Nous partons 4 semaines et cette année, nous voulons voyager COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL (l'Inde l'été dernier nous ayant mis sur les genoux !!!!! mais que nous avons pu faire grace à quelqu'un de ce site qui nous a plus que renseigné à merveille :-))
En bref, se poser, profitez des gens, de la plage, visiter en douceur, plongée.
Mais sur quelle ile ? et comment se déplacer d'ile en ile ? cout ? temps ?
Merci de vos conseils, expériences et infos à tous et à toutes.
Nous ne recherchons pas le luxe (pas les moyens) ni les plans "dortoir sans eau chaude etc". Nous cherchons un juste milieu et adorons les endroits typiques et loin de la foule.

Pour ma part, un mois avec un ado, nous avons suivi l'itinéraire suivant : Manille -> Coron -> Palawan -> Cebu (+ une incursion à Negros) -> Bohol -> Manille.
Nous avons voyager en avion de Manille à Busuanga, de Puerto Princessa à Cebu et de Cebu à Manille.
A notre grand regret, il n'y avait pas de vol entre Busuanga et El Nido (8 heures de banca, c'est folklorique mais ça lasse; bon souvenir tout de même) .
Nous n'avons pas traîné mais sans plus.
Pour la plongée, nous avons adoré Coron et .... Bohol.
Si vous avez besoin de renseignements, n'hésitez pas.
Sur mon profils il y a un lien sur mon compte rendu de voyage; j'y retourne en février, je ferai un autre compte rendu.
Bohol, siquijor sont facilement accessibles en fast ferry. Negros aussi par contre les trajets en bus sont un peu plus long et parfois avec changements; de negros je connais Dumaguete (une ville sympas sans plus) et Sugar beach à Sipalay; un endroit très calme et agréable.
Siquijor, mon île préférée pour le moment; j'adore.
Bohol, il faut que j'approfondisse; mais ne rates pas le conservation center pour voir les tarsiers, mimi comme tout.
En février, je ferai aussi bantayan, cagayan de oro et caminguin; la suite à mon retour😉
Pour palawan, je ne connais pas encore mais d'autres te renseigneront.
Attention, août saison cylonique; adaptes ton itinéraire en conséquence; mais visayas et palawan sont moins exposés.

les guides achetés à paris sont "pauvres" en doc je trouve et ne donnent pas vraiment d'indication.
je vais donc me fier à 100% à vosu tous sur ce forum.....comme chaque année en fait ! et ça fonctionne TB !

Ben perso j'adore Siquijor; mais après les gouts et les couleurs😉
Des tarsiers il y en a ailleurs; même ailleurs en Asie je crois; mais les espèces sont différentes. Disons qu'à Bohol au conservation center, c'est le plus simple pour les voir pour un 1er voyage, et surtout d'y aller ça aide ce centre à préserver ces mignones petites bêtes🙂
Denis te parlera mieux de Bantayan; moi je pourrai t'en parler un peu à mon retour fin février😉

Aux Phil en ce moment (sur Caminguin island) et en route depuis le 20 sep 2009, voilà peut être qlq idées d'itinéraires.
Tu ne cites pas caminguin ds ta liste et pourtant cette ile vaut le déplacement (Regarde mon poste : ds la partie Achat d'une carte sim? (Philippines) rp que je donne a Alex
Comme tu vises les Visayas, j'en déduis que ton vol sera Paris > CEBU et non Manille.
De CEBU le plus simple serait de monter en bus vers HAGNAYA au depart du Bus terminal Nord (140 P) - durée 2 à 3 hrs
Ensuite Bateau vers Sta Fe sur Bantayan. (Il y en a plusieurs pdt la journée - 165 P)
Tu y mangeras tres très bien chez denis, tu peux loger juste a coté pour 650 P la nuit en Bungalow/2 p avec air co.
Prévois de prendre avec toi suffisament de pesos pour ton sejour sur cette ile, cela t'évitera de devoir te rendre à Bantayan City (13 Km)seul ATM de l'ile.
Loisir :
Tour à moto (entre 250-350P/jours) suivant nombre de jour,
Piscine et grotte au ogtong cave ressort (120P - la journée) - l'Hotel est trop cher mais coté repas/boisson cela va et c bon.
Pour la plongée demande a Denis
De la tu peux aussi te rendre a Malapasccua island (3500 P) puis retour vers CEBU ou direct Cebu
Mais de CEBU tu as aussi d'autres possibilités
CEBU > Dumaguete (NEGROS) ou > Tagbilaran (BOHOL) ou > Caminguin island
Un parcours ordonné serait par exemple
Cebu > Balbagon/Caminguin (5 jours) - mais superferry 1x pr sem
1x par jour : Balbagon/Caminguin > Jagna (Bohol) - 200 P en 4 hrs si promo sinon 380 P. Il y a aussi superCat de Benoni à jagna (2 hrs - 380 P)
Bus ou Van air co de Jagna à Tagbilaran (ICM) 60 ou 80 P/P - 3 hrs et 1:30 hrs
REM : Si tu veux une place ds un Van quand il y en a ne tarde pas pour descendre du bateau. (Grosse Valise = 1 place payante)
Bohol : 2 nuits et un jour te suffiront pour faire les chocolat hills + tarsier + rivière loboc, certains proposes mm de faire en plus sagbayan peak à toi de voir. (3000 à 3500 P en van air co)
Un hotel correct pour 1 ou 2 nuit a tagbilaran est le EL portal inn ou les chambre avec TV et air co son proposée à 975 P. C'est souvent la que je descend.
Si mtt tu veux faire de la plongée + randonnée alors je te renvois vers Yappen (Yannick-FR) et le villa Belza sur Panglao
Beau et Nv ressort AVEC bungalow au bord d'une belle piscine a 900 M de la plage. Bungalow proposé à 1800 P mais tu y trouveras un excellent service bien moins cher qu'ailleurs. (Moto a 400 P/J au lieu de 800 P - Tour en Van air co à 2400 P (au lieu de 3000 à 3500 P)
Il propose aussi la plongée. Vous pourrez y manger à la Française ou Phil ... Bar très complet.
De Tagbilaran/bohol tu peux mtt rejoindre dumaguete 2x par jour, je pense.
Ville tres sympa et intéressante pour le choping/Boutique, ses nombreux resto d'expath (suisse, italien, allemand) mais aussi qlq resto Phil qui propose des poissons variés. Disco le soir au Why NOT ou je te recommande le resto
A dumaguete city, Tout se fait en rila ... un seul prix (7P) - Ne pas prendre les rila qui chassent les touristes au port (ils te demanderont 100 P). Sort du port, monte et rend toi au coco grande (tres belle hotel, bien tenu a 500 M du centre ville) 1100 P/ch avec air co.
Coté plage de zamboagita à San jose : tres deçu et sale. On nous avait conseillé SIPALAY, bien plus loin, mais trop loin, nous n'y avons pas été. (Une autre fois surement)
Pour la plongée APO island : Tu peux dem une rila 25P/P ou prendre une jeepney (20P) puis le bateau 425 P/P si il y a d'autres touriste = prix partagé sinon le catamaran coute 1700 P pour 4 P mais aussi pour 3. (Partir tot)
De Dumaguete vers siquijor (Un tour a moto s'impose)
ou retour vers CEBU et VOL ou bateau de CEBU > Palawan que je ne connais pas.
Voila j'espère que cela t'aidera déjà ...
PS : pour Caminguin, prendre de l'argent avec vous car un seul ATM (PNB) qui ne prend que les cartes VISA PAS les Master Card (Nous venons de l'apprendre).

En fait si je ne t'ai pas donné les horaires des bateaux, c'est parceque tu ne pars qu'en Aout 2010.
D'ici la bien des choses auront changé coté horaire. J'avais aussi préparé notre ittinéraire début SEP 2009 et arrivé a MNL le 21 a cause des Typhons, tout a été remis en question. On lieu de quitté MNL le 28 on est aprti seulement le 05 octobre bloqué par des innondations en prov de bulacan et au lieu de faire le tour MNL, bantagas, Mindoro, Baracay, romblon et alentour ... on est directement parti vers Cagayan de Oro.

Ils écrivent tout séparément comme NEGROS Navigation qui renseigne :
MNL dep X > Cagayan de Oro Arrivé X+46 hrs (Cabine Amiral 2P = 4500 P tt compris) mais en fait il fait escale a Iliilo, Bacolod et CEBU et arrive a X +55 hrs par beau temps.
Comme on arrivait en théorie a 06 Am, on aurait pu prendre la correspondance a 08Am pour Caminguin
Vu le retard on a donc du passé une nuit a cagayan pour prendre le bateau le lendemain - rien de bien grave si tu n'as rien réservé a l'avance.
-Camigin (on peut le faire de dumaguete ?)
NON soit au départ de Jagna/BOHOL (tt les jours) soit CEBU (A/R 1x/sem), soit cagayan de oro (tt les jours)De dumagete tu peux aussi te rendre à Dipolog
De siquijor, il y a aussi une navette vers dumaguete 2 ou 3 fois par jour et Vice versa.

Il te renseignera sur Bantayan; mais un truc est sur; pas d'avion cébu-bantayan; il faut prendre bus (4 à 5h je crois) puis ferry (1h).

Le bus part du terminal nord a cebu, il ne met que 2:30 à 3 hrs jusqu'a Hagnaya
Essayes donc d'être au terminal avant 09 hrs. Dès qu'il est plein il prend la route (ceres .... 140 ou 170 P)
En octobre 2009, les bateaux Hagnaya > sta fe partaient à 9, 11, 13:00 et 15 hrs, je pense mm qu'il y en a encore un a 17 hrs (165 P)
En oct pas d'avion pour bantayan et à ma connaisssance c toujours ainsi.
Taxi:
Comme a notre arrivé au terminal (vers 09:30) le bus était bondé et vu nos bagages, nous avons aussi dem le prix d'un taxi.
3000 P au depart. On lui a proposé 1500, il a répondu 2000 P, 1700 P on a fixé le prix a 1800 P.
Le chauffeur avait enclenché son compteur : 775 P a l'arrivée x2 = 1550 P
S''il se trouve qlq pour le retour c tout benef pour lui ... sinon il aura gagné 250 P.
On est parti avant le bus mais notre taxi n'étant plus de première jeunesse ... le bus nous a doublé (il roule comme des fous) et nous sommes arrivé vers 11:45 après le bus 😕
Pour le retour nous avons prix le bus ... 3 hrs de trajet mais des taxis nous ont proposé leur service à 1500, 1200 et puis 1000 P ss devoir discuter.

1/ HONG KONG
Ultra facile, tout est fait pour les voyageurs, bus, metro, taxi, ferry, vous pourrez tout faire avec la carte OCTOPUS (même achetez à boire dans les 7Eleven).
Cette carte se vent à l'aéropirt (hall arrvicé, juste devant le METRO) et n'importe ou dans les métro, bus, ferry.....
elle coute 50 HKD au depart (caution) et vous mettez ce que vous voulez sur cette carte 100, 150 HKD...... Vous pouvz la recréditez QUAND vous voulez et n'impotte ou.
A la fin du voyage, on vous la REMBOURSE n'importe ou (moins 7 HKD qu'il garde). TOPISSIME
Si vous allez vers TSIM TSA TSUI, a l'aéroport, prendre le bus A21 (juqu'à 23h30) ou N21 (de nuit) il vous emmene direct à TSIM TSA TSUI en 20 mn.
J'ai séjourné au CITY GUEST HOUSE (Chuncking mansion 34 nathan road à Tsim Tsa Tsui. - block D)
TOP, pirx ultra modéré, certe, chambre toute petite mais drap et serviette changés tous les jours, cafetiere et internet gratuit 24h/24h, douche chaude et dans un quartier ULTRA SYMPA, avec shopping jusqu'à minuit et à seulement 15 mn de marche de Jordan, ladies market et market night.
Ils vous attendent meme au pied de l'arret de bus si vous arrivez tard le soir avec une pancarte à votre nom !!!!
PRIX = 8 euros la nuit par personne
EXCELLENTE ADRESSSE pour ceux qui n'ont pas trop de fric mais veulent du PROPRE
2/ PANGLAO - ALONA BEACH
sejour à BOHOL SEA RESORT. Propre, piscine, joli jardin, les chambres commencent à partir 600 PH et sont NEGOCIABLE
Plage pleine d'algue, certe, mais ambiance tres sympa le soir ou tous les restos posent des tables dans le sable et des musiciens jouent de la tres bonne musique
location de moto pour une journée : négocié 500 PH la journée
3/ SIQUIJOR
LE REVE ABSOLU !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
de PANGLAO à SUIQUIJOR, nous étions 5, on a négocié ne bna à 3000 PH pour faire la traversée entre les 2 iles.
les types sont fiables, à l'heure et c'est topissime
On a logé dans un hotel de reve LA CASA DE LA PLAYA.
bungalow avec terrasse sur la plage face à un lagon à tombé par terre pou 1000 PH la nuit.
Les tortues viennent sur laplage la nuit..........
à SIQUIJOR, il y a une plage de reve ou ON NAGE AVEC LES TORTUES, c'est la plage de SALAGDOONG, difficile à trouver seule en moto (prix moto la journée 400 PH) mais c'est juste avant le pont MARIA et ça veut le détour !!!!!!!!! il y a juste 2 hotels ici.
A voir à SUIQUIJOR, les water falls et surtout les caves de CANTABON, tres impressionnant
4/ SIPALAY, SUGAR BEACH
on arrive en banca a DUMAGUETE et ensuite, 6 heures de bus jusq'uà SIPALAY. (prix bus 100 Ph par personne), il faut canger 2 fois de bus mais c'est super bien indiqué !!!!!
idem, banca négocié pour 3000 PH pour nous emmner la bas (5 personnes + no 5 valises)
nous avons séjourné à DRIFFTWOOD VILLAGE ou Petr, le patron est topissime !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Village typique et d'une gentillesse à tomber par terre.
vous pouvez prendre une banca et plonger sur une épave
seulement 5 hotels à SUGAR BEACH, le sulu sunset, drifftwood village, le Takitaka, le Bermuda
chambre à partir de 500 PH

nous, on a fait la bêtise d'y aller en trycicle, super, on nous a laissé sur une plage (car pas de route) puis on a pris une petite banca pour traverser un bras de mer puis on a marchéééééééééééééééééééééééééééééééééééééé sur600m avec nos valises dans le sable !
ATTENTION : PAS DE DISTRIBUTEUR SUR CETTE ILE ET AUCUN HOTEL NE PREND DE CB !!! avoir du CASH (sauf peter qui nous a fait confiance au drifftwood village et accepté qu'on paye à notre retour en france!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) véridique

nous n'avions aucune résa, SAUF pour HK
la saison : excellente meme s'il pleut toutes les nuits
l'eau atteint un degré indécent ( 30° .....ou plus)
la gentillesse des philippines est EXTRAORDAIRE .... 25 ans que je voyage dans le monde, je n'ai jamais vu ça !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
il me reste 6997 iles à visiter...... sur les 7000..... j'y retourné NOEL !

The tourism setup there is so well-organized that it’s the most "comfortable" country for a short visit. Thailand feels too sanitized for my taste, and there’s too much religion, Buddha, and the King, but it’s still the best option given how my health has been evolving. I’d considered two weeks in ThaTon for hiking, but I got too sick from the burn-offs during my trips to the mountains around Chiang Rai. So I’m not sure where to go this year. Definitely not the sea, touristy spots, or the mountains with burn-offs...

- Is the road network more developed now? Back then, there was only National Route 1 from south to north. I’m thinking of renting a car this time (no motorbike with the family—though in ’96, they had a Jawa sidecar for sale, and we hesitated… maybe it’s for the best).
- Is Halong Bay really something to avoid because of overtourism? Even back then, it was pretty crowded. Is there a less touristy alternative?
- We’ll be traveling from Hanoi down to Danang (the only city we didn’t stop in back in ’96). Even though it’s a bit overhyped in a Chinese-tourist kind of way (from what I’ve read), we’re only going for the beach—pure relaxation for 7 days. The beaches are stunning, and I know the South China Sea is warm like coffee.
- Then, we’ll visit Hoi An, where I stopped in ’96. It was already popular with backpackers back then, but no glowing boats or all the touristy fuss!
- After that, Hue, where I have great memories—it’s a beautiful city.
- And also the nature around Ninh Binh, followed by 2-3 days in Hanoi.
That’s the plan. I’d love to hear any tips to avoid mass tourism, and if anyone’s done this before:

I’m struggling to wrap up the end of my itinerary, even though it’s pretty straightforward (long but simple).
Last year, we did Malaysia (KL and the mainland + around Kuching).
Day 1 – Arrive in Kota Kinabalu early, stroll around town and hit the must-sees.
Day 2 – Excursion to Tunku Abdul Rahman Park, snorkeling at 3 islands.
Day 3 – Hike around Mount Kinabalu without summiting (450 per person, no way).
Day 4 – Poring Hot Springs + evening flight to Sandakan.
Day 5-6-7 – Kinabatangan River (still looking for the right guide).
Day 8 – Sepilok for the orangutans, the Sun Bear Centre, and Rainforest Discovery Centre.
Day 9 – Selingan, turtle island.
Day 10 – Head to Semporna.
Day 11-12-13-14 – Sipadan, Mabul, Kapalai.
Day 15 – Bohey Dulang.
Day 16 to Day 25: I’M STUCK.
I looked into Danum Valley, but for 3 days/2 nights, they’re quoting 650 € per person—come on, that’s ridiculous.
I checked out a detour into Indonesia (still East Borneo), but I’m having trouble deciding what would be amazing.
I read about Sangalaki + Kakaban (2 islands, 1 base) / Mahakam Delta - Kutai (orangutans and river) / Sungai Boh (Dayak Kayan) – jungle & culture.
But honestly, I’m struggling to finalize this itinerary.
If we venture that way, we’d head back to KK from Balikpapan.
For a 4-month stay in Egypt, I had ENORMOUS problems. The regulations are very bureaucratic and extremely nitpicky there. For a 4-month stay in the Philippines, I was wondering if the procedures are just as complicated? I’m bringing my cell phone with an eSIM. Should I choose a plan from Canada for use in the Philippines, or should I get a plan only once I arrive? After 30 days, do I renew with the Canadian provider I chose before leaving, or do I switch to a local company? Do I need to register my phone with the authorities in the Philippines? (That was the case in Egypt.) For the 3rd and 4th months, will it be just as simple—renewing with a Canadian or local provider—or should I expect problems?

We like to decide things on the spot and go with the flow, without rushing everywhere. But I’m still a bit unsure: when heading down to the center (Hue), is it better to book the overnight trains in advance? We don’t want to take any flights while we’re there—just use the overnight train for the long trips. But I’m worried we won’t get seats if we buy the tickets on the spot, say, 2 days before. I’d love to get some feedback on our itinerary—it’s probably pretty basic! This is our second trip to Asia and our first to Indonesia. We have three kids aged 20, 18, and 12. We land in Jakarta at 4 PM, spend 3 nights/2 days there, then take the train to Yogyakarta for 3 nights/2 days, followed by the train to Surabaya for 2 nights/1 day, then the train to Bromo for 1 day/1 night, a private driver to Ijen for 2 nights/2 days, then on to Bali (Ubud) for 4 nights/3 days, followed by Gili Air for 3 nights/2 days, Senggigi (Lombok) for 2 nights, and finally 5 nights in Kuta. I’m considering cutting the 2 nights in Senggigi to just keep Kuta and extend it to 7 nights. In Lombok, I’m not sure how to get around since I’m not comfortable with scooters... Your thoughts on all of this, and any advice, are more than welcome—don’t hesitate!
For those wondering why cities like Jakarta and Surabaya: we don’t often get the chance to visit big Asian cities, so we wanted to include that discovery in our trip. The trains between Jakarta and Yogyakarta, Surabaya and Probolinggo are booked. The return flight from Lombok to Jakarta is also set. Accommodations are booked but flexible (same for the trains).

I’m currently working on a 30-day itinerary for May/June 2027.
10 days in eastern Java (Malang, Bromo, waterfalls, Meru Beriti Park, Banyuwangi, and Ijen), a short transit in Ubud for a few days, then Flores before heading back to Jakarta.
We’ll spend 15 days in Flores (the classic route: Moni, Bajawa, Riung, Ruteng, ending in Labuan Bajo).
I’d love some firsthand feedback on flights to Maumere or Ende from Bali Denpasar. I know there are no direct routes and that you have to connect through Labuan Bajo or Timor (I think), which isn’t an issue in itself.
But I’ve read here and there that flights to these destinations can be delayed—or worse, canceled—and that it’s better to fly in and out of Labuan Bajo, which isn’t exactly ideal...
