Je viens de prendre connaissance de cette nouvelle reglementation. certains disent que ca s'appliquent a tous les visas (meme ceux crees avant cette nouvelle reglementation). D'autres disent que ca ne s'applique pas au visa touristiques de 6 mois mais a des visas longues durees. D'autres encore disent qu'il faut attendre 2 mois entre chaque sejours que le visa soit en cours de validite ou pas visa. D'autres disent que ca s'applique aussi aux cartes PIO.... je suis allee sur le site de l'ambassade dans la rubrique consulaire rien n'est indique, rien ne confirme cette information. Je suis allee sur le site d'action visa qui en parle un peu mais sans s'etaler, il en est de meme pour le site VFS... Rien de concret, pas de textes.
Juste un truc j'ai un visa touristique de 6 mois qui a ete cree le 14/10/09. je suis partie en Inde le 13/11/09. je suis rentree le 23 decembre. je suis arrivee a bombai samedi le 16/01/2010 soit moins de 2 mois entre les deux sejours. je n'ai eu aucun probleme a l'imigration, on ne pas demande de m'enregistrer. rien. (A noter qu'il est ecris sur mon visa qu'un enregistrement aupres du consulat est necessaire a partir du moment ou le sejour est superieur a 180 Jours).
Alors est ce que quelqu'un a des informations fiables ? Pourquoi suis je sur le territoire indien, pourquoi y suis rentree sans aucun probleme ? Cette nouvelle reglementation aurait ete annulee ? Les sites Action visa et VFS ne serait pas a jour ?

Je te le rappelle je possede bien un visa touriste entree multiple valable 6 mois, je sortie d'inde le 23 decembre et rerentre le 15 janvier sans problemes.

Si vous rentrez en Inde et que vous y restiez le temps de votre visa, pas de problèmes mais si vous devez sortir il faut rester 2 mois avant de revenir. Beaucoup de gens se sont trouvés refoulés aux aéroports, n'attendez aucune compassion : vol de retour vers la france à modifier si vous pensez sortir de l'inde..

Il existe une re-entry permission délivrée par les autorités indiennes à demander dans le pays où vous voyagez ( si vous sortez du territoire indien) mais rien n'est moins sur. Des amis m'ont ecrit de Bangkok la semaine dernière en disant qu'ils avaient eu ce papaier, d'autres non...
Le mieux est de séjourner en Inde pendant tte la durée de votre voyage et de remettre à une autre fois une sortie-entree vers un autre pays.

exemple concret : j'ai un visa multiple entrée, validité 6 mois, valable du 28/10/09 au 28/04/10.
je suis revenue d'inde le 24 décembre, et envisage peut-être de repartir fin févrer, ce qui risque d'être limite si il faut ces 2 mois en question sur un autre territoire... alors quelqu'un peut-il me dire clairement ce qu'il en est ? ce visa est toujours valable, mais puis-je entrer en Inde si je n'ai pas séjourné ailleurs 2 mois complet ? ceci dit, ou est-il noté que j'ai quitté l'inde le 24 décembre ??? a ma connaissance, nulle part, pas de cachet sur le visa, rien.
quel bordel avec tout ça, et on ne peut pas dire que l'ambassade aide bcp... ils repondent une fois sur 3 aux mails...

Au vu des nombreux messages de ce post, je vais vous faire part de ma pitoyable expérience. J'ai cherché, j'ai pas trouvé d'autre qualificatif.
J'ai un visa multi-entrées valable du 8 octobre 2009 au 7 avril 2010.
Je repars d'inde le 21 décembre.
le 1er février, je retourne en Inde et là, l'immigration me refuse tout net l'entrée. Pas moyen, mais alors pas moyen de négocier. Il semble que la situation ait changé depuis le 18 janvier. Donc, chanceuse es-tu toi qui es entrée le 16 !
un mec, qui a dû avoir la prime de l'incompétence du mois de janvier, me propose une alternative au retour en France : aller au Népal. là, aller voir l'ambassade de l'Inde, expliquer mon cas. C'était sensé être simple et sûr. J'ai eu à payer le billet A/R ktm-Delhi (près de 300€ !) pour un départ dans les 2 heures. Mais il m'a assuré que mon cas serait réglé dans la journée et je pourrais revenir le lendemain.
Je me pointe le 2 février à l'ambassade. Là, je suis tombée sur celui qui avait eu la médaille du moins aimable. Il n'y a que 2 cas pour une permission spéciale : urgence médicale ou date de retour. Dans ces 2 cas uniquement, ils délivrent un laisser-passer (j'ai pas eu d'information sure sur la durée, parfois 12 jours, parfois 2).
A l'immigration népalaise, j'avais pris un visa de transit vu que je devais repartir le lendemain.
Obligée de restée finalement 20 jours, je vais au service d'immigration pour demander une extension.
Nouvelle cata, ils ne font pas d'extension sur les visa de transit. C'est limite si je devais pas partir dans l'heure qui suit.
Heureusement, l'immigration népalaise est moins obtuse que l'indienne et ils ont consenti à faire une exception.
Conclusion 1 = le personnel de l'immigration indienne n'y connait rien, pour preuve le manque d'information sur les sites officiels et au poste
conclusion 2 = si vous devez passer par le népal, prenez le visa de 15 jours au moins, qui lui, peut être étendu.
Quand j'y suis allée, nous étions 3 dans le même cas. Aucune solution légale ne nous a été proposée.

Nous avons passé 3 mois en Inde du Sud avec nos deux enfants. Puis, comme finalement nous avions plus de temps que prévu pour voyager, et un visa de 6 mois avec entrée multiple, nous avons décidé de faire un tour en Thaîlande avant d'affronter l'Hiver français.
A Chennai, où nous devons revenir prendre notre vol retour, ils nous ont mis le tampon de la nouvelle règlementation, qui consiste à devoir rester hors d'Inde pendant 60 jours , et à devoir demander une permission spéciale pour revenir prendre notre avion.
Enfin, prendre l'avion , ça va. Mais demain, je vais chercher la réponse à la permission, car nous avons un jour et demi de délai entre l'arrivée à Chennai et le départ vers la France, et avec nos deux mini travellers (4 et 6 ans) , on voudrait bien pouvoir sortir de la zone internationale de l'aéroport et même passer les deux nuits de ces 36 heures dans un lit!

nous on a pu rentrer : apparemment , ce n'était qu'une affaire d'argent. La permission est facilement accordée, la facture est jointe. Tu paies à chaque fois que tu poses les pieds en Inde. Dans cette histoire, ils ont empoché beaucoup de fric .
Je ne sais plus combien on a du payer en Baths à l'ambassade d'Inde en Thaïlande, et puis y retourner 3 fois, et faire la queue...
4800 baths je crois , pour nous avec deux enfants.
mon mari est decu de ces nouvelles directives de visa car lui c ' est un algerien de pere et de mere il est ne en france il aime bcq l algerie et il est marie aec une algerienne le seul probleme c est qu on arrive à trouver l extrait de deces de son grand pere à guelma alors ni nationalite ni passport il visite chaque annee l algerie avec un visa de 30 jours et ne trouve pas de solution pour son probleme vis a vis qu il est algerien de sang alors il à été tres mecontent de cette decision qui tombe mal pour certains cas mais j'approuve d'un cote notre pays essaye de nous donnes plus de respect et de fierte envers ceux qui nous maltraite et nous distinguent comme un peuple sauvage j ose encore esperer qu un jour ce probleme se resoudra

I’m planning a trip from France to Alberta/British Columbia, and I’m unsure about which bank card to use for the security deposit with the rental company (I’m thinking of going with AVIS).
I contacted Avis Canada, and they told me a credit card is absolutely required. I asked my bank for a credit card (a *real* credit card), but they only offered me a deferred debit card.
My question: For a rental with Avis Canada, is a Gold International Mastercard deferred debit card usable for the security deposit needed to finalize the rental? Is the "CREDIT" label enough? (Some cards say "CREDIT" and others say "CARTE DE CREDIT"—seems minor, but it’s actually a big deal in how the card works.)
I’ve seen conflicting info everywhere I look... My bank says it’s *usually* okay (the deferred debit card), while Avis Canada insists it *must* be a credit card, not debit—even when I mention the deferred debit card.
I know the whole credit card concept is already confusing, and on top of that, some sites say a deferred debit card counts as a credit card, while others say it doesn’t.

I’ll explain my situation.
Unfortunately, I lost my passport, and I only realized it two weeks before my departure for a humanitarian mission in Libya. I’m a nurse, and this mission really means a lot to me.
First, I applied for an emergency passport, but it was denied by the Val-d'Oise prefecture on the grounds that a planned humanitarian mission wasn’t considered an urgent reason.
So, I submitted a biometric passport application on July 20th. Since then, the tracking has been stuck, and the town hall can’t (or won’t) give me any clear information. Every time I call, I get a different story. The last update I received was that the passport had been produced since July 23rd with a status of "about to be shipped," but nothing since then.
I’ve managed to push my departure back to next Tuesday at the latest, but I’m starting to really panic.
Have any of you submitted an application around July 20th, especially in Val-d'Oise (95)? How long did you wait between the passport being produced and it being available at the town hall? Is it normal for this step to take this long?
This mission means so much to me. I had everything organized, and I’m also supposed to attend a friend’s wedding right after near the border.

I’m a bit embarrassed because I need to travel to Quebec from February 27th to March 13th. I’m a regular visitor to Canada—this will be my 10th trip since 1997, plus a year as a permanent resident (2000–2001) and a cross-country run from Vancouver to Halifax in 2011. So, I’m definitely not a terrorist!
But since our last trip in July 2015, they’ve introduced this eTA thing. Seems more like a way to make money than to actually secure Canada, if you ask me, but anyway, that’s not the point.
I applied for an eTA for myself, my wife, and our two kids. They all got approved within hours, but not me! I was asked to create a GC key and then an IRCC account, which I did. Normally, you get news within 72 hours, but since Monday, January 15th, nothing!
In the "message" section of the account, it says "explanation letter (required)" with a deadline of January 25th, but I can’t find any explanation anywhere—despite searching the Canadian government website and Google. No links, nothing!
I’ve emailed them but haven’t heard back yet. I’m thinking of calling the Canadian embassy in Paris tomorrow. Even though I’m not stressing yet, it’d be a bummer if everyone else got to go without me!
If anyone’s had this issue before or knows what this explanation letter is about, I’d love to hear more.

I bought a one-way flight (Ryanair) and a return flight (EasyJet) to spend a week in Morocco in April.
My passport expires 3 weeks after the return date.
Some websites say the passport must be valid for 3 months at the time of entry.
However, it will still be valid both on entry and return, but its validity will only be 1 month at the time of entry (and 3 weeks on the return date, everything prepaid).
It's an individual family trip.
The consulate can't give me an answer—they're still looking into it (really!)
Last year, we stayed for 3 months in Thailand, north of Khao Lak, and were able to benefit from the 2-month visa exemption, renewable for one month by going to Takua Pa to validate a 1-month extension (1,900 baht).
This year, it’s a disaster for us—not only were we planning a 4-month stay, adding a visa run in between (which some say is quite risky), but the law is apparently changing in the coming months with the return of the 1-month exemption (plus the usual 1-month option). So, we looked into applying for a 6-month multiple-entry visa, allowing a maximum of 60 consecutive days in Thailand. However, I can’t find anywhere the minimum time required outside Thailand between two stays—do any of you have an idea?

As a French national, I need to obtain a short-stay visa that can be converted to a long-stay one. To do this, I have to send the required documents to the Madagascar embassy in Paris.
No issues with that procedure so far.
If I get this visa, once I arrive in Madagascar, I’ll need to provide the same documents to the Ministry of the Interior in Anosy. I’m trying to find an email address or website for the Ministry to check which documents I need to submit (I think they ask for additional ones).

I’d like to know if anyone has already applied for a private visa to Russia with an invitation from a Russian resident.
I traveled earlier this year with an e-visa, but since I want to stay longer, I’ll be visiting my friend who lives in eastern Russia.
For the visa application, does the invitation need to be on an official paper form issued by the Russian ministry? And most importantly, do I need to present the original for the application, or is there an electronic version that can be sent directly to the consulate in France?

I filled out the B2 form to apply for a visa, created an account on Atvis to pay the visa fees and schedule a meet-up, but every time I try to pay with my Boursobank Visa 1st card, they refuse the payment with a message telling me to check my details (address), even though everything is correct. Does anyone know why this is happening, or maybe they don’t accept Visa cards? Are you aware of this?

I’ve read that China may ask for proof of exit within 30 days (flight ticket or other reservation). Since we’d be leaving by land, I’m wondering how this works in practice.

On her passport, it’s written as Martine DUPOND épouse AVRY.
No issues for travel, I hope I did the right thing with the ticket?
Then for the ESTA, is just Martine DUPOND enough, or do I need to include the "épouse AVRY" part like on the passport?
