en février dernier, j'ai loué très facilement un scooter à Moulmein (je ne me souviens plus du prix, mais c'était très raisonnable).
Il y a un loueur sur la rue qui longe le fleuve, pas très loin du restaurant "Help Grandfather and Mother" en remontant vers le marché.
Par ailleurs, à Moulmein, je dormais au Cinderella Hotel (35 dollars) que je conseille très fortement. Un des meilleurs rapport qualité prix de Birmanie.
Au cas où, la liaison en bateau entre Moulmein et Hpa-An a été rétablie, mais uniquement avec des bateaux "touristiques". Un bateau par jour le matin, pour un prix que j'ai aussi oublié, mais qui me semblait également très raisonnable.

Je suis ravie d'apprendre qu'il est a present possible de louer des scooters a Moulmein car mes dernieres experiences dans le delta vers les plages de Chaungta etaient bien differentes, on ne voulait absilument pas me louer un scooter. Avec driver OK mais il etait oblige de declarer le matin ou nous allions et repasser le soir a cette cabane en bois style office de tourisme, pour signaler que nous etions bien rentres.
J'avais quand , eme pu louer un velo...!!

Une autre fois pour presque rien (de mémoire autour de 4 ou 5 euros la journée pour un scoot tout neuf) via "Mr George", juste de l'autre côté de la route face au Shwe Hinn Tha Beach Hotel. Et qui ressemble à la description d'une cabane en bois avec Tourist Information écrit en gros dessus. Le jeune Birman qui fait tourner cette affaire est très sympa, donnant plein de conseils et d'idées de balades. Avec des prix vraiment très bas

Je confirme, venant juste de rentrer de Birmanie. A noter un super petit déjeuner qui ne se borne pas aux sempiternels toast, beurre/confiture, mais également des spécialités bamars et des fruits. De plus cette maison d'hôtes est située dans une rue tranquille...
C'est vraiment complètement aléatoire. Vous pouvez avoir 2 jours de flotte qusi non-stop, du crachin, des orages tropicaux et puis pendant 2 jours presque rien. Par contre fait gris tout le temps 🙁
je n'ai pas le souvenir d'en avoir vu là bas donc je dirai non. C'est scooter comme dans toute l'asie. Après je n'ai pas visité toute la birmanie et je n'ai pas fait attention à ce type de véhicule donc....

Je reviens de Birmanie et je peux dire que je ne n'ai vu aucun scooters, mais des motos de petit calibre en masse. Et attention, la plupart des conducteurs n'ont pas de permis et c'est un enfer pour les automobilistes qui doivent avoir des yeux tout autour de la tête en prévision des manoeuvres irréfléchies des motards.
Quant à Yangon, la circulation et le nombre de voitures ont tout simplement explosés et comme je le disais dans un de mes précédents postes, il faut compter plus de 3 heures pour se rendre à l'aéroport depuis le centre de la ville.
Quant aux 2 roues, il sont présents partout dans la ville
3 heures si le vol est dans les heures de pointes (de 7h à 10h et de 16h-16h30 à 18h parfois plus tard).
Le Flyover sur Pyay Road à tout de même un peu amélioré les choses mais il reste des points noirs, les ronds points auquels vous pouvez attendre des dizaines de minutes, sans compter le carrefour avec Dama Zhedi qui est une véritable catastrophe et la, ca peut prendre 1 heure pour le passer, surtout si vous êtes sur U Wisara.

et ceci d'autant plus que les conducteurs pour la plupart ne respectent pas la priorité de ces ronds points d'où une circulation anarchique et chaotique !
Dans le région de Moulmein on a aussi loué une moto, ce n'est pas réglementé en tout cas cela ne l'était pas. Le "loueur" a téléphoné à un copain et le moto est arrivée😕 Peu de circulation dans cette région et donc pas vraiment de problême, nous avons passé un genre de poste contrôle sans devoir nous arrêter, on a fait comme les autres motards... A Hpa an, cela doit être aussi possible mais quand même notre tuk tuk local est passé par des endroits bien difficiles.
Par contre il semble que cela soit interdit dans la région de Inle d'après une petite guide locale. En fait se déplacer à vélo à Inle est très facile. Du côté de Bagan, il y a aussi des vélos mais parfois difficile de rouler dans le sable alors les motos... Mais il y en avait plutôt conduites par des locaux et sur les routes principales peu fréquentées, elles aussi.

Je reviens justement de Hpa An et de Moulmein et j'ai été stupéfaite du nombre de motos dans tous les coins. La plupart des conducteurs ne connaissent pas le code de la route, roulent sans permis et avec de fausses plaques. SUivant les endroits, il faut être très prudent, surtout en voiture, les motards déboulant de tous les côtés, seuls au monde, sans se soucier des voitures, bus et camions.
En à peine 6 mois! La Birmanie va vite... Tant mieux pour eux. J'espère qu'ils ont encore beaucoup de chemin avant de trouver les conditions de circulation comme en Inde.
Réservé à la police principalement et à certains officiels. Cependant il me semble avoir vu des étrangers en moto une fois mais ils sont passé tellement vite que je n'ai pas pu les identifier clairement.
Aux dires de certains locaux, la moto n'était pas spécialement populaire à Yangon et ce même avant l'interdiction. En tout cas bien moins utilisée qu'à Mandalay et sans atteindre les records d'Hanoi!

I’m planning a motorcycle road trip to Armenia and Georgia in September 2026 or May 2027. I’m looking for one or more riders (male or female) who’d like to explore these countries with me.
Along the way, we’ll visit Cappadocia, the capitals Yerevan, Tbilisi, Sofia, Skopje, and other cities—we can finalize the route and roadbook later.
This trip requires experience with long motorcycle journeys, as we’ll cover around 7,000 km over 5 or 6 weeks (or more, depending on sightseeing and time spent).
I don’t expect dozens of applicants, since motorcycle riders are few and far between on this forum, but I’m putting this out there anyway.
I’m starting to think about a trip that’s really close to my heart: Algeria by motorcycle, specifically the southern part of the country. It’d be for January 2025, and I’ve got two main questions:
Is it possible for an individual on a motorcycle to travel freely, outside of any organized tour, or does the regulation require some kind of supervision in the Algerian Sahara region?
Is the Hoggar massif accessible by road or by (rideable) tracks?
Beyond the official recommendations, I’m really looking for your firsthand experiences.

Why not explore the Peloponnese!
I’m not particularly drawn to museums, ruins, or monuments.
I want to experience local life—small villages, seaside spots, beaches, and the interior if the landscapes are extraordinary.
Ideally, coming from Athens, I’d take a bus or train to get as close as possible to a starting point, then rent a scooter (125cc) to explore by taking secondary roads or even coastal paths. I’d stay in 2-3 places for a few days each to discover their surroundings.

What do you think would be the ideal itinerary?
From Athens, the best option would be to take either a flight or a bus to Kalamata. Rent a scooter and head either west or east. Is there a tertiary road (very lightly trafficked) or a path where I can ride slowly, take it easy, and enjoy the scenery without being bothered by traffic? I’d like to go all the way to Monemvasia, still hugging the coast. I need to find a way to avoid returning to Kalamata to drop off the scooter and catch a flight—maybe a small town where the train stops so I can head back to Athens.

How do you get visas for the countries I’ll be crossing: Uruguay, Argentina, Bolivia, Peru, and Chile? Are they e-Visas, obtained at the border, or through embassies?
Where can I get vehicle insurance?

I’ve got 15 days off in June and I’m pretty undecided about where to go for a motorcycle road trip. Two strong desires are pulling me in different directions: Corsica or Norway.
Corsica has been a dream of mine for a long time: legendary roads, stunning landscapes, a unique vibe, and the perfect mix of sea and mountains. At the same time, I’m wondering if 2 weeks might be *too much* for Corsica—risking feeling like I’ve seen it all too quickly, especially on a bike.
Since I also have an extra week free in May, I could use that specifically for Corsica. Maybe splitting it into two trips would make more sense? If so, which routes or regions would be the most interesting to plan for a 7-day trip?
On the other hand, Norway is *super* appealing. The landscapes look incredible, totally different from anything I’ve experienced, and it’d be a real “wow” trip. I know 15 days is still short for such a vast country. Getting all the way to the North Cape seems pretty much impossible in that time, but I’m curious about what realistic routes could be planned.
So I’m wondering:
Is it better to save Norway for next year, take 3 weeks off, and do it *properly*?
Or are 15 days enough for a first amazing taste of the country?
I’d love to hear about your experiences—whether it’s Corsica (ideal duration, routes) or Norway (what’s realistic in 2 weeks on a bike).

Hello! We’re planning a motorcycle trip that will include a visit to Auschwitz-Birkenau in June 2026.
We’re unsure (still debating) whether we should stay at a hotel on-site and get to the memorial with an Uber (leaving our bikes at the hotel) and book a guided tour, or base ourselves in Kraków and take a tour that includes transport.
One thing’s for sure—we’d prefer a guide in French since we don’t speak English 😅.

Unfortunately, I’m worried that parts of the N630 may have disappeared or merged with the A66 motorway, forcing us to ride long stretches of highway, which we’d rather avoid.

We’ve rented two Royal Enfield 450s.
This is our first motorcycle trip in Morocco. I got my license two years ago with the dream of taking this kind of trip, and here we are! ✌️😍
In France, we usually ride between 300 to 400 km per day on roadsters. We’re not used to off-road tracks, so we’re looking for easy ones 😅—especially for me 😅.
For Morocco, I’ve planned stages of 200 to 300 km per day.
Here’s the idea:
Day 1 (departure at noon): Marrakech - Tizi n Test - Tafingoult (165 km - 4h15)
Day 2: Tafingoult - Amzarkou - Telouet (200 km - 4h34)

Day 7: El Ksiba - La Cathédrale - Zaouiat Ahansal (212 km - 4h20)
