Hi, I’m looking for recent info about the track between Nkoud and Boumaine du Dadès via Tizi N'Tazazerte. Is it still a dirt track or is it now a paved road? Is it doable in April with a 4x4? Thanks for your tips, Best, Dominique

The road is fully paved now.

Yes, it’s a paved road—I did it in spring 2023. The southern side of the road offers an exceptional viewpoint over the Djebel Saghro.

Hi

I did it last week. It’s perfect and paved.

Note that the little café at the top just opened three brand-new rooms with shared bathrooms, if you want to sleep at the summit.

Hi Fangui, Is it the guesthouse at the summit or the one a few hundred meters lower down?

The guesthouse right at the top of the pass—I spent a night there. It’s very basic, but the welcome is warm, and the manager’s mother makes really nice bracelets, great for gifts. We had an amazing day with a breathtaking view of the Saghro.

I'm talking about the lodge at the top of the pass. It's brand new, with bedding and a bathroom. Seems totally fine to me

Hey hi Fangui, hope you're doing well...

Just down the road on the left, there’s also the Tirza guesthouse—cheaper but decent and quiet for admiring the Afezza canyon. We polished off a little box of red wine here with our mutual friend who left us too soon ( 😕 ) back in the days of the track...

Hi, is the road paved all the way between Tinghir and the summit?

Thanks

Hi,

Yeah, you’ve got two options now...

Either you take the paved road a few km after Boulmane Dades towards Tinghir... on the right... A turn-off before the pass... take a right, leave Iknioun on your right.

Or you take the paved road a few km after the center of Tinghir just before the new town that’s being built... on the left.... First paved turn-off... right towards Iknioun... If you take a left, a track... you’ll descend a stunning and very steep pass that’s not well known to tourists to reach Tourza (paved road Tinghir-Alnif) and you’ll arrive at the same turn-off as option 1... so you turn left...

Thanks!

So, is the road between Tinghir and Iknioun fully paved? And all the way to N'Kob too?
