Bonjour, je vais bientôt m'installer au Sénégal (début octobre) et je cherche à acheter une voiture. Est-ce que quequ'un aurait un retour d'expérience sur le sujet ? Des conseils ou une idée des tarifs des voitures d'occasion.
Pas très facile de trouver une bonne voiture d'occase: c'est la foire à tout et à rien. Tu risques de tomber sur une bonne... sans le faire exprès, alors qu'elle ne te parait pas bien au premier abord, ou sur une mauvaise qui te parait bien, parce que tous les défauts ont été maquillés.
essaie toutefois ce site; c'est encore là que tu risques le moins. Mais la variété est variable... en fonction des arrivées et des départ des "expats".

Il n'est pas facile de répondre à votre question. Il faut être plus précis ( type de véhicule, marque, âge...etc).
Sur place on peut trouver toute sorte de véhicule d'occassion. Mais attention faite vous accompagner de quelqu'un de sérieux, qui connait bien le marché et les véhicules de qualité.
Je comprends tout à fait qu'il faille être plus précis ;-)
Alors je précise : on m'a recommandé de rester dans les marques peugeots car bien connu des sénégalais. Le budget est de max 3.000.000 FCFA, à partir de là, je regarde en fait les modèles 306/206 (bien qu'il me semble que ce dernier modèle soit un peu plus cher d'occasion). Ensuite je ne connais pas le budget assurance qu'il faut prévoir ...
Les modéles plus rescents comme la 306 ou la 206 coûtent un peu plus de 3 million de francs cfa( dans les 4; 4, 5 voire 5 )
Pour l'assurance, c'est à peu prés 60 milles francs cfa l'année et 18 ou 24 milles francs pour la taxe annuelle(en fonction de la puissance du moteur pour les véhicules de cette envergure.
Si t'as 10 jours à perdre, tu achètes ta voiture en France et tu te rends au Sénégal par la route. C'est devenu très facile maintenant (oublie pas le visa pour la Mauritanie). Et tu gangeras un facteur 2 sur le prix de la voiture. En plus tu peux la remplir de tas de machins comme des pièces mécaniques que tu revendras cher.
Si tu peux t'offrir une voiture de moins de 5 ans pas de soucis. Sinon, il va falloir magouiller, envoie moi un message si tu veux que je t'explique.
Si la voiture est achetée sur place, rien n'est requis. Il suffit de faire le contrôle technique (un garagiste peut le faire sans même voir la voiture ...) et ensuite d'avoir une assurance (genre AXA ou AGF).
Par contre en cas d'entrée dans le pays, légalement, la voiture doit avoir moins de 5 ans, mais il y a toujours moyen de s'arranger au Sénégal.
Connaissez vous en moyenne les prix d'achat de voiture sur place, une voiture en bon état (pas un 4x4)
et le prix des douanes est ce cher, faut il beaucoup de document pour faire venir une voiture ?
Je suppose que si je veux faire venir une voiture de plus de 5 ans, il faut que je verse un pot de vin?
En dehors des particuliers, y a t'il des agences fiables ou je peux acheter une voitures d'occasion ?

Les voitures au sénégal sont soient très agées et alors pas chers, soient récentes et alors plus chers qu'en Europe. Cela pour la simple raison qu'il est maintenant interdit d'importer des automobiles des plus de 5 ans et que les droits de douane à l'importation sont de 48% de la valeur argus, sans parler des frais d'acheminement pour transporter les véhicules.
Les voitures anciennes se réparent bien car les sénégalais sont de très bons mécaniciens, aussi les voitures qui ne roulent plus en europe car trop cher a réparer roulent encore bien au Sénégal. De plus la police est assez tolérente sur l'état des voitures. il existe un nombre impressionnant de voiture sans feux et dont le parrebrise est cassé et qui roulent sous les yeux de la police. Même les taxis roulent avec des parrebrise abîmé. Les voitures francaises sont très appréciées des Sénégalais. On trouve sur place un nombre important de Peugeot 307, de Citoën C3 de Renault 21...
Il existe un trafic de voitures volés ou dont l'identité de la voiture est falcifié aussi ma recommandation est d'acheter dans un garage officiel ou de bien vous assurez que les les documents fournis sont officiels. Il est important aussi de vérifier que les numéros au chassis et sur le moteur correspondent au numéro de la carte grise.
Pour vivre depuis 3 ans 1/2 au Sénégal je tempérerais quand même cet enthousiasme :
1/ La police n'est pas tolérante, mais corrompue, donc un petit billet et ils passent l'éponge. Sur un étranger, ils seront même plus exigeants, sachant que ces derniers sont plus facilement impressionnables.
2/ Les Sénégalais sont de très bons mécaniciens, c'est tout à fait vrai, mais ils ne vont pas hésiter à surfacturer et à "inventer" des réparations. Impossible alors de savoir si ce qu'on paie et ce qui est fait (ou alors il faut s'y connaître, rester la journée au garage à voir faire les réparations devant vous, vérifier qu'aucune pièce récente n'est remplacée par une ancienne pour être revendue, etc.).
Du coup j'ai acheté neuf, c'est beaucoup plus cher, c'est vrai, mais ça se revend bien. Les tarifs ont quand même très nettement baissé et je n'ai acheté ma voiture "que" 15% plus cher qu'en Europe. Maintenant la somme est récupérable à la revente pour peu qu'on en prenne soin.

After living for many years in the West (Belgium, Italy, Switzerland),
I’ve decided to return and settle in Cameroon, my home country.
