaisie pour le mois d'avril.
Nous voulons consacrer ce mois en Thaïlande (où nous n'avons jamais voyagé) à descendre tout doucement de Bangkok à Krabi en prenant notre temps.
Tout d'abord avez-vous des infos particulières sur le mois de mars en Thaïlande (centre et sud)? Des zones à éviter? De ce que j'ai lu c'est plutôt une bonne période en faisant attention aux fortes chaleurs.
Dans un premier temps le but est de descendre via le train, qui est un moyen de déplacement que l'on apprécie particulièrement, de Bangkok jusqu'à Chumphon en faisant des étapes intermédiaire :
Hua hin Prachuap Khiri Khan Alentours de Chumphon
Auriez-vous des conseils? Ou des idées d'autres étapes dans le secteur?
Ensuite de Chumphon, l'idée était de se diriger vers la côte Andaman pour se diriger tout doucement vers Krabi :
Ranong, je ne connais absolument pas ce secteur mais j'ai lu beaucoup de choses qui m'ont donné envie sur cette région et les îles qui s'y trouvent.
Khao lak et la baie de Phang Nga
Et enfin Krabi
Si nous avons le temps nous rajouterons quelques jours sur une île dans le secteur de Krabi (Ko Lanta, Phi Phi? ) mais je n'ai pas encore creusé la question, donc si vous avez des suggestions c'est avec plaisir ^^

I’m a die-hard fan of India, but it’s time I discovered Thailand too to broaden my Asian horizons.
I’m heading there on January 19, 2025, for a 46-day trip (no visa needed as I’m French). I’ve pored over a few guidebooks and travel blogs. Based on what caught my interest, I’ve put together a rough itinerary and list of sights. But since I know absolutely nothing about Thailand, I’m kind of flying blind here.
Since I’m not exactly a spring chicken anymore, I’ve opted for a few bases where I’ll stay several days in the same place. That way, I won’t have to change locations and hotels every day or so, packing and unpacking my suitcase constantly. Instead, I plan to explore the surrounding area each day, within a maximum radius of 50 to 70 km.
So, first question: Is that kind of round-trip distance manageable in a day in Thailand?
In India, renting a car for a day—with a driver—currently costs around 35 to 40 € per day. Knowing that 1,300 to 1,500 THB would be my absolute max, and even then, only if I don’t rent a car every single day.
Which brings me to my second question: Am I being unrealistic?
Otherwise—third question—once I’m settled in the city I’ve chosen as my base, can I get around within that 50–70 km radius using public transport?
I’ve already booked all my hotels—with free cancellation—on booking.com at an average price of 950/1,000 THB per night. Does that put me in a good range for value for money? Or am I dreaming?
Here’s my plan:
BANGKOK (13 days, 14 nights): 1 week for exploring Bangkok – Kanchanaburi/Erawan National Park? – Ayutthaya/Lopburi? – Muang Boran – Samut – Songkram/Amphawa

Could those of you who know share some prices, please?
Do you think a budget of 100 € per day is reasonable?
I’ve read in some places that it’s more than enough, and in others that it’s really tight 😕

I’m heading to Thailand for the first time in early 2026 and I’m really struggling to pick a neighborhood to stay in Bangkok. Apart from being close to public transport (metro, skytrain, BRT), I’m torn between several areas. I don’t mind using public transport or walking long distances, but if every trip takes 45 minutes or an hour, it’ll quickly become a hassle given our relatively short time there.
We’ll be in Bangkok twice during our trip: first for a “short” 2-night stopover (arriving from France in the mid-afternoon, then leaving the day after next for southern Thailand by plane), and then again for 3 nights before flying back to France (arriving at the airport in the late afternoon, 3 nights there, then departing for France in the late morning).
I’ve seen so many different recommendations that I’m having a hard time deciding. I’ve read that staying near the river is great for sightseeing, and that taking the boat to get around is really pleasant. But I’m worried about being a bit isolated for evening outings (eating at a cheap little restaurant, having a drink—nothing too wild!).
Chinatown is tempting for the food—it looks amazing—and it doesn’t seem too far from the main sights with public transport. But I’ve read that it’s very noisy because it’s super touristy and there’s constant truck traffic. My friend isn’t thrilled about it, especially since another neighborhood interests her because she has a great discount at a hotel near Victory Monument/Phaya Thai (the Pullman hotel). Even though it’s close to public transport, I’ve seen that it’s mostly a shopping district? And even with transport, isn’t it a long trip to visit places like the Grand Palace?
We also had a plan to stay at an ibis near BTS Nana station in the Sukhumvit area, but again, I get the feeling it’s mostly a shopping district?
Anyway, I’d love to hear your thoughts because I’m really torn!
It’s also true that I haven’t really planned our Bangkok stays yet. I’d like to do the “classic” tourist sights like the Grand Palace and eat really well! Someone told me that the big shopping malls also have amazing food 🙂

After a lot of searching, exchanging ideas, and thinking it over, I’ve decided to go back to my original plan of spending two weeks in Bangkok. From January 19th to February 2nd. I’ll also take a quick trip for one night/two days to Ayutthaya (and return to Bangkok, where I’ll have kept the apartment I booked), and possibly the same for Kanchanaburi, depending on how I feel once I’m there—whether I find something more interesting in Bangkok or nearby.
The key word is: taking my time to take photos, observe, taste, savor (in every sense of the word), and most importantly, not rushing.
Beyond the must-see tourist spots, I’d love to wander around the city and maybe within a 40 to 50 km radius for a day trip to discover unusual and lesser-known streets, houses, temples, markets, gardens, and more.
I’ll also be spending two weeks in Chiang Mai and two weeks in Nan.
I’m open to any suggestions. Thank you so much!

Our next trip to Thailand is coming up, and we just can't wait! We talk, eat, drink, and dream Thailand 😏
Our itinerary is mostly set, and we’ve found quite a few new things to explore, but I’d still love to hear your recommendations for Bangkok. Just so you know: we love this city, and every time we visit, we spend several days there without ever feeling like we’ve seen it all. So this year, we’re staying for 8 days! Here’s what we have planned this year: * Exploring Nonthaburi * A day trip to Nakhon Pathom (to test out our basic Thai skills 😛) * Khlong Lat Mayom floating market (we went 10 years ago—it’s probably changed a lot!) * The Erawan Museum (we visited Muang Boran on our last trip) * Finally taking the time to check out Wat Phra Sri Maha Mariamman and Wat Yannawa (we’ve planned to go several times but never made it—are they worth a visit?)
This is what we’ve picked so far, but I’d love to hear about the favorite spots and recommendations from travelers who, like us, adore Bangkok.

Here’s what we have planned this year: * Exploring Nonthaburi * A day trip to Nakhon Pathom (to test out our basic Thai skills 😛) * Khlong Lat Mayom floating market (we went 10 years ago—it’s probably changed a lot!) * The Erawan Museum (we visited Muang Boran on our last trip) * Finally taking the time to check out Wat Phra Sri Maha Mariamman and Wat Yannawa (we’ve planned to go several times but never made it—are they worth a visit?)
This is what we’ve picked so far, but I’d love to hear about the favorite spots and recommendations from travelers who, like us, adore Bangkok.

bonjour je reste 3 jours a chiang Rai et j aimerai etre dans le centre sans doute la vieille ville avec des restaurants enfin le centre un petit guest house simple pas trop cher merci de m aider Fanfancom

ou alors il y a des étrangers "illégaux" qui ont réussi à rentrer dans le pays du côté de pataya bref mystère...par la mer n'importe qui peux arriver sur le sol thai..et reste planqué sans être découvert... (nous avons la connaissance de cas comme ça) le pays est grand ils ne peuvent pas tout surveiller par terre / mer... faut arrêter de nous prendre pour des andouilles
bon et bien croisons les doigts du coup ils vont bien voir que ce n'est pas que des étrangers qui contaminent les pays et donc faudrait espérer qu'ils ouvrent les portent du pays en exigeant une bonne assurance pour le covid, le port des masques dans les lieus publics en visitant et que la vie continue au lieu de couler des milliers d'agences et d'hôtels!!!

Le rêve de mon épouse est de passer Noël et nouvel an au soleil...
Je pense que 40 ans , c'est le moment ;-).
Nous sommes des habitués des clubs mexicains, cubains etc en all in.
Je remarque que a Khao lak, Patong, et autres , les hôtels sont uniquement logement petit dej .
Je suppose que ma question trouvera peut-être difficilement réponse mais manger midi et soir à l'hôtel est il fort onéreux ? Ou alors faut il trouver un hotel proche de restaurants et bars de rue ?
J'ai peur de me retrouver avec 2000€ de note en boissons et repas a la fin du séjour.

Qui est à Bangkok en ce moment pour témoigner un peu de l’ambiance sur place et notamment là où habituellement il y a beaucoup de monde et d’animations comme kao san road ou sukhumvit ?
Je suis actuellement à KohNgai et il n’y a pratiquement personne, c’est à la fois agréable et inquiétant sans parler de la perte économique pour ceux qui vivent du tourisme.
En théorie.... je rejoins Bangkok le 26 mars pour repartir à Paris avec la Qatar mais d’ici là....qui sait ?.?

Bonjour nous prevoyons un sejour de 2 semaines en thailande en mars nous avons prevu d'atterir a phucket et faire les iles kho phi phi et kho lanta et apres aller sur khao lak.si quelqu'un peut me donner des conseils et surtout quoi prendre comme transports et les visites a faire temples etc.. et les restos pour pas aller ds les attrapes touristes mrrci a tous de vos reponses.

Ces îles ne sont pas proches, dans un idéal nous aimerions faire 2 ou 3 îles sur ces 10 jours et éviter les îles où il y a trop de tourisme festif
