Hi there! We're going on an MSC cruise and will be stopping in Genoa, Civitavecchia, Palermo, and Ibiza. Could anyone tell us how to do excursions on our own? Thanks for your help!

Hi there, In Genoa, the port is close to the city. When you exit the port, head right and follow the path marked on the ground—it’s about a 10/15-minute walk to get near the aquarium. There was a little tourist train for 10 € per adult. Palermo’s port is also in the city. As "Costa fans," we got the details for a taxi to visit Monreale, Monte Pellegrino, and Palermo itself for 50 € per person for about 5 hours. We were dropped off as close as possible to the sites. The minibus could fit 8 people, but there were only two French couples. I’ll send you the details in a private message. Happy cruising! Mum49

Hello, We’ve never been to Rome on our own because Civitavecchia port is far from Rome (about 40 km?) and we’re afraid of missing the boat... Plus, the last time we joined an organized group was back in 2013. Have a great weekend! mum49

Hi there, in Genoa you’re right in the city, in Civitavecchia there’s a free shuttle to get you out of the port and into town, Palermo is also in the city, and in Ibiza there’s a boat shuttle that takes you into town. Happy cruising!
