Hi everyone,

I’d love to see jaguars in the wild in Brazil. I’ve heard it’s possible in the Pantanal. Do you know any local agencies that offer this kind of excursion, or can we go on our own? I’d also like to get an idea of the price, since French tour operators charge a fortune. Could you share any tips or your own experiences? Thanks in advance!

hi there, going on your own is possible, but seeing a jaguar isn't guaranteed. If you want to go by yourself, take the road from Cuiabá to Poconé, then hitchhike along the Transpantaneira from there. Or stay at a pousada in Poconé, but I doubt there are jaguars nearby anyway. So, in the end, it's better to pay for an expensive, organized tour. That way, you can also take a boat trip.

Hi there, I’ve always wondered why it’s so expensive in France too, and whether it’s really that pricey in Brazil. Unfortunately, I’ve never been to that region.

It seems, though, that you can find tour operators for jaguar safaris—Porto Jofre looks like the main base.

Have a great trip!
