c'est vrai que la suisse, l'autriche (en particulierle le tyrol) et l'italie(les dolomites) sont de tres beaux paysages pour vadrouiller en moto.
pour ce qui est de l'allemagne il ya de beaux endroits aussi (comme partout) mais ce n'est pas un pays tres visites, c'est plutot un pays transit(autoroutes gratuite et souvent sature)
je ne sais pas si tu recherche le cluturel ou plutot les paysages (ou les deux)
personnellement je peux te conseiller la foret noire du sud dans la region de "freibourg" ainsi que le "bodensee" pour ensuite suivre ta route vers la baviere et munich (capitale de bmw motorrad; moi aussi je possede 2 bmw la gs 1200 adv et la x challenge);
sans oublier de visiter les alpes bavaroise a proximite de l'autriche( tres joli aussi :et gens sympathique dans la region)
en allemagne les routes sont en tres bonnes etat en regle general et tu croisera un paquet de bmwiste et autres.
apres pour l'autriche plus tu te dirige vers vienne moins les paysages seront majestueux (ca changera du tyrol)
c'est different mais ca a aussi son charme, surtou si tu longe le danube jusqu'a la capitale autrichienne (tres romantique)
il faut aussi dire que vienne est une belle ville;
mais bon c a toi de voir ce que tu desire faire ; apprecier le paysage, visite des sites, bien manger etc...

il y a une petite région d'Allemagne qui est très très apprécié des motards, c'est la suisse Franconienne, dans la région de Nuremberg. Cela se situe dans la partie nord de la Bavière. C'est très beau et ca fait partie des régions à faire / voir pour les motards allemands.
Tu pourrais y passer et ensuite descendre direction Munich pour aller en Autriche. Sinon, n'oublies pas d'aller faire un tour en Allgäu, au pays des chateaux du roi fou...

c'est vrai qu'une fois tu es parti en voyage en moto voir de superbes paysages, tu prends rapidement le virus.
pour moi il n'y arien de plus beau que de pouvoir partir en moto tout les etes un minimum de 3 semaines (cela fait 15 ans que je fait cela)
il y a tellement de pays, de magnifique paysages, de mentalite etc... a voir qu'on aura jamais le temps de tout explore;
c'est vrai qu'en 10 jours tu es deja plus restreint.
mais bon parfois t'as pas besoin d'aller tres loin pour voir de belles choses (les alpes françaises par exemple), j'y etais 3 a 4 jours cet ete et cela m'a vraiment tres plu;
mais si je peux te conseille une boucle a faire, c'est de passer par "les dolomites"(italie) et d'enchainer avec la slovenie ( j'ai vraiment adore surtout la slovenie car les gens sont accueillants et chaleureux et c moins touristique que les dolomites) en plus en slovenie ils ont l'euro ;et de retourner par le tyrol ou le parcoues inverse.

si vraiment je devais te proposer mon endroit prefere ce serait la norvege en moto et camping (je l'ai fait 7 fois et je pourrai encore le refaire 7 fois) mais bon la c'est un autre budget et planning temps plus consequent;
moi je le nomme le paradis du motard (paysages magnifique et eblouissant, nature intact, mentalite tres chaleureuse et de superbes fjordsn etc...)
mais comme je dis toujours t'es pas oblige d'aller loin pour voi de belles choses.

c vrai que les paysages en France sont magnifiques, nous les traversons des que nous pouvons durant les été. Nous sommes de la Haute-Loire tres proche de l'ardeche et on se régale...

il ya 2 ans j'y tais la derniere fois (en norvege).
d'apres mes souvenirs les campings sont entre 15 et 20 euro la nuit.
l'ideal si on est a plusieurs ( l'ideal c'est 4 personnes) de prendre des" hytter", ce sont de jolies petits chalets en bois tres rustiques.
cela revient moins cher que de monter la tente;
par contre pour les BB je n'ai jamais fait attention car ma priorite a toujours etaient les campings pour etre tres proche de la nature (elle deja tellement belle la bas qu'il faut en profiter), il m'est aussi arrive de faire du camping sauvage, c'est tolere;
je voulais juste preciser que les camping et surtout les sanitaire sont "nickel". (proprete et respect scandinave)
honnetement mon budget s'eleve au alentourde 800 a 1000 euro pour 3 semaine.
c'est le seul probleme en norvege la vie est tres chere.
exemple la biere 0, 5 litre tourne autour de 9 a 10 euro!!!!!
l'ideal c'est d'emmener un maximum de nourriture (en moto tu me diras ce n(est pas evident)
mais je le repete la norvege vaut le detour et surtout en moto car on ne s'ennuit jamais.
allez je ne veux pas vous decourager!!!!!!!
par contre pour l'ardeche, j'ai toujopurs entendu que c'est tres jolie comme region mais je n'y etais malheureusement jamais, mais c'est vrai que l'un de mes prochains objectif et d'approfondir les regions françaises.

Chaque week end de l'année sauf quand l'hiver est là nous parcourons régulièrement quelques départements : l'ardèche du nord au sud et de l'est à l'ouest. les paysages sont magnifiques et les routes tres pittoresques,
la Haute loire logique...
Les gorges du tarn un vrai régal 😎, on a fait une boucle de St enimie en lozère http://gorgedutarn.free.fr/st%20enimie.html, un pure beauté ce parcours...
et le puy dome, l'allier moyen, et à notre retour d'Autriche Chamonyx et du côté du col du st bernard, gigantesque...
Si j'ai un conseil les gorges du Tarn c superbe...
On a prévu de faire les alpes avec des amis motards ... mais dans quel sens, je ne sais pas encore !

Je connais bien le Sud de l'Allemagne pour y avoir résidé et c'est la route pour aller en Autriche!
Je n'ai qu'une hâte, c'est revoir ma chère Allemagne, en particulier cette région si jolie: le Pays Souabe ! Alors, allez-y, vous verrez, cela vaut le coup!
Peu de Français savent où se trouve le pays des Souabes (Schwabenland), c'est entre la Forêt Noire et la Bavière. Une ville charmante qui plus est universitaire qu'il faut absolument voir, c'est TüBINGEN.
Elle se trouve sur le Neckar, sa vieille ville (importante, pas deux ruelles!) est en partie piétonne et étendue. 4 ans là-bas, ce fut le paradis. Cette ville, vaut vraiment le détour !!!! Evitez STUTTGART, pas vraiment intéressante.
Ensuite, je descendrais vers le Danube, je visiterais les petits bourgs, comme RIEDLINGEN (sur le Danube) puis direction la Bavière. Bien sûr Munich ( 3 jours) puis évidemment les châteaux de Louis II (NEUSCHWANSTEIN et HOHENSCHWANGAU), et puis des petites villes sympas bavaroises comme MITTENWALD.
Après, vous ne direz plus qu'il n'y a rien à voir en Allemagne. L'Allemagne du Sud, c'est la nature, sorti des grandes villes.
Après Passau, je suis en Autriche, je me promène dans le Vorarlbeg, puis le Tirol... Si j'ai le temps, je file à Salzbourg, ...
Après les Spätzle (nouilles souabes), les Maultaschen (raviolis souabes), les Würstchen, les Bretzel et la bière, à vous la goulash autrichienne!
Ce que j'aime beaucoup aussi en Bavière et en Autriche, ce sont les églises baroques à bulbe et les chalets peints.

Nous sommes de la Haute-Loire... Nous te conseillons si tu passes par la suisse de faire le Furkapass, une montée fabuleuse et des paysages magnifiques. Prévois le plein même si la varadero a un gros reservoir, il n'y a pas de station essence.😉

Départ du puy en velay via Sion suisse puis Grûch en passant par le Furkapass... le Valais est tres beau, le tyrol suisse :)... l'ensemble du tyrol suisse est superbe :
Nous etions dans un BB à Sion, ville charmante mais rien d'exceptionnelle... Route bonne état, L'autoroute est payante à eviter.
QQ infos sur l'autriche ; Autriche à faire si tu as un peu de temps.
Puis nous avions tracé vers Pertisau un petit village nichée sur un plateau avec un lac au dessu d'Innsbruck, nous sommes restés deux jours. durant ses deux jours nous avons fait le Grosskloner un glacier à faire impérativement, puis nous sommes repartis sur Niederthai... un coin des plus perdus ... mais super beau. Puis nous sommes repartis sur le tyrol Italien en passant par le Krimmel puis vallée d'Aoste... et en terminant par le petit col du St Bernard.
Nous avons dormi dans des BB ( bed and Breakfast). Tres accueillant et des gens charmants, des maisons pleines de fleurs :) je ne peux pas te donner d'info sur les campings. Dans les BB et resto ils prennent rarement la CB, paiement en espèce en priorité. La nourriture pas chere, grosse quantité, revetement de la route tres correcte, gens accueillants, Innsbruck à voir su tu aimes la patrimoine local et la culture, autoroute payante mais je ne te la conseille pas c pas tres beau.

I’m starting to think about a trip that’s really close to my heart: Algeria by motorcycle, specifically the southern part of the country. It’d be for January 2025, and I’ve got two main questions:
Is it possible for an individual on a motorcycle to travel freely, outside of any organized tour, or does the regulation require some kind of supervision in the Algerian Sahara region?
Is the Hoggar massif accessible by road or by (rideable) tracks?
Beyond the official recommendations, I’m really looking for your firsthand experiences.

I just realized I’ve been registered on VoyageForum since... March 28, 2012 😊. Yet, I’ve barely participated until now.
August 1, 2026, will mark a somewhat special milestone: 5 years on the road.
We left Switzerland on August 1, 2021 with a simple idea: let chance decide our direction. We placed a bottle of wine on a world map, spun it... and it chose our first destination.
A year later, when we arrived in Morocco, we faced a new choice: continue toward Africa or head to Asia. This time, a tarot card game made the decision. Since then, we’ve tried to keep this journey as open to the unexpected as possible.
Today, that adds up to about 120,000 km, 46 countries, and over 1,800 days on the road—mostly by motorcycle, but also by sailboat, train, bus, hitchhiking, or on foot when adventure calls.
Our guiding thread isn’t just the motorcycle, but service exchanges. Instead of simply passing through countries, we try to stop regularly to lend a hand to the people we meet. So far, that’s about 600 days of volunteering.
Over the years, we’ve:
renovated a house in Croatia
made earth bricks in the Moroccan desert
helped sail a boat through the Greek islands
looked after houses, dogs, horses, a camel... and lots of other animals
worked at a street art festival in Morocco
created videos for local associations and projects
worked the grape harvest on the Tibetan plateau
been accredited as "media" for the World Nomad Games in Central Asia
Some of the moments that have stuck with us the most include six months in China, a night spent on the Great Wall, the Pamir Highway, the Silk Road, three months in Taiwan, and the incredible encounters in the mountains of Central Asia.
We travel on Falkor, our lucky dragon—a 2014 BMW F800GS that’s been with us since the start and is starting to have some great stories of its own.
While we share our adventure on Instagram, Polarsteps, and YouTube, that’s not why we’re here. The forum’s rules about promotion are clear, and I totally get them. If I’m finally taking the time to write, it’s mostly because after five years on the road, I thought our experience might be useful to other travelers.

I’m planning a motorcycle road trip to Armenia and Georgia in September 2026 or May 2027. I’m looking for one or more riders (male or female) who’d like to explore these countries with me.
Along the way, we’ll visit Cappadocia, the capitals Yerevan, Tbilisi, Sofia, Skopje, and other cities—we can finalize the route and roadbook later.
This trip requires experience with long motorcycle journeys, as we’ll cover around 7,000 km over 5 or 6 weeks (or more, depending on sightseeing and time spent).
I don’t expect dozens of applicants, since motorcycle riders are few and far between on this forum, but I’m putting this out there anyway.

I’m not particularly drawn to museums, ruins, or monuments.
I want to experience local life—small villages, seaside spots, beaches, and the interior if the landscapes are extraordinary.
Ideally, coming from Athens, I’d take a bus or train to get as close as possible to a starting point, then rent a scooter (125cc) to explore by taking secondary roads or even coastal paths. I’d stay in 2-3 places for a few days each to discover their surroundings.

What do you think would be the ideal itinerary?
From Athens, the best option would be to take either a flight or a bus to Kalamata. Rent a scooter and head either west or east. Is there a tertiary road (very lightly trafficked) or a path where I can ride slowly, take it easy, and enjoy the scenery without being bothered by traffic? I’d like to go all the way to Monemvasia, still hugging the coast. I need to find a way to avoid returning to Kalamata to drop off the scooter and catch a flight—maybe a small town where the train stops so I can head back to Athens.

How do you get visas for the countries I’ll be crossing: Uruguay, Argentina, Bolivia, Peru, and Chile? Are they e-Visas, obtained at the border, or through embassies?

I’ve got 15 days off in June and I’m pretty undecided about where to go for a motorcycle road trip. Two strong desires are pulling me in different directions: Corsica or Norway.
Corsica has been a dream of mine for a long time: legendary roads, stunning landscapes, a unique vibe, and the perfect mix of sea and mountains. At the same time, I’m wondering if 2 weeks might be *too much* for Corsica—risking feeling like I’ve seen it all too quickly, especially on a bike.
Since I also have an extra week free in May, I could use that specifically for Corsica. Maybe splitting it into two trips would make more sense? If so, which routes or regions would be the most interesting to plan for a 7-day trip?
On the other hand, Norway is *super* appealing. The landscapes look incredible, totally different from anything I’ve experienced, and it’d be a real “wow” trip. I know 15 days is still short for such a vast country. Getting all the way to the North Cape seems pretty much impossible in that time, but I’m curious about what realistic routes could be planned.
So I’m wondering:
Is it better to save Norway for next year, take 3 weeks off, and do it *properly*?
Or are 15 days enough for a first amazing taste of the country?
I’d love to hear about your experiences—whether it’s Corsica (ideal duration, routes) or Norway (what’s realistic in 2 weeks on a bike).

Hello! We’re planning a motorcycle trip that will include a visit to Auschwitz-Birkenau in June 2026.
We’re unsure (still debating) whether we should stay at a hotel on-site and get to the memorial with an Uber (leaving our bikes at the hotel) and book a guided tour, or base ourselves in Kraków and take a tour that includes transport.
One thing’s for sure—we’d prefer a guide in French since we don’t speak English 😅.

Unfortunately, I’m worried that parts of the N630 may have disappeared or merged with the A66 motorway, forcing us to ride long stretches of highway, which we’d rather avoid.

This is our first motorcycle trip in Morocco. I got my license two years ago with the dream of taking this kind of trip, and here we are! ✌️😍
In France, we usually ride between 300 to 400 km per day on roadsters. We’re not used to off-road tracks, so we’re looking for easy ones 😅—especially for me 😅.
For Morocco, I’ve planned stages of 200 to 300 km per day.
