J'ai découvert par hasard ce forum et je viens pour demander des informations par rapport à un mariage à l'étranger.
J'ai l'intention de me marier au mois de février avec un homme albanais qui vit là bas et on se marierait à l'Ambassade de France.
Cela va bientôt faire un mois que j'essaye de parler au consulat et que le consulat ne me prend pas au téléphone. Je commence à être en colère car je voudrais juste avoir quelques informations sur les documents à fournir et avoir éventuellement un rendez vous avec la Consul pour déposer mon dossier et faire ma demande de CCM sachant que j'aurai des congés au mois de novembre et que je passerai une semaine là bas.
Je comprends pas comment il peut être impossible d'obtenir quelques informations ou même recevoir un simple email avec la liste des documents à fournir.
Et c'est toujours pareil, de partout où je me renseigne, on me dit d'en parler avec le consulat de France de là bas et quand j'appelle, je tombe sur la standardiste qui me dit de patienter, qu'elle va voir avec la consul (donc je sais qu'elle est là) et j'attends et au final, elle reprend la ligne et me dit la consul est débordée et ne peut pas répondre aux appels.
Mais je voudrais juste avoir la confirmation d'un rendez vous pour faire ma demande de CCM. Je travaille actuellement et je ne peux pas me permettre de prendre des congés à chaque fois. Et le mois de novembre était l'idéal car je me rendais là bas et je serais venue avec mon conjoint déposer le dossier.
J'ai peur que si ça continue et que je n'ai personne au téléphone, les choses soient retardées et que le mariage ne se fasse pas en février comme on le voudrait mais beaucoup plus tard.
Je ne comprends pas. La première fois, elle m'a répondu, m'a posé quelques questions sur comment on s'était rencontrés, et où on avait l'intention de vivre et m'a dit qu'elle m'envoyait sur mon mail la liste des documents à fournir. Je n'ai jamais vu ce mail et maintenant, elle ne me prend plus au téléphone. Et tout cela malgrès mes nombreux appels, email et message que je laisse au standard avec mon nom et mes coordonnées.
Ca commence à bien faire ! Si maintenant on galère même pour se marier, où va le monde ?

seuls deux ressortissants français peuvent se marier à l'Ambassade de France.
Ceci dit, ils devraient au moins vous donner la liste des documents à fournir ue fois que vous serez mariés devant les autorités libanaises, en vue de transcrire votre mariage à l'état-civil français.
Pour le mariage au liban, vous renseigner auprès des autorités libanaises. Et oui, c'est souvent galère pour se marier avec un étranger, ou du moins, pour le faire reconnaître.
Une personne a modifié mon titre, à moins que ce soit le modérateur. Mon conjoint n'est pas Libanais mais Albanais.
J'ai appelé une première fois, il y a un mois en arrière et la Consul m'a dit en résumé, vite fait les pièces à fournir à l'ambassade pour la demande de certificat de capacité de mariage et m'a dit qu'elle m'enverrait un mail plus précis. Elle sait que mon conjoint est albanais et m'a demandé où on aurait l'intention de vivre. J'ai répondu en France et elle m'a dit qu'il devrait faire à la suite du mariage sa demande de visa.
Mais le seul point qui m'embête c'est cette histoire de rendez vous pour déposer mes papiers d'état civil. Je pars en Albanie du 14 au 23 novembre et j'ai dit au standard que je souhaitais prendre un rdv pour venir avec mon conjoint et déposer notre dossier et la femme a pris mes coordonnées et mon message et m'a dit que la Consul m'appelerait. Mais depuis plus rien.
Alors, est ce qu'ils ont vraiment beaucoup de demandes et affectivement ne peuvent pas répondre au téléphone ou est ce que le consulat n'a pas envie de traiter mon dossier et nous décourage à ce mariage ?
Quand je vois certains témoignages, je me dis plus rien ne m'étonne maintenant.
Et j'ai pris contact avec les autorités de là bas, à l'Ambassade d'Albanie à Paris mais ils ne êuvent pas m'aider, seul le consulat de France peut me donner les renseignement.
Mais vous pouvez quand même vous marier auprès des autorités libanaises, et faire transcrire votre mariage chacun de votre côté, ou alors, pourquoi ne pas vous marier en Albanie, cela simplifiera au moins les démarches du côté de votre conjoint.
On a en effet l'intention de nous marier en Albanie. Mon conjoint ne peut pas venir en France. Mais le mariage serait célébré sous les autorités françaises (si j'ai bien compris), si c'est l'Ambassade de France à Tirana qui s'occupe de notre dossier et fait publier les bancs dans ses propres locaux et à la mairie à laquelle je dépends en France.
Après, c'est sûr, d'un point de vue administratif, je connais le minimum mais je crois que si on se marie là bas mais sous les autorités albanaises, sans l'ambassade de France qui publie nos bans, notre mariage ne sera pas valable en France. Je ne sais pas trop comment ça se passe. Car c'est sûr que ça serait plus simple pour nous de nous marier dans son pays, sous les autorités albanaises mais après le mariage est-il reconnu en France ?
Mais c'est clair qu'on voudrait faire le plus simple et faire en sorte qu'il puisse me rejoindre rapidement en France.
je ne connais pas bien les rapports avec les autorités albanaises, mais je ne vois pas pourquoi un mariage en Albanie avec un Albanais ne serait pas reconnu, de toute façon, ce n'est pas l'Ambassade de France en Albanie qui vous mariera non plus. Vous aurez un certain nombre de documents à fournir pour l'enregistgrement du mariage à l'état-civil français, peut-être il faudra vous armer de patience avant que votre mari puisse vous rejoindre, mais vous devriez y arriver.
Le dossier à constituer pour la demande de certificat de capacité à mariage comprend généralement les documents et justificatifs suivants :des fiches de renseignements remises par l’ambassade ou le consulat, dûment rempliesune copie de l’acte de naissance de chacun des conjoints, datant de moins de 3 mois (6 mois si le document a été délivré à l’Étranger avec sa traduction et sa légalisation ou apostille éventuelles)un justificatif de nationalité françaiseun justificatif de domicile ou de résidence

Autrement pour les documents, c'est vrai que ça n'a pas l'air compliqué, ils ne demandent pas grand chose finalement. Mais le plus dur, c'est de les avoir au téléphone.

oui normalement c'est possible mais il faut appelé le service d'état civil et donner la date que tu seras en Albanie, il faut insisté et présenté un justificatif (congés travail).
sinon tu peux essayé une demande de visa long séjour en vu de se marier en France avec ressortissant français et de s'y installer avant même de passer au rdv de capacité de mariage.

Il vaut mieux envoyer un e-mail, et demander la liste des docs, et pour toi, et également pour ton fiancé.

Merci pour vos conseils. Oui, c'est vrai que je peux aussi tenter de demander pour lui un visa de conjoint sur le point de se marier avec un ressortissant français. On lui a déjà refusé un simple visa touristique mais c'est vrai que cette solution est faisable aussi.
Merci pour les coordonnées de l'ambassade, j'ai essayé plusieurs fois de les contacter et j'ai envoyé des emails sans résultat. Je sais pas pourquoi du jour au lendemain, le consulat ne veut plus répondre à mes appels. Peut être j'ai dit quelque chose qu'il ne fallait pas, mais quoi ? Je commence de plus en plus à douter et à me dire qu'on ne veut pas traiter mon dossier. C'est vrai que quand elle m'a poser la question où est ce qu'on avait envie de vivre, j'ai dit en France, alors peut être qu'ils craignent que c'est pour les papiers. Mais si c'est ça, ils ont qu'à nous recevoir au moins pour une audition et là ils pourront juger. Et puis de toute façon mon conjoint et moi, nous sommes sûrs de nous et ce que nous voulons alors si une personne vient à douter ou à suspecter un mariage blanc, c'est qu'il y a vraiment un soucis car nous sommes très amoureux l'un de l'autre et désirons à tout prix vivre ensemble. Alors si ils veulent nous faire attendre pour qu'on se décourage et laisse tomber, ça n'est pas prêt d'arriver puisqu'on ne laissera pas tomber.

Tu t'es lancé dans un vrai "parcours du combattant", vous ne pouvez pas vous
marier au consulat de France car tu n'es pas résidente du pays, sinon vous pouvez vous marier en Albanie (hors consulat) mais les bans doivent etre publiés dans la mairie de ton domicile en France pour que ce mariage puisse être validé par la suite, et là il y aura une enquete car forcement ils suspecteront le mariage blanc.
De toute façon vous ne pourrez pas vous marier en France.

Il ne faut pas confondre mariage au consulat, qui ne peut être célébré qu'entre deux français, et publication des bans, si l'un des deux conjoints est français, et réside effectivement en Albanie.
Oui je parlais de la publication des bancs en fait. donc mariage en albanie juste "signalé" au consulat pour le faire enteriner dans l'etat civil français comme cest demandé de la faire en cas de mariage avec un etranger. J'arrive pas z savoir ce qui est plus sumple sachant que si on se mari en france via son visa court sejour de 3mois ensuite il doit retourner en albanie pour demander un visa long sejour au consulat et ca peut etre tres long...

I’m planning a trip from France to Alberta/British Columbia, and I’m unsure about which bank card to use for the security deposit with the rental company (I’m thinking of going with AVIS).
I contacted Avis Canada, and they told me a credit card is absolutely required. I asked my bank for a credit card (a *real* credit card), but they only offered me a deferred debit card.
My question: For a rental with Avis Canada, is a Gold International Mastercard deferred debit card usable for the security deposit needed to finalize the rental? Is the "CREDIT" label enough? (Some cards say "CREDIT" and others say "CARTE DE CREDIT"—seems minor, but it’s actually a big deal in how the card works.)
I’ve seen conflicting info everywhere I look... My bank says it’s *usually* okay (the deferred debit card), while Avis Canada insists it *must* be a credit card, not debit—even when I mention the deferred debit card.
I know the whole credit card concept is already confusing, and on top of that, some sites say a deferred debit card counts as a credit card, while others say it doesn’t.

I’ll explain my situation.
Unfortunately, I lost my passport, and I only realized it two weeks before my departure for a humanitarian mission in Libya. I’m a nurse, and this mission really means a lot to me.
First, I applied for an emergency passport, but it was denied by the Val-d'Oise prefecture on the grounds that a planned humanitarian mission wasn’t considered an urgent reason.
So, I submitted a biometric passport application on July 20th. Since then, the tracking has been stuck, and the town hall can’t (or won’t) give me any clear information. Every time I call, I get a different story. The last update I received was that the passport had been produced since July 23rd with a status of "about to be shipped," but nothing since then.
I’ve managed to push my departure back to next Tuesday at the latest, but I’m starting to really panic.
Have any of you submitted an application around July 20th, especially in Val-d'Oise (95)? How long did you wait between the passport being produced and it being available at the town hall? Is it normal for this step to take this long?
This mission means so much to me. I had everything organized, and I’m also supposed to attend a friend’s wedding right after near the border.

I’m a bit embarrassed because I need to travel to Quebec from February 27th to March 13th. I’m a regular visitor to Canada—this will be my 10th trip since 1997, plus a year as a permanent resident (2000–2001) and a cross-country run from Vancouver to Halifax in 2011. So, I’m definitely not a terrorist!
But since our last trip in July 2015, they’ve introduced this eTA thing. Seems more like a way to make money than to actually secure Canada, if you ask me, but anyway, that’s not the point.
I applied for an eTA for myself, my wife, and our two kids. They all got approved within hours, but not me! I was asked to create a GC key and then an IRCC account, which I did. Normally, you get news within 72 hours, but since Monday, January 15th, nothing!
In the "message" section of the account, it says "explanation letter (required)" with a deadline of January 25th, but I can’t find any explanation anywhere—despite searching the Canadian government website and Google. No links, nothing!
I’ve emailed them but haven’t heard back yet. I’m thinking of calling the Canadian embassy in Paris tomorrow. Even though I’m not stressing yet, it’d be a bummer if everyone else got to go without me!
If anyone’s had this issue before or knows what this explanation letter is about, I’d love to hear more.

I’ve tried my hotel, the Lotte Hotel (which is well-known in Seoul), the airport—basically, I’ve entered at least 20 addresses, all rejected....

I bought a one-way flight (Ryanair) and a return flight (EasyJet) to spend a week in Morocco in April.
My passport expires 3 weeks after the return date.
Some websites say the passport must be valid for 3 months at the time of entry.
However, it will still be valid both on entry and return, but its validity will only be 1 month at the time of entry (and 3 weeks on the return date, everything prepaid).
It's an individual family trip.
The consulate can't give me an answer—they're still looking into it (really!)
Last year, we stayed for 3 months in Thailand, north of Khao Lak, and were able to benefit from the 2-month visa exemption, renewable for one month by going to Takua Pa to validate a 1-month extension (1,900 baht).
This year, it’s a disaster for us—not only were we planning a 4-month stay, adding a visa run in between (which some say is quite risky), but the law is apparently changing in the coming months with the return of the 1-month exemption (plus the usual 1-month option). So, we looked into applying for a 6-month multiple-entry visa, allowing a maximum of 60 consecutive days in Thailand. However, I can’t find anywhere the minimum time required outside Thailand between two stays—do any of you have an idea?

As a French national, I need to obtain a short-stay visa that can be converted to a long-stay one. To do this, I have to send the required documents to the Madagascar embassy in Paris.
No issues with that procedure so far.
If I get this visa, once I arrive in Madagascar, I’ll need to provide the same documents to the Ministry of the Interior in Anosy. I’m trying to find an email address or website for the Ministry to check which documents I need to submit (I think they ask for additional ones).

I’d like to know if anyone has already applied for a private visa to Russia with an invitation from a Russian resident.
I traveled earlier this year with an e-visa, but since I want to stay longer, I’ll be visiting my friend who lives in eastern Russia.
For the visa application, does the invitation need to be on an official paper form issued by the Russian ministry? And most importantly, do I need to present the original for the application, or is there an electronic version that can be sent directly to the consulate in France?

I filled out the B2 form to apply for a visa, created an account on Atvis to pay the visa fees and schedule a meet-up, but every time I try to pay with my Boursobank Visa 1st card, they refuse the payment with a message telling me to check my details (address), even though everything is correct. Does anyone know why this is happening, or maybe they don’t accept Visa cards? Are you aware of this?

There are rumors going around about the ETA: it must absolutely be on your smartphone in the "ETA" app.
Paper documents might not be accepted.

I’ve read that China may ask for proof of exit within 30 days (flight ticket or other reservation). Since we’d be leaving by land, I’m wondering how this works in practice.

My wife and I are heading to the US.
On her ticket, it only has her maiden name (e.g., Martine DUPOND).
On her passport, it’s written as Martine DUPOND épouse AVRY.
No issues for travel, I hope I did the right thing with the ticket?
Then for the ESTA, is just Martine DUPOND enough, or do I need to include the "épouse AVRY" part like on the passport?

I saw on the French Embassy in Peru’s website and the Peruvian Consulate in Paris’s site that the rule is to have a passport valid for 6 months *after the arrival date* (not the return date).
I arrive in Peru on August 13, 2019 (for about twelve days), and my passport is valid until February 16, 2020.
That’s 6 months and 3 days after my arrival date in Peru. In my opinion, I’m good to go.
But could I still be denied entry if they say I don’t cover the return date or that I’m too close to the 6-month mark?
I read on the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs website that it’s possible to apply for a temporary driving permit in China, valid for 1 month.
I’m planning to rent a car (without a driver) to explore part of the country next August, so I was wondering:
