je souhaite vivement partir aux US pour mes études. j'ai demandé une brochure de Calvin Thomas et à EF, j'aimerai savoir si quelqu'un est déjà parti avec l'un des eux et donc connaître les avantages et les inconviénients (tel qu'ils sont réellement), sachant que mon anglais est, comment dire, nul (pour être polie ^^). J'aimerai connaître vos expériences, les conditions (hébergement sur place, loyer, le temps qu'il faut pour monter un dossier (visa, ...). Je vous remercie pour votre attention et vos réponses.
je suis dans la même situation que toi et je vais partir avec calvin thomas en janvier 2010. Il y a deja des topic a ce sujet, va voir le top "partir etudier aux usa avec calin thomas campus B, il y a pas mal de renseignements dessus. demande déja la brochure campusB sur le site de calvin thomas.
Je suis partie l'année derniere avec EF 1 mois a Los angeles, c'est assez cher et les cours sont nuls, donc je te le déconseille sauf pour un sejour découverte de courte duree.

j'ai une source qui est actuellement aux Etats-unis avec campus B et pour qui tout se passe très bien! tout est conforme aux brochures! La plupart des mauvais avis sur calvin thomas que j'ai vu concerne le programme job aux USA avec workin USA, je n'ai pas encore vu de plaintes sur le cursus campus B..
de plus, il faut savoir que il est fréquent que les avis soient mitigés, c'est impossible de satisfaire tout le monde. Je suis curieux de connaitre les raisons de mécontentement...
Pour moi, tant que l'organisme me permet d'avoir mon visa rapidement et que j'ai ma bourse comme convenu. Il faut pas s'attendre a etre assisté non plus... eux ils t'aident a faire les démarches pour obtenir ton visa et après c'est a toi de jouer!
Bonjour - je suis partie a san diego apres mon bac et rentree en juin dernier, apres une annee scolaire complete. Mon niveau etait moyen au depart mais sur place j'ai fait 4 mois de cours intensif avant le toefl, puis des cours de business avec des americains sur le campus. Pendant tout le temps je logeais en residence a san diego, dur au debut mais super par la suite quand on commence a rencontrer des gens. Les cours m'aident bien pour mes etudes actuelles et en anglais, my level is very good !

Pour le toefl ça va car le score demandé était 450, pas trop haut.
J'avais hésité entre ça et la high school, mais la high school est vraiment un moins bon programme, tu ne sais pas à l'avance où tu vas atterir et le niveau des écoles est assez bas, on perd un peu son temps. J'ai fait 4 mois d'angalis intensif puis un semestre à grossmont college, près de san diego. Mon niveau était moyen au départ mais maintenant je me considère comme bonne bilingue, je comprends quasi tout à la TV par exemple.
ah d'accord, et ces 4 mois d'anglais intensif, ils sont abordables pour quelqu'un qui à du mal? et ton semestre passé il t'a donné quoi en terme de diplome? tu es rentrée en france? tu comptes continuer à étudier là-bas?

En fait c'était une formule qui prévoyait 4 mois d'anglais puis le semestre, et en effet les cours d'anglais étaient bien et vraiment utiles, on était 7 ou 8 dans la classe, c'est autre chose qu'au lycée, et les profs super dynamiques etc, rien à dire. Coté budget c'était environ 12000 poru l'année et ça comprenait les cours d'anglais pour les 16 semaines, les cours universitaires pendant le semestre et le logement dans un studio à san diego pour la durée totale, heureusement le cout de la vie la bas est assez bas, surtout pour manger et les courses. Le GSM est vachement cher par contre, tu paies aussi quand tu reçois les appels, un système archi compliqué. A la fin j'ai viré mon portable comme tu as de toute façon un tel (gratuit poru les converstaion locales) dans le studio, avec la TV etc, le portable me coutait trop cher. Bye bye portable, hello skype :-)
Après le semestre j'aurais pu (je pense) continuer la bas mais je suis rentrée en France comme prévu pour une licence bilingue où je suis maintenant. Pour un diplôme américain poru chaque semstre que tu passes tu reçois des crédits qui sont transférables, et c'est la somme des crédits qui fait que tu as ton diplôme, après 2 à 3 ans selon ton rythme. J'ai eu des crédits mais pas de diplôme, comme je suis pas réstée les 3 ans.

salut, moi perso, je suis en alternance donc j'ai un salaire et je vis encore chez mes parents donc je peux economiser, je devrai avoir environ 12000euro avant de partir. J'aurai l'aide de mes parents ainsi que quelques mois de travail en interim aussi en apport.
Mais le plus classique c'est de prendre un pret etudiant, les tx sont avantageux, a ta sortie du campus tu trouve vite un bon boulot, le remboursement se fait sans trop de probleme, c'est tout a fait rentable il suffit de calculer.
merci d'avoir pris le temps de me répondre c'est vrai que un prêt pourrait m'aider à le financer mais je suis assez réticente par ce mode de financement en tout cas j'ai très envie d'y aller et je pense que je le ferais.

en fait je me renseigne en ce moment pour justement pouvoir partir le moins cher possible. J'ai fais diverses demandes dans divers organismes (PIE, EFSA, Calvin thomas...) et je vais me renseigner par rapport à mon université (mais c'est sur dossier et j'ai peur qu'il ne soit pas retenue d'où mes recherches).
Pour financer, je vais travailler tout mes étés jusqu'à ce que je parte, ne plus de faire diverses demandes de bourses. Mais avant tout, il faut que je trouve avec quel organisme.
Je sais pas si ma réponse te satisfait, mais j'espère que tu trouveras une solution..;

Moi aussi je me suis renseigner auprès d'organisme comme EF, Calvin Thomas... mais tous propose des prix trés onéreux et je n'ai pas les moyens. En tout cas mon projet est toujours d'actualité et je souhaite vraiment partir pour 2010 je sais ça fais loin, mais pou le moment jessaie de trouver des solutions pour le financer.

Je suis parti un an Avec YFU et je déconseille fortement ... dés que tu as un petit problème ( et tu en aura toujours ) L'organisme ne t'aide pas ... plutôt le contraire d'ailleurs (ils te mettent encore plus de problème ) et donc tu dois te débrouiller a chaque fois ...
A déconseiller !! ( ou alors si tu aime bien dépenser de l'argent tu peut ! )

Et moi le seul organisme qui correspond à ce que je cherche c'est ISPA,
pour moi ça serait le programme open university car je suis en bac+3 actuellement et je compte prépaper le BBA aux usa.
Après il faut essayer de survivre mais c'est déjà trop tard car tu as presque gâché ton séjour ! ! enfin voilà dès que tu as besoin d'eux (organisme ) ils sont pas la ... mais ils t'empêche (l'organisme ) de vivre quand ils ont un problème avec toi (et harcèle tes parents )
surement parti en statut Touriste mais je ne souhaite pas repartir avec un autre argent (déjà un pret pour partir avec YFU ... donc je suis assez pauvre)
ben écoute pour le programme open university qui comprend : 3 mois de cours de langue intensif à san francisco et préparation au toefl 3 mois en université
+ le logement pour les 6 mois (résidence et aprés sur le campus)
= 11 000€
et aprés moi je resterais pour obtenir le BBA (bachelor américain bac +4)
du coup faudra que je compte un peu plus.

et bien écoute, j'ai une tres bonne compréhension, prononciation, et de vocabulaire
en fait mon seul problème c'est la grammaire. C'est le seul point qui m'empêche d'avoir un bon niveau en anglais.
Et c'est pourquoi, je pense que je vais partir avec ISPA, car après avoir étudier toutes les offres des organismes.
Je trouve que c'est les seul, où j'ai le sentiment d'avoir le plus de chance possible d'obtenir mon toefl. Surtout que les cours de langues sont à niveau et après tu évolues.
Car si on prend l'offre campus B de calvin thomas, il t'aide pour l'obtention d'une bourse et dans les démarches
mais après on est un peu livré à nous même.
et le probleme c'est que sans toefl, on ne peut pas rentrée en université et moi je veux mettre toutes mes chances de mon coté.

After living for many years in the West (Belgium, Italy, Switzerland),
I’ve decided to return and settle in Cameroon, my home country.
Currently an entrepreneur in real estate and transport, I’m looking for a partner / partners / foundation to collaborate on an agriculture project, as I own 10 hectares of land.
The hectares have remained unused for years due to a lack of financial means, since the project requires what I’d call a considerable investment. As the main stakeholder, I have a minimal contribution to offer.

If anyone knows the rates charged by movers for a crate to French Polynesia, or what pitfalls to avoid (I know you can get quotes directly from movers, but I’d love insights from actual customers😉).
