nous partons bientot pour un petit periple de plus au vietnam dans 3 semaines en sac a dos sans agence...mais il nous manque les visas, aussi apres m etre renseigne des prix aupres de actions-visas (assez eleves d ailleurs) il ma ete dit que cetait possible de passer par une agence locale au vietnam pour beneficier d un prix plus interessant!!! donc je suis preneur de tous vos conseils et experiences!!!!!

j'avais le même questionnement (en plus je reste 6 sem + visa multiples entrées car petite virée au Cambodge = 150 euros !!) mais mon ami qui vit à Hanoi m'a dit que le prix proposé par l'Ambassade du Vietnam est normal. Le visa vietnamien est cher par rapport à d'autres mais le niveau de vie est tellement plus bas qu'il faut bien qu'ils s'y retrouvent.😉
Il ne faut pas passer par des intermédiaires car ils prennent leur com., c'est logique ; j'avais fait le comparatif.
Les prix que j'avais relevé en janvier (tél en direct à l'Ambassade) c'était 68 euros environ pour 3 semaines (au-delà de 3 sem c'est 90 euros).
Le mieux est de téléphoner à l'Ambassade et de leur poser les questions. Il m'ont même envoyé le formulaire sur ma boite car celui que tu télécharges sur leur site n'est pas valable (curieux d'ailleurs !)
Le délai est d'une semaine.
Il est ensuite possible de procéder par courrier mais moi je ne l'ai pas fait car j'habite en banlieue Paris.

Le visa pour le vietnam n'est pas pour 3 semaines, mais pour 30 jours de date à date. Et à Paris, tu obtiens ton visa en 1 semaine. Donc, n'hésites pas à faire ton visa avant de partir, cela t'évitera des soucis.
J'arrive a HCMville la semaine prochaine et je compte acheter mon visa a l'aeroport en arrivant. J'imagine que ca doit etre simple. Est-ce complique ? Que gagne-t-on a passer par une agence ? Combien paye-t-n de commission ?
Tu crois que c'est simple d'aéoir un visa pour aller au Vietnam, c'est comme pour la Chine !!!!
C'est évident quand tu achètes un billet d'avion pris pour une destination on s'occupe du visa.

Si vous voulez acheter un visa à l'aéroport, vous devez avoir un numéro d'agrément démandé par une agence de voyage locale, ce sera simple et rapide. Au contraire, vous n'en avez pas, ce sera compliqué.
Je ne sais pas combien de commission que vous devez payer à l'agence, mais le frais de service de demande d'agrément est entre 25 et 30 $ + 25 $ payable à votre arrivée aux autorités.
J'ai trouve une agence qui s'en occupe pour 39 usd (delai de 24 heures). C'est cher mais je n'ai guere le choix.
Personnellement, je pense que quand on n'a pas le choix, on peut tenter de passer par une agence locale. Mais je me demande si c'est une solution sure ou sinon élégante, car lorsque l'on fait appel à une agence de voyage locale, on est peut-être censé de recourir à leur service pour les tours de visite?
Et lorsque l'on a tout le temps de le faire par une ambassade, il vaut mieux recourir à cette solution, même si cela coute quelques dizaines de dollars en plus.
Je rappelle que le visa à l'aéroport a été fait à destination des familles qui doivent rentrer en urgence au VietNam pour rendre visite à leur proche gravement malade ou décédé. Les agences locales qui procèdent de cette manière en dehors de ces circonstances exceptionnelles contournent le réglement. Si cela est toléré en général, un jour ou l'autre cela peut en être autrement pour peu qu'un événément grave quelconque soit survenu subitement, au niveau de la sureté de l'Etat.
Le visa doit être demandé à l'ambassade ou à défaut au consulat qui procède à une enquête aussi succinte qu'il soit pour être sur que vous n'êtes pas indésirable au VietNam.
Pour l'instant, les japonnais, et les résidents de nationalité scandinave (Danemark, Suède, Finlande) sont exempts de visa pour un séjour inférieur de 15 jours.
Je crois que ces jours derniers, les Chinois qui rendent visite au VietNam par voie aérienne sont aussi exempts de visa (pour la date exacte je ne sais pas).
Bref, quand vous pouvez, ne recourez pas au système D. ça peut vous couter le billet d'avion AR si vous êtes refoulé.
Personnellement, j'aimerais bien ne plus avoir affaire à une demande de visa. Sur un coup de tête, je prends un billet AR pour passer quelque jour sur une plage vietnamienne. Une semaine au VietNam me reviendra moins cher qu'une semaine en Corse

L'agence m'a offert de reserver des hotels, rien de plus.
J'ajouterais qu'en fait, si vous arrivez en avion directement au Vietnam, il est douteux que la compagnie vous laisse monter sans visa, car si vous êtes refoulés à la frontière, c'est cette même compagnie qui vous rapatriera, à ses frais.
D'autre part, le visa vietnamien est l'objet d'un intense traffic et au Cambodge, par agence, on le touche a 31 dollars. Il est toujours plus cher directement dans les ambassades. Mais si vous arrivez directement au vietnam, ca ne vous laisse pas vraiment le choix.

Le problème est que sur la foi du fax attestant que le visa sera attribué à l'arrivée, la cie peut vous laisser monter dans l'avion mais le service d'immigration à la frontière peut vous refouler pour x raisons de non conformité (ex : vous n'avez pas de membre de famille qui soit en danger de mort pour que vous rentrez au pays de cette façon, donc vous avez menti !) et on ne peut rien avec un pot de terre contre un pot de fer.
On peut évoquer que par votre faute et non la faute de la compagnie, votre billet servira pour votre retour ...
Pour agrementer encore la situation, je n'ai qu'un billet aller, car je veux rentre par le train Hanoi-Pekin, dont on ne peut pas acheter le billet en Chine. Je n'ai lu nulle part qu'un billet aller-retour etait exige.
J'espère que tout se passe bien quand même. Ce serait dommage qu'un tel incident puisse vous arriver et cela vous fait du tort autant que pour le pays.
Un simple conseil de connaisseur (et non pas par pensée discriminatoire), ayez une tenue vestimentaire impeccable et un sourire aux lèvres, ça aide beaucoup au VietNam, dont l'apparence a une certaine importance.
Une fois la frontière traversée, vous pouvez vous mettre à l'aise comme vous avez envie.
Après contact, Tatitam donne l'émail d'une agence qui demande 30 $ pour avoir l'habilitation alors que d'autres agences et hôtels (correspondants francophones ) demandent entre 10 et 18 $ sans payer d'avance mais à l'arrivée plus les 25$ à la douane. Parfois ils demandent la photocopie du passeport évidemment mais, comme je n'ai pas testé, je ne donne pas les adresses mails.
Mais en ce moment action visa fait une pub pour une baisse de 26 euros par personne sur ces prestations et les frais d'AR sont offerts soit 60€ par un visa touriste d'1 mois/1 entrée.
Fort étonné d'autant qu'un autre lien ne l’indiquait pas, j'ai vérifié en téléphonant mais ils ne disent pas jusqu'à quelle date :

On voit bien que tu as payé le même prix que si tu passes par les voies normales de l'ambassade, avec une décharge d'adrénaline en plus.

Tu es aussi au bien courant que si tu etais deja ici ! Je n'avais jamais vu un tel embouteillage de ma vie : 1h30 sans bouger. On a tous fini par sortir du bus et rentrer a pieds. Et meme a pieds il fallait pousser les velos et motos sur le trottoir. Eux aussi etaient bloques. J'en ai compte 11 rangees en plus des bagnoles sur une moitie de la chaussee.
Effectivement Vietnam Airlines m'a change 2 fois de vol pour hier 30 (j'avais pourtant paye cher) et j'ai demande a partir aujourd'hui lundi. Je prolonge mon sejour a Saigon de jour en jour. Et si ca doit durer encore, pas grave. Je me plais bien a Saigon. Je suis dans un hotel sympa du centre, calme la nut 27$ la chambre superieure.
bon tout d abord! un grand merci a tous pour avoir pris la peine de s interesser a ma question!!! pour ce qui est du visa grace au renseignement d un "forumeur" jai trouve une agence qui m a delivre la fameuse autorisation ou habilitation nous permettant d embarquer et de faire les visas a l arrivee!!! envoye par mail je l ai imprime et je la presenterai lors de l embarquement et a l arrivee egalement au service des douanes! voila pour ce qui est des nouvelles! cette modalite nous coute 18 usd payables a l agence a l arrivee + les 25 usd aux services des visas bien evidemment!!! reste plus qu a embarquer jeudi soir de roissy!!!!!

Heu ... notre itinéraire n'est pas encore totalement défini. L'idée c'est d'aller : en 1er à Hanoi (j'ai un copain français d'origine vn qui y vit), y passer un peu de temps, avec Baie d'Halong of course ! boucle dans le nord : Sapa et Cao Bang où on aura peut être la chance de vivre qq jours dans la famille du copain. Ce sont des paysans qui vivent dans les montagnes. Mais ça ne dépend pas de moi. retour Hanoi pour prendre un avion pour Siem Reap et visite des temples d'Angkor avec Pass de 3 jours. retour Vietnam par bateau (le Mékong, ça semble magique) et bus en descendant le Mékong puis Saigon pour qq jours, ensuite on espère faire la remontée vers Hanoi par le train le plus possible, histoire d'éviter les touristes occidentaux dans les stop bus et autres transports de touristes.
Les arrêts se feront à : Phan Thiet, plage plus tranquille que Nha Trang il paraît (c'est bien pour les + vieux !) Nha Trang (obligée la plage plus touristique avec 3 ados), Hoi An, Danang ? Hué et enfin, Ninh Binh et retour Hanoi pour l'avion du départ.
On dispose de 6 semaines sur place mais le programme est déjà bien chargé. Il est possible qu'on zappe soit une des villes du nord ou bien on passera peu de temps à HCM. On n'a pas l'intention de se presser ni de stresser pour tout voir.
On réservera le train au jour le jour en fonction des rencontres, des envies, etc...
On cherchera des petits hôtels ou GH ; c'est bien dommage que l'accueil chez l'habitant ne soit pas encore répandu car c'est là qu'on partage vraiment la vie des locaux.
Voilà, je pars avec mes grandes filles et une amie (5 filles en tout !) début juillet. Je ne connais pas du tout cette région (sauf Malaisie et Indonésie en 2000) et je "pompe" le max de conseils sur les forums.
Je ne manquerai de faire profiter les autres de mon expérience au retour.

ça commence déjà dans le village de Ta Van près de Sapa, vous pouvez vous faire accueillir, seul ou en groupe chez les habitants et participent à leur vie pour un jour, pour une semaine ou pour un mois.
Cette forme de tourisme est encouragée par les autorités et la population est de plus en plus formée pour accueillir des voyageurs.

I have two questions about applying for a Non-Immigrant O Visa at the Thai embassy in France for someone over 50:
- - Do I need to provide the address(es) of stay in Thailand (hotels, staying with a Thai friend)?
- - Financial proof: Is a retirement statement showing over 2,000 € per month sufficient, or are bank statements also required?

The flight I’ve spotted: arrival at BKK and return to France 31 days later.
With the new regulations/visa:
"Starting September 15, 2026, French nationals holding an ordinary passport will be able to stay in Thailand visa-free for up to 30 days for tourism purposes only, down from the previous 60 days."
How do you think the counting is done?
- Number of days spent in Thai territory?
- Entry and exit dates: number of days between the two?
I’m leaning toward the first option, but to avoid any administrative hassles with Thailand (fines, etc.) and before booking my ticket, your input would really help.

I’m planning a trip from France to Alberta/British Columbia, and I’m unsure about which bank card to use for the security deposit with the rental company (I’m thinking of going with AVIS).
I contacted Avis Canada, and they told me a credit card is absolutely required. I asked my bank for a credit card (a *real* credit card), but they only offered me a deferred debit card.
My question: For a rental with Avis Canada, is a Gold International Mastercard deferred debit card usable for the security deposit needed to finalize the rental? Is the "CREDIT" label enough? (Some cards say "CREDIT" and others say "CARTE DE CREDIT"—seems minor, but it’s actually a big deal in how the card works.)
I’ve seen conflicting info everywhere I look... My bank says it’s *usually* okay (the deferred debit card), while Avis Canada insists it *must* be a credit card, not debit—even when I mention the deferred debit card.
I know the whole credit card concept is already confusing, and on top of that, some sites say a deferred debit card counts as a credit card, while others say it doesn’t.

I’ll explain my situation.
Unfortunately, I lost my passport, and I only realized it two weeks before my departure for a humanitarian mission in Libya. I’m a nurse, and this mission really means a lot to me.
First, I applied for an emergency passport, but it was denied by the Val-d'Oise prefecture on the grounds that a planned humanitarian mission wasn’t considered an urgent reason.
So, I submitted a biometric passport application on July 20th. Since then, the tracking has been stuck, and the town hall can’t (or won’t) give me any clear information. Every time I call, I get a different story. The last update I received was that the passport had been produced since July 23rd with a status of "about to be shipped," but nothing since then.
I’ve managed to push my departure back to next Tuesday at the latest, but I’m starting to really panic.
Have any of you submitted an application around July 20th, especially in Val-d'Oise (95)? How long did you wait between the passport being produced and it being available at the town hall? Is it normal for this step to take this long?
This mission means so much to me. I had everything organized, and I’m also supposed to attend a friend’s wedding right after near the border.

I’m a bit embarrassed because I need to travel to Quebec from February 27th to March 13th. I’m a regular visitor to Canada—this will be my 10th trip since 1997, plus a year as a permanent resident (2000–2001) and a cross-country run from Vancouver to Halifax in 2011. So, I’m definitely not a terrorist!
But since our last trip in July 2015, they’ve introduced this eTA thing. Seems more like a way to make money than to actually secure Canada, if you ask me, but anyway, that’s not the point.
I applied for an eTA for myself, my wife, and our two kids. They all got approved within hours, but not me! I was asked to create a GC key and then an IRCC account, which I did. Normally, you get news within 72 hours, but since Monday, January 15th, nothing!
In the "message" section of the account, it says "explanation letter (required)" with a deadline of January 25th, but I can’t find any explanation anywhere—despite searching the Canadian government website and Google. No links, nothing!
I’ve emailed them but haven’t heard back yet. I’m thinking of calling the Canadian embassy in Paris tomorrow. Even though I’m not stressing yet, it’d be a bummer if everyone else got to go without me!
If anyone’s had this issue before or knows what this explanation letter is about, I’d love to hear more.

I’m heading to Seoul in September, and to do that I need to get a travel authorization that we apply for through K-ETA....... turns out I can (barely, I admit) fill out the form up to the address of our "stay location," but every address I’ve entered has been rejected by the system. I’ve tried my hotel, the Lotte Hotel (which is well-known in Seoul), the airport—basically, I’ve entered at least 20 addresses, all rejected....
So, to anyone who’s successfully gotten the authorization, could you tell me which address you used to get that "elusive" approval?...

I bought a one-way flight (Ryanair) and a return flight (EasyJet) to spend a week in Morocco in April.
My passport expires 3 weeks after the return date.
Some websites say the passport must be valid for 3 months at the time of entry.
However, it will still be valid both on entry and return, but its validity will only be 1 month at the time of entry (and 3 weeks on the return date, everything prepaid).
It's an individual family trip.
The consulate can't give me an answer—they're still looking into it (really!)
Last year, we stayed for 3 months in Thailand, north of Khao Lak, and were able to benefit from the 2-month visa exemption, renewable for one month by going to Takua Pa to validate a 1-month extension (1,900 baht).
This year, it’s a disaster for us—not only were we planning a 4-month stay, adding a visa run in between (which some say is quite risky), but the law is apparently changing in the coming months with the return of the 1-month exemption (plus the usual 1-month option). So, we looked into applying for a 6-month multiple-entry visa, allowing a maximum of 60 consecutive days in Thailand. However, I can’t find anywhere the minimum time required outside Thailand between two stays—do any of you have an idea?

We’ll soon be moving to Madagascar long-term.
As a French national, I need to obtain a short-stay visa that can be converted to a long-stay one. To do this, I have to send the required documents to the Madagascar embassy in Paris.
No issues with that procedure so far.
If I get this visa, once I arrive in Madagascar, I’ll need to provide the same documents to the Ministry of the Interior in Anosy. I’m trying to find an email address or website for the Ministry to check which documents I need to submit (I think they ask for additional ones).
If you have any info on this, I’d appreciate your replies.

I’d like to know if anyone has already applied for a private visa to Russia with an invitation from a Russian resident.
I traveled earlier this year with an e-visa, but since I want to stay longer, I’ll be visiting my friend who lives in eastern Russia.
For the visa application, does the invitation need to be on an official paper form issued by the Russian ministry? And most importantly, do I need to present the original for the application, or is there an electronic version that can be sent directly to the consulate in France?

I filled out the B2 form to apply for a visa, created an account on Atvis to pay the visa fees and schedule a meet-up, but every time I try to pay with my Boursobank Visa 1st card, they refuse the payment with a message telling me to check my details (address), even though everything is correct. Does anyone know why this is happening, or maybe they don’t accept Visa cards? Are you aware of this?

There are rumors going around about the ETA: it must absolutely be on your smartphone in the "ETA" app.
Paper documents might not be accepted.
Is this real or just a hoax?

We need to apply for a B2 visa because we visited Iran in 2018. It currently costs $185, but they’re planning an additional $250 fee per person for the same visa—it’s been approved but not yet implemented. Does anyone know when this fee will take effect?

In November, we're heading off on a 4-month trip. We'll be landing in China and plan to leave the country via a land border into Vietnam.
I’ve read that China may ask for proof of exit within 30 days (flight ticket or other reservation). Since we’d be leaving by land, I’m wondering how this works in practice.
Has anyone here been in this situation recently?
Did the airline ask for an exit ticket before boarding?
Did Chinese authorities require proof upon arrival?
Is a train/bus ticket to Vietnam sufficient?
Is a cancelable or flexible reservation accepted?
