J'ignore à quelles températures vous êtes habitué.
Prévoir impérativement une veste polaire en sus des habits que vous porteriez pour faire du ski, ou de la randonnée, dans les Alpes. Février est habituellement le mois le plus froid de l'hiver, raison pour laquelle le Carnaval de Québec, par exemple, a toujours eu lieu en février. Prendre: des gants et un foulard chauds, un bandeau frontal ou encore ce que vous appelez un bonnet, et des bottes chaudes. Le pire ennemi n'est pas le froid comme tel, mais le vent qui l'accompagne et vous refroidit d'aplomb si les vêtements ne sont pas appropriés.
Surveiller la météo au moment de faire les bagages: ce site donne celle de Québec (où le froid est plus rigoureux qu'à Montréal, et où il vente pratiquement tous les jours), mais également les prévisions partout au Canada.
p.s.: le festival Montréal en lumières est annulé cette année. Le Carnaval de Québec tient toujours, et plus que jamais, à cause du 400e anniveraire de la ville. Contrairement à Montréal où l'abondante pluie de la semaine dernière a tout fait fondre, nous avons toujours beaucoup de neige présentement à Québec.

À Montreal, il va y avoir le fête des neiges aussi, et il va y avoir de la neige en plus😎 Aussi à 1:30 en voiture de Montréal, il y a Ottawa qui est très bien l'Hiver avec le canal Rideau qui est la plus long patinoir du monde.
Au Québec, à la période ou vous prévoyez venir, vous devez vous attendre à des températures moyennes entre -15 et -25° celcius. Donc manteaux d'hiver chaud, mitaines, bonnets, foulards et bottes chaudes sont de mise.

Saskja a très bien résumé les rigueurs de l'hiver québécois en une phrase ''Le pire ennemi n'est pas le froid comme tel, mais le vent qui l'accompagne et vous refroidit d'aplomb si les vêtements ne sont pas appropriés. '' En gros le vent fait perdre une dizaine de degrés et surtout a la particularité de ''traverser'' les vêtements!! Donc plus on a de couches mieux on se porte!!!
Le Festival Montréal en Lumière n'est pas annulé cette année, pas que je saches en tout cas!! Par contre cela risque fort d'être le cas de la Fete des Neiges!! Fort heureusement le Carnaval de Québec sera là et les sculptures sur glace ne devraient pas fondre comme d'autres années dans le passé!! N'oubliez pas d'aller faire un tour à l'hotel de glace, sans y dormir car ce n'est pas à la portée de toutes les bourses!!

Je viens au canada du 06 au 26 fevrier.
je vais passer 1 semaine à quebec pour l'anniversaire.
Sinon vous me conseiller quoi entre Montréal ou Ottawa ?
Je vais visiter les 2 villes mais c'est mieux de rester plus longtemps à Montréal ou Ottawa.
Je voyage en solo, dors dans des auberges de jeunesse pour rencontrer du monde.

Perso je dirais qu"il faut rester plus longtemps à Montréal qu'Ottawa. A Ottawa il faut aller voir le musée de la Civilisation, le musée des Beaux Arts du Canada (à condition d'aimer les Beaux Arts lol) et évidemment la Colline Parlementaire! De toutes façons je suis certain que des idées de visite d'Ottawa vont suivre ce post!!
Pour Montréal il y a pas mal de choses à voir (évidemment habitant à Montréal je ne suis pas objectif!!)

Si vous passez une semaine a Quebec du 6 au 13 fevrier, vous allez tomber sur le Carnaval du Quebec et plus tard a Montreal il y aura le festival Montreal en lumiere du 21 fevrier au 2 mars 2008. Le festival Montreal en Lumiere est comandite par Air France que vous devrez prendre pour venir au Quebec Canada si vous voulez aller au festival Montreal en lumiere. Ce que je vous suggere c'est de prendre Air France jusqu'ua Montreal et ensuite continuer avec Orleans express jusqu'ua Quebec centre ville a partir de Montreal Trudeau et par la suite le matin du 21 fevrier reprendre Orleans express pour Montreal centre ville et aller au festival Montreal en Lumiere le soir meme et le 26 fevrier reprendre un vol d'Air France pour Paris. Parce-que presentement Air Transat a cloue au sol 10 Airbus a 310-300 et avec ce transporteur vous avez peu de chances de partir.

Désolé de te contredire dans tes infos mais le Festival Montréal en lumières n'est pas annulé...! Par contre, c''est la fête de la Neige qui est annulée. De plus, il reste encore de la neige à Montréal...on dirais que SASKJA semble avoir une dent contre Montréal ..lol lol lol ha le chauvnisme !!!! Bref, il fait beau à Montréal et il y a de le neige.
Montréal et Qc sont 2 magnifiques villes ont il est possible de passer de très bons moment. Cependant, le froid peut venir contrecarrer certaines facettes d'une visite qui peut être fort agréable.
Le 400e anniversaire de Qc n'aura pas une grande portée internationale dû à l'absence de personnages importants mais il est toujours bon d, y aller quand même !

Bonjour Ange & Jay, je suis une citoyenne de Québec et le meilleur conseil que je puisse vous donnez c'est de vous apporter des vêtements super chaud car ici en février à moins de changement de température il fait très froid. En plus si je ne me trompe pas vous serez ici durant le Carnaval de Québec où il y a plein d'activités extérieures intéressantes.

ma mere part egalement au Canada du 11 au 20 fevrier avec Air Canada, elle atterirat a Montreal Trudeau. Les vols ont l'air d'etre a l'heure en ce moment donc je suis plutot rassuree pour elle. Il y a souvent des risques d'annulation de vols a cette periode de l'annee ?

Noooooon!!! Je n'ai pas de dent contre Montréal. Pour l'annulation de festival, c'est mon erreur: j'ai entendu l'annonce de l'annulation à la radio 2 fois, supposément à cause de la menace de moyens de pression de la part des cols bleus. J'ai confondu Montréal en lumière et la Fête des neiges. Je me repens dans la poussière :) (et je vais illico corriger la même information erronée que j'ai inscrite sur un autre forum)
Par contre, la dernière fois où je suis allée à Montréal, le 11 février dernier, j'ai traversé l'île jusqu'à Pointe St-Charles (dans l'ouest) sous une pluie diluvienne, et je n'ai vu aucune neige. Ni sur l'île, ni à l'est jusqu'après Drummondville.

À moins d'un sérieux (et imprévisible, surtout si longtemps à l'avance!) blizzard qui occasionnerait un délai pour l'atterrissage ou le décollage, il n'y a pas, à ma connaissance, de problèmes avec l'annulation de vols en février.

En tout cas, je suis surpris de l'apprendre de ta part car je constate qu'il y a encore de la neige....as-tu bien regardé partout ? hi hi hi hi...Si tu reviens ce week-end, tu sera émerveillée de voir le magnifique tapis blanc partout dans la belle ville de Montréal.
En ce qui me concerne, j'ai bien hâte de quitter le Qc pour le Mexique ....j'espère que vous n'aurez pas trop froid....hey que c'est pas drôle l'hiver...

I’ve planned a three-week itinerary for this summer, from August 9 to 27, in Sri Lanka:
Negombo – 1 night
Sigiriya and the Cultural Triangle – 4 nights
Kandy – 2 nights
Ella – 3 nights
Tangalle – 6 nights
Colombo Airport – 1 night
I know this isn’t the ideal time for the south since the beach conditions aren’t great, but we’ve booked a hotel with a pool and won’t be swimming in the sea. We want to relax after all the travel since we’re bringing our two kids, aged 6 and 8.
I know the east would be better, but (i) I’m struggling to find suitable accommodation, and (ii) it adds a lot of travel time, and my kids can only handle about 3 hours at a stretch.
I looked into Arugam Bay, but it’s a 7-hour trip back to Colombo from there.
I’ve checked every weather site imaginable, but they don’t all agree. Do you think we’ll spend our whole trip in the rain, or is the monsoon in the south mostly limited to the sea, as I’ve read?
I’m worried about ending up in the middle of a natural disaster with my two young kids, given recent events.

But after checking various weather sites and reading accounts, I’m a bit worried about rain, which can apparently be frequent and heavy in February. I’d love to hear from travelers or locals who’ve been there recently.
What would be the ideal month to explore Oman without extreme heat or rain? November?
Also, it’s best to avoid visiting the wadis on weekends—does that mean Saturday and Sunday?
This year, 2026, I can only get away in April and May. I never travel during these months usually, and from what I know, they aren’t the best for India. But in such a big country, there are always spots that are better than others weather-wise.
Which region would you recommend?

I’ve looked into a few different options: Brazil, Cambodia, and Ecuador. The last one really appeals to me, but what’s making me hesitate is the risk of our trip being a bit too rainy (literally ),
We’re more drawn to the Andes, exploring colonial cities, typical villages, markets, and a bit of the coast. We’ve already gotten a taste of this in Bolivia, Colombia, and Chile. Plus, we’d love to do part of it by car since we’re used to driving at our own pace and stopping whenever we feel like it. Anyway, time’s running out, and I need to decide so I can finalize a route and book the tickets!!

I’ve planned a trip to Asia for the first half of November.
I’ll arrive in Singapore at the start of November for about 3 days, and I’ll leave from Bangkok in mid-November.
In between, I’d like to gradually head north to visit some less touristy islands on the Thai coast.
Since the weather is a big risk during this period, I’d love to hear your recommendations.

Just giving you the quick context: A group of friends and I are planning a trip to South Korea (Seoul/Busan) at the end of June/July next year. It falls right in the middle of the monsoon season, but we don’t really have other availability options.😕
I’d love to hear from people who’ve visited the country and these cities during this period—basically, is it not as bad as it sounds, or should we just cancel our tickets (we don’t mind the heat, it’s mostly the rain that scares us).
I know there are plenty of indoor activities, but do you think we’ll still manage to get a few sunny days, or will it be torrential rain for our entire 2-week trip?
The only other country we’ve visited during the rainy season is Brazil (in the northeast) around the same time, and honestly, aside from a few really annoying downpours, we had sunshine most of the time and it was awesome. That said, the climate is totally different, so I’m not sure how relevant the comparison is.

Not sure if guidebooks, agencies, and other tour operators are keeping up by changing their visiting hours and offerings.
Personally, I see a promising opportunity here—jumping on this adaptation to extreme climates before others do, since they’re inevitably coming.
From my own travel experience, I’ve met a few guides so far who are starting to adjust, like in Egypt, Kenya, Senegal, and elsewhere.
They avoid crowds and the hottest hours by starting their tours around 6–7 AM, when it’s cooler.
Yeah, you’ve gotta wake up early, but the payoff is so worth it. 😴
If you’ve got any great tips like this, why not discuss them in this thread and share addresses or websites where the people in charge have realized climate change is real and are adapting? 😊
