Une agence de voyage locale contactee par mes soins me demande un prix de 380 USD, ce qui ne correspond pas aux tarifs qui sont discutés dur ce forum, autour de 150 USD (a cause du change "officiel" sans doute)...

Los Roques est très cher ! Pour le billet, compte au moins 5 ou 600 BsF le vol A/R. Plus tout le reste une fois sur place !
Pour réserver ? Je comprends ton problème. Mais réserver, au Venezuela, c'est verser au minimum un acompte ! Sans cela, ya rien qui tienne.
Les vols partent le matin et rentrent en fin d'après-midi. Je ne sais pas s'ils ont un guichet à l'aéroport national ? En tout cas, ils sont à Caracas. Renseigne-toi en arrivant ! Dans tous les cas, il te faudra passer la nuit dans le coin, à l'aller et au retour, ce qui gonfle encore le prix !!!
Los Roques on en revient. Pour notre part on a pris un package a l aeroport international, 506 euros pour 5 nuits et 6 jours en demi pension. Le prix du vol sec calcule par l'agence pour le vol etait de 120 euros, on a voyage avec Transaven. Je pense que le mieux est de venir sur place car le prix qu'ils te donnent est surevalue. Mais par contre les vols ne sont pas surs, on a eu le vol aller de reporte au soir et le vol de retour reporte au lendemain.
Sinon pour le sejour, pousada Grimari, 30 euros par jour et par personne, une des moins cheres. Des bresiliens venus en vol sec m'ont dis que c etait le meilleur rapport qualite prix qu'ils avaient trouve.

Bonjour ! Et bien 506 euros pour 5 jours, 6 nuits, c'est pas cher !!!! Nous sommes partis une journée en forfait tout inclus sur los roques, on a payé environ 300 euros pour 2 avec une agence de playa el agua sur margarita !!
vol, colation à l'arrivée sur l'ilot, repas du midi, et boisson a volonté....2 ilots visités...1 heure de plongée ( sans bouteilles ) pour voir la faune....
Rien à dire sur la prestation, repas de très grande qualité !....et pas de speed dans le timing !
Mais Los roques, ya rien à faire là bas...la plage et la mer sont belles, mais une journée suffit !....
C'est vrai que la couleur de l'eau fait penser à la polynésie....mais j'ai pas vu de cocotiers, sur les 2 ilots où nous sommes allés....c'est un peu désert quand meme....donc necessité de louer parasol sur les plages...et boom le porte monnaie !
Tous les prix sont multipliés par 2 ou 3....un paquet de marlboro est vendu 7500 BS normalement...a los roques, il est à 15 000 !
Mon conseil, pour moins cher...c'est les ilots de Morrocoy au depart de Tucacas en barque rapide appellées lanchas ou peñeros, ...il est meme possible de camper...et là bas, l'eau est équivalente à los roques...sinon, il y a choroni, puis se rendre sur les plages de Chuao, cépé, vallé seco, toujours en barque.....pour l'instant c'est ce que je connais...mis a part l'ile de margarita..
Sinon, un avis particulier concernant l'aviation locale au Venezuela, un avis qui ne regarde que moi, mais je pense être bien au courant de ce qui se passe là bas.....ma femme est venezuelienne, je suis pilote moi meme, et mon beau frère, journaliste aéronautique à caracas......
Mon conseil, ...évitez le transport aerien local.... il y a un gros soucis au venezuela dans ce domaine....des accidents toutes les semaines !!....ils n'auront jamais les standards US ou Europeens.... meme avant de decoller, les accidents au sol sont inombrables....style dernier en date, un DC9 ou 737 avec freins defectueux qui a coupé la piste de decollage pour finir sa course dans le " champ " !!...il venait de sortir du hangar de maintenance !!!....un ATR 72-300 qui percute une montagne avec 46 passagers ( jeudi 21 Fev )....une navette Margarita - Los roques qui se crash en mer avec 15 touristes Italiens....un autre qui casse son train d'atterissage au contact de la piste.....et j'en passe..j'en passe...... sans parler des colisions au sol, entre avions de ligne et de tourisme !!! ce genre de chose arrive une fois tous les 2-3 ans en France !!! là bas, c'est toutes les semaines !!!
C'est l'amérique du sud !!! la plupart de pilotes et controleurs ne parlent pas ou comprennent très mal l'anglais...mais il faut pas oublier que des compagnies etrangères se posent au Venezuela..donc.....
Et puis, gros probleme avec les aides radar, et de radio navigation qui ne fonctionnent pas....gros problemes de maintenance, d'organisation, de corruption dans les services...
Personnellement, je ne prendrais plus, et sous aucun pretexte, un vol interieur au Venezuela.
il n'y a pas d'autres moyens d'aller à Los roques..... c'est loin par bateau, et ne suis pas certain qu'il y ai des navettes, à moins d'avoir un riche ami possédant un bateau.....
Mais sincèrement, los roques, ca se fait une fois, il n'y a rien d'extraordinaire !..... il fait chaud, c'est sec et sans palmiers..... moi je préfère Tucacas et le parc naturel de morrocoy... tu y va en bateau, c'est pas cher, ya des cocotiers partout, et la mer est aussi jolie... vraiment c'est à faire !!
Voici quelques photo de la plage, et de ce que l'ont peut manger.... les pêcheurs vont pêcher le matin ou la nuit, et ramènent des langoustes^qu'ils découpent sur la plage devant vous, puis les rincent dans l'eau de mer, ils servent ca avec des crevettes, et plein de truc frais, avec une tite sauce du type cocktail !! .... pas besoin de se déplacer, ils font la plage de long en large pour vous servir tel quel sous un palmier !! elle est pas belle la vie ? !!
Ah oui ! y'a pas à dire, ça à l'air vraiment top ! C'est vrai que Los roques parait assez désertique...
Aurais-tu des endroits à me conseiller concernant l'hébergement, les activités et itinéraires que l'on peut faire etc... pour Tucacas et le parc naturel de morrocoy?
Tucacas, c'est le bled sur le continent d'où partent les navettes.... sur les petites îles comme morrocoy, ya pas grand chose à faire, sinon, plongée, et bronzette !
Pour l'hénergement, soit tu trouves un petite posada à tucacas, soit tu enmènes ta tente pour camper sur morrocoy, ya plein de campeur là bas, et plus économique que de rentrer sur le continent tous les soirs, même si ca prends 30 minutes. Sinon, il y a aussi un énorme parc naturel, qui se fait en barque avec un petit toit, pour la visite, on se croirait dans la jungle, avec plein de petits canaux, les pêcheurs viennent pecher les huitres le matin , celles qui te seront servies sur la plage.... lors de la visite, le gars qui est aussi pêcheur, t'en sors de l'eau autant que tu veux, et en plus il te les ouvre !
Me voilà... petite info pour tous ceux qui lirons ce message...... Au vénézuela, et bien entendu partout autour du monde...... malheureusement nombreux sont les toursites qui achètent des coquillages en guise de souvenir..... c'est légitime, car nous voulons tous ramener quelque chose de typique du pays........ ce petit quelque chose qui finira dans 90% des cas plein de poussière au fond d'une vitrine ou étagère..... ai-je raison ???? vous savez bien que oui......... Mieux vaut ramener quelque chose d'artisanat local, plutot que d'acheter un squelette de la faune sauvage..........
POur info... si vous voyez des étoiles de mer sur Los Roques... des énormes étoiles de mer..... vous devez savoir, que les sortir de l'eau pendant plus de 3 minutes, les destinent à la mort inévitablement.... et oui !!!!!!!
Sachez les apprécier dans leur milieu naturel uniquement..... respectez la faune !!...... Elle est déjà bien trop menacée par nos industries, qui pourrissent notre planète.....
Les souvenirs, il y en a plein les rues au Vénézuela..... préférez les artisanats nobles.... en coco, hamacs tissés main.... ne faites pas travailler les braconniers des espèces naturelles protégées !!
De plus, la guardia vénézuelienne ( la garde nationale ) va vous fouiller 3 fois avant d'entrer dans l'avion avant de quitter le pays..... là bas, ca ne plaisante pas !! Même le sable que vous allez prélever sur les archipels pour mettre dans un joli vase dans votre salon est protégé ! Imaginez 10 million de touristes qui emportent 1 verre de sable !!!!! sur un atol qui a déjà du mal a se maintenir au dessus de l'eau, en plus avec le réchauffement climatique !!!! dans 50 ans à ce rythme, il n'y aura plus d'atol !!!! et une fois de plus, ce sera la faute de l'homme !!!!
Soyez responsable sur ce fait.... et profitez de la faune différement, dont voici une jolie photo pour le plaisir des yeux...... si vous la mettez à l'air libre....... c'est comme si vous aviez la tête plongée dans l'eau au point de vous noyer.... ce sont des espèces rares...
Quand je suis arrivé au vénézuela, j'ai trouvé une tortue emprisonnée dans un petit aquarium aussi petit qu'une boîte à chaussure !!!! Elevée petite, elle n'avait aucune chance de survivre dans un milieu naturel..... elle avait tellement grandi, qu'elle ne pouvait même plus se retourner dans sa petite prison... on rencontre aussi ce soucis en France avec les abrutis qui achètent de petites tortues pour Noêl, et au bout de quelque temps, finissent par s'en débarasser dans la rivère du coin !!! Même constat pour les oiseaux, les chiens et chats avant le grand départ des vacances !!!!
Voici comment j'ai passé mes vacances au vénézuela...... j'ai donné ce que je pouvais à cette tortue, en ayant sensibilisé les propriétaires... j'ai fais ce que j'ai pu.... je ne réglerais probablement pas la misère animale et humaine de la terre, mais un mur se construis, pierre par pierre.....
J'ai construis un bassin pendant 15 jours, avec les moyens du bord... payé le ciment et les fournitures, et croyez moi, au vénézuela, ya pas de Leroy Merlin ou de Castorama !! Une misère pour trouver les matériaux !!!!
Récupération d'une vieille bassine fendue, que j'ai du colmater avec de la résine maison.... une terasse béton avec galets, grillage enclos pour la proteger des chiens, structure avec pierres et beton dans le bassin avec rampe pour sortir de l'eau sans efforts... voyez plutôt les photos... ca en dit plus qu'un long discours !!! juste pour info... les gallets, je les ai ramené de la plage de choroni dans mon sac à dos !!! hahahahaha
Les photos montrent la tortue dans son enclos pendant que le ciment devait secher, et avant la mise en eau du bassin...... quand j'ai quitté le vénézuela, tout était sec, et la tortue s'est sentie très bien !!! hahaha
Et une bonne prise de conscience pour la population locale......... là bas, des chiens percutés par les voitures, on en trouve tous les kilomètres, sur ces putains d'autopista ( double voies ) pas éclairées avec des trous énormes sur la route... même en campagne en France, on trouve pas des routes comme là bas !!!

Quand j'ai quiité le pays, malgré tous les hamburgers que j'ai pu laisser à mes potes les chiens qui étaient dans la rue, après ce chantier ( j'ai quand même profité du pays sans passer mon temps dans le ciment ), j'ai pris l'avion pour la France avec un sentiment d'avoir fait quelque chose !!!! Depuis, j'ai des nouvelles de la tortue ( famille de ma femme ) , elle a grossie comme une vache !!!! et est en bonne santé !!!!!
je me permet d'intervenir car je ne peux pas laisser dire qu'il n'y a rien d'extraordinaire aux Roques.
IL est vrai que je l'ai déjà fais à deux reprises en voilier à partir de la Martinique et c'est vraiment un endroit merveilleux.
Si vous adorez la mer, les plages de sable blanc et le snorkeling, vous pouvez partir de Grande Roques avec une barques à moteur et vous renre dans une des nombreuses iles de archipel.
Vous avez egalement dans la parti Sud Ouest une ferme à tortue ou si vous avez de la chance vous participerez à un lacher dans la mer de tortues.
Si vous etes perceverant vous pouvez même nager avec des tortues.
LES FONDS MARINS SONT MERVEILLEUX, sans parler des langoustes que vous trouvez facilement et qui permettent de changer votre ordinaire.

Day 1: Arrival in Santiago, then a flight the next day to Balmaceda where we'll pick up a rental car to reach Coyhaique.
Day 3: Walk in the Coyhaique National Reserve, then continue to Puerto Chacabuco. Return to Coyhaique for the second night.
Day 4: Drive to Villa Cerro Castillo for a hike in the national park. Continue to Puerto Tranquilo and stay there for 3 nights.
Day 5: Boat tour on Laguna San Rafael.
Day 6: Day trip to Monte San Valentin Glacier.
Day 7: Excursion to the Marble Chapels, then drive to Puerto Guadal. We'll stay there for 3 nights.
Day 8: Walk along Lago Carrera and return to Puerto Guadal.
Day 9: Rio Baker Valley and, if possible, a glacier excursion.
Day 10: Drive to Cochrane and hike in Tamango National Reserve. We'll stay 2 nights in Cochrane.
Day 11: Walk in the Chacabuco Valley.
Day 12: Drive to Caleta Tortel. We'll stay there for 2 nights.
Day 13: Cruise in the Rio Baker delta.
Day 14: Return to Cochrane.
Day 15: Return to Balmaceda in two stages.
Day 16: Continue the return journey.
Day 17: Return the rental car and head back to Santiago.
After this, we're also planning to explore northern Santiago. I'll post about that part once I have a clearer idea of the route.
What do you think of this itinerary? Is it doable in 17 days?

After lots of research and quotes, it’s the only one offering Uyuni at a reasonable price while meeting all the criteria: transfer to the border, private-room accommodation, and a very fair rate. Hi everyone, French travelers in Chile—what credit cards do you use for your various car rentals in the country? I’m traveling in September and was planning to switch my regular debit card (a VISA PREMIER in deferred debit mode) for the deposit guarantee.
My rentals are with Figal in Punta Arenas, Econautos in Arica, and Chilean Rent a Car in Temuco, and all of them want the deposit on a credit card. For me, deferred debit *should* work, but I’ve read comments saying the opposite.
How’s it actually working on the ground with these rental companies right now? Will a deferred debit card work, or not at all?
In France, banks don’t issue credit cards, right—or am I mistaken?

I’m desperately looking for info on the schedules and routes of (shared) boats to visit the islands of Lake Titicaca.
From what I’ve found, there’s a *combi* (bus) that leaves from Puno to go to Llachon. Where do you catch it? What are the schedules and frequency? Does it take about 1 hour?
Then in Llachon, you can take a boat to Amantani (45 min). Same question—where do you check for frequency and schedule?
After that, from Amantani, boats go to Taquile and then Uros. Do you have enough time to visit the islands between two boats? Frequency and schedule?
The goal is to do this tour independently (no agency) over 2 days. Thanks for any tips you might have!
I just got back from a trip to Bolivia and wow—what a wake-up call. It’s not the easiest country, but it’s absolutely stunning.
I started with Isla del Sol, perfect for easing into the altitude at a relaxed pace. Try to stay in the northern part of the island—it’s quieter and the views are insane. And the trout there? Unreal. Quick tip: bring cash in small bills; they almost never have change, and cards are rarely accepted.
Next up, La Paz. The city’s pretty wild, built in every direction. I did a few hikes in the area, including the famous Charquini Lagoon (the blue lake) at over 5,000 m—let’s just say I struggled 😅 but it was so beautiful it was totally worth it.
After that, I headed to Sajama. It’s cool, especially for the hot springs, and I stayed in Tomarapi. But honestly, if you’re short on time, you can skip it without too many regrets.
The highlight of the trip: the Salar. I did it starting from Tupiza, and I *highly* recommend going Tupiza → Uyuni. Way less crowded at the start and the landscapes are super varied. For the tour, I used SplitYourGuide to find a group, and it worked out great. Super handy for splitting costs and meeting people.
I wrapped up in Sucre—this city is gorgeous, all white, with such a chill vibe. And the salteñas + ice cream? Next level 😋
Bottom line: Bolivia’s a bit rough around the edges, sometimes exhausting (shoutout to the altitude), but it’s 1000% worth it.

I was planning to go to Réunion and stay in half-board accommodation with non-professionals, but it seems that’s not really the custom there—or maybe my budget isn’t big enough.
So, since I’ve already traveled around Ecuador and Peru, I’m now looking at Argentina, especially for its mountains (like the ones in Réunion that tempted me, even though—frustratingly—I could only admire them from below).
I plan to get around by bus and don’t know in advance where I’ll sleep, so I won’t book ahead. If I like a place, I might stay for several days.
I know that in Chile, it’s easy to find half-board accommodation, but what about in Argentina?
I’d like to stay with locals in half-board without it being a professional setup. I’m not sure if this is common practice there. It’s up to me to find someone willing to host me.
What do you think?

We’re heading to Patagonia for three weeks in November, starting from Coyhaique in Chile.
We won’t have a car, and I’m struggling to find information about transportation options for a few parts of the itinerary we’d like to do:
1) From Perito Moreno (the town, near Los Antiguos), we’d like to travel down Ruta 40 to visit Perito Moreno National Park and then cross into Chile via the Paso Roballos (at the latitude of Bajo Caracoles) to reach the road to Cochrane. Without a car, it seems we’ll need to use private agencies to get to the national park—do you have any recommendations or suggestions? Also, does anyone know if it’s possible to cross into Chile via Paso Roballos (from Bajo Caracoles) without a rental car? That is, without having to go all the way down to El Chaltén or back up toward Perito Moreno/Los Antiguos, etc.?
2) The second stretch that seems a bit tricky (though still easier, in theory) is from Caleta Tortel to Villa O’Higgins on the Chilean side. Do we have to go back through Cochrane, or are there ways to get directly from Tortel to Villa O’Higgins?
3) Finally, we’d like to hike into Argentina (El Chaltén) from O’Higgins. Any recommendations for this? Do we need to go through an agency? What’s the estimated duration of the trek?
As you’ve probably gathered, we want to visit some off-the-beaten-path spots but don’t have a car, so we’re looking for the best possible compromises.

we’re planning a round trip from San Pedro de Atacama, Chile, to Salta, Argentina, in two months. On the way there, we’ll take the northern route via Susques, Route 27, then 52. But for the return, we were thinking of taking the southern route via San Antonio de los Cobres, Route 51, then 23. Is it similar to the northern route in terms of road surface? How busy is it, and are there gas stations? Basically, should we be worried about doing it in an SUV that’s supposedly 4x4 but has regular road tires and no second spare wheel, obviously...
I’ve seen that we can stop over in San Antonio de los Cobres.

What advice would you give us: the south with Itaparica, Morro de São Paulo, Boipeba, Barra Grande—or all four? Or maybe the north?

We’re spending 3 weeks in Brazil, arriving in São Paulo—a couple plus a teen—and we’ll have a rental car.
We especially love nature: hiking, wildlife watching, birds, etc.
We’re planning to wrap up with a week around Paraty and Ilha Grande.
We’re not really into visiting big cities like São Paulo or Rio unless you think we’d be missing out big time.
So we’ve got 2 weeks to explore the south/southwest region of São Paulo.

Three years ago during a trip to Java (no, I didn’t post in the wrong forum!), I came across the address of former miners who had switched to “tourism” and organized nighttime ascents of the Kawah Ijen volcano and descents into the crater.
So I was thinking—maybe there are miners on the salt flats too, either former or still active, who do the same thing. If you’ve had an experience like this, I’d love any tips you can share.

Hi there, since there isn’t much recent info on how to get to MP, I’d love to know if there have been any improvements to the "route" to Hydroelectrica. Is it feasible to drive there in February? And is it still possible to walk all the way to Aguas Calientes? I think I read somewhere that it’s no longer allowed??
Do you think I can buy Machu Picchu entrance tickets last-minute at that time of year, given the weather?
