Voilà je suis étudiante en management hotelier de luxe et je pars avec une amies faire un stage de 5 mois dans un hotel sur la Marine Drive à Bombay dans 2 semaines.
Le stress commence à monter sachant qu'il s'agit de ma première fois seule loin de la famille et encore plus en Asie. L'hotel où je travaillerai prend en charge le logement.
Ayant lu les sujets précédents surl'inde, j'ai pu me faire une idée de quoi amener et autre mais aucun ne parle de (du moins j'ai pas touvé) :
Comment s'habiller pour la mousson ? (pour éviter d'arriver dans un état déplorable au stage)
L'humidité à Bombay est elle si atroce que ce qu'on me dit ? Comment éviter les moisissures ?
comment se créer des relations ? (je veux dire, est ce que les indiens sont des personnes acceuillants et ouverts ?)
comment faire pour communiquer avec mon amie par téléphone à Mumbai sans payer un forfait français ?
et enfin, y a t-il des shops qui vendent de la nourriture occidentale ?

Bonjour Constance, je ne suis jamais allée à Bombay pendant la mousson mais je peux t'aider quand même ...
Pour le téléphone, achète une carte sim indienne dès que tu arrives , tu trouve des magasins qui les vendent partout en ville.Tu pourras même téléphoner en France car le prix est dérisoire.Il faut juste que ton téléphone soit débloqué.Moi j'ai crédité 1000 roupies sur ma carte et j'ai appelé en France et en Inde pendant 1 mois et demi , et envoyé de nombreux textos.
Pour la nourriture , il y a plein de restos et cafés qui servent des plats occidentaux , des pâtisseries ou tu pourras manger des croissants et trouver du pain.Ils sont nombreux dans le quartier de Colaba.Mais je suis sure que tu te régaleras avec les plats indiens....
Pour ce qui est de l'humidité , je n'ai pas de miracle a te donner car d'après ce que j'ai lu et entendu c'est une vrai calamité.Prends dans ta valise des bottes de pluie et sur place achète toi un parapluie....
Les indiens sont des gens sympas et curieux de connaitre les étrangers , maintenant tu seras dans une grande ville , alors les gens sont peut être moins chaleureux comme dans toute grande ville n'importe ou dans le monde..Si tu a envie de prendre contact avec d'autres étrangers du monde entier , il y a le site Expat blog qui est une mine de rencontre..
J'ai adoré cette ville et pourtant au début ce n'était pas gagné...beaucoup de pollution, de bruit, de gens...mais je crois qu'en cinq mois tu apprendras à l'apprécier .

j'ai aussi effectué un stage à mumbai pendant la mousson...il y a quelques temps de cela.
un conseil, être équipé d'un bon parapluie...ou même plusieurs car ca casse vite ces choses là.
le climat peut etre difficile a supporter au debut mais tu t'y feras vite et en plus tu seras au bord de la mer a marine drive...c'est tres sympa par la bas comparé à ou je me trouvais!!
j'avais acheté un mobile pas cher avec sim....très bon marché d'appeler en france.
pr les shops qui vendent de la nourriture occidentale, je ne sais pas vraiment mais tu trouveras surement ou tu seras..car c'est l'endroit le plus touristique de la ville. tu y verras pas mal d'occidentaux.

Pour ma part, mon stage s'est bien déroulé bien que je n'avais pas de réelle mission. j'ai été force de proposition et j'ai du en gros "créer ma mission" (apparement c'est assz courant). j'ai fait mon stage dans la "filiale" indienne d'un constructeur auto allemand, mais tous mes collègues étaient indiens (nous étions environs une quinzaine au total).
très bonne expérience qui te sort complétement de la routine : aller au boulot en rickshaw, horaire de travail différent, nourriture, cérémonie religieuse lors de la vente d'une audi TT...(il m'est aussi arrivé de ne pas aller au travail à cause de la mousson).
mes collègues étaient plutot sympas et serviables. a titre d'exemple, je leur demande ou je peux changer mes travellers cheques. ils ont fait déplacer un "banquier" dans l'etreprise alors que je n'avais ni mon passport, ni mes travellers sur moi. un de mes collègue m'a du coup emmener en moto pour aller chercher mes docs ou je logeais et cela pendant les horaires de travail (biensur sans casque...et il conduisait en téléphonant.)
après je ne te cache pas que c'est toujours facile. le bruit, la pollution, le nombre de personnes ds la rue etc...tu verras par toi même.

Our departure time is getting closer (we have less than 2 years left—it’s both a long time and so short!). To start preparing seriously, we’ll need quite a bit of info. If anyone knows the rates charged by movers for a crate to French Polynesia, or what pitfalls to avoid (I know you can get quotes directly from movers, but I’d love insights from actual customers😉).
