Voilà, je m'appelle Tara j'ai 18 ans et depuis toujours je rève de partir en Californie et je vais tout plaquer pour y arriver (quitter mon job, etc.) et je compte y aller pour avril 2011 et pour une durée d'environ 1 à 2 ans. Sachant que je n'ai fais encore aucune démarche administrative, penser-vous que je m'y prend trop tardivement ?
Je vis en suisse donc pas besoin de demander un visa touristique. J'ai quelqu'un chez qui loger donc pas de problème à ce niveau là et niveau budjet je suis ok également pour me payer une école mais a voir...
J'ai envie d'y rester pour étudier environ 3 mois puis, par la suite trouver un emploi car financièrement je ne tiendrai plus le coup. J'ai fais des études en banque mais un travail moins stressant me conviendrait mieux par exemple : barmaid... ne me poserai vraiment aucun problème. Puis-je trouver ce genre de job facilement et quels en sont les démarches ?
Je sais que l'administratif est très lourd au USA donc je suis très stressée à l'idée de ne pas pouvoir rester plus longtemps.

Tu auras besoin d'un visa pour étudier.
Et pour travailler aussi. En général les visas de travail sont attribués si une entreprise te parraine. En général c'est pour des emplois précis: ingénieur, infirmière, médecin, etc (la compagnie doit défendre pourquoi elle t'engage toi).
Je crois que tu devrais te renseigner encore un peu. Ça ne me semble pas très faisable selon la mention que tu fais dans un délai aussi court. À moins de travailler au noir, des petits boulots médiocres. Tu pourrais encore chercher un job comme fille au pair avant de partir.

Oui c'est chaud, je vais tenter le visa touristique avec une prolongation pour totaliser 6 mois. Et éviter de travailler =), pour 6 mois je suis O.K. niveau budget, merci pour la réponse.
Il faut que tu demandes auprès de l'ambassade US en Suisse un Visa touristique B2 qui te permet de séjourner aux USA, 6 mois avec possibilité de prolonger de 6 mois (demande à faire sur place et avant délai d'expiration de ton visa B2)
Tu as de la famille en Californie et budget :Ok.. en principe, tu pars sur deux bonnes bases pour que ton visa B2 soit accepté.
Aux USA, il est interdit de travailler "au noir" risque de dénonciation donc: expulsion et retour en Suisse.. et impossibilité de retour aux USA, de plus l'employeur risque de gros ennuis.

Bonjour Tara , pour rester en tant que touriste ca ne posera pas de problème , quoi que le visa 6 mois est moins facile à obtenir maintenant .
Maintenant pour y rester 1 an ou 2 , sans visa c'est quasi impossible , tu parles de travailler au noir , ce n'est pas la "meilleure solution" bien au contraire , les américains sont très durs à ce niveau là , si tu te fais attrapper tu passera un très mauvais quart d'heure , un pote a moi a été mis en prison pendant quelques jours , interogatoire pendant des heures et exclus des USA , il ne pourra jamais bosser légalement là bas et il est interdit d'y retourner pendant 7 ans . Il a eu la trouille de sa vie .
La crise aux Usa est-elle que les dénonciations sont nombreuses , tu viens illégalement , tu "piques" le boulot des américains en gros .
Et surtout le gros bémol de bosser illégalement aux Usa , c'est que tu n'aura pas d'assurance maladie , et ça c'est la cata ...
Ex : un ami ( et oui encore ) avait mal a la gorge , pas d'assurance maladie , il est aller voir un docteur , ça lui a coûté la bagatelle de 200 $ , Imagine tu te pête un bras , comment tu fait ????
Je ne doute pas de ton envie d'aller dans ce pays , qui est génial , mais vu ton jeune âge ça va être dur , soit tu essai un visa étudiant soit , un visa en tant que stagiaire rémunéré , vu que tu n'a pas 5 ans d'experience dans un domaine précis , c'est quasi-mort .

Pour le billet de retour: je ne sais pas. Par contre, c'est certain que tu vas devoir prouver tes liens de famille et surtout donner l'adresse, et surtout que tu peux supporter financièrement ton séjour aux states sans travailler.
