Your Morocco looks amazing, Catherine! 🙂

So many beautiful photos, so many beautiful countries... since we can't be everywhere 🤪, we enjoy them here on VF 🙂.

My Morocco will be Berber or it won't be... 😉

You may have noticed that when it comes to photos, I prefer scenes of life and portraits over landscapes... and I'm not very talkative when it comes to commenting on them.

Hi Attila,

What if we met up in Southern Africa, which you know so well, but this time in the Indian Ocean... more precisely in the Comoros archipelago, made up of 3 islands: Anjouan, Mohéli, and Grande Comore (Mayotte having "chosen" to remain French...). Here are 5 images from Grande Comore, a stunning island with a dignified and courageous population that’s very welcoming:

1. The Moroni mosque, facing the port.

2. A fisherman in his pirogue

3. A Comorian village

4. On the road... in the "countryside"

5. Like all children around the world, at school.

Just a sample....

GORGEOUS!!!!!😎😎😎 So many beautiful photos, bravo and keep it up!!!!
KA Kate Globetrotter ·
My Morocco will be fragrant and gourmet 😉

Olfactory pleasures, scents blending honey and mint, spicy or floral in the heart of Marrakech’s medina...

Gastronomic pleasures: a tagine or a bowl of snails?

A feast for the eyes too 😉

After seeing these beautiful photos, I’ll leave Morocco to the experts and those with a real passion for walking (I wouldn’t mind a little more of it myself), and I’m off to join KaniBé in Laos... 🙂

So Laos is... 1 - "The Land of a Million Elephants" (Luang Prabang mosaic)

2 - Karst formations and bamboo bridges (Vang Vieng)

3 - Skilled hands weaving under the houses

4 - Colorful transport that looks like trucks

5 - And mountain villages (Near Muang Sing)

A perspective just the way I like it—humanity first...

Maybe one day, if those countries you love become accessible to us mere mortals who don’t speak English... and refuse to organize trips through travel agencies, I’ll drag my lonely backpack there.

Thanks, Catherine, for fueling that desire.

I’m about to log off VF for a few days to head somewhere more familiar: the Alps of Haute-Provence and its flower-lined trails.

Safe travels to you, fellow globetrotters.

See you!

Our Asian tour is going in the opposite direction! 😉 Here are a few Burmese images.

1. Fetching water in Bagan

2. Bagan again...

3. Chatting...

4. Intha fisherman on Inle Lake

5. Future...

LE Leflâneur Regular ·
... that’s enough! Otherwise, I’ll pack up my backpack and stay glued to VF 😉

All these photos are incredibly beautiful!!! The portraits of locals and everyday life are also what I love the most... Thanks for all these shares!

Sorry, I’m still throwing some in too! :)

I’ll add a few photos from Morocco (2011):

1. Morocco and the start of the Sahara...

2. Unbelievable sunrises...

3. The desert nomads...

4. The colorful medina of Marrakech...

5. And don’t forget the thousands of cats that populate Marrakech!

A photo discussion full of kindness... May I? 🙂

In Crete:

By the roadside, many small mausoleums, some modest and others more lavishly decorated, each dedicated to the memory of a departed loved one.

A delicate little figure, the emblem of Kritsa, the village of embroiderers.

Religion is so deeply woven into daily life that even the most run-down villages (and there are plenty!) will have a well-maintained and richly decorated church.

Two of the countless stray cats living the easy life in the alleys of Chania.

A curiosity that holds no more power here than anywhere else...

A curiosity that holds no more power here than anywhere else...

Oh yes! It’s a dreamcatcher (tested and approved )

"According to tradition, the dreamcatcher protects the sleeper from nightmares using its web-like structure. During the night, dreams enter from the top. The good dreams find their way through the center hole and slide down to the sleeper via the hanging feathers. Meanwhile, the bad dreams get tangled in the web and remain trapped until morning, when they’re destroyed by the first rays of sunlight."
KO Kola Globetrotter ·
When you daydream, the dreamcatcher can’t do anything. 🙂

deprived of the poetry of its French name, the object in question inevitably loses all the possibilities a dreamy soul could breathe into it.

Morocco looks absolutely stunning in all these photos.

It's so great to have multiple series on the same country—it lets us explore so many different sides. Love it!

Anyone up for joining us across the Atlantic?

In response to your request.

Montreal, the white hell! Awesome in the countryside for winter sports, but in the city 🙁

I’m taking you to the western USA, to places that are a little less visited (though still 🤪) than the magnificent national parks. It’s not very original and less exotic than the other series 😊, but it’s overseas 😛

The colors

at Valley of Fire

at Coal Mine Canyon

on CottonWood Canyon Road

The maze at Peek-a-Boo in Grand Staircase Escalante NM

The vastness at the confluence of Buckskin Gulch and Wire Pass in the Vermillion Cliffs
