Souhaitant me rendre à Fortaleza depuis Cayenne avec toute ma famille, je souhaiterais avoir des informations sur les différentes possibilités pour passer la frontière au plus bas prix. Pourriez-vous, s'il vous plaît m'indiquer :
- de Cayenne à Oyapock : les moyens de transport et les tarifs ?
- de Oyapock à Oiapoque : les tarifs de la traversée.
- de Oyapock à Macapa : 1/ il y a t-il une compagnie aérienne et si oui, combien ? 2/ combien ça coûte par le bus ?
- de Macapa à Belem ou de Macapa à Fortaleza : quels sont les compagnies aériennes et combien ça coûte ?
Sinon de Cayenne à Belem ou de Cayenne à Macapa ou de Cayenne à Fortaleza : quelles sont les compagnies aériennes et quel est le tarif le moins cher ?

Bon comme je te disais je rentre d'Oyapoque, mais je ne vais guere pouvoir te renseigner, j'ai fait le trajet avec ma propre Twingo!
La route, la RN2 est correcte entre Cayenne et Regina, quelques trous tout de meme. Ensuite Regina - Saint-Georges de l'Oyapock, la route est excellente!
A Saint-Georges, tu es obligée de laisser ta voiture dans un parking privé, sinon depouillée: 10 Euros/24 heures; ou lui faire prendre le bac.
Tu as les pirogues qui t'emmenes jour et nuit à Oiapoque environ 15 minutes, pour 4 à 5 euros ou 10 Reals; demande le piroguier bresilien Gabriel, il a le numero 18 ou le 41, ils sont tres sympas.
D'oiapoque, tu trouveras facilement un gars pour vous emmener jusqu'à Macapa.
pour le trajet que tu veux faire, compte 40 euros de Cayenne à Saint Georges (en taxi collectif)
pour traverser le fleuve (c magnifique) compte 10 reais ou 5 euros
A Oiapoque, il faut faire attention à passer à la police fédérale pour le visa
Des types proposent de t'amener juska Macapà pour 100 reais (en voiture tout terrain) ou le bus pour 50 reais je crois; j'ai préféré la voiture même s'il faut attendre qu'elle soit pleine pour le départ, c beaucoup plus rapide que le car (nous l'avons vu bloqué sur la route...)
le trajet est éprouvant mais fabuleux!

Sinon, connaitrais-tu les tarifs des compagnies aériennes PENTA et SURINAM AIRWAYS qui font Cayenne-Macapa ou Cayenne-Belem ? et le prix de la voiture c'est 100 reais par personnes ? Tu es arrivé à quel heure à Macapa ? as-tu trouvé un vol après pour partir de Macapa ou es-tu resté ? si tu es resté pourrais-tu me conseillé une pousada ?
Cayenne Oyapoc il y a des taxi collectifs au départ de cayenne pour environ 40 euros comme l'as déja dis qq'un .
A Oyapoc il y a des bus (qui partent en général le soir vers 18h00 ) et 4x4 qui partent quand ils sont plein (mais la il faut demander ou on les trouve sur place).
Les tarifs varient de 60 reais environ (en bus) a 70- 100 rais (en 4x4) .
Le mieux et le plus rapide est la 4x4 surtout en saison humide (8 heures en saison sèche à 14 heures en saison bien humide, de route en fonction de l'état de la piste ).
Pour le bus c'est plutôt entre 16 heures (en saison sèche) à 3 jours (en saison humide. On peut même perdre le bus en route et il faut attendre un bus de secours pour repartir !!).
Ensuite a Macapa c'est la porte ouverte sur le Brésil via Belem (24 heures de bateau pour traverser l'embouchure de l'amazone).
Plus rapide et plus confortable (et un peu plus chere mais finalement pas tant que ca en comptant bien) :
Vol Cayenne - Macapa - Belem par la TAF (2h15 environ jusqu'à Belem - Je ne connais pas la prix), Cette compagnie Brésilienne à repris les activités de la PENTA qui n'existe plus.
Vol Cayenne- Belem direct avec Air Caraibe : 1h15 de vol, 340s euro aller - retour.
Le plus fun et le plus rude : Bus + Bateau jusqu'à Belem
Le plus confortable et le plus Rapide : Air Caraibe

le mieux c'est d'arriver la matinée pour attrapper une voiture en début d'après midi; moi je suis partie vers 14h00 et arrivée vers 4h00 du matin...un peu long mais c folklo et superbe...entre peur de panne, route glissante, et franche rigolade!! pour le tarif, oui c 100 reais par personne. Pour le trajet de car, je ne connais pas la durée du trajet. quand tu arrives sur Macapa, le chauffeur t'amène où tu veux dans la ville. moi pour loger, g pris l'hotel le moins cher qui se trouve dans le guide du routard, mais bon je crois qu'il y avait mieux, demande au chauffeur
pour l'avion, c pas donné, moi pour un Belem/Cayenne g payé 300 euros à peu près je crois

le tarif normal est un peu plus bas que la normale car j'ai acheté le billet dès que cela a été possible. Le prix normal est aux environs de 300 €.
A mon avis, si tu rajoutes tous les frais pour un trajet en bus plus bateau (les trajets eux même, la bouffe, une ou deux nuits de transit dans un hôtel...) je sais pas si l'avion te paraîtra trop cher.

Comme dit plus haut tu as le choix entre Air Caraibes (Cayenne-Belem) et la TAF (compagnie brésilienne basée a Fortaleza) (Cayenne-Macapa-Belem-Fortaleza).
Tu as aussi la possibilité d'avoir un vol sur Air Puma (il me semble) à partir d'Oiapoque, pour rejoindre Macapa, mais le vol est seulement hebdomadaire, et assez cher à ce qu'il parait...
Quand comptes tu voyager? A partir de juillet l'état de la route s'améliore quelque peu ;) En saison des pluies, je ne pense pas que c'est à conseiller à des enfants...

Il n'y a que la barge de Luis (200 euros pour une voiture seule, 120 pour deux, 100 pour 3, 80 pour 4...). Demande Luis à ton arrivée à Oiapoque, on te renseignera (ce n'est pas grand; Luis est à gauche quand on est en face du fleuve...)
nou souhaitons transférer un véhicule de Cayenne à Belem en juin 2011, puisque la route est mauvaise en saison de pluie, est-ce ue qq connaît un cargo ou bateau de Cayenne á Belem?

Hum...Certains ont cherché à organiser cela, mais cela se révèle au final vraiment trop compliqué (les barges de fleuve ne sont pas adaptées pour aller en mer, notamment...).
Il reste assez peu de kilomètres de route non goudronnés (les Brésiliens préparent sérieusement l'ouverture du pont de l'Oyapock) et la Guyane connaît une sécheresse depuis un an et demi (on nous a même demandé d'éviter d'arroser et d'emplir les piscines, du jamais-vu!). Donc si c'est pour passer prochainement, cela devrait aller.

By road jusqu'à Belem ca va etre un peu dur vu que tu a bien qq centaines de km d'Amazone a traverser aussi mais c'est déja une grande avancée!
Si tu veux passer la voiture jusqu'à Belem , tu a par contre accés a tout le reste du bresil.
A Santana (30km de Macapa) des bateaux peuvent faire traverser les voitures en 24/48h .
Je crois me souvenir que c'était dans les même prix que la barge d'oiapoque , il y a qq années ... maintenant ca a du bien augmenter je pense.
En revanche, pour aller a Macapa ca va être du gateau bientot avec le pont. Les brésiliens ont en effet enormément avancé la goudronage des 600 km de piste initiaux. L'année dernière il ne restait que 160 km de piste et une 50 aine de ponts en bois (sur je pense pas loin d'une centaine initialement).
En saison sèche une fois a Oiapoque, le trajet jusqu'à macapa se fait sans gros soucis (faire attention aux trous mais j'ai déja vu plus d'une fois des voiture citadines faire le trajet). Pour ma part je ne l'ai toujours fait qu'en moto.
D'ailleurs, signe que les temps changent, il y a de plus en plus de voitures immatriculées en Guyane a Macapa...

après pour que ca se développe niveau touriste faudra sécuriser un max la route vers macapa et je pense que tout un tas de distraction touristique devraient se monter le long de la route
en tout cas avec soyouz et le pont, c une nouvelle ère très sympa qui s'ouvre...
Savez vous s'il est possible, en camping car (pas de 4X4) de faire Surinam/Guyanne/Belem ou Sao Luis au nordeste du Brésil
Si le trajet est possible par la route quels sont les mois les plus faciles pour faire le trajet compte tenu du climat.

Pour ce que j'en sais (je ne l'ai fait qu'en moto il y a maintenant 2 ans ) ca doit passer en conduisant avec attention (nids de poules). Par contre pour l'instant il faut encore payer la barge pour passer du surinam a la Guyane , puis de la Guyane au Brésil (je ne sais plus le prix exact mais c'est pas donné), et ensuite rebateau obligatoire pour traverser l'Amazone.
Rien que les 3 passages de barges/bateau je pense que tu en a pour au moins 1000 euros (surtout que le change n'est plus ce qu'il était ).
Coté route je ne sais pas non plus si le goudronage est terminé entre oyapoque et macapa (décidément je ne sais pas grand choses ! ) mais en saison seche (septembre dans l'idéal) tout passais déja il y a 2 ans malgré quelque trous (j'ai même déja vu des twingos, 106, etc )... et c'est le morceaux le plus délicat.

I’m planning a trip with my partner (no kids this time—thanks, Grandma!) for two weeks to celebrate her 40th birthday. I’ve been thinking about Chile. We’re looking at leaving around September 18, 2027, starting in the south and returning in early April.
Here’s what I had in mind:
8 nights in a van in the Lake District and the start of the Carretera Austral (up to the Chaitén area). We’re set to arrive in Puerto Montt around 2:00 PM. We don’t want to go too far south since we’re planning to explore the heart of Patagonia (Chile and Argentina) with the kids when they’re older. The idea is to spend 3 nights discovering the lakes (up to Cochamó) and 3 nights in Pumalín Park. I’ve also added two transition nights.
7 nights in the Atacama to experience another side of Chile (San Pedro), taking a domestic flight from Puerto Montt to Calama in the early afternoon. We’ll depart for France in the early evening from Santiago.
IMPORTANT NOTICE for those planning to take a bus to another city, state, or destination from Salvador!
Starting January 20, 2026, the intercity bus station Rodoviária is changing its address!
The Rodoviária is leaving the Iguatemi area and will now be located in ÁGUAS CLARAS (about twenty kilometers from downtown Salvador).
A brand-new station (the most modern in Brazil) has just been set up there, accessible by car/taxi/Uber/metro.
Allow for much more transfer time (especially during rush hours), so leave early if you're heading to Chapada Diamantina or other Brazilian cities by bus.
Remember, there are also private transfers (even French-speaking ones) that can take you directly from your hotel in Salvador to your hotel in Chapada. Sure, it’ll be more expensive, but you’ll save on transfer time and comfort.

We're planning a trip to southern Chile in November. Here's our tentative itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival in Santiago, then a flight the next day to Balmaceda where we'll pick up a rental car to reach Coyhaique.
Day 3: Walk in the Coyhaique National Reserve, then continue to Puerto Chacabuco. Return to Coyhaique for the second night.
Day 4: Drive to Villa Cerro Castillo for a hike in the national park. Continue to Puerto Tranquilo and stay there for 3 nights.
Day 5: Boat tour on Laguna San Rafael.
Day 6: Day trip to Monte San Valentin Glacier.
Day 7: Excursion to the Marble Chapels, then drive to Puerto Guadal. We'll stay there for 3 nights.
Day 8: Walk along Lago Carrera and return to Puerto Guadal.
Day 9: Rio Baker Valley and, if possible, a glacier excursion.
Day 10: Drive to Cochrane and hike in Tamango National Reserve. We'll stay 2 nights in Cochrane.
Day 11: Walk in the Chacabuco Valley.
Day 12: Drive to Caleta Tortel. We'll stay there for 2 nights.
Day 13: Cruise in the Rio Baker delta.
Day 14: Return to Cochrane.
Day 15: Return to Balmaceda in two stages.
Day 16: Continue the return journey.
Day 17: Return the rental car and head back to Santiago.
After this, we're also planning to explore northern Santiago. I'll post about that part once I have a clearer idea of the route.
What do you think of this itinerary? Is it doable in 17 days?

Hi everyone, French travelers in Chile—what credit cards do you use for your various car rentals in the country? I’m traveling in September and was planning to switch my regular debit card (a VISA PREMIER in deferred debit mode) for the deposit guarantee.
My rentals are with Figal in Punta Arenas, Econautos in Arica, and Chilean Rent a Car in Temuco, and all of them want the deposit on a credit card. For me, deferred debit *should* work, but I’ve read comments saying the opposite.
How’s it actually working on the ground with these rental companies right now? Will a deferred debit card work, or not at all?

I’m desperately looking for info on the schedules and routes of (shared) boats to visit the islands of Lake Titicaca.
From what I’ve found, there’s a *combi* (bus) that leaves from Puno to go to Llachon. Where do you catch it? What are the schedules and frequency? Does it take about 1 hour?
Then in Llachon, you can take a boat to Amantani (45 min). Same question—where do you check for frequency and schedule?
After that, from Amantani, boats go to Taquile and then Uros. Do you have enough time to visit the islands between two boats? Frequency and schedule?

I just got back from a trip to Bolivia and wow—what a wake-up call. It’s not the easiest country, but it’s absolutely stunning.
I started with Isla del Sol, perfect for easing into the altitude at a relaxed pace. Try to stay in the northern part of the island—it’s quieter and the views are insane. And the trout there? Unreal. Quick tip: bring cash in small bills; they almost never have change, and cards are rarely accepted.
Next up, La Paz. The city’s pretty wild, built in every direction. I did a few hikes in the area, including the famous Charquini Lagoon (the blue lake) at over 5,000 m—let’s just say I struggled 😅 but it was so beautiful it was totally worth it.
After that, I headed to Sajama. It’s cool, especially for the hot springs, and I stayed in Tomarapi. But honestly, if you’re short on time, you can skip it without too many regrets.
The highlight of the trip: the Salar. I did it starting from Tupiza, and I *highly* recommend going Tupiza → Uyuni. Way less crowded at the start and the landscapes are super varied. For the tour, I used SplitYourGuide to find a group, and it worked out great. Super handy for splitting costs and meeting people.
I wrapped up in Sucre—this city is gorgeous, all white, with such a chill vibe. And the salteñas + ice cream? Next level 😋
Bottom line: Bolivia’s a bit rough around the edges, sometimes exhausting (shoutout to the altitude), but it’s 1000% worth it.

I was planning to go to Réunion and stay in half-board accommodation with non-professionals, but it seems that’s not really the custom there—or maybe my budget isn’t big enough.
So, since I’ve already traveled around Ecuador and Peru, I’m now looking at Argentina, especially for its mountains (like the ones in Réunion that tempted me, even though—frustratingly—I could only admire them from below).
I plan to get around by bus and don’t know in advance where I’ll sleep, so I won’t book ahead. If I like a place, I might stay for several days.
I know that in Chile, it’s easy to find half-board accommodation, but what about in Argentina?
I’d like to stay with locals in half-board without it being a professional setup. I’m not sure if this is common practice there. It’s up to me to find someone willing to host me.
What do you think?
What would be a fair price (keeping in mind that 40 to 50 € is the max I can spend on accommodation, breakfast, and dinner)?

We’re heading to Patagonia for three weeks in November, starting from Coyhaique in Chile.
We won’t have a car, and I’m struggling to find information about transportation options for a few parts of the itinerary we’d like to do:
1) From Perito Moreno (the town, near Los Antiguos), we’d like to travel down Ruta 40 to visit Perito Moreno National Park and then cross into Chile via the Paso Roballos (at the latitude of Bajo Caracoles) to reach the road to Cochrane. Without a car, it seems we’ll need to use private agencies to get to the national park—do you have any recommendations or suggestions? Also, does anyone know if it’s possible to cross into Chile via Paso Roballos (from Bajo Caracoles) without a rental car? That is, without having to go all the way down to El Chaltén or back up toward Perito Moreno/Los Antiguos, etc.?
2) The second stretch that seems a bit tricky (though still easier, in theory) is from Caleta Tortel to Villa O’Higgins on the Chilean side. Do we have to go back through Cochrane, or are there ways to get directly from Tortel to Villa O’Higgins?
3) Finally, we’d like to hike into Argentina (El Chaltén) from O’Higgins. Any recommendations for this? Do we need to go through an agency? What’s the estimated duration of the trek?
As you’ve probably gathered, we want to visit some off-the-beaten-path spots but don’t have a car, so we’re looking for the best possible compromises.

we’re planning a round trip from San Pedro de Atacama, Chile, to Salta, Argentina, in two months. On the way there, we’ll take the northern route via Susques, Route 27, then 52. But for the return, we were thinking of taking the southern route via San Antonio de los Cobres, Route 51, then 23. Is it similar to the northern route in terms of road surface? How busy is it, and are there gas stations? Basically, should we be worried about doing it in an SUV that’s supposedly 4x4 but has regular road tires and no second spare wheel, obviously...
I’ve seen that we can stop over in San Antonio de los Cobres.

we’ll be in Calama at the end of March 2026, and I’m looking for a reliable car rental there for a 7-day road trip to Salta, Argentina. But I’m struggling with the car rental agencies in Calama because the reviews can be scary. I saw Gyg, which has great ratings, but I’m a bit wary (5/5 from 59 reviews—either the guy’s amazing or it’s fake...), but I can’t find any recent reviews on VF in general.
For Punta Arenas, I booked with Dachelet and didn’t have any issues with email exchanges.
