Je compte partir 1 an à Sydney au alentour du mois de septembre, pour apprendre l'anglais et travailler.
Je souhaitais avoir quelques conseils pour préparer mon départ, surtout avoir le ressenti des expat sur les difficultés lors de l'arrivée (logement, travail...).

je t'écris pour te dire que je pars aussi un an à sydney pour travailler à partir de Juin. je compte me loger en auberge de jeunesse au début et trouver un logement sur place ainsi qu'un job. il parait que c'est assez facile de trouver un petit job en australie. si tu veux je te laisse mon adresse pour pouvoir discuter et te renseigner un peu plus et pourquoi pas se donner rdv sur sydney pour boire un coup!

Si tu arrives en Septembre c est encore l hiver sur l axe Sydney-Melbourne et il faudra accepter la pluie. C est par contre le meilleur moment pour Cairns et le nord, et comme d hab il ferra beau sur l axe Perth-Brisbane.
Pour le logement ca ne sert pas a grand chsoe de chercher depuis l europe. C est en arrivant sur place que l on trouve car personne ne fait vraiment confiance a ceux qui ecrivent de l autre cote de la terre en promettant arriver bientot payer la caution. La nuit en auberge coute 12 a 18 euros. Ou alors tu arrives deja inscrit a un cours d elangues et l ecole te fourira le logement a l arrivee.
Si tu veux suivre des cours d anglais en Australie a Sydney compter sur 500 a 550 euros par mois pour une tres bonne ecole en plein centre ville et un cours a temps plein.
Dans les autres villes australiennes la concurrence entre ecoles est moins forte et ca tourne alors plus vers les 700 euros.
Les ecoles qui font de la pub en Europe proposent des prix bien plus eleves mais elles savent qu ici personne ne s y inscrira car c est bien trop cher et leurs cours ne sont pas meilleurs pour autant.
Une fois que tu as un assez bon niveau en anglais il est bien plus facile de trouver un boulot et au moins tu es certaine d avoir appris la langue. Pour le boulot il n y a pas de miracle, je peux t envoyer des references de sites pour trouver du boulot ici mais l ideal est encore et toujours de faire le tour des bars et nagasins ton CV sous le bras en demandant si ils ont besoin de quelqu un, A toi alors d etre convaincante. Reste sinon l option du ramassage des fruits et ne pas oublier de faire le tour des auberges voir les annonces de soietes cherchant des bakpackers pour differents petits boulots.

Pour ma part je reste 4 mois à Sydney dont 1 mois en ecole de langue ce qui permet a ton arriver d'etre loger part l'ecole et surtout revoir de manière intensif toutes tes bases en anglais. Apres je chercherais un job dans les bars ou la restauration et un apparte (chambre ou studio). Ensuite je partirais pour Brisbane ou la je recommencerais tout a zéro : job, apparte, ..... Pour finir je pense que je remontrais vers Darwin pour rentrer en France et me dire que j'ai a peu pret vu l'australie de bas en haut (de manière tres tres tres accélérer)!!!
Ecoute on se tien o courant !!! ca pourrait etre simpa de se voir la bas et pourquoi pas de se faire les 22 heures d'avion ensemble !!!

Salut🙂!Philgostudy a pratiquement tout dis!Attention école + cours de langue car tu peux te retrouvé loger en banlieu et le "rer" coûte cher!D'ailleurs, j'avais vu un français qui recherchait un apart en centre ville car quand il faisait les comptes.Certes il payait moins cher en banlieue mais avec le tarif des transports an commun.C'était préférable d'être au centre ville.Prévoir des tunes pour la caution et au centre ville t'as vers central station une rue avec pleins d'annonces pour les collocs.
Quand à trouver un job pas si facile que ça, encore plus problématique si tu ne connais pas la langue.Bosser assimil anglais avant de partir...
Sinon éviterde loger à kingcross ça pue, le soir t'as des toxicos et des travs qui font le trottoirs.Et j'ai rendu visite à un pote qui était dans une guesthouse, c'était crade.J'été à côté de central station dans une guest qui fait l'angle de la rue.
Et Sydney, tu te feras vite chier au bout de quelques mois prévois de bouger.Un pote de voyage a fini à Perth et il a dit que c'était beaucoup plus sympas?

Bien sur. Un point: l europe et ses univeristes sont pleins d agents marketing souriants envoyes par des ecoles d ici a grand frais pour "recruter". Leurs prix sont exorbitants (350$AUD par semaine ou plus) mais il savent qu ici tout le monde sait que c est un piege a c... mais pour beaucoup il est deja trop tard. Eux bien sur te jureront sur la bible et tous les saints qu il n y a pas de bons cours ici a moins que leur prix et qu il faut absolument s inscrire 3 mois a l avance. ce n est pas vrai!! Il y a ici d excellentes ecoles pour 250$ la semaine environ. Une fois ici tu peux facilememt aller en voir 2-3 et commencer le lundi suivant. Si tu veux ecris moi un mail 2-3 mois avant d arriver et je t indiquerai lesquelles seront les plus interessantes pour septembre.

Les gens qui viennent ici vont habituellement d abord en auberge "backpack" reservee depuis l europe et cherchent une fois ici via des sites comme www.gumtree.com.au, www.domain.com.au, www.realestate.com.au, etc. Compter sur 150$ par semaine chacun la chambre double. c est prohibitif de mon point de vue (allemand) et raisonnable par rapport a une ville comme Paris.

Aucun prejuge negatif vis a vis des europeens, aucun soucis. Eux memes sont generalement des europeens ici de 2eme ou 3eme generation. Le meilleur moyen c est partir en rue son CV sous le bras et passer dans chaque bar, cafe, magasin, rue apres rue de maniere systematique et efficace. je peux te refiler des infos pour le boulot, n hesite pas a passer une fois n arrivee, on est au 327, PITT street, 17eme etage, a 200 metres de Town hall, l espece de "grand place" de SYdney.
Enfin, est ce qu'on est obligé de créer un compte bancaire là bas?
Non mais je te le conseille vivement. Si tu commences une fois ici a chaque fois retirer depuis un compte en Europe tu vas te ruiner en frais bancaires. La ANZ par exemple est tres bien.

J'arrive debut septembre à Brisbane ! et j'ai trouvé une école qui m'a l'air pas mal: KAPLAN ASPECT, c'est a peu pres 1200€ le mois d'anglais intensif avec logement chez l'habitant !!! Ca te semble correcte ou il faut que je m'oriente vers une autre ecole !

Une dernière petite question, à partir du moment où on s'inscrit sur place, il n'y a pas de "rentrée spéciale" qui nus obligerait à arriver pour une certaine date? Car, on ne sait pas encore si on arrivera en septembre ou en octobre.

Un conseil attention de ne pas se retrouver qu'avec que des français, c'est l'un des problème en Australie ou ailleurs.On part pour un séjour linguistique et au final mise à part l'école ou le job.On passe ces soirées qu'avec des français!Les boules...Déjà en colloc, si c'est possible d'être avec des irlandais(es), norvégien(ne)s etc ça peut le faire.
J'ai vu des français qui n'avait pas tellement progressé en anglais à cause de cela!

Je crois que je viens de repondre sur ton mail prive. Oui, Kaplan est tres bien. Si tu veux que nous nous occupions de ton inscription ca a quelques avantages pour toi. Les cours chez eux sont a 300$ la semaine ce qui est correct pour Brisbane. A sydney les cours sont moins chers car il y a plus de concurrence entre les ecoles.
Pour les cours d angalis a Brisbane et SYdney tu peux commencer chaque lundi, aucun probleme. Ca ne change rien que vous arriviez en septembre ou octobre, mais reserver les cours un peu a lavance est toujours mieux. EN fait dans 98% des ecoles tu peux commencer le lundi de la semaine suivante mais l ecole a Sydney offrant le meilleur rapport qualite - prix est a present constamment remplie 3 mois a l avance, c est un peu l exception qui confirme la regle.

Donc qui dit un an, dit aussi travail, logement et tout le tralala...bref, pourrais tu me donner stp kelkes infos, et puis les régions plus ou moins conseillés pour le travail et y vivre quelques temps, je pencherai plus sur la coloc, qu'est ce que t'en pense ? est ce que ça se fait là bas, ou c'est mieux de faire autrement. After living for many years in the West (Belgium, Italy, Switzerland),
I’ve decided to return and settle in Cameroon, my home country.
Currently an entrepreneur in real estate and transport, I’m looking for a partner / partners / foundation to collaborate on an agriculture project, as I own 10 hectares of land.
The hectares have remained unused for years due to a lack of financial means, since the project requires what I’d call a considerable investment. As the main stakeholder, I have a minimal contribution to offer.

If anyone knows the rates charged by movers for a crate to French Polynesia, or what pitfalls to avoid (I know you can get quotes directly from movers, but I’d love insights from actual customers😉).

Actually, I’m currently doing a postgraduate diploma in pediatric respiratory physiotherapy and want to specialize in that area. Anyway, that’s not the main point—could anyone explain the pros and cons of doing this job in Switzerland? Based on the paperwork I’ve received, the equivalence seems purely administrative or almost... What about working conditions, quality of life, salaries, etc.?
