Je m'explique, je pars du 6 Janvier au 4 Avril à New York (j'ai mon billet aller-retour, cela fait pile un peu moins de 30 jours) pour un stage que je n'ai pas encore trouvé (oui oui, je sais il se fait tard! 😕). Je suis en train de faire une demande d'autorisation ESTA pour mon autorisation de voyage sur internet.
Cette autorisation ESTA remplace-t-elle mon visa touristique? Est-ce que cela veut dire aussi que je ne pourrais pas avoir de petit job là bas?
Le problème est que les entreprises que j'ai contacté pour mon stage ne peuvent pas me prendre sans le visa J-1 🙁 mais sachant que je pars dans 10 jours, je crois que je n'ai plus le temps de faire une demande pour ce visa (j'ai décidé de partir assez tard...!)
Savez vous s'il est possible de m'en procurer un d'ici 10 jours? Est-ce que je peux faire la demande, partir à New York sans, et attendre là-bas, qu'on me le délivre? 🤪

Non, ESTA c'est juste un formulaire électronique et rien d'autre, que tu remplis quand tu prends l'avion. Ça ne remplace aucun visa.

Si tu vas là bas sans visa, c'est à dire sous le programme d'exemption de visa (pour qui le ESTA est nécessaire dans ce cas, si je ne me trompe pas) tu peux y aller seulement comme touriste, tu n'as pas le droit de travailler, que tu sois rémunérée ou non. Même un stage n'est pas permis.
Le problème est que les entreprises que j'ai contacté pour mon stage ne peuvent pas me prendre sans le visa J-1
🤪 Elles ne peuvent pas ou ne veulent pas? Pour avoir droit au visa, il faut que l'entreprise soit intéressée à te prendre comme stagiaire, c'est un préalable!

Ça me semble très serré, puisque tu dois commencer par prendre rendez-vous à l'ambassade...et que pour faire une demande de visa J-1 tu dois avoir déjà trouvé l'entreprise en question!

Un visa se demande uniquement dans une ambassade ou un consulat, donc à l'extérieur du pays en question, et doit être validé à la frontière.

Possible mais tu ne seras pas en règle avec l'immigration, ce qui comporte des risques...
C'est bizarre car tu sembles avoir ce projet depuis longtemps et tu n'as pas fait toutes les démarches requises avant de partir...

Bonjour, tu n'auras pas la possibilité d'avoir un visa en 10 jours en cette période de fète de surcroit. Tu peux partir en touriste avec formulaire ESTA,
et sur place tu pourras toujours essayer de trouver une boite qui te prendrait en stage. A partir de la tu reviens en France et tu fais une demande de visa en prenant ton temps et tu retournes aux US faire ton stage .

Tu veux partir dans le cadre du programme d’exemption de visa (VWP), donc pas de visa à demander mais l’ESTA à obtenir au moins 72 heures avant ton départ.
Dans le cas ou l’ESTA t’est refusée alors il te faut un visa.
D’autre part si tu avais un peut cherché sur le forum, tu aurais eu des réponses à la plupart de tes questions.
Mieux vaut être con et fermer sa gueule que de l'ouvrir pour le prouver.

If anyone knows the rates charged by movers for a crate to French Polynesia, or what pitfalls to avoid (I know you can get quotes directly from movers, but I’d love insights from actual customers😉).
