j'ai une petite question au milieu de toutes ces intérrogations que chacun se pose sur la prise ou non d'un médicament pour la paudisme.Dans quelques semaines en Chine, je me demande si il est bon de prendre un traitement si je compte me rendre dans le Yunnan (Dali, Kunming, etc....) certains parlent que les moustiques sont même agréssifs sur Shangai !!!!
Avez vous un avis à ce propos schant qu'en principe je uis contre ce genre de traitement mais là, j'avoue ne pas trop savoir d'autant que l'été est tout de même la saison de la mousson ....
J'ai une boite de Lariam que je n'avais pas utilisé au Viet nam et me demande donc si prendre ou ne pas prendre ? 😮

Tous d'abord j'addort ton picto, en suite j'y reste 5 ou 6 mois, notament pour mes études (région de shanghai), mais je pense bien ne pas y resté tous le temps alors comme la chine est vaste que faire, être malade par cette cochenerie de savarine ou mieux vaut deux ou tois crise de palu pour s'immunisé ???

Quant à toi, si tu pars qu'au moins de Septembre, je pense que je ne prendrai rien, c'est plus calme ne serait ce qu'au niveau du climat et tu as moins de chance de le choper (enfin, ce n'est que mon avis !)

salut ! j'y suis allée il ya 2 ans (dans le Sud Ouest :de Kunning à Hong Kong) pdt 1 mois (voyage de type "routard") en septembre: dans la region il y a effectivement beaucoups de moustiques mais les chinois sont relativement bien equipé :climatisation, moustiquaire etc.... (mais j'avoue que je n'ai personnellement fait confiance que dans les produits que j'avais emporté avec moi !). En se qui concerne le traitement antipalu moi je n'ai pas pris de Savarine mais de la Doxycycline qui m'a été prescrit par le centre "voyage-santé" du CHU de Bordeaux (je supose qu'ils savent de quoi ils parlent....... d'autant qu'il semble qu'ils soient assez pro en matiere de medecine tropicale) en fait c'est un antibiotique qui a de trés bonnes vertus antipalu et qui n'a aucun effet secondaire (sauf un risque photosensibilisant : mais il suffit de mettre de l'écran solaire !) personnellement je n'ai eu aucun probléme et en plus comme c'est un antibiotique tu as en plus une protection antibacterienne contre les" petites bebête "de Chine Si vous avez d'autre questions n'esitez pas!
Bon bas j'ai comprit, j'ai plus qu'as prendre rendez-vous chez mes copains du département tropical de l'institue pasteur, mais je sait déjas ce qu'il vont me dire !!!!

La doxycycline est probablement le meilleur médicament pour la prophylaxie antipaludique à administrer dans les régions à très haut risque comme l'Asie du Sud-Est.(http://www.rph.wa.gov.au).
Cependant, son utilisation chez les enfants de moins de huit ans, les femmes enceintes et les femmes qui allaitent est proscrite. La doxycycline peut entraîner une baisse d'efficacité des pilules contraceptives, donc des précautions supplémentaires doivent être prises.
# Zones de méfloquino-résistance (zones forestières de la Thaïlande, frontalière du Cambodge, du Myanmar et le Laos) : La doxycycline (Doxypalu®) peut être conseillée à la place de la méfloquine. salut lepiaf ! je suis entierement d'accord avec toi : on ne prend pas d'antibiotique en preventif contre les microbes (je suis infirmiere tu prêches donc une convaincu ......!) je me suis peut être mal exprimée, désolé...... il est donc évident que la Doxycycline doit être privilégié non pour ses vertus antibiotiques mais pour son excellente protection contre le palu ! à noter (si mes souvenirs son bon ?) qu'il me semble que la Doxypalu (nom commercial) est tres nettement plus cher que la Doxycycline Merck (par exemple) à dosage et donc à efficacité égale............... dans le même ordre d'idée : on ne prend pas d'Imodium en prevention de la tourista !

je projette aussi un voyage de 3 mois ou plus en chine et nous ferons comme en inde..nous avions de la malarone (antipaludeen chero mais peu deffets secondaires, pas comme savarine ou loriam...) et si symptomes se presentent on prendra tout ca... mais sinon on se contente dabord de la moustiquaire etc... mais comme cest ecrit plus bas... en chine ils sont assez prevenants, mieux quen inde du moins... et puis les hopitaux a moins detre dans un trou perdu du tibet mais si pbs, tu peux te faire soigner... avec plus de confiance quen inde...
Ouais y'as un remède en chine ou faut que tu mange 1kg de miel par jour, a moin que sa soit pour l'épatite E, je me souvient plus bien ...
Bon bas on verra bien ce qu'ils me disent a l'institue, a quand un vaccin purée de m**** (quoi on peut rèver non !!!!), n'empèche sa sauverais pas mal de vie ...

En septembre 2003, on a décider de faire un petit tour en afrique avec notre 4 L et notre fils de 4 ans (made in malaisia)
arrivée a bamako, on a consulté un médecin surtout pour notre fils
il a eu un sirop pour le traitement contre le palu, pour nous on s'est dis on verra bien..........
et on a vu.............1 crise pour ma copine
2 pour moi............................... donc on a un peu regrétté de ne rien avoir pris, mais bon c'est vrai que t'est pas bien pendant 2 jours (ma copine délirais, elle ne voulais pas etre cuite au four avec des pommes de terre !!!!!!!!!!!!! et comme les traitement étais efficace, en 4 jous on étais mis sur pieds...
ma conclusion
pour un voyage de 15 jours, un mois ne prends pas de risque et prend les medic (méme si beaucoup de gens on fais des crise de palu cet hiver en afrique bien qu'etant sous traitement.)
pour desvoyages plus long :6 mois, un an
ne prend rien et tu fais comme les locaux, en cas de crise tu va a l'hosto
la vie est comme un livre, celui qui n'a pas voyagé n'en connais que la 1ere page.
Une autre recomandation vas voir un pro (hopitaux spécialisé), on connait pas tes entessédents et autres, alors mieux vaut voir le type qui te soigneras si tu chope le pallut, et que tu as d'autres crises en france en revenant ...

We're about to go on an organized trip to South Africa, including Kruger Park. We were told that Malarone should preferably be taken in the evening at the same time during a meal. But it's hard to know what time we'll have dinner, especially since I've read that in South Africa, dinner is usually around 6 PM.
I'd love to hear from people who've been on organized trips to this destination and could share their experience. We were thinking of taking Malarone around 7:30 PM, assuming dinner would be closer to 7 PM than 6 PM. Also, if the meal ends up being earlier or later than when we take the pill, would a cookie or a piece of bread be enough to take with Malarone?
I’m planning to set off on a "round-the-world" trip/long journey at the start of next year, lasting between 4.5 and 6 months. For now, the itinerary looks like this: South Korea (2 weeks) -> Japan (1 month) -> New Zealand (1 month) -> Argentina (1 month) -> United States (1 month).
I’m on medication (paroxetine 20 mg/day) and was hoping to bring enough for the entire trip so I wouldn’t have to find a doctor on the spot, deal with a molecule that might be slightly different from what’s available in France, or wonder if that’s even a possibility. Basically, it seemed simpler on paper...
But after looking into the regulations for each country, it’s suddenly way less simple . Many seem to only allow the amount corresponding to the length of your "stay" in the country... Which is a problem if I arrive in Korea with 4.5 months’ worth of medication, for example.
After all that, and even though I’ll obviously contact the relevant authorities in each country (fingers crossed for a response 😛), here’s my question:

I have several chronic conditions (including asthma and related ones), and I’m planning to travel for a year across different countries.
Generally, I understand it’s possible to travel with approved medications (which should be my case), but often with a limit of 3 months’ worth of treatment.
Since I’m going for 12 months, that means for three-quarters of my trip, I’d have more than 3 months’ worth of medication.
I plan to bring my prescriptions with the INN (International Nonproprietary Name), as well as the original packaging (even though it’s a nightmare, but from what I understand, it’s necessary). But I’m not sure if that’s enough...

The suspected origin is contamination in Namibia by jackals.
