J'ai passé l'année scolaire 2012-2013 à Los Angeles pour mes études avec un visa F1. Lors de cette année là je me suis mis en coloc en cours d'année avec des étudiants de mon université (à partir d'octobre). Nous avions signé un contrat pour un appartement d'octobre 2012 à juillet 2013.
Le problème c'est que les choses ont mal tournées dans notre colocation: disputes, bagarres, dégradation, vols (passeport, argent, carte bleue, ordinateur). Je me suis rendu compte que c'était des gens à problèmes et j'ai donc décidé de quitter cette endroit pour vivre ailleurs. L'ennui c'est que je n'ai vécu que 2 mois dans cet appart' alors qu'il restait 8 mois de contrat. Et le pire c'est qu'après mon départ mes anciens coloc ont subitement arrêté de payer le loyer, ce qui a créé beaucoup de problèmes avec la sécurité et l'administration de notre résidence. Après plusieurs rendez-vous avec les agents immobilier et le personnel administratif, personne n'a pu régler mon cas.
J'ai l'intention de repartir à LA début 2016 et j'appréhende le retour, je ne voudrais pas avoir de gros ennuis à cause de ça.
Avez-vous des solutions ????

Je ne comprends pas bien la phrase. Est-ce que vous avez des lettres de l'agent immobilier et du personnel administratif qui vous demandaient de payer votre loyer ? Jusqu'ou sont-ils allé pour récuperer leur argent ? Vous ont-ils attaqué en justice ?
Est-ce que vous même aviez signé un bail (a lease)?

Quand j'ai appris (par un ami) que mes anciens colocataires ne payaient plus le loyer, je suis allé au moins 3 fois au leasing office pour le signaler. bien entendu ils étaient déjà au courant et étaient en attente du paiement.
J'ai reçu plusieurs email du personnel me disant qu'il fallait payer le loyer. Je leur ai expliqué mon cas en leur proposant de payer ma part (c'est à dire en divisant le loyer par 4 car je ne voulais pas payer pour les autres) et ainsi mon nom aurait pu être retiré du lease. Ils m'ont dit que ce n'était pas possible, ils voulaient la totalité de la somme, et s'ils ne l'avaient pas ils étaient en droit de nous amener jusqu'au tribunal. Ils m'ont donner des adresses d'avocats pour que je puisse attaquer mes anciens colocataires en justice, mais en tant qu'étudiant étranger je n'avais pas les moyens de faire appel à un avocat. Ils ont même entamer une procédure d'expulsion à l'encontre de mes colocataires. Le problème est que je dois être fiché avec eux étant donné que mon nom figurait toujours sur le "leasing contract".
PS: Je n'ai jamais reçu de convocation au tribunal.

Pourquoi aurais-tu des ennuis? À moins de croiser dans la rue l'une des personnes de l'administration de ce logement, ce qui serait tout de même une immense coïncidence, je ne vois pas comment tu pourrais avoir des ennuis puisque j'imagine que tu n'as pas l'intention de relouer ce logement là-bas??
Je ne vois pas vraiment où est le problème...

Je ne pense pas que tu aies des problèmes puisque tu n'as reçu de convocation pour te presenter au tribunal. En général les propriétaires vont au "small claims court" pour recuperer leur loyer. Tous les locataires sont avertis par courrier.
Tu avais sans doute payer un "security deposit" quand tu as emmenagé et le proprietaire a gardé le "deposit".
Ce genre de choses arrivent souvent avec des co-locations. Il faut bien savoir que chaque locataire est responsible du loyer entier.
Lorsque j'étais encore à Los Angeles, une des secrétaires du leasing office m'a dit qu'une plainte de leur part avait était déposée contre nous pour non paiement du loyer avant la date limite. donc je pense que je suis fiché (à moins que mes anciens colocataires aient fini par payer ce qu'ils devaient, étant donné qu'ils habitaient toujours dans cet appartement, mais cela m'étonnerait).

Ton histoire n'a rien à voir avec la douane ni les autorités frontalières. Strictement rien à voir! Ce n'est pas leur travail de courir après les gens qui ne paient pas leur loyer 😇
Ne pas payer son loyer n'est pas un crime, c'est un litige civil avec un proprio, rien de plus 😉

Être propriétaire comporte des risques, dont celui de ne pas recevoir le loyer dû. C'est un risque que tout proprio doit assumer dès le départ, et il le sait. C'est pourquoi les deposits existent, c'est une forme de sécurité (limitée, mais sécurité quand même).
Tu avais proposé une solution, celle de payer ta part, cela a été refusé (car évidemment ils veulent tout le total et accepter un montant moindre revient à dire qu'ils abandonnent la partie impayée, leur réaction était normale.)
Il n'y a rien que tu puisses faire, si ce n'est que de payer le loyer au complet, ce que tu ne feras pas, et avec raison. C'est de l'histoire ancienne tout ça, tu ne devrais plus t'en préoccuper.

I’ve decided to return and settle in Cameroon, my home country.
