Cela fait 10 ans que je me rends de une a deux fois par an au usa et je viens de revenir de los angeles ou j'ai passe trois semaines avec ma femme et mes enfants.
Nous souhaiterions allez vivre en californie, nous pensons vendre notre maison et partir la bas, voir pendant un an dans quoi nous pourrions investir(pt ouvrir un petit resto, un petit commerce, ...) et si nous nous y plaisons pt rester, seulement voila cela a l'air bien plus complique que je ne croyais que je lis les differentes discussions, quel type de visa devenons nous demander? est il interressant de s'y rendre avec un visa de tourisme allonge et d'inscrire les enfants a l'ecole?il parait qu'elle peut faire une demande visa a ce moment la pour nous? ou dois je , via un avocat, faire une demande de visa pour affaire?pensez vous que venant de belgique , avec un certain capital puisse etre des atouts pour l'obtemption d'un visa?
Mon idee est de louer un appartement dans un condo pour un an et d'acheter une voiture(si je peux l'immatriculer?), d'inscrire mes enfants soit dans une ecole americaine(nous ciblons les "bons" quartier) soit au lyce francais.
J'espere que vous pourrez nous aider, nous sommes vraiment decide a partir :)

tu ne peux pas partir vivre en 1 an aux US sans avoir un projet mieux defini:
- tu peux partir en tant que touriste 6 mois, renouvellable 6 mois (donc prouver au consul et a l'immigration que tu as de quoi vivre pour toi et ta famille pendant 1 an SANS travailler aux US).
- L'ecole ne fera pas une demande de visa pour vous! 😇
un etudiant (on ne parle pas de la maternelle la) qui souhaite faire des etudes aux US obtient un papier de sa fac qui lui sera demande pour sa demande de visa etudiant.
- apres si tu veux monter une affaire, la tu devras monter un business plan avec l'aide d'un avocat, et ce sera au consul de voir si cette affaire est viable ou pas (il faut aussi pas mal de $$ pour 'etre pris au serieux' par l'immigration/consul);😉

Commencez plutôt par aller là-bas en touriste (vous pouvez y aller jusqu'à 1 an mais il faudra un visa touristique) avant de faire des projets de monter une entreprise. une fois que vous aurez assez d'infos (étude de marché, développer un réseau de contacts "networking") vous reviendrez en Belgique pour préparer le tout sérieusement.

pour que tu puisses obtenir un visa par un employeur, il devra te sponsoriser et monter un dossier a l'aide d'avocat qui montre qu'il ne peut pas trouver une personne vivant deja aux states pour faire ton travail.
si je peux me permettre le fait d'etre chef d'entreprise n'est pas vraiment une competence en soi sauf a diriger une grosse société

et pour la loterie green card, ils disent qu'il faut etre diplome ou effectuer un travail qui recquiert des etudes depuis au moins deux ans, crois-tu que mon emploi rentre dans cette derniere qualification?
pour un visa de travail il te faudra aussi presenter des etudes et/ou de l'experience.
c'est a toi de demarcher ou de repondre a des annonces...si l'employeur US est ok pour t'embaucher, vous commencerez le process pour le visa de travail.
pour la loterie: il faut avoir le Bac ou des annees d'experience dans un meme domaine.
la loterie est un process un peu different...ca n'a 'presque' rien a voir avec tes competences et tes langues parlees.😉

On ne compare pas la situation de gens venant de pays défavorisés avec celle des Européens 🙁
Beaucoup d'illégaux passent leur vie aux États-Unis et ont une situation précaire mais qu'ils acceptent car c'est mieux que dans leur pays d'origine. Certains d'entre eux finissent par avoir leur papiers en épousant une Américaine(e) ou lors de vagues de rétablissement du statut qu'offrent le gouvernement. Mais leur vie n'est pas rose...
Mais vous, vous êtes un Européen arrivant avec femme et enfants d'un pays riche. Vous VOUDREZ avoir les mêmes standards que les Nord-Américains, comme une petite maison, un véhicule, envoyer vos enfants dans de bonnes écoles et ensuite à l'université, voyager, etc.
Ne partez pas vivre dans un pays à n'importe quel prix. Votre situation n'est pas précaire. Vivre aux États-Unis, ce n'est pas l'Eldorado non plus...
Alors je vous dis, préparez sérieusement votre projet. Commencez par un voyage de longue durée. Louez un appartement. Prospectez, prenez vos infos, parlez à des gens. Quand vous trouverez un employeur potentiel, faites vos démarches (entretien, demande de visa). Vous DEVREZ retourner en Belgique éventuellement pour régulariser votre dossier à l'ambassade, vous ne pourrez pas le faire sur place!
Pour les écoles, non, sans visa (autre que touriste) vous ne pourrez pas inscrire vos enfants. Les écoles publiques sont réservées aux résidents US et payés par les impôts de ces derniers. Vous ne pourrez pas passer votre permis de conduire non plus, puisqu'ici le permis de conduire est une pièce d'identité officielle (un peu l'équivalent de votre carte d'identité nationale). Seuls les détenteurs d'un visa étudiant ou travailleur peuvent avoir le permis pour la quasi totalité des états.
Un projet d'immigration ça se prépare et ça prend du temps. Mais il faut aussi savoir dans quoi on s'embarque.

desole de vous deranger avec mon projet mais j'ai deux dernieres choses a vous demander , suite a une de vos reponses il semblerait que je ne puisse pas inscrire mes enfants a l'ecole (ce ki parait logique), du coup je vais me tourner vers une ecole privee, qui je le suppose (du moins je l'espere) ne refusera pas d'accepter mes enfants dans la mesure ou je paye et donc ne coute rien a la collectivite.
Ceci etant j'ai regarde et j'ai vu que les prix tourne aux alentours de 300$/mois et il parle tous du tuition fee.... savez vous si c'est a payer chaque annee et si cela est remboursable lorsque l'on quitte l'etablissement(comme une sorte de garantie)?
Et ma derniere question est la suivante, j'ai contacte un concessionaire audi officiel et il me dit qu'en achetant une voiture chez lui il prendra en charge la procedure avec la DMV pour avoir une plaque et avec la compagnie d'assurance (meme avec un visa touriste de 2 x 6 mois et avec une driver license europeenne!), il me dit que je peux rouler avec pendant un an sans probleme et puis la revendre, pourtant cela va un peu a l'encontre de ce que j'ai pu lire ici, ou il parait qu'il faut une adresse americaine, savez vous ou je pourrais m'informer? peut etre vous meme avez vous des infos a ce sujet?
pour les ecoles: je ne sais pas (mais $300 par mois pour une ecole privee ? c'est vraiment pas beaucoup!!)
pour la voiture: pas sur que cela marche comme ca...mais bon le mec de chez Audi a besoin de vendre des voitures donc il peut dire ce qu'il veut 😉
en tous les cas: apres 3 mois sur place: tu ne peux plus conduire avec ton permis europeen (surtout si tu as ta propre voiture).
pour avoir un permis US: il faut avoir un numero de secu (dans la plupart des etats: apres chaque etat a ses procedures)
pour enregistrer une voiture aux US: adresse americaine et numero de SS demande (je parle de mon cas)
concernant l'assurance: mon assureur a 'exige' un permis US et une adresse US...(je parle de mon cas)
