Herge realise de magnifiques exposés sur la bolivie en crise avec fotos choc a l´apuis! Mais Hargé est en Argentine les lousticks, hergé prends donc ce qu´on lui donne dans son bec sur le net ou ailleurs. Mefis toi l´ami des infos qui circulent sur le net !!! Je traverse en ce moment (depuis plus d´un mois) la Bolivie, certe il y a bien des problemes (et j´y suis attentif). Mais je peux AFFIRMER BIEN HAUT QUE LA BOLIVIE ET NOTAMMENT SES VILLES SONT BIEN BIEN BIEN LOIN DE NE PLUS ETRE APPROVISONNEES ET QUE LES TRANSPORTS, MALGRES QUELQUES ENCOMBREMENTS, SONT TOUT A FAIT UTILISABLE!!!
S´il te plait herge ne dramatise pas les choses, il y a des problemes en ce moment en bolivie (certains diront que c´est reguliers) et je peux t´assurer que les boliviens (qui adorent parler politique) n´en font pas tout un plat comme tu peux le faire sur ce tchat depuis 15 jours mon ami!!!
Une autre chose, je trouve tes fotos chocs particulierment deplacées notamamt celles sur cochabamba, ca donne une image totaleñemt biaisée de la realité de la situation. Ne va pas faire croire aux petits francais qui sont en bretagne ou a lyon que la bolivie s´enflamme alors que ce n´est qu´une milliemme crise !!!

salut, bien que je connaisse herge que je salue au passage, je suis entierement d'accord avec toi allezou, il a une facheuse tendance a noircir les tableaux et faire circuler les infos negatives au detriment des positives, ce que je n'arrive pas a m'expliquer malgre toutes les discussions que nous avons pu avoir. herge tu vois je ne suis pas le seul a le ressentir de la sorte.
Je ne savais pas que le procés de l'affaire Hergé était ouvert ... 😕
Sans vouloir prendre la défense de qui que se soit ... je pense que "les petits français vivant en France" sont capables de relativiser les informations transitant sur ce salon.
D'autre part, je pense que l'agressivité de certains ne sauvera pas la Bolivie, ni même l'Argentine d'une quelconque crise ... Il serait plus utile de donner une contre information ...
Pour finir nous sommes sur un site consacré aux voyages qui est souvent synonyme de vacances donc de calme, donc de bon esprit ...etc ...
Perso, je ne sais pas du tout si la Bolivie est en grande, petite, moyenne crise et je serai ravie d'en savoir un peu plus ... alors à vous qui avez la chance d'être outre atlantique et qui avez envie de nous tenir au courant de la situation de la Bolivie comme de tout autre pays ... merci de le faire dans la simplicité 😉
Allezou, n'oublie pas une chose... souvent, pour ne pas dire tout le temps, les pays voisins ont des informations on ne peut plus exageres. Donc nous sommes oblige d'aller sur le net pour avoir d'autres infos sur ce qui se passe sur notre continent. L'amerique du sud etant tres friande de l'exageration, la moindre crise devient un genocide et les genocides reste caches, voir son bani de l'histoire. les gouvernement aime a amplifie les crises des voisins pour faire passer celle de leur propre patrie comme n'etant pas si terrible. Et dans le pays meme, la verite et l'objectivite sont trop souvente absente.
Cela n'est pas pour prendre la defence ou faire le proces d'herge, mais un voyageur qui est la pour quelques mois verra la vie bien differement que celui qui y vit. Donc c'est tres interressant d'avoir different point de vue. comme c'est le cas sur ce forum.
De toutes facons le voyageur chevronné saura bien lire en tre les lignes et distingue jusqu'ou l'exageration de l'info va et celui qui n'est que novice et bien il apprendra sur le tas!
A chacun de nous de se faire son opinion de toute façon, et de croiser toutes les informations que nous avons sous la main... Comme je l'ai dis dans un autre post, c'est clair que ce n'est pas la situation actuelle qui m'empecherait à nouveau d'aller faire un tour en Bolivie...😉
Bien d'accord... j'ai été souvent au Guatémala, et notamment dans les années 80 - 90, donc au plus fort des massacres. Si je n'avais pas été "attentif" à la situation politique et sociale du pays, jamais je n'aurais cru ce qui était donné comme info à ce propos.
Des exemples? la caserne se trouvant à l'entrée du lac Atitlan était presque drôle avec sa guérite d'entrée en forme de casque (allemand?) presque ridicule! et pourtant, c'est de là que partait la répression sanglante dans les villages autour du lac. Nous voulions gravir un volcan? on nous le déconseillait vivement pour diverses raisons (mais jamais les bonnes)... les militaires arrêtaient notre bus? contrôle de routine...
Attention, je ne connais absolument pas la Bolivie et je ne veux pas faire de parallèle. Simplement, on peut être touriste-voyageur et ne se rendre absolument pas compte de ce qui se passe réellement dans un pays!

Si tu sais faire la part des choses, tres bien, en attendant je vois pleins de gens sur ce tchat qui se disent Houlalalala en Bolivie c'est la MERDE, et ben NON mon pote ici c' est po la Merde. Demande a tout les boliviens qui sont la (lis les jouraux nationaux ou le monde diplo ici c'est une crise de plus) ils te le diront : comme d'hab, c'est la crise. N'oublie po une chose mon pote, la bolivie a un truc bien particulier elle a changee 175 fois de president en 70 ans (je sais en Argentine il y a eu aussi des rat'es). Pour dire que la stabilitee politique ici ils ne connaissent po!
Tout ca simplement pour crier ma colere quand je lis des gens qui dramatisent la situation, c'est tout, nada mas! Je suis simplement la pour te dire HEY MON POTE NE PREND PO POUR ARGENT COMPTENT TOUT CE QU'ON TE BALANCE SUR TON NET. Ne vous emballez po, la bolivie c' est ca : crise sur crise et puis bien sur, comme partout, il y a des manoeuvres politiques, des salauds qui en veulent toujours plus et des chevalier blancs qui se transforment en crapauds.
Allez mon pote, dors sur tes deux oreilles, la bolivie continue sont bonhomme de chemin (meme si on a l'impression qu'elle tourne en rond).
Et puis herge si je t'es fais du tord et ben t'en pis, fallait po avancer des trucs dans l'vent, et puis c'est bon de temps en temps de se faire remettre a sa place, non? Tu vas bien nous trouver une autre drise dramatique en amerique ou en Asie pour nous balancer tes d'images chocs!
Là où elle en est depuis des années : sa manifeste, sa gueule, y a des barrages, puis y en a plus, puis 2 mois après y en a à nouveau, y a des politiques qui sautent, ...etc
Oui, le topo est assez succint mais ça peut se résumer à ça finalement. On vit une époque formidable, ...même en Bolivie.

Herge, latin comme il est, a le sang chaud, jouant des fois de la provocation tels ses post sur les guets neuneus...mais c est ainsi qu il pense faire avancer le smilblick des voyageurs ! Il habite a Buenos Aires, et de ce fait est au courant des evenements en Argentine, c'est aussi un gros lecteurs (papier et internet) de ce qui touche les pays limitrophes, mais reste toujours dans son domaine ......il n'ecrit pas sur ce qu il ne connait pas ! Avez vous deja lu un post sur le Bresil ou sur le Perou de lui ? NON ...il laisse ca a d'autres qui en savent bien plus que lui dans ce domaine, et je leve bien haut mon chapeau a Chachapoya sur le Perou ou a Dilermando sur le Bresil . ( m essuyant le front de mon mouchoir, je fais une pose et je reprend ) . Concernant les infos que mon client envoie, il les verifie, sur la Bolivie, les medias entre ceux publiés a la Paz et ceux publiés a Santa Cruz de la Sierra sont totalement different sur la meme info ...normal, ils ne sont pas controles par les memes. Pour autant, il fait la difference entre info reel et info propagande...de meme sur les photos qui y sont attaches, il s emploie toujours a preciser le jour a laquelle elle a ete prise. Nous sommes en effet en Amerique du Sud, les infos s enchainent ici a vitesse Grand V, une info juste le lundi a midi peut etre contredite le mardi matin ....une route bloquée le lundi a midi est partiellement ouverte a 18h00..etc..etc..etc.. Par exemple, a multiples reprises la frontiere de la Quiaca entre la Bolivie et l Argentine a ete fermee sans aucun preavis et cela plusieurs heures par jour, il est donc tres difficile de savoir a l'avance ou meme sur le moment, si le blocage va rester partiel ou total sur toute la journee. Donc je repond a ceux qui ont touours tendance a dire : "mais moi j y suis passé c etait tranquille, tout etait normal, et le traffic se faisait de maniere normale"...que peut etre quelques heures auparavant tout etait bloqué. Dans un de ces posts, Herge a repété que pour les vfistes timing: ceux qui visitent un pays avec la montre, il n'etait pas souhaitable de visiter la Bolivie pour le moment ....tout horaire est imprevisible, meme les vols de LAB Bolivia ont des retards de plsuieurs heures meme sur l international....et je en parle meme pas des bus . Maintenant pour ceux qui voyagent tranquille et qui ont un mois ou plus pour decouvrir la Bolivie, bien au contraire, je pense que c'est le moment dy aller, il s y passe des choses interressantes en politique et pour ceux qui ont la chance de parler l espagnol, c'est aussi le moment de parler de ces sujets avec les boliviens et de leurs problemes qui sont nombreux, au moins le moyen de sortir en ce moment de la visite "classique" de la Bolivie.
Ne faites pas dire a Herge, ce qu il n a pas dit ..... pour ce qui est de l Argentine et de l insecurite. il n a jamais parlé de "sentiment d'insecurite" qui est difficilement quantifiable, il a parlé d "insecurite" et pour cela il s appuit toujours sur les dernieres statistiques publies donc verifiables, et aussi comparables a ceux de la France . Donc il est comfirmé que l'Argentine est 5 fois plus dangereuse au niveau meurtre, vol, viols, et cambriolage que la France....pour ce qui est des kidnapings on atteind des chiffres de 20 fois plus que la France. Donc a la question : Est ce que l Argentine est dangereuse, tout depend qui a posé la question, pour un habitant de Paris, il faut repondre OUI, pour un habitant de Bogota, il faut repondre NON . Mais les chiffres sont la....et on ne peut pas les changer. Le "sentiment d'insecurité", ca c est un facteur autre !
Freemen parle de posts souvent negatifs voir exagerement noircis. Herge ne va tout de meme pas envoyer des posts quand tout va bien du style : " Aujourd'hui a Aeroparque tous les vols sont arrives et sont partis "..ou " le metro fonctionne ce lundi " ou " pas de manif a Buenos Aires demain !", ou en serait l interet ? Si il a decidé d envoyer un post c'est justement qu il y a un probleme !......maintenant a vous de vous demander si vous n auriez pas tendance a faire d un fait unique une generalite, de lire par exemple que la semaine derniere il y a eu deux incendies de turbine a Aeroparque pour croire que tous les avions ont des problemes ?, de lire qu il y a une manif sur l avenida de mayo et de croire que tous les jours la ville de Buenos Aires est paralysee par les manifs ? Dans ce cas la, c'est vous qui vous montez le bourrichon tout seul ! Une photo de manif un lundi matin a Cochabamba et vous pensez que la Bolivie est a feu et a sang ? Un bus qui se renverse avec 20 morts et il ne faut pas prendre le bus en Argentine ? ...et on peut continuer comme ca pendant longtemps.......
Alors la question est la " etes vous adulte ? " ou faut il sans cesse vous rassurer, calmer vos inquietudes, tranquilliser vos doutes ? .......oui, l Argentine est un pays tranquille, oui l Argentine est securitaire, non il ne vous passera rien ici, tout est calme ....nous sommes a Eurodisney, bienvenue au pays du bonheur et des argentins qui vivent heureux dans un pays magique ! ............vous avez decidé de faire le voyage de venir ici, bien ......voulez vous connaitre la verité ou vous refugier dans des nouvelles cocoonées ......... alors ouvrez les yeux et venez le vivre ..............et si il y a 10 plaintes par jour a Buenos Aires de francais qui se font piquer leur passeport ne dites pas que Tous les francais se font forcemment piquer leur passeport en Argentine !
Vivons dans un monde reel, visitez l Argentine tel qu elle est et non telle que vous voudriez qu elle soit !

on est toujours sans nouvelles d'Hergé ... c'est le quatorzième jour de détention de notre reporter argentin ex "el tristus" et de son guide Haroun el routard... Jean Michel Barnier est actuellement en route pour Buenos Aires...

Deja une bonne nouvelle pour les vfiste en ballade en Argentine pour Paques......il y aura des bus longue distance........En effet hier soir a commencé a Retiro une greve des bus de la part du syndicat des chauffeurs (UTA) pour une augmentation des salaires et une reduction des horaires de travail.... a 20h00 plus un seul bus sortait de la Terminal de Bsas-Retiro...( 3.000 voyageurs attendaient betement sur les quais ) ....pas bete de faire une greve a la veille de Paques ( ici c'est ferie a partir de demain jeudi...donc plein de departs ce soir mercredi ) ......epreuve de force reussi, puisque les compagnies de bus ont accepte de revoir les conditions de travail et les salaires ( +23 % de hausse des salaires ) .......... Une heure plus tard a 21 H00 la greve etait levee ! ( voila une bonne nouvelle ), ce matin a 8h00, L UTA a declaré qu il n y aura aucune greve durant Paques ! Donc aujourd'hui depart des 2000 bus de Retiro ( ce soir un depart toutes les 15 secondes ...ca en fait du monde ).
🙂 ...... enfin, il est sorti ..... mais il faut dire qu'avec son avocat et cette brillante plaidoirie, on ne s'attendait pas à ce qu'il reste encore enfermé, et certains d'entre nous vont pouvoir cesser leur grève de la faim ...... 😉
Je suis un pro Herge bien que n'ayant jamais mis les pieds en Amérique du Sud, mais quel encyclopédie et quel talent pour nous parler de ce pays qu'il affectionne tant au plus profond de ses tripes ...... et sans lui le forum AMSUD serait bien palôt ......
D'ailleurs au début de l'année prochaine, une autre pro argentine proche de mon coeur 😇 ..... m'a décidé de partir pour ce pays, et nul doute que je fairais alors connaissance de ce garçon .....

Voilà qu'après toutes ces infos alarmistes j'avais (presque) renoncé a aller en Bolivie cet été...mais je repars à la case "départ" si les infos sont amplifiées...juste une question a tous ceux qui en savent plus (et qui disposent bien sûr d'une boule de cristal pour évaluer la situation en Août prochain !) : pourquoi le site du ministère des affaires étrangères déconseille t'il formellement de se rendre en Bolivie "sauf raison impérieuse"...

En fait j ai envie de dire que cette semaine ca se calme, non pas dans les problemes qui restent entiers, mais dans la facon de noyer le poisson ( pour Paques...bon jeu de mot !), en effet cette semaine c'est l anniversaire le 126 eme de la defense de Calama, ben oui voyons, la guerre contre le Chili, le "mechant" qui a piqué l'unique port de la Bolivie sur le Pacifique .
Donc, les medias ( habilement manipulés par Mesa ) ne parlent que de cet anniversaire, journee ferie, discours, blablablabla .......... histoire d'occuper le peuple avec autre chose ! Hier mercredi Discour de Mesa a La Paz, blablabla..... du style " LA DEMANDA DE RETORNAR A LAS COSTAS DEL OCÉANO PACÍFICO ES "INDECLINABLE" E "IRRENUNCIABLE."...ben tiens, le Chili va le refiler comme ca ....simplement parce que la Bolivie le demande... Tiens ca me rapelle l histoire des Malouines..... I’m planning a trip with my partner (no kids this time—thanks, Grandma!) for two weeks to celebrate her 40th birthday. I’ve been thinking about Chile. We’re looking at leaving around September 18, 2027, starting in the south and returning in early April.
Here’s what I had in mind:
8 nights in a van in the Lake District and the start of the Carretera Austral (up to the Chaitén area). We’re set to arrive in Puerto Montt around 2:00 PM. We don’t want to go too far south since we’re planning to explore the heart of Patagonia (Chile and Argentina) with the kids when they’re older. The idea is to spend 3 nights discovering the lakes (up to Cochamó) and 3 nights in Pumalín Park. I’ve also added two transition nights.
7 nights in the Atacama to experience another side of Chile (San Pedro), taking a domestic flight from Puerto Montt to Calama in the early afternoon. We’ll depart for France in the early evening from Santiago.
IMPORTANT NOTICE for those planning to take a bus to another city, state, or destination from Salvador!
Starting January 20, 2026, the intercity bus station Rodoviária is changing its address!
The Rodoviária is leaving the Iguatemi area and will now be located in ÁGUAS CLARAS (about twenty kilometers from downtown Salvador).
A brand-new station (the most modern in Brazil) has just been set up there, accessible by car/taxi/Uber/metro.
Allow for much more transfer time (especially during rush hours), so leave early if you're heading to Chapada Diamantina or other Brazilian cities by bus.
Remember, there are also private transfers (even French-speaking ones) that can take you directly from your hotel in Salvador to your hotel in Chapada. Sure, it’ll be more expensive, but you’ll save on transfer time and comfort.

Day 10: Drive to Cochrane and hike in Tamango National Reserve. We'll stay 2 nights in Cochrane.
Day 11: Walk in the Chacabuco Valley.
Day 12: Drive to Caleta Tortel. We'll stay there for 2 nights.
Day 13: Cruise in the Rio Baker delta.
Day 14: Return to Cochrane.
Day 15: Return to Balmaceda in two stages.
Day 16: Continue the return journey.
Day 17: Return the rental car and head back to Santiago.
After this, we're also planning to explore northern Santiago. I'll post about that part once I have a clearer idea of the route.

Below is our draft itinerary (with questions at each stop):
29/11: France → Colombia. Overnight in Bogotá.
30/11: Exploring Bogotá: La Candelaria and Montserrate.
01/12: Gold Museum (closed on Mondays). Drive to Zipaquirá (1.5 hrs) to visit the Salt Cathedral. Then drive to Villa de Leyva (3 hrs). Explore the town. Overnight in Villa de Leyva.
02/12: Return to Bogotá via Laguna de Guatavita (5 hrs). Is it worth the detour? Overnight in Bogotá.
03/12: Flight to Pereira. Drive to Salento. Overnight in Salento.
04/12: Cocora Valley (hike among the wax palms) followed by a drive around the area. Are there any waterfalls or other sights nearby?
05/12: Visit a coffee finca—any recommendations? Then explore the surroundings: Filandia, Manizales, waterfalls? Hot springs? Which ones?
06/12: Flight to Medellín.
07/12: Exploring Medellín: Centro, Plaza Botero, Comuna 13. How do you visit Comuna 13? Is it easy to get around Medellín? Metro? Buses?

I’ve sketched out a rough itinerary but I’m not sure how to arrange it—considering the climate, year-end holidays, and Carnival.
Basically, I’m thinking of the Amazon, the Northeast coast with Lençóis Maranhenses National Park (but skipping Chapada Diamantina),
Ouro Preto, Paraty, and Ilha Grande—but no Rio visit.
Is this doable in 3 months?

Hi everyone, French travelers in Chile—what credit cards do you use for your various car rentals in the country? I’m traveling in September and was planning to switch my regular debit card (a VISA PREMIER in deferred debit mode) for the deposit guarantee.
My rentals are with Figal in Punta Arenas, Econautos in Arica, and Chilean Rent a Car in Temuco, and all of them want the deposit on a credit card. For me, deferred debit *should* work, but I’ve read comments saying the opposite.
How’s it actually working on the ground with these rental companies right now? Will a deferred debit card work, or not at all?
In France, banks don’t issue credit cards, right—or am I mistaken?

I’m desperately looking for info on the schedules and routes of (shared) boats to visit the islands of Lake Titicaca.
From what I’ve found, there’s a *combi* (bus) that leaves from Puno to go to Llachon. Where do you catch it? What are the schedules and frequency? Does it take about 1 hour?
Then in Llachon, you can take a boat to Amantani (45 min). Same question—where do you check for frequency and schedule?
After that, from Amantani, boats go to Taquile and then Uros. Do you have enough time to visit the islands between two boats? Frequency and schedule?
The goal is to do this tour independently (no agency) over 2 days. Thanks for any tips you might have!
I just got back from a trip to Bolivia and wow—what a wake-up call. It’s not the easiest country, but it’s absolutely stunning.
I started with Isla del Sol, perfect for easing into the altitude at a relaxed pace. Try to stay in the northern part of the island—it’s quieter and the views are insane. And the trout there? Unreal. Quick tip: bring cash in small bills; they almost never have change, and cards are rarely accepted.
Next up, La Paz. The city’s pretty wild, built in every direction. I did a few hikes in the area, including the famous Charquini Lagoon (the blue lake) at over 5,000 m—let’s just say I struggled 😅 but it was so beautiful it was totally worth it.
After that, I headed to Sajama. It’s cool, especially for the hot springs, and I stayed in Tomarapi. But honestly, if you’re short on time, you can skip it without too many regrets.
The highlight of the trip: the Salar. I did it starting from Tupiza, and I *highly* recommend going Tupiza → Uyuni. Way less crowded at the start and the landscapes are super varied. For the tour, I used SplitYourGuide to find a group, and it worked out great. Super handy for splitting costs and meeting people.
I wrapped up in Sucre—this city is gorgeous, all white, with such a chill vibe. And the salteñas + ice cream? Next level 😋
Bottom line: Bolivia’s a bit rough around the edges, sometimes exhausting (shoutout to the altitude), but it’s 1000% worth it.

I was planning to go to Réunion and stay in half-board accommodation with non-professionals, but it seems that’s not really the custom there—or maybe my budget isn’t big enough.
So, since I’ve already traveled around Ecuador and Peru, I’m now looking at Argentina, especially for its mountains (like the ones in Réunion that tempted me, even though—frustratingly—I could only admire them from below).
I plan to get around by bus and don’t know in advance where I’ll sleep, so I won’t book ahead. If I like a place, I might stay for several days.
I know that in Chile, it’s easy to find half-board accommodation, but what about in Argentina?
I’d like to stay with locals in half-board without it being a professional setup. I’m not sure if this is common practice there. It’s up to me to find someone willing to host me.
What do you think?

We’re heading to Patagonia for three weeks in November, starting from Coyhaique in Chile.
We won’t have a car, and I’m struggling to find information about transportation options for a few parts of the itinerary we’d like to do:
1) From Perito Moreno (the town, near Los Antiguos), we’d like to travel down Ruta 40 to visit Perito Moreno National Park and then cross into Chile via the Paso Roballos (at the latitude of Bajo Caracoles) to reach the road to Cochrane. Without a car, it seems we’ll need to use private agencies to get to the national park—do you have any recommendations or suggestions? Also, does anyone know if it’s possible to cross into Chile via Paso Roballos (from Bajo Caracoles) without a rental car? That is, without having to go all the way down to El Chaltén or back up toward Perito Moreno/Los Antiguos, etc.?
2) The second stretch that seems a bit tricky (though still easier, in theory) is from Caleta Tortel to Villa O’Higgins on the Chilean side. Do we have to go back through Cochrane, or are there ways to get directly from Tortel to Villa O’Higgins?
3) Finally, we’d like to hike into Argentina (El Chaltén) from O’Higgins. Any recommendations for this? Do we need to go through an agency? What’s the estimated duration of the trek?
As you’ve probably gathered, we want to visit some off-the-beaten-path spots but don’t have a car, so we’re looking for the best possible compromises.

we’re planning a round trip from San Pedro de Atacama, Chile, to Salta, Argentina, in two months. On the way there, we’ll take the northern route via Susques, Route 27, then 52. But for the return, we were thinking of taking the southern route via San Antonio de los Cobres, Route 51, then 23. Is it similar to the northern route in terms of road surface? How busy is it, and are there gas stations? Basically, should we be worried about doing it in an SUV that’s supposedly 4x4 but has regular road tires and no second spare wheel, obviously...
I’ve seen that we can stop over in San Antonio de los Cobres.

we’ll be in Calama at the end of March 2026, and I’m looking for a reliable car rental there for a 7-day road trip to Salta, Argentina. But I’m struggling with the car rental agencies in Calama because the reviews can be scary. I saw Gyg, which has great ratings, but I’m a bit wary (5/5 from 59 reviews—either the guy’s amazing or it’s fake...), but I can’t find any recent reviews on VF in general.
For Punta Arenas, I booked with Dachelet and didn’t have any issues with email exchanges.
