Alors je me présente en quelques mots : je suis étudiants de 23 ans en France (Marseille) en Ecole Supérieure d'Informatique (SUPINFO - qui est une école privée spécialisée en informatique implantée dans beaucoup de villes en France, et notamment avec quelques implantations à l'étranger dont Montréal, située en face de l'Université McGill si je ne me trompe pas).
Je souhaiterai venir passer une année à Montreal dans le cadre de ma 4ème année (le cursus se déroulant sur 5 ans, Bac+5), soit pour la rentrée scolaire 2011/2012 (octobre 2011), accompagné de ma copine de 18-19 ans (rien d'officiel entre nous) avec qui je vis depuis déjà un an.
Certes nous voudrions partir une année à Montréal, mais mieux que ça, nous envisageons même d'y rester quelques années, si ce n'est plus encore ! (Résidence permanente)
Première partie des questions : Partir à Montréal
Me concernant, rien de bien compliqué : Il faut que je fasse une demande du CAQ (Certification d'Acceptation du Québec), et ensuite une demande de permis d'étude, et permis de travail pour faire des stages en entreprise dans le domaine de l'informatique.
=> Concernant ma copine : faut-il aussi qu'elle fasse une demande du CAQ ? Si oui, est-on facilement accepté ?
J'ai entendu parlé du PVT (Programme Vacances Travail) valable un an. Il me semble que c'est une bonne solution pour elle (si ce n'est la meilleure ?) afin qu'elle puise venir à Montréal et travailler sans soucis. A noter qu'elle n'a pas de diplôme, mais a de l'expérience dans la restauration (serveuse), domaine dans lequel elle compte travailler également dans l'autre continent (elle n'est pas parfaitement bilingue mais se débrouille bien en anglais).
J'ai également entendu parler du "conjoint de fait", donc si nous arrivons à prouver que nous sommes ensemble depuis au moins un an, elle peut également obtenir un permis de travail vu qu'elle m'accompagne (étant étudiant) ? Entre le PVT ou le "conjoint de fait", il y a-t-il un meilleur moyen d'obtenir de façon sûre ce permis de travail ? Le permis de travail obtenu par l'un ou l'autre a-t-il la même valeur ? Ou un est-il "supérieur" à l'autre par exemple ? Qu'en est-il pour le VISA me concernant et la concernant ? En-ai besoin vu ma situation ? Elle, oui je suppose ? Comment ça se passe ?
Désolé pour toutes ces questions je n'ai jamais eu l'occasion de partir à l'étranger (sauf vacances en Europe), donc je ne sais pas trop comment fonctionne tout ça ...
Ceci était la première partie de mes questions pour lesquelles je vous serai très reconnaissant si vous pouviez m'éclairer là-dessus, en espérant avoir été assez clair, sinon je pourrais apporter des précisions si besoin.
Deuxième partie des questions : La vie à Montréal !
J'ai beaucoup appris en parcourant ce forum, mais quelques questions me trottent dans la tête ...
- Je possède le permis de conduire, faut-il le repasser là-bas pour pouvoir conduire ? Ma copine n'en possède pas, peut-elle le passer là-bas ? Si oui, combien coûte t-il ?
- Combien coûte en moyenne une voiture d'occasion ? (je sais, question très vague, mais je sous-entends par là, est-ce moins cher qu'en France ?) J'ai pu lire que l'on pouvait acheter aux USA des grosses voitures du genre Challenger Mustang etc pour environ 10000$, qu'en est-il ? Cependant j'ai compris que l'essence y était moins cher, point positif !!! (sûrement due au taxes moins élevées).
- Concernant les médecins, pourquoi faut-il attendre 2 ou 3 ans avant de s'en voir proposer un ? Je n'ai pas très bien compris ... En France quand nous sommes malade, on va voir un docteur puis on en parle plus ...
- Pour ma copine (qui cherchera dans la restauration en tant que serveuse, voir dans un bar au pire), le salaire tombe-t-il tous les moins ? demi-mois ? semaines ?
Si nous comptons rester après la première année, j'ai la possibilité de faire renouveler mon permis d'étude pour une année supplémentaire. Puis-je par la suite faire une demande de résidence permanente ? Une fois ceci acquis, je pourrais travailler comme bon me semble ? (car avec le permis de travail que j'aurai en même temps que le permis d'études, je ne pourrais travailler que dans le cadre de mon cursus scolaire, sous le "régime" de SUPINFO, donc pour faire des stages en quelques sortes). Ma copine pourra elle aussi renouveler son PVT ? Puis elle devra également faire une demande de résidence permanente ?
Ce sont pour l'instant les seules questions qui me viennent à l'esprit, mais je reviendrai vers vous le cas échéant.

Si elle vient pour étudier, oui. Autrement, il lui faut un autre statut, elle peut essayer les différents programmes d'échanges (PVT, perfectionnemment professionnel, voir le site de l'ambassade).

Oui, mais il faudra prouver la cohabitation de 12 mois en France (ex: bail conjoint).
Entre le PVT ou le "conjoint de fait", il y a-t-il un meilleur moyen d'obtenir de façon sûre ce permis de travail ?
Le PVT a un quota, il y a un # maximal de permis qui sont distribués par année. Pas de quota pour les permis accompagnateur.
Le permis de travail obtenu par l'un ou l'autre a-t-il la même valeur ?
Oui. C'est exactement la même chose.

Euh...non. Il y a des cliniques sans rendez-vous un peu partout, des sortes de cliniques de médecins de dépannage, où tu te rends si tu dois voir un médecin pour un problème quelquonque. Par contre, ce dernier n'assure pas de suivi médical. Si tu veux un médecin de famille, qui te suit régulièrement, te fait ton bilan et toujours avec le même médecin, c'est très difficile à trouver car il y a pénurie de généralistes.
Puis-je par la suite faire une demande de résidence permanente ?
Si tu obtiens un diplôme d'une université québécoise, tu te verras offrir le CSQ qui te permet de commencer un processus de demande de résidence permanente au fédéral. Cela donne le statut d'immigrant, donc oui tu peux travailler et vivre comme n'importe quel Canadien.

Je pense effectivement que nous allons opter pour le PVT pour ma copine qui me parait simple d'accès en demandant un dossier dès l'ouverture des inscription en octobre si j'ai bien compris.

- Il y a t-il des forfaits pour téléphones mobiles "iPhone" à Montréal ? (Internet illimité : 3G, etc). C'est un des outils que j'utilise le plus et il serait dramatique que je m'en sépare ^^
- J'ai entendu dire que pour avoir une équivalence de permis de conduire lorsqu'on possédait déjà le permis français, il fallait donner son permis français en échange de l'autre, mais est-il possible de le récupérer si jamais on devait retourner en France ? Ou est-il perdu pour toujours et restons nous avec le permis du Canada ?

If anyone knows the rates charged by movers for a crate to French Polynesia, or what pitfalls to avoid (I know you can get quotes directly from movers, but I’d love insights from actual customers😉).

Actually, I’m currently doing a postgraduate diploma in pediatric respiratory physiotherapy and want to specialize in that area.
