Bonjour, je dois partir en expat vivre en Bolivie a La Paz en Juillet 2011, pour deux ans. Peut on m'aider pour mon installation :
Je parts seule, sans notion d'espagnol (avec 40 h seulement, j'apprendrais sur place).
Quels sont le ou les quartiers d'habitations qui pourrait me convenir, sachant que je cherche un logement avec chauffage, connexion internet haut débit, et sécurisé ? A combien s'élève les loyers ?
Je cherche également à prendre des cours d'espagnol de qualité, a t-on une adresse à me communiquer ?
Sinon, y a t-il des Français ou des Bolivariens qui parlent Français a La Paz, avec qui je pourrais prendre contact pour avoir des informations et préparer mon installation.
Je remercie d'avance toutes personnes qui pourrait me donner ces renseignements. Je n'ai pas l'habitude de voyager, et pour moi ce sera ma première expérience à l'étranger.

Alors tu prépare un grand voyage à La Paz ? J'ai passé 2 ans à La Paz, et j'y retourne avec mon ami pour m'y installer après 1.5 an au Maroc, on va aussi déménager autour de juillet.
Donc j'ai pas mal de conseil pour toi si tu veux.
- Au niveau des quartiers, je crois que cela dépend beaucoup de ton lieu de travail (le centre ou la Zona Sur), pour éviter trop de déplacement par jour. Dans le centre les quartiers ou tu peux facilement habiter sont Sopocachi, Miraflores et la zone centrale, dans la Zona Sur c'est Calacoto, Ipavi, Los pinos, Obrajes. Vu tes exigences (le chauffage est rare à La Paz) tu peux bien compter entre 400 et 500$/mois. Je pense que c'est dificile de chercher à distance, est ce que tu as un motel ou un logement de fonction pour atterrir?
- Au niveau cours d'espagnol, j'ai fais deux cours à LP, mais j'ai oublié les noms. Par contre je te conseille vivement de t'exercer à l'espagnol au maximum avant de partir, les gens parlent peu anglais.
A part ca c'est une ville magnifique, relativement tranquille avec une culture très intéressante, surtout si tu aimes la bière, la musique et la danse :-).

La Paz c'est une ville bâtie en partie sur une cuvette; les pauvres habitent sur les hauteurs et notamment dans le quartier de El Alto ( qui est aussi une municipalité à elle toute seule)
Les plus riches habitent tout en bas parce qu'il y a moins de fraicheur.
Donc la Paz en quelque sorte c'est une ville qui est construite quasiment tout en pente.
Pour ce qui est du chauffage oui il n'y en a pas d'installé partout.

attention c'est pas comme en Europe il ne faut surtout pas se représenter la Bolivie comme l'Europe et s'imaginer arriver dans un pays facile.
La Bolivie c'est le pays le plus pauvre d'Amérique latine.
L'internet sécurisé dans les grands hôtels ou les habitations des gens riches oui..
Par contre une ville comme Santa Cruz de la Sierra qui se situe dans les terres tropicales est totalement différente.
Pour arriver dans les premiers temps Calle Sagarnaga il y a des tas de petits hôtels donc on doit pouvoir certainement négocier une chambre au mois pour pas cher.
L'inconvénient majeur de la Paz c'est de s'accoutumer à l'altitude et pouvoir respirer il ne faut pas faire des mouvements trop rapides.
A l'aéroport El Alto il y a même un service médical si on a de la peine à respirer 😉

Sinon tu as des posadas vraiment pas cher genre a 2€ , la Posada Paris de memoire, elle est bien ghetto mais bon sinon t'as des trucs un peu plus chers, pas trop sécurisés, ou alors des hotels un peu plus chers encore avec plus de securité.

Je voulais signaler les différences sociales de la ville avant tout.
Il est bien évident que pour un étranger qui va s'installer à Paris on va pas lui dire de s'installer dans la cité de la Courneuve à Paris ou dans les quartiers nord de Marseille.

Voilà, j'ai reçu un appel à la candidature pour un poste d'enseignant à La Paz en août 2011.
J'ai très envie de bouger à l'étranger mais je ne pars pas seule, je pars avec mon mari et mes deux filles de 4 et 7 ans.
je m'interroge sur la sécurité du pays et de la ville de La Paz en particulier, le site du ministère des affaires étrangères sur le sujet est plus qu'effrayant!.
Je m'interroge aussi sur les diverses maladies dues aux moustiques, en particulier pour mes filles;
Et l'altitude, ça n'a pas l'air évident de s'y habituer...

Pour répondre à vos interrogations concernant la sécurité à La Paz :
au niveau moustiques : aucun risque, avec l'altitude il y a très peu d'insecte et donc pas de risque de maladie (c'est valable pour la ville de La Paz, pas pour les zones tropicales de la Bolivie),
au niveau altitude : on s'habitue très bien. Les premiers jours sont, pour certains, un peu dur, mais on peut prendre des médicaments et après ca va très bien...Après, il faut juste pas monter les escaliers trop rapidement, on s'essouffle vite.
au niveau sécurité personnelle : c'est évident que La Paz c'est l'Amérique du Sud, c'est pas la même sécurité qu'en Europe. Je dirai qu'il y des règles à respecter : bien choisir ses taxis, éviter certains quartiers, ne pas marcher longtemps la nuit, etc. En deux ans il ne m'est jamais rien arrivé, mais il faut faire attention...
Mais surtout, la Bolivie est un pays génial, une culture très intéressante, La Paz est une ville magnifique etc... C'est une formidable expérience...
Je connais très bien La Paz, j'y retourne d'ailleurs en septembre, donc si vous avez d'autres questions je suis à disposition...
En ce qui concerne les cours d'espagnol, j'ai pris 4 semaines de cours (20h par semaine) a Cochabamba dans l'ecole de Carmen Vega (http://cochabamba.over-blog.es) et suite a ca j'etais tout a fait capable de parler et de me debrouiller pour voyager en Bolivie. Tu peux aller voir sur leur site internet, en plus l'ambiance est vraiment sympa et on apprend vite sans difficulte. En plus, Cochabamba est parfait pour s'acclimater un peu avant d'aller a La Paz, et tu as la possibilite de vivre dans une famille, ce qui est a la fois super pour pratiquer l'espagnol et se sentir rassuree. Moi aussi quand je suis arrivee je ne parlais pas un mot d'espagnol et je me sentais plus a l'aise de l'idee de venir dans une famille et dans une ecole ou en plus Jacques, le mari de Carmen, parle francais.
Bon enfin voila pour moi ca a ete une super experience, au point que je suis revenue ici pour faire du volontariat !

Perso je suis francais et j ai habité dans le quartier et suis alle à l'école primaire de El Alto! De très bons souvenirs... Et si la pauvreté vous fait peur, de toute façon en Bolivie ca ne va pas le faire!

J'aurais donc souhaité savoir si tu avais des adresses à me donner notamment pour me loger à mon arrivée à La Paz (noms d'hotels, hébergement chez l'habitant, quartiers à privilégier etc.) pas trop cher, confortable, pas trop loin de l'ambassade...
Et si de plus tu as des contacts pour des colocs sur la Paz je suis également preneuse!

After living for many years in the West (Belgium, Italy, Switzerland),
I’ve decided to return and settle in Cameroon, my home country.
Currently an entrepreneur in real estate and transport, I’m looking for a partner / partners / foundation to collaborate on an agriculture project, as I own 10 hectares of land.

If anyone knows the rates charged by movers for a crate to French Polynesia, or what pitfalls to avoid (I know you can get quotes directly from movers, but I’d love insights from actual customers😉).
