Premièrement, on a signé avec Vacance Signature, donc on a volé avec Skyservice. Nous avons eu un très bon service et très efficace. Arrivé à Cuba, tout s'est passé à l'aéroport, en un rien de temps nous étions dans le bus en direction de CSM.
Le trajet en bus est un peu long, environ 1h30, mais il y a tant de belles choses à voir que ça passe vite. A l'arrivée, nous avons eu droit à un accueil chaleureux, et le check in s'est fait assez rapidement.
Le Sol est un site avec beaucoup de végétations, c'est magnifique. certains disent qu'il faut marcher beaucoup pour se rendre aux chambres, moi je dis qu'on ne peut se tanner de marcher dans un si bel endroit. Les chambres sont séparés dans de petits bungalows de 4 ch chacun, et sont très bien entretenus. Les 3 restos à la carte, Los Flamencos (pas besoin de reserver le midi), Los Cocos, La Fontanella (le meilleur), sont vraiment biens. Il y a un p'tit snack à la plage, La Picùa qui est intéressant, mais pour du rapide. Certains diront qu'il manque de choix au buffet, nous on a toujours trouvé, car la nourriture était bonne en général et surtout le poisson.
Pour ce qui est de l'animation, il y a moyen de rester relaxe, comme c'est possible de bouger beaucoup.
On a fait trois excursions, la Forest Adventure qui serait bien s'il n'avait pas tant de bus à faire pour s'y rendre...min 2h30 aller et retour, la visite de Santa Clara et Remedios, qui a été très enrichissante et finalement le catamaran qui a été une vraie réussite, car on fait 2 plongées (en apnée), on est arrêté se baigner un peu et on a mangé de la mmmm!! langouste.
Pour ceux qui ne veulent pas se payer d'excursion mais qui sont intéressés à faire de la plongée en apnée, vous n'avez qu'à prendre le matériel pour en faire (masque, tuba, palme) aux activités à la plage, prenez un taxi à la réception, et prenez à droite à la sortie de l'hotel et roulez environ 5 min, ou jusqu'au chemin de terre. Il y a un super bon "spot" pour y faire de la plongée en apnée, et ça ne vous coûte que le taxi (entre 5 et 10 pesos). Amenez-vous du pain, les poissons se rassemblent autour de vous.
Le service à l'hôtel a été impeccable, professionnel et chaleureux. Les cubains sont des gens attachants.
Et pour finir en beauté, la plage et la mer sont vraiment magnifiques!! On peut prendre de grandes marches, et la mer est chaude.
C'est un endroit où je retournerais sans hésiter!!
Deux conseils important: le chasse-moustique peut s'avérer très pertinent, surtout pour les joueurs de tennis, et échangez votre argent à l'aéroport si possible, car le taux est meilleur qu'à l'hotel.

bouffe froide ou tiede, moisi sur le pain, pas de fruit sauf quelque banane et orange, plage section naturiste tres sale dalgue et de poubelle au alentour, bibitte au resto italien que je nommerai pas le nom de la chose.
Jai eu du poulet mangable 1 fois sur 2 semaine le reste il en avait pas ou bien c'était des cuisse tres tres maigre, le buffet repetitif.
il y avait une piscine qui était pas belle a regarder, cest drole il y avait pas personne dedans non plus.
Au mois javais la chose la plus merveilleuse avec moi; ma femme 😛

Peut-être qu'il y a deux Sol alors! car moi j'ai eu du beau temps pratiquement tout le long de mon voyage, sauf peut-être 3 jrs où c'était effectivement plus venteux et plus nuageux.
Je n'ai vu aucune bibitte ni à l'italien, ni dans un autre resto.
J'ai mangé des ananas, des bananes, des oranges, de la papaye et j'en passe. Ma bouffe était chaude et jamais de moisi sur le pain. Il n'était pas frais du jour, mais très acceptable.
Il y avait du porc, du boeuf, du poisson, des crevettes et un cuisinier nous servait du poulet qu'il coutait en avant de nous.
La piscine n'était pas immense, mais belle à regarder, et super bien tempérée. D'ailleurs, on y a fait pleins de jeux tout au long des vacances et j'y ai eu bien du plaisir.
Il faut croire qu'il y a deux Sol à Cayo Santa Maria, ou bien...chez pas....😉

Jai eu du vent du 18 au 1 er fevrier sauf 3 jours.
la piscine donc je parle ce nes pas celle des activités
Jai passé mes deux semaine au bord de la mer= il vente plus qua la piscine des activité.
Chanceux si tu na pas vu de pain dorée moisi, moi je lai vu la 2e semaine 🤪 donc mangé avant.
Par des fruit FRAIS je parle davoir des pamplemousse qui ne goute pas comme un betterie carrer quon se met sur la langue et avoir du bon melon rouge comme on a toujours a cuba dans le buffet.
Le poulet, tu a été chanceux car on na presque pas eu, A CUBA cest rare.
La mer brouiller a cause du vent, je suis plongeur et une visibilité de 5 pied dans 5-10 pied deau pandent 2 semaines cest crissement plate.
Je suis content pour toi que tu es apprecier ton voyage, ca se peut que je nai pas été chanceux tout simplement.
Nous partons bientôt pour santa Maria mais nous avons choisi le Mélia Cayo Santa Maria parce qu'on voulait un 18 ans et plus étant donné qu'on part à la semaine de relâche sans nos enfants.
Mon conjoint adore la plongée...alors il serait bien intéressé à savoir le nom du site de plongé en apnée dont tu parles, s'il y en a un bien sûr!
Il n'y a pas de nom de site en particulier. C'est un endroit que nous avons trouvé en faisant une promenade de vélo, mais on ne le voyait pas de la route. Comme je disais, c'est lorsqu'il commence à ne plus vraiment avoir de pavée sur la route, environ à cette hauteur il y a un genre de récif où on peut y faire de n'apnée. Il n'y a pas d'hôtel à cette hauteur.
C'est un peu loin en vélo quand tu transportes du matériel, c'est pour ça que l'on a pris un taxi. On lui a demandé de rouler jusqu'à telle hauteur et de venir nous chercher 1 hr plus tard.
De notre hôtel, c'était à environ 5 min, alors ce sera un peu plus pour vous.

I wanted to share a great discovery in the Marakele area because, in the end, this park doesn’t get talked about much compared to Kruger, even though it’s really worth the detour.
We discovered Cypiro Leopard Lodge, right next to Marakele National Park in the Waterberg. It’s a small property with just a few villas and suites, so it’s nothing like the big, crowded lodges. What we loved most was the feeling of being truly at the end of the world—lots of space, silence, and almost no one around.
And yet, it’s only about 3 hours from Johannesburg. Once you leave Joburg, the road is pretty straightforward, and you quickly find yourself in a much wilder Africa.
Marakele National Park was a huge surprise for us. There are plenty of animals, the Big Five are present, but best of all, very few people. At times, we drove for quite a while without seeing another car. It’s such a change from parks where you sometimes end up with 15 cars around one animal.
The landscapes are also stunning, with the Waterberg mountains, plains, and beautiful views from some of the trails.
We also learned on-site that Marakele is known for its very large Cape vulture colony—around 800 breeding pairs. When you climb into the mountains and see them soaring above, it’s pretty impressive.
The entire Waterberg region is actually a UNESCO-recognized biosphere reserve, and you quickly understand why once you’re there.
As for Cypiro, it’s a lodge that was recently taken over by French owners—really nice and approachable. The place is quite exclusive since there are very few accommodations. The villas and suites each have their own private pool, a wood-fired hot bath (like a KolKol), a braai, and an outdoor fireplace.
Evenings are especially lovely, especially with the peace and quiet all around.
Another thing we found really convenient: you can organize your stay however you like.
You can come self-catering and cook for yourself. There’s a supermarket in the nearby small town, practically on the way in, so you can do your shopping before arriving without making a big detour.
Or you can ask them to organize everything with breakfasts, lunches, and dinners. Their chef, Ernest, cooks really well, and it lets you completely unwind for a few days.
We liked being able to alternate: some quiet meals on our own and others prepared for us.
That’s actually one of the things we appreciated here—it’s not an ultra-formal lodge where everything is scheduled at fixed times. You can head out early to Marakele, come back for lunch, enjoy the pool, go back out in the late afternoon, then have a braai or a relaxed dinner in the evening.
In terms of price, we also found the value for money really good for this level of accommodation and especially for the very private feel of the place. Sometimes it feels like you’re in a much more expensive lodge.
If you’re looking for lots of activity and dozens of people around you, this probably isn’t the right spot.
But for peace, wildlife, nature, wide-open spaces, and that feeling of being a little alone in the world, we absolutely loved it.

And if anyone knows Marakele or the Waterberg well, I’d love to hear about other spots to discover in the area.
While digging through the archives 🔍, we discovered a 19th-century journal 📜 bearing the name: "Le Petit Baigneur, weekly journal of beaches, spa towns, and thermal resorts in the South of France", published as early as 1886. Its motto? "All for the baths and by the baths" 🏖️ — what a program!
We found the name so amusing that we chose it to rename our hotel: Hôtel Le Petit Baigneur!
140 years later, we’re carrying on this seaside tradition of the South of France in our own way 🏊♂️ — with a few fewer crinolines, but just as much love for the seaside. 😊

I found a hotel, the Kappa Club Crystal Bay Resort, and online reviews for this hotel recommend a guide named Omar. I contacted him via WhatsApp, and he's offering a 2-day, 1-night safari in Tsavo East, a "blue safari," and a Marafa Canyon day trip for 400 € per person.
I’m asking for help from people who’ve already done these excursions because I have no idea what these offers entail.

4. Hotel for relaxing (no "factory hotels")

6. A nice hotel (3 or 4 stars) but no need for an ultra-palace

We’ll be in Venice from March 20th to 24th, and I’m looking (for two couples) for a hotel close to St. Mark’s Square—my husband can’t walk long distances. For four nights with breakfast, our budget is around 1,400 € per couple. To avoid too much walking for him, I’d also prefer a hotel where we could potentially eat dinner in the evenings.

The second is the NWR (Namibia Wildlife Resorts) site: https://www.nwr.com.na, where you *can* pay online.
Is the latter one reliable?

Bonjour nous arriverons dimanche 5 mai ( à partir de 16h25) à l'aéroport de Punta Cana pour profiter d'un séjour que mon amie à gagner à l’hôtel Gran Bahia Principe La Romana.
L'avion est offert par la compagnie aérienne, l'hôtel je pense par la chaine hôtelière, mais aujourd'hui je m’inquiète du transfert car aucune info et j'apprends que rien n'est prévu.
D’après ce que j'ai vu le dernier car expreso part de Punta Cana à 16h00
Y-a t'il d'autres moyens de transports collectif (guagua) qui puisse faire le trajet ou au moins nous avancer jusqu'à La Romana ou San Pedro de Marcoris et je pense qu'on finira le trajet en taxi.
Si c'est trop compliqué ça sera navette privée mais on est plus "lonely planet " que navette privée et hôtel tout inclus.
