Moi et mon ami avons acheté des billets pour Saint-Pétersbourg du 09 au 24 juillet prochain.
Nous découvrons qu'obtenir des visas est le parcours du combattant.
D'abord, nous n'avons pas encore réservé d'hôtel et nous organisons nous-mêmes notre voyage donc pas de passage par une agence touristique ou autre (donc pas encore de voucher ou d'invitation) - et j'ai pas encore bien compris la différence entre voucher et invitation.
Question : comment obtenir un visa dans ces délais (il nous reste 7 semaines) ? j'ai vu qu'il existe des agences qui divulguent des visas, mais laquelle est la plus fiable ? Quel est le coût global ? Parmi les documents à apporter pour le dossier de demande, y-en-a-il qui représentent une difficulté ?
Quels conseils pouvez-vous me donner ?

Pour un voyage touristique, c'est bien d'un voucher dont vous avez besoin, soit un justificatif couvrant l'ensemble de votre séjour en Russie (et pas un jour de moins). A partir de là, soit vous réservez un hôtel pour la totalité de votre voyage et vous voyez avec lui pour qu'il vous fournisse le voucher (parfois, moyennant un petit supplément, parfois gratuitement), soit vous vous procurez un voucher auprès d'une agence (comme nous n'habitons pas Paris et que nous passions par Action-Visas pour les visas, nous avons fait aussi appel à eux pour le voucher).
Pour le reste des documents, pensez à l'assurance : il vous faut un justificatif d'assurance pour la Russie, reconnue par les autorités russes. Je crois que les assurances liées aux cartes bancaires correspondent (mais c'est aussi le cas de beaucoup d'assurances-voyages), mais il vous faut faire la demande d'un justificatif pour chaque voyageur.
Enfin, une photo aux normes actuelles : les mêmes que pour les pièces d'identité françaises (mais je ne sais pas s'ils sont stricts sur les normes, je n'ai pas pris de risque).

Par contre les agences du type action-visa, home-visa ne délivrent actuellement pas de visa russes, car ils ont une surcharge de demandes qui est limitée par le Consulat russe.. Y en a -t-il d'autres qui pourraient en délivrer, ou au moins fournir un voucher ?
Du coup on doit trouver un voucher en urgence et aller nous-mêmes au consulat la semaine prochaine, d'où ma question : est-ce qu'une réservation d'une nuit seulement dans un hôtel de St Pet suffit pour obtenir le voucher nécessaire à la demande de visa ? Comment s'assurer que l'hôtel est bien "homologué" ?

J'avais contacté le consulat : il faut une réservation couvrant l'ensemble du séjour.
Ce qui m'a obligée à acheter le voucher.
POur les autres agences, j'en avais vu quelques unes sur internet, mais je n'ai testé qu'Action Visas (pas le moins cher, mais comme ils nous faisaient le visa aussi...)

Actuellement la situation au consulat russe à Paris est compliquée, semble-t-il à cause de négociation pour...supprimer les visas entre la Russie et l'espace Shenguen. En attendant il faut toujours un visa et le consulat semble tout faire pour rendre la procédure compliquée.
Pour un visa touristique il faut le voucher, l'attestation d'assurance, le formulaire rempli avec la photo collée dessus, une photocopie du passeport, et un programme détaillé pour les voyages de plus de 15 jours. Ils sont extremement pointilleux.
La queue au consulat est énorme et il semble qu'ils n'acceptent plus les demandes de visas d'agence. J'ai moi-même du y aller 3 fois : la première fois il manquait le programme détaillé, la deuxième je suis arrivé à 8h30 et je n'ai pas pu rentrer alors que les horaires sont 9h-12h. La troisième fois je suis arrivé à 6h et je n'étais pas le premier à entrer.
Je vous conseille donc d'avoir bien tous les papiers et de venir (très) tôt.
J'ai eu le visa normal en une semaine, il est possible de l'avoir plus vite en payant plus cher. Vous pouvez demander le voucher à votre hotel (si il le fait) ou à une agence en ligne (j'ai pris russian-concept car ils font aussi le programme détaillé), dans les deux cas ce sera payant. Le voucher n'est pas la reservation d'hôtel, vous pouvez avoir un voucher pour toute la durée même si vous restez seulement un jour à l'hôtel. L'attestation d'assurance pour être commandée gratuitement en une semaine sur le site internet de la carte VISA.
Merci beaucoup pour ces précisions, on a en effet vu que la situation au Consulat est très compliqué, d'autant qu'apparemment du personnel est absent et la file d'attente est très longue... 🙁

Le programme détaillé ne vous concerne pas si vous ne dépassez pas 15 jours en Russie selon le site du consulat. Ce qu'il vous faut c'est seulement le voucher qui couvre toute la durée de votre séjour. Vous pouvez l'acheter soit à l'hotel où vous passez les 2 premieres nuits si ils le font, soit à une agence. C'est un document un peu bidon mais tout à fait accepté et indispensable. Il faut le recevoir par fax et non par mail.
pour le visa:
1/ imprimer une demande sur le site de l'ambassade de Russie
l'mprimer en 3 ex ( attention au format, les bordures etc... ils sont pointilleux à moins de se déplacer pour le récupérer à l'ambassade)
2/ se pointer vers 8h pour faire la queue, ça ouvre à 9 h et ferme à 12 h
3/ Muni du billet AR et d'un passeport + 35 € si vous souhaiter patienter 8 jours (75 € je crois pour Visa express 2 jours)
4/ Un hébergement: l'hôtel doit vous en fournir sur demande, parfois payant (ex au Novotel de Moscou c'est gratuit) Si vous compter séjourner dans d'autres villes, il ya une agence qui fourni l'hébergement (payant) Vous risquez d'y retourner une 2ème fois parqu'il manque quelque chose ou simplement pour le fun ... pas + grave que ça
5/ On vous dira qu'il faut enregistrer le visa aux services de polices à l'arrivée: pas besoin

Est-ce quelqu'un a des nouvelles de l'état d'attente au Consulat ? Visiblement cette semaine, une baisse temporaire de l'effectif du personnel a engendré une panique à bord de tous ceux qui souhaitaient un visa, avec des files d'attente interminables.. Quelqu'un sait-il ce qu'il en est ?

donc pour le voucher, je suis passé par :Get Russian. j'espere que ce site est valable.
dans la demande de visa russe, à la ligne13, ils demandent le nom de la compagnie touristique et le numero de reference.
s'agit il de l'hotel ou l'on va , ou alors get russian et le numero de reference qu'ils nous envoient avec le voucher.

Il faut une attestation ORIGINALE (pas de photocopie) pour chaque demande de visa.
Bien demander à Europe Assistance 3 attestations aux noms de chacune des personnes, donc faire 3 demandes.

Pas de problème avec eux car c'est une petite structure gérée par des gens originaires de Russie.
Ils peuvent obtenir des invitations. L'invitation n'est pas délivrée plus de 45 jours avant la date d'entrée en Russie.
Effectivement il y a actuellement un faible débit pour déposer les dossiers.

Salut, voila comme prévu je suis allé ce matin à l'Ambassade Russe de Paris. Je suis arrivé à 8h00 et il y avait déjà 12 personnes devant moi. l'ambassade à ouvert à 9h00, ils ont fait d'abord rentrer un groupe de 20 personnes (demandes de visa + RDV qui ne font pas la queue). Je suis rentré avec le 2ème groupe 30min plus tard. Bien sûr y a la sécurité au début après il faut passer avec son dossier dans l'un des 3 guichets (5, 6, et 7), dépôt de dossier (pour ma part avec une demoiselle très charmante lol. J'ai demandé le visa express, elle a fait que retranscrire les infos rapidement dans son petit formulaire et vérifier rapidement le passeport(peut être à cause de la demande express), après elle m'a demandé de passer au guichet 8 pour payer (une fois qu'elle vous a dit ça, c'est bon, vous pouvez être sûr d'avoir le visa). On paye 74 euros maintenant pour ce genre de demande au lieu de 70 et seulement avec carte bancaire. On nous demande d'attendre 1h pour le visa. J'ai même pas attendu 15min pour l'avoir(on signe un document à la fin). Vers 9h45, j'étais déjà dehors avec mon précieux sésame :D

Vu le temps d attente pour faire la queue je deconseille d y aller juste pour savoir. Toutes les infos sont sur leur site web, le visa est obligatoire quelle que soit la voie d entree. Et si tu vas au consulat il faut imperativement tous les documents demandes sinon il faudra revenir.
La bureaucratie russe c est pas super drole 😉

Oublie le téléphone!!! J'ai essayé tous les jours d'appeler le service consulaire et y a que l’accueil qui répond et peut pas donner des renseignements sur le visa. Ni penses même pas par mail. Je te conseil de te déplacer sur place y a pas mieux. T'auras l'information de la source car à gauche ou à droite c'est pas sérieux, tu vas perdre ton temps pour rien et les informations sont erronées même le site officiel n'est pas très à jour!
Je te conseil d'aller un jour de la semaine, sauf le lundi et le vendredi où y aura beaucoup de monde. Va vers 8h00 du mat max, avant 9h30 t'auras tes infos sûrs. Au lieu de perdre ton temps à poser des questions dans les forums sans être sûr des réponses ;)
PS: Après plusieurs mois de paperasses, c'est LE meilleur conseil que je puisse te donner : "à chaque fois que t'as une question importante, d'aller te déplacer toi même sur place".
J'ai peut-être eu de la chance, mais après avoir posé une question par mail au service consulaire, j'ai eu rapidement la réponse souhaitée et après avoir demandé d'autres renseignements, idem.
Donc, ça peut quand même valoir le coup de tenter.

Il y a un formulaire à remplir, 1 exemplaire suffit, 1 photo d'identité également, pour ce qui est d'un visa tourisme moins d'1 mois en tout cas.
J'étais venu avec 2 exemplaires de chaque (j'avais lu ça ici et là avant de venir), et finalement, on m'a pris qu'un exemplaire, et une seule photo seulement, malgré mon air surpris.
De même, quelque chose qu'on ne sait pas forcément en revanche, il faut également apporter une photocopie du passeport (en sus du formulaire/ photo, assurance voyage/ voucher-invitation). Il y a une petite photocopieuse à l'ambassade, mais n'y comptez pas trop, surtout si vous avez pas de monnaie, (ça rend pas la monnaie lol).

I’ll explain my situation.
Unfortunately, I lost my passport, and I only realized it two weeks before my departure for a humanitarian mission in Libya. I’m a nurse, and this mission really means a lot to me.
First, I applied for an emergency passport, but it was denied by the Val-d'Oise prefecture on the grounds that a planned humanitarian mission wasn’t considered an urgent reason.
So, I submitted a biometric passport application on July 20th. Since then, the tracking has been stuck, and the town hall can’t (or won’t) give me any clear information. Every time I call, I get a different story. The last update I received was that the passport had been produced since July 23rd with a status of "about to be shipped," but nothing since then.
I’ve managed to push my departure back to next Tuesday at the latest, but I’m starting to really panic.
Have any of you submitted an application around July 20th, especially in Val-d'Oise (95)? How long did you wait between the passport being produced and it being available at the town hall? Is it normal for this step to take this long?
This mission means so much to me. I had everything organized, and I’m also supposed to attend a friend’s wedding right after near the border.

The information I’ve found about whether an international permit is required is contradictory. Some sources say you need one, others say you don’t.
Could anyone let me know if an international driver’s permit is necessary to rent a car in Australia (Perth), or if a French license is enough for a 7-day rental?
I’m a bit embarrassed because I need to travel to Quebec from February 27th to March 13th. I’m a regular visitor to Canada—this will be my 10th trip since 1997, plus a year as a permanent resident (2000–2001) and a cross-country run from Vancouver to Halifax in 2011. So, I’m definitely not a terrorist!
But since our last trip in July 2015, they’ve introduced this eTA thing. Seems more like a way to make money than to actually secure Canada, if you ask me, but anyway, that’s not the point.
I applied for an eTA for myself, my wife, and our two kids. They all got approved within hours, but not me! I was asked to create a GC key and then an IRCC account, which I did. Normally, you get news within 72 hours, but since Monday, January 15th, nothing!
In the "message" section of the account, it says "explanation letter (required)" with a deadline of January 25th, but I can’t find any explanation anywhere—despite searching the Canadian government website and Google. No links, nothing!
I’ve emailed them but haven’t heard back yet. I’m thinking of calling the Canadian embassy in Paris tomorrow. Even though I’m not stressing yet, it’d be a bummer if everyone else got to go without me!
If anyone’s had this issue before or knows what this explanation letter is about, I’d love to hear more.

I’m heading to Seoul in September, and to do that I need to get a travel authorization that we apply for through K-ETA....... turns out I can (barely, I admit) fill out the form up to the address of our "stay location," but every address I’ve entered has been rejected by the system. I’ve tried my hotel, the Lotte Hotel (which is well-known in Seoul), the airport—basically, I’ve entered at least 20 addresses, all rejected....
So, to anyone who’s successfully gotten the authorization, could you tell me which address you used to get that "elusive" approval?...

I’m planning a trip from France to Alberta/British Columbia, and I’m unsure about which bank card to use for the security deposit with the rental company (I’m thinking of going with AVIS).
I contacted Avis Canada, and they told me a credit card is absolutely required. I asked my bank for a credit card (a *real* credit card), but they only offered me a deferred debit card.
My question: For a rental with Avis Canada, is a Gold International Mastercard deferred debit card usable for the security deposit needed to finalize the rental? Is the "CREDIT" label enough? (Some cards say "CREDIT" and others say "CARTE DE CREDIT"—seems minor, but it’s actually a big deal in how the card works.)
I’ve seen conflicting info everywhere I look... My bank says it’s *usually* okay (the deferred debit card), while Avis Canada insists it *must* be a credit card, not debit—even when I mention the deferred debit card.
I know the whole credit card concept is already confusing, and on top of that, some sites say a deferred debit card counts as a credit card, while others say it doesn’t.

I bought a one-way flight (Ryanair) and a return flight (EasyJet) to spend a week in Morocco in April.
My passport expires 3 weeks after the return date.
Some websites say the passport must be valid for 3 months at the time of entry.
However, it will still be valid both on entry and return, but its validity will only be 1 month at the time of entry (and 3 weeks on the return date, everything prepaid).
It's an individual family trip.
The consulate can't give me an answer—they're still looking into it (really!)
Last year, we stayed for 3 months in Thailand, north of Khao Lak, and were able to benefit from the 2-month visa exemption, renewable for one month by going to Takua Pa to validate a 1-month extension (1,900 baht).
This year, it’s a disaster for us—not only were we planning a 4-month stay, adding a visa run in between (which some say is quite risky), but the law is apparently changing in the coming months with the return of the 1-month exemption (plus the usual 1-month option). So, we looked into applying for a 6-month multiple-entry visa, allowing a maximum of 60 consecutive days in Thailand. However, I can’t find anywhere the minimum time required outside Thailand between two stays—do any of you have an idea?

As a French national, I need to obtain a short-stay visa that can be converted to a long-stay one. To do this, I have to send the required documents to the Madagascar embassy in Paris.
No issues with that procedure so far.
If I get this visa, once I arrive in Madagascar, I’ll need to provide the same documents to the Ministry of the Interior in Anosy. I’m trying to find an email address or website for the Ministry to check which documents I need to submit (I think they ask for additional ones).

I’d like to know if anyone has already applied for a private visa to Russia with an invitation from a Russian resident.
I traveled earlier this year with an e-visa, but since I want to stay longer, I’ll be visiting my friend who lives in eastern Russia.
For the visa application, does the invitation need to be on an official paper form issued by the Russian ministry? And most importantly, do I need to present the original for the application, or is there an electronic version that can be sent directly to the consulate in France?

I filled out the B2 form to apply for a visa, created an account on Atvis to pay the visa fees and schedule a meet-up, but every time I try to pay with my Boursobank Visa 1st card, they refuse the payment with a message telling me to check my details (address), even though everything is correct. Does anyone know why this is happening, or maybe they don’t accept Visa cards? Are you aware of this?

On her ticket, it only has her maiden name (e.g., Martine DUPOND).
On her passport, it’s written as Martine DUPOND épouse AVRY.
No issues for travel, I hope I did the right thing with the ticket?
Then for the ESTA, is just Martine DUPOND enough, or do I need to include the "épouse AVRY" part like on the passport?

I saw on the French Embassy in Peru’s website and the Peruvian Consulate in Paris’s site that the rule is to have a passport valid for 6 months *after the arrival date* (not the return date).
I arrive in Peru on August 13, 2019 (for about twelve days), and my passport is valid until February 16, 2020.
That’s 6 months and 3 days after my arrival date in Peru. In my opinion, I’m good to go.
But could I still be denied entry if they say I don’t cover the return date or that I’m too close to the 6-month mark?
I read on the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs website that it’s possible to apply for a temporary driving permit in China, valid for 1 month.
I’m planning to rent a car (without a driver) to explore part of the country next August, so I was wondering:
Has anyone here already gone through this process upon arrival?
How long do the formalities take on the spot?
Is it possible to handle these steps in advance, before arriving in China?

My departure is slowly approaching, and now that I’ve got my Russian visa sorted, I’m fine-tuning the rest of my trip to Tajikistan. Since the Tajik visa is no longer required for stays under 30 days (for French nationals), I’ll need to visit the Ministry of Interior (OVIR) to register within 10 days of entering the country. No big deal, though, since I had to go there anyway to apply for my GBAO permit. 😉 However, I’ve *seen* several reports from travelers (mostly motorized) mentioning that you need an entry permit for Kyrgyzstan, which has to be arranged in advance at the Kyrgyz Ministry (consulate?) in Dushanbe. Otherwise, you’re *stuck* at the Kyzyl-Art border (with no Wi-Fi, of course, to try and sort it out). The most recent report was from a year ago, so I’d love to know if this is still the case and if it’s indeed at the Kyrgyz Ministry (consulate?) where you need to go for this pre-authorization.
Does anyone have any recent info on this?
