Bonjour, j'habite à Cabrera, 20 kms de Rio et travaille à Rio San Juan, côté tourisme, Rio c'est surtout un hôtel, Baya Principe situé à 9 kms, d'une capacité de 2 000 personnes, actuellement complet depuis plus d'un mois... sinon quelques maisons d'habitation qui sont louées à la semaine, il y a aussi à Playa Grande, un hôtel d'une capacité de 800 personnes je crois, mais qui est fermé depuis bientôt trois ans, il devrait rouvrir, mais quand? A Cabrera nous avons un petit hôtel, La Catalina et quelques grosses demeures qui accueillent du touriste... voilà en gros pour ce qui est du tourisme ici. Je vis ici depuis 3 ans et effectivement ça bouge beaucoup, énormément de constructions, beaucoup de projets immobilier voient le jour, je pense que c'est un secteur en plein développement, mais combien d'années pour ça? Pour ce qui est d'école d'infirmière, ici il n'y a rien et je ne crois seulement pas qu'il y en ait dans le pays, je vais essayer de me renseigner plus précisément et te tiendrai au courant...
Bonjour, je me prénomme Jean-Marie. Cela fait 2 ans que je fais des allers et retour France / Rép Dom. Avec mon épouse on s'est installé définitivement en novembre 2008. Nous habitons Cabrera à un quart d'heure de Rio San Juan. Pour répondre à ta question, non, il n'y a pas d'école d'infirmière à Rio San Juan ni aux alentours. L'école est à Santiago ou Santo Domingo. Pour le tourisme, oui, mais un tourisme de qualité pas un tourisme de masse. Je crois fortement à l'avenir dela Rép Dom, parce que c'est une rare île pourvu d'une démocratie, c'est proche des USA et du Canada. Les gens sont accueillants, et il n'y a pas de racisme. La province de Río San Juan comme actuellement comme seul attrait touristique la lacune Gri-Gri. Cependant le village est situé dans un pôle touristique bien connu, la région est très chouette avec du charme alors je ne me doute pas que dans un futur pas trop loin, ce coin de la RD va devenir très attractif.
Côté école d'infirmière, tu ne vas rien trouver dans ce domaine dans cette partie du pays. Les bonnes universités pour étudier la médecine sont sur Santo Domingo et Santiago😉.
Rio se trouve à moins de 2 heures de Santiago, accès par des petites routes de montagne, superbes, mais bien sur avec des passages plutôt difficiles, super belle vue sur la vallée de Cibao à partir d'un bar (el molino) à La Cumbra, une grosse centaine de Kms. Pour ce qui est de la Capitale, maintenant nous avons une autoroute, neuve, payante, (350 pesos) qui nous met à 2h 30 de l'aéroport de St Domingue et 3h00 du centre de la Capitale, elle n'est qu'en une voie, mais neuve, donc sans trou, peu de circulation et pas de village à traverser, donc très sécurisée, 108 kms pour l'aéroport et 125 environ pour le centre de la ville...
pour moi qui fait les deux régulièrement plusieurs fois par mois, celle de la Capitale est de loin la meilleure.

en effet nous qui vivons là, le souhaitons aussi... enfin pas tous, certains ont tellement d'avantage à voir se développer le tourisme de masse. Effectivement j'ai récemment eut l'occasion d'aller faire un tour sur Bavaro et punta Cana, je le laisse volontier aux touristes, par contre je me suis posé la question moi qui organise des rando en quads, quoi montrer comme paysage aux touristes là bas, car ici je n'ai que l'embarras du choix, ce qui n'est pas le cas de l'autre côté...
par contre nous avons le problême ici du climat, qu'ils n'ont surement pas là bas, on ne peut pas avoir une belle côte verte sans la pluie, c'est le prix à payer pour notre petit paradis!!!

If anyone knows the rates charged by movers for a crate to French Polynesia, or what pitfalls to avoid (I know you can get quotes directly from movers, but I’d love insights from actual customers😉).
