Je suis surprise que l'o, vous conseille uniquement de la Malarone, qui coute très chère.
Le Centre de Vaccination de mon département m'a ordonné du Granudoxy Gé 100mg, beaucoup moins coûteux et aussi efficace.
Le grand conseil, prendre le médicament le soir, car un eventuel risque de photosensibilisation, mais très atténué en prenant le médoc le SOIR.

Je suis revenu du kenya le 1 décembre après etre rester 3 mois.Avant de partir on m'avait effectivement conseiller de prendre un traitement antipalu.Les deux premières semaines j'ai pris mon traitement mais après j'ai vite abandonné car je me suis rendu compte qu'il y avait très peu de moustiques et contrairement à ce que l'on peut penser l'endroit où il y en avait le moins était sur la cote.Par contre à nairobi c'en est infesté en revanche si cela est génant pour dormir cela ne l'est pas pour le paludisme car vraiment très peu en sont porteur.Vous devez surtout vous méfiez des moustiques lorsque vous ètes près d'un troupeau de bétail car la le risque qu'ils soient porteurs est plus important.Encore que comme je vous l'ai dit je n'en ai pratiquement pas vu.Je suis même aller passer quelques jours dans une tribu massai ou il y a énormément de bétail et même la je n'ai pas été piqué.
Je vous souhaite un bon voyage et si je peux vous conseiller une chose c'est d'éviter tout les endroits touristiques et vous pourrez rencontrez des gens formidables.N'hésiter pas à aller dans les petits bars glauques, les gens seront très étonnés de voir des "mzungus" et seront très acceuillants.Certains voudront surement vous emmener voir leur maison et vous offrir un thé après vous avoir présenté à la famille.

N'écouter pas les conseils de certains inconscients.
Il ne faut pas jouer à la roulette russe sous prétexte qu'il y a peu de moustiques.Il suffit d'une piquûre d'un seul moustique infecté et c'est la cata.
J'ai moi même soigné des personnes atteintes du palu qui pensaient passer à travers(franchement: il vaut mieux prendre son comprimé tous les jours que de se retrouver dans une boîte ou en réanimation).le palu tue des millions de personnes tous les ans dans le monde.Celà donne à réfléchir.
J'ai fait le Kenya, l'Inde, la Chine à chaque fois j'ai pris de la Malarone.Celà peut paraître astreignant voire inutile pour certains, mais necessaire.
Jetez un petit coup d'oeïl sur le site de Pasteur conseils aux voyageurs.

C'est intéressant d'avoir un témoignage de bonne tolérance du Lariam, qui est sur ce forum (et dans l'esprit de beaucoup de voyageurs) diabolisé.
Les effets secondaires peuvent exister, certes, mais ils dépendent des personnes; c'est la raison pour laquelle il vaut mieux prendre le produit avant le départ pour voir comment on le tolère et pouvoir changer si besoin.
Quand il est bien toléré c'est un excellent anti paludéen.
Bonjour à tous les apprentis sorciersqui me paraissent connaître la vie au kenya pour y avoir séjourné entre 8 et 15 jours pour la majorité.
Personnellement nous sommes restés 3 ans à Nairobi pour une durée aussi longue nous n' avons bien sur pas pris de traitement tous les jours nous avons privilégiés les vêtements adaptés pour le soir ainsi que les produits répulsifs "off" .
Pour les voyageurs occasionnels suivez les conseils de nombreux posteurs qui vous conseillent la malarone ce qui actuellement est le mieux pour la région Kenya Tanzanie. Pour ceux qui n'ont pas vu de moustiques vers Mombasa ils ont eu de la chance car Mombasa comme toute la côte est la zone la plus dangeureuse concernant le risque de contamination (pour la petite histoire l'épouse d'un ami qui résidait avec nous à Nairobi est décdée après une balade à Mombasa et après 3 jours ).
Donc suivez les conseils de vos médecins de vos centres de vaccination et ne jouez pas avec le feu

Le kenya est plus à risque que le sénégal; en bord de côte il y a des moustiques même
en janvier/février, le tout est de savoir si on va être piqué par un moustique infecté.
Beaucoup de personnes ne prennent pas de traitement, surtout celles qui restent plus d'un mois.
pour ma part je prends toujours un traitement ( nivaquine+paludrine ); ça ne m'a pas empéché une fois ( pendant la période el nino ) de faire une crise.

We're about to go on an organized trip to South Africa, including Kruger Park. We were told that Malarone should preferably be taken in the evening at the same time during a meal. But it's hard to know what time we'll have dinner, especially since I've read that in South Africa, dinner is usually around 6 PM.
I'd love to hear from people who've been on organized trips to this destination and could share their experience. We were thinking of taking Malarone around 7:30 PM, assuming dinner would be closer to 7 PM than 6 PM. Also, if the meal ends up being earlier or later than when we take the pill, would a cookie or a piece of bread be enough to take with Malarone?
I’m planning to set off on a "round-the-world" trip/long journey at the start of next year, lasting between 4.5 and 6 months. For now, the itinerary looks like this: South Korea (2 weeks) -> Japan (1 month) -> New Zealand (1 month) -> Argentina (1 month) -> United States (1 month).
I’m on medication (paroxetine 20 mg/day) and was hoping to bring enough for the entire trip so I wouldn’t have to find a doctor on the spot, deal with a molecule that might be slightly different from what’s available in France, or wonder if that’s even a possibility. Basically, it seemed simpler on paper...
But after looking into the regulations for each country, it’s suddenly way less simple . Many seem to only allow the amount corresponding to the length of your "stay" in the country... Which is a problem if I arrive in Korea with 4.5 months’ worth of medication, for example.
After all that, and even though I’ll obviously contact the relevant authorities in each country (fingers crossed for a response 😛), here’s my question:

Generally, I understand it’s possible to travel with approved medications (which should be my case), but often with a limit of 3 months’ worth of treatment.
Since I’m going for 12 months, that means for three-quarters of my trip, I’d have more than 3 months’ worth of medication.
I plan to bring my prescriptions with the INN (International Nonproprietary Name), as well as the original packaging (even though it’s a nightmare, but from what I understand, it’s necessary). But I’m not sure if that’s enough...

The suspected origin is contamination in Namibia by jackals.
The contagion seems to be spreading.
Preventive vaccination (of the animals) is being considered.

It’s the bite that transmits the disease.
There are so-called "furious" forms with aggression, but also forms without aggression.
