Mais on raconte à droite et à gauche sur les forums... alors quelques questions avant le départ : 1 : Les frontières Maroc - Mauritanie et Mauritanie - Sénégal sont-elles susceptibles d'être fermées lors de l'élection le 18 juillet ou non ? 2 : Pouvez vous confirmer la possibilité de prendre les visa à la frontière Maroc - Mauritanie ? 3 : Avons pris 2 fois la route de l'Espoir, donc nous pensons passer par le Sénégal pour changer. Possibilité de prendre les visa à la frontière Mauritanie - Sénégal ? 4 : Bonne idée ou pas bonne idée ? Plus long, moins long, accessible aux fourgons? 5 : Si on passe par le Sénégal, faut-il descendre jusqu'à Saint- Louis ou peut-on "longer" le fleuve ? 6 : Possibilité de prendre les visas à la frontière Sénégal - Mali et où y a-t-il frontières ? Je reprends vos réponses : 3 : ma question était mal rédigée, c'était savoir si on pouvait avoir le visa pour le Sénégal au poste frontière de la Mauritanie.
Nous n'avons jamais mis les pieds au Sénégal, et nous aurions bien aimé... mais avec ce que vous nous dites, on ne sait plus. Il va falloir penser!!! Ca veut dire quoi, exactement que le passage de Rosso est ripoux, et la répression de la police à la chasse aux touristes motorisés, i.e sont-ils aussi ou encore plus qu'au Mali ??? Si vous avez le temps de nous raconter un peu... Nous sommes 7 et certains d'entre nous n'ont pas énormément de temps devant eux, une fois la route faite. Nous allons jusqu'à Mopti (et même Koundou, pas avec les fourgons, bien sûr!!!) et évidemment, nous avons du matériel, cf blog

Il n'y a pas de visa pour le Sénégal pour les Européens ...😏
Il délivré au passage frontière pour le véhicule un passavant de 10 jours renouvelable deux fois 15 jours de plus (40 jours) pour 2.500fr cfa (quelque soit l'âge du véhicule)a condition que le jour ou l'heure leurs conviennent , si non c'est plus souvent le double (5.000fr cfa)
Au Mali c'est la chasse à la ceinture de sécurité, au Sénégal c'est la chasse à tout !! y compris la dernière invention du policier qui vient de se réveiller, ce sont des Ripoux avec l'aval de leur gouvernement , ça ne sert à rien de porter plainte ou d'aller au commissariat (c'est le double de l'amende)
Il vous faut = extincteur (à la portée de la main) carnet de vaccination, port de la ceinture, gilet fluo, triangle, assurance auto de la CEDEAO, et une bonne dose d'humour et de patience, ce ne sont plus des vacances, mais la peur du Gendarme multiplier par 100 vis a vis de la France .. Si vous voulez vous gâcher vos vacances passez par le Sénégal ....
Nous avons fait une croix sur ce pays de Ripoux de flics .. et ça nous fait de véritable vacances depuis que nous évitons ce pays de police Ripoux ..
La zone la plus Ripoux reste toujours et encore St Louis du Sénégal, mais le reste du pays n'est pas terriblement mieux ..
Pour le matériel que vous transporter = ça vous fait une frontière de plus à négocier pour ne pas "trop" se faire arnaquer .........
Il est inscrit (comme pour la Mauritanie) l'entrée et sortie du véhicule
Attention au Mali = les cartes grises aux noms des conducteurs (ou passagers), port de la ceinture, aux barrages = ne pas se garer sur le bord de la route comme les Maliens , aller direct aux bidons du centre de la route , vous êtes touristes et en règle, s'il n'y a pas signe physique de la police pour un arrêt (ou panneaux) vous ignorez tout ça , ce ne sont que des contrôles de circulations pour les Maliens (taxe), je fais comme ça , et il y a toujours (un gamin) qui ouvre le "bidon" sur ordre d'un uniforme pour que je puisse passer ..
Si besoin de plus ? en MP (svp) pour ne pas trop cracher sur le Sénégal (tout joli tout beau) humm ...😠

que donc rajouter, je prend souvent avec moi des pitits jouets pour enfants ça fait plaisirs aux douaniers et ça les détourne de mon gas oil en jerrican et de la fouille en règle.
et puis ça ne mange pas de pain et ça évite aussi les sous... ou dessous de sous :-)
Fais tout bien dans les règles de l'art si un flic cherche (surtout le vendredi) à gratter la pièce , personnellement j'ai connu un gars qui a eu une amende car il n'y avait pas de liquide lave glace !! le reste étant en ordre... je vais même faire mes niveaux d'eau maintenant.
mais bon au Mali on peu souvent s'en tirer avec une mutuelle compréhension, j'ai rarement vu des flics bornés.

lorsque tu sorts du maroc, tu entres en mauritanie par bir guendouz. Ils ont l'habitude de te délivrer un visa pour trois jours mais tu peux largement demander un visa de 15 jours si tu le souhaites, et sur place. il y a aussi l'assurance à payr sur place, et vaut mieux l'avoir.
Lorsque tu rentres au mali par Gogui, tu peux avoir un visa d'un mois à regler sur place. Ensuite tu trace sur un km et tu arrives à la douane.. là reste cool et surout tu fais bien comprendre à tous le monde que tu ne vend pas ton véhicule, il est à toi , tu y tiens etc... etc...
vaut mieux avoir la carte grise à ton nom, en fait faut rassurer le brigadier sur le fait que tu ne fais que passer au mali et que tu continues beaucoups plus loin par la suite. Ils font gaffe aut traffics de aisse et surtout la mali essaie de régulariser les véhicules qui sont pas immmatriculé dans leur pays.
De toute façon TOUT dépend de ton attitude, tu es das tono droit de voyager, certes, mais il fait savoir aussi parfois reconnaitre l'autorité d'un poste frontière.
la chase est donnée aux trafiquants de caisse. Si c'est ton cas et que tu comptes vendre ta bagnole à bamako personne ne doit le savoir. Depuis Gogui jus'qua bamako, on va essayer de te faire dire que tu souhaites le vendre. On va te faire des propositions financièrs superbes pour savoir...
reste en règle et fais ton business une faois à bamako. Perso j'ai l'aissé mon toy sur place chez un pote. Mais je suis en train de m'installer là bas donc c'est un peu différents.
Reste cool , ouvert et à l'écoute et tu passeras partout. Sinon je n'ai fait qu'une fois le trajet en décembre 2008, une grande première et j'ai été rencardé pae Papy et Mamy qui sont au top niveaux papiers et le reste d'ailleurs.

Le visa double entrées de 3 mois pris à Nouakchott pour le Mali en 2008 était de =
28, 57 euros, il n'y a pas de délivrance de visa double entrées aux postes frontière seul les ambassades ou à la DST de la capitale du pays sont habilités pour délivrer ce genre de visas ..
Mali = il possible d'avoir le visa simple entrée au passage de frontière pour 1 mois prix de 15.000 fr cfa , il est modifiable à Bamako , mais je ne connais ni où ni le prix ..
Visa burkina à Bamako = c'est l'endroit où est le plus cher : 43 euros simple entrée, le mieux reste de prendre un visa au passage de frontière de 10 jours pour 15.000 fr cfa et de le transformer à Ouaga en visa d'un mois (gratuit) , et si besoin d'aller plus loin ? c'est au même endroit que tu peu avoir le visa de l'entente (VTE) à Ouaga

NON aucune assurance Africaine ne se trouve en France ..
Assurance Maroc = normalement ton assurance Française fonctionne pour le Maroc (3 mois) voir sur feuille verte d'assurance aux lettres "MA"
Mauritanie = assurance Mauritanienne prise à la frontière pour le nombre de jours que tu veux
Assurance de la CEDEAO (carte brune) = au passage frontière du Mali ou du Sénégal (suivant où tu passe)
Visas = il faut un visa pour la Mauritanie , a prendre à Rabat (deux jours) ou passage frontière de 72h transformable en visa de 3 mois (entrées multiples pour le retour) à Nouakchott (15 euro de plus)
Visa Mali = frontière en simple entrée ou à Nouakchott entrées double
Burkina = visa frontière de 10 jours transformable (gratuit) à Ouaga pour 1 mois , c'est au même endroit qu'il te faut prendre le visa de l'entente (VTE)
Visa de l'entente (VTE) = visa pour les 5 pays de l'entente = Burkina/Bénin/Togo/Niger/Côte d'Ivoire) d'un prix de 25.000 fr cfa pour 60 jours
(VTE) = contrairement à la rumeur, avec ce visa il est possible d'entrée plusieurs fois d'un pays à l'autre pendant les 60 jours du visa , il ne faut pas sortir de la zone entente , si non le visa est fini , il est vendu en entrée simple pour la zone entente et pas entrée simple par pays , ne pas confondre pays et zone entente !!
Il restera la contrainte des "laisser passer" pour le véhicule a payer à chaque frontière

Il n'y a pas de goudron et piste trialisante de Kayes à Kita où le goudron recommence pour Bamako ............
OUI pour Bamako/Bougouni/Sikasso/San/Djnné (c'est un tiroir , faire aller retour) il y a un bac/Mopti :Sévaré/Douentza
Douentza/Tombouctou = IMPOSSIBLE EN CC , piste terriblement défoncé , attention au dos, la dernière partie pour rejoindre le bac est très piégeuse (marécage) pour rejoindre le bac , de l'autre côté du fleuve (après le bac) il y a encore 14 kms (goudron) pour Tombouctou !!
Avis personnel = ça ne vaux pas le coup de faire ce trajet (aller/retour) Douentza/Tombouctou , il y a rien a y voir , surtout la froidure des gens , ou la chasse aux rares touristes ....
Je suis passé à l'aller par Gao/Bourem/Gourma/Tombouctou = arrêt du goudron à Gao (impossible d'aller plus loin avec un CC)
Piste très sableuse et défoncé jusqu'à Bourem, joli paysage de bord de fleuve du côté de Gourma , Tombouctou : Boff !!

Si vous allez à Tombouctou , le plus court reste de partir de Douentza et de laisser le CC 2 ou 3 jours , où ??
Par contre entre Douentza et Gao , il y a les monts Hombori à voir sur une bonne partie de la route avec le fameux rocher "la main de Fatma" , c'est bien plus beau que le tape-cul pour aller voir que dalle à Tombouctou , mais c'est possible de faire les deux , surtout Gao aux portes du pays Touaregs .. Après c'est 1/2 tour , ou continuer vers le Niger (avec le visa du Niger) pour Niamey (route neuve)

I’m planning a trip from France to Alberta/British Columbia, and I’m unsure about which bank card to use for the security deposit with the rental company (I’m thinking of going with AVIS).
I contacted Avis Canada, and they told me a credit card is absolutely required. I asked my bank for a credit card (a *real* credit card), but they only offered me a deferred debit card.
My question: For a rental with Avis Canada, is a Gold International Mastercard deferred debit card usable for the security deposit needed to finalize the rental? Is the "CREDIT" label enough? (Some cards say "CREDIT" and others say "CARTE DE CREDIT"—seems minor, but it’s actually a big deal in how the card works.)
I’ve seen conflicting info everywhere I look... My bank says it’s *usually* okay (the deferred debit card), while Avis Canada insists it *must* be a credit card, not debit—even when I mention the deferred debit card.
I know the whole credit card concept is already confusing, and on top of that, some sites say a deferred debit card counts as a credit card, while others say it doesn’t.

I’ll explain my situation.
Unfortunately, I lost my passport, and I only realized it two weeks before my departure for a humanitarian mission in Libya. I’m a nurse, and this mission really means a lot to me.
First, I applied for an emergency passport, but it was denied by the Val-d'Oise prefecture on the grounds that a planned humanitarian mission wasn’t considered an urgent reason.
So, I submitted a biometric passport application on July 20th. Since then, the tracking has been stuck, and the town hall can’t (or won’t) give me any clear information. Every time I call, I get a different story. The last update I received was that the passport had been produced since July 23rd with a status of "about to be shipped," but nothing since then.
I’ve managed to push my departure back to next Tuesday at the latest, but I’m starting to really panic.
Have any of you submitted an application around July 20th, especially in Val-d'Oise (95)? How long did you wait between the passport being produced and it being available at the town hall? Is it normal for this step to take this long?
This mission means so much to me. I had everything organized, and I’m also supposed to attend a friend’s wedding right after near the border.

I’m a bit embarrassed because I need to travel to Quebec from February 27th to March 13th. I’m a regular visitor to Canada—this will be my 10th trip since 1997, plus a year as a permanent resident (2000–2001) and a cross-country run from Vancouver to Halifax in 2011. So, I’m definitely not a terrorist!
But since our last trip in July 2015, they’ve introduced this eTA thing. Seems more like a way to make money than to actually secure Canada, if you ask me, but anyway, that’s not the point.
I applied for an eTA for myself, my wife, and our two kids. They all got approved within hours, but not me! I was asked to create a GC key and then an IRCC account, which I did. Normally, you get news within 72 hours, but since Monday, January 15th, nothing!
In the "message" section of the account, it says "explanation letter (required)" with a deadline of January 25th, but I can’t find any explanation anywhere—despite searching the Canadian government website and Google. No links, nothing!
I’ve emailed them but haven’t heard back yet. I’m thinking of calling the Canadian embassy in Paris tomorrow. Even though I’m not stressing yet, it’d be a bummer if everyone else got to go without me!
If anyone’s had this issue before or knows what this explanation letter is about, I’d love to hear more.

I’ve tried my hotel, the Lotte Hotel (which is well-known in Seoul), the airport—basically, I’ve entered at least 20 addresses, all rejected....

I bought a one-way flight (Ryanair) and a return flight (EasyJet) to spend a week in Morocco in April.
My passport expires 3 weeks after the return date.
Some websites say the passport must be valid for 3 months at the time of entry.
However, it will still be valid both on entry and return, but its validity will only be 1 month at the time of entry (and 3 weeks on the return date, everything prepaid).
It's an individual family trip.
The consulate can't give me an answer—they're still looking into it (really!)
Last year, we stayed for 3 months in Thailand, north of Khao Lak, and were able to benefit from the 2-month visa exemption, renewable for one month by going to Takua Pa to validate a 1-month extension (1,900 baht).
This year, it’s a disaster for us—not only were we planning a 4-month stay, adding a visa run in between (which some say is quite risky), but the law is apparently changing in the coming months with the return of the 1-month exemption (plus the usual 1-month option). So, we looked into applying for a 6-month multiple-entry visa, allowing a maximum of 60 consecutive days in Thailand. However, I can’t find anywhere the minimum time required outside Thailand between two stays—do any of you have an idea?

As a French national, I need to obtain a short-stay visa that can be converted to a long-stay one. To do this, I have to send the required documents to the Madagascar embassy in Paris.
No issues with that procedure so far.
If I get this visa, once I arrive in Madagascar, I’ll need to provide the same documents to the Ministry of the Interior in Anosy. I’m trying to find an email address or website for the Ministry to check which documents I need to submit (I think they ask for additional ones).

I’d like to know if anyone has already applied for a private visa to Russia with an invitation from a Russian resident.
I traveled earlier this year with an e-visa, but since I want to stay longer, I’ll be visiting my friend who lives in eastern Russia.
For the visa application, does the invitation need to be on an official paper form issued by the Russian ministry? And most importantly, do I need to present the original for the application, or is there an electronic version that can be sent directly to the consulate in France?

I filled out the B2 form to apply for a visa, created an account on Atvis to pay the visa fees and schedule a meet-up, but every time I try to pay with my Boursobank Visa 1st card, they refuse the payment with a message telling me to check my details (address), even though everything is correct. Does anyone know why this is happening, or maybe they don’t accept Visa cards? Are you aware of this?

On her ticket, it only has her maiden name (e.g., Martine DUPOND).
On her passport, it’s written as Martine DUPOND épouse AVRY.
No issues for travel, I hope I did the right thing with the ticket?
Then for the ESTA, is just Martine DUPOND enough, or do I need to include the "épouse AVRY" part like on the passport?

I saw on the French Embassy in Peru’s website and the Peruvian Consulate in Paris’s site that the rule is to have a passport valid for 6 months *after the arrival date* (not the return date).
I arrive in Peru on August 13, 2019 (for about twelve days), and my passport is valid until February 16, 2020.
That’s 6 months and 3 days after my arrival date in Peru. In my opinion, I’m good to go.
But could I still be denied entry if they say I don’t cover the return date or that I’m too close to the 6-month mark?
