Pour présenter mon projet, je souhaiterai partir travailler aux USA. L'idée de ce projet me tente depuis 1 an et depuis peu je me suis décidé à commencer les démarches.
Je me suis renseigné sur les visas et j'ai ciblé 2 visas : soit le visa H1B ( mais je n'y crois pas ) soit le visa J1.
Je me suis renseigné aussi sur les sponsors et les coûts que cela entraînerai.
J'arrive maintenant à l'étape la plus complexe à mon gout, trouver une entreprise qui accepterai les démarches. Je recherche maintenant depuis un bon mois et je n'ai quasiment pas eu de retour ou alors des retours négatifs. Je me demande donc si je m'y prends bien.
Tout d'abord, voici mon parcours professionnel rapidement :
J'ai une licence pro en informatique décisionnelle et statistique et j'ai en expériences professionnelles :
- Concepteur de base de données (6 mois)
- Data analyste (1 an )
- Ingénieur d'étude et de développement (18 mois et toujours en poste)
J'ai postulé à plusieurs offres sur Monster mais je n'ai pas eu spécialement de retour, de plus il est compliqué de relancer car il n'y a pas d'adresse mail en général d'indiqué. Je suis aussi passé par linkedin. En général, ils me reconduisent vers le site de l'entreprise et la encore pas d'adresse mail une fois que la candidature est faite :( .
J'ai vu qu'il était conseillé aussi de faire appelle à son réseau mais cependant, je ne connais personne qui a un pied sur le marché américain donc compliqué et je ne vois pas trop comment me créer un réseau la-bas :-/
J'ai donc 3-4 questions :
- Pour postuler, dois-je partir du principe que je postule à un job ou à un stage? et si je pars du principe que je postule à job, dois-je mentionner le visa J1 dans ma "lettre/mail de motivation"?
- Avez-vous des sites à me conseiller pour postuler à des jobs? (j'ai aussi essayé indeed mais je ne suis pas fan)
- Voyez-vous d'autres façon de rechercher un job à l'étranger?
- Auriez-vous une idée de comment je pourrais me faire un réseau aux USA?
De plus, si vous avez quelques conseils quel qu’ils soient, n'hésitez pas à m'en faire part ;-)

Un stage, sans hésitation, mais vous devez être étudiant.
Pour avoir un job au USA il faut idéalement avoir un Bac+5 (d'autant que la licence aux USA? c'est quatre ans, donc vous serez considéré comme sous-diplômé). Surtout en informatique, un Bac+3, c'est léger. En effet, l'employeur doit prouver aux autorités que vous ne pouvez pas faire le job d'un américain ou d'un résident. Et votre profil, des centaines de milliers de personnes déjà sur place et autorisées à travailler le possède... D'où l'absence de réponse...
Je ne parle même pas du bon niveau d'anglais qu'il faut avoir. Même pour le Canada, une Licence pro risque d'être un peu juste. Je vous conseille de regarder vers l'Europe où on n'a pas besoin de visa de travail. Mais pour un stage, dans tous les cas, il faut étudiant ou être sorti des études depuis moins d'une année universitaire.

Pour le visa stagiaire, vous parlez uniquement du visa J1 intern. En effet pour celui là, il faut être étudiant ou diplomé depuis moins d'un an. Moi, je m'intéresse au visa J1 Trainee, où il faut être diplômé depuis plus d'un an, avoir au moins 1 ans d'expérience et avoir moins de 38 ans.
Par contre, je ne savais pas que l'informatique décisionnelle était bouché aux USA. En France, c'est les entreprises qui m'appellent depuis que mon CV est sur Monster :-( Ca rajoute un peu de challenge :-P . Cependant, vos propos sur le canada sont étrange sachant que j'y ai envoyé une petite dizaine de CV et qu'1 entreprise m'a répondu positivement. Bon quand je leur ai dis que j'étais dispo que dans 3 mois ça les a un peu refroidit par contre lol
Pour le visa de travail, je suis d'accord avec vous, c'est pour ça que j'avais précisé entre parenthèse que je n'y croyais pas en ce visa ;-)
Sinon, j'ai peut-être mal posé ma question, je ne demandais pas avec quel visa partir (je me suis déjà bien renseigné dessus en 1 an :-) ). Je voulais plus savoir si dans ma candidature je postulais en mettant que je recherche un job (en precisant dans la "lettre de motivation" que je suis éligible au visa stagiaire) ou si je postulais en mettant directement que je recherche un stage.
Cependant, j'ai peur que si je met que je recherche un stage ça m'enlève de certaines candidatures directement sans qu'ils s'intéressent à la suite.
Ah oui, le J1 Trainee, exact, désolée :) En fait, juste sur la base d'une licence pro en informatique, c'est en effet très compliqué d'obtenir un visa de travail. Après, les spécialités au sein de l'informatique, c'est tellement compliqué et tordu que bon, lol!!!
Mettez que vous êtes disponible pour les deux. Emploi et trainee, comme ça on maximise les chances, même si doute pour un sponsoring avec une Licence Pro. Pour l'informatique, contactez les entreprises de la Silicon Valley aussi, y en a plein :)
Ne vous en faites pas, je me suis bien renseigné avant sur les visas donc c'est bon ;-) Ensuite, c'est vrai que l'informatique est spécial car au sein de l'informatique, il y a plusieurs "groupes".

En simplifiant, l'informatique décisionnelle ou BI, c'est l'informatique dans le traitement de données et le stockage des données. Il est très facile de trouver un boulot en France dans ce secteur (même sans aller à Paris). Pour exemple, j'ai été 2 fois en recherche d'emploi et les 2 fois j'ai trouvé un boulot en moins d'un mois (j'avais en plus le choix entre plusieurs jobs).
Merci, pour le conseil. Jusqu'à maintenant, je postulais aux offres en mettant que je recherche un stage. C'est peut-être ça qui les gênait car je ne suis plus en études. Je pense que je vais postulé en disant que je recherche un job mais en précisant que je suis éligible pour le visa J1. Cela vous semble-t'il une bonne idée? Cela apportera peut-être moins de confusion sur ma situation et ce que je recherche non?
Personne n'a d'autres conseils pour la recherche d'emploi?
Sinon j'aurais une question supplémentaire, que je rencontre en postulant à des offres d'emplois. on me demande souvent de remplir un dossier de candidature et la question suivante revient souvent : est-ce que j'ai besoin d'un "sponsorship"?
Il me semble que dans le cas du visa J1, c'est l'organisme (tel que parenthèse par exemple) qui fait office de sponsor et pas l'entreprise. Ma question est donc est-ce qu'on parle aussi de sponsorship pour un visa J1? le sponsorship est plus associé au H1B non?
J'ai remarqué que quand je répondais oui à cette question je recevais souvent directement un mail de refus par la suite 🙁
Tu peux préciser que tu as (auras) un organisme accrédité comme sponsor. Cette question vise à savoir si l'entreprise elle même doit sponsoriser le candidat. Ce n'est pas le cas avec le J-1.

Non malheureusement, je n'ai pas réussi à partir encore 😕
On me demande souvent d'avoir plus d'expérience. j'y suis presque arrivé, il y a un mois mais malheureusement au final je n'ai pas été pris. On était plus que 2 candidats et ils ont décidé de prendre l'autre candidat 😕
Je commence à avoir quelques contacts donc la recherche commence à devenir plus simple mais ce n'est pas encore fait. Il y a notamment 2 entreprises avec qui j'ai bien échangé qui m'ont dit de revenir quand je serai plus proche des 5 ans d'expériences.
Je continue toujours à chercher et ayant un CDI en France, je ne suis pas non plus dans l'urgence. De plus, j'ai de plus en plus d'entretien donc je sens que je commence à me rapprocher du but 😛
Pour ma part, je pense prendre le sponsor parenthèse car ceux sont eux qui m'ont apporté le plus de conseil.
Sinon pour le visa H1B, j'ai un peu laissé tomber car il est très compliqué à avoir. Je préfère viser le visa J1 quitte à essayer d'avoir le visa H1B après.

After living for many years in the West (Belgium, Italy, Switzerland),
I’ve decided to return and settle in Cameroon, my home country.
Currently an entrepreneur in real estate and transport, I’m looking for a partner / partners / foundation to collaborate on an agriculture project, as I own 10 hectares of land.
