Nous partons dimanche pour un séjour au brésil avec notre petit de 5 mois et comme point de départ la ville de Natal. Nous avons appris que le pays traverssait sa pire épidémie de dengue. IL semble que le pic se situe à Rio mais que l'épidémie se répand vers les états du Nordest. Quelqu'un pourrait-il nous dire ce qu'il en est sur place au niveau du nordeste mais également du sud du brésil.

j'habite la guyane depuis longtemps et j'ai attrapé quatre fois la dengue et je suis toujours vivant. Je vais régulièrement au brésil, je viens d'y passer deux mois du côté de Rio. C'est vrai qu'il y a une épidémie de dengue surtout sur rio. Alors pas de panique. Ce qui compte c'est la prévention : moustiquaire sur le lit du bébé, utilisation de repellents ( VOIR AVEC UN PHARMACIEN UN PRODUIT POUR LE BEBE ET UN PRODUIT POUR LES ADULTES), vétements légers mais couvrant pour laisser le moins de surface corporelles aux moustiques, bombes anti moustiques dans les piéces où on séjournent surtout la chambre (une fois bombée, ne plus ouvrir les fenetres) et emmener un thermomètre électronique auriculaire. Je vais pas trop rentrer dans les détails (j'ai une formation de soins en médecine tropicale) mais la malchance d'attraper une dengue est minime du fait qu'en vacance on bouge beaucoup, sauf la nuit, et que le moustique de la dengue vit à proximité des maisons et ne se déplace que très peu.
Si c'était le cas les symptomes sont: fiévres +++, maux de tete +++, courbatures +++, nausées +++, fatigue +++
Donc traitement symptomatique des signes cliniques. et surveillance de la formule sanguine (car le dengue provoque un chute des plaquettes). Mais bon, les brésiliens sont au top en matiére de santé et vous pouvez avoir toute confiance en eux. Allez, bon voyage..........
et bien will, un grand merci pour tes infos, celà semble en effet fort rassurant... Nous avons déjà prévu pas mal de précautions, mousticaires, repellent, etc donc ça devrai aller
juste une derniére chose importante n'emmenez pas d'aspirine ou de dérivés au brésil car c'est produits potentialisent gravement les risques hémorragiques de la dengue, du palu, etc... merci pour la réponse

il est peut-être un peu tard pour vous répondre. Mais ici à Natal il y a une épidémie de dengue depuis au moins un mois. Le gouvernement ne l'a pas annoncé encore mais les hopitaux sont bondé d'enfants avec les symptômes de la dengues et la dengues elle-même.
Vaut mieux dormir avec un filet ou bien mettre du protecteur de moustique qui contient du DEET. Ou bien braquer le ventillateur sur le bébé pour éloigner les moustiques. Ce moustique est actif de 5h00 à 7h00 le matin et de durant 2 heures à la tombé de la nuit.
Vaut mieux se loger dans les hotels de plus de 5 étages parce que le moustique ne monte pas aussi haut.
Bonjour damyot et merci pour ton info mais effectivement nous venons de passés une semaine à Natal (dommage on aurait pu se voir) et sommes actuellement à Joao Pessoa, notre but étant d'arrivé à Salvador de Bahia.. Nous avons effectivement fait le point via les journaux et les contacts ici et c sur que la situaiton n'est pas follement rasssurante mais bon nous prenons le maximum de précautions moustiquaires, répelliant, etc...
c'est dommage que l'on ne se soit pas rencontrer. De toute façon mon fils est malade j'aurais pas pu vous faire visiter. Je crois qu'il a attrappé la dengue justement ..... We're about to go on an organized trip to South Africa, including Kruger Park. We were told that Malarone should preferably be taken in the evening at the same time during a meal. But it's hard to know what time we'll have dinner, especially since I've read that in South Africa, dinner is usually around 6 PM.
I'd love to hear from people who've been on organized trips to this destination and could share their experience. We were thinking of taking Malarone around 7:30 PM, assuming dinner would be closer to 7 PM than 6 PM. Also, if the meal ends up being earlier or later than when we take the pill, would a cookie or a piece of bread be enough to take with Malarone?
I’m planning to set off on a "round-the-world" trip/long journey at the start of next year, lasting between 4.5 and 6 months. For now, the itinerary looks like this: South Korea (2 weeks) -> Japan (1 month) -> New Zealand (1 month) -> Argentina (1 month) -> United States (1 month).
I’m on medication (paroxetine 20 mg/day) and was hoping to bring enough for the entire trip so I wouldn’t have to find a doctor on the spot, deal with a molecule that might be slightly different from what’s available in France, or wonder if that’s even a possibility. But after looking into the regulations for each country, it’s suddenly way less simple . Many seem to only allow the amount corresponding to the length of your "stay" in the country... Which is a problem if I arrive in Korea with 4.5 months’ worth of medication, for example.

Generally, I understand it’s possible to travel with approved medications (which should be my case), but often with a limit of 3 months’ worth of treatment.
Since I’m going for 12 months, that means for three-quarters of my trip, I’d have more than 3 months’ worth of medication.
